Video Production Update May 23rd 2021 (Patreon)

Sorry it's been a while since the last update. I've had a lot of "life stuff" going, I know right, typical internet man lingo. 

That said, work on videos has proceeded fairly uninterrupted. I wanted to give you all an end of week update on how the God of War: Ascension video is going:

We're looking at about a half an hour video. GoWA isn't proving to be as complex of a subject matter to discuss as Ninja Gaiden 3, so I'm hoping production won't take much longer.

Once this is out I plan on doing a video update to put on the channel to replace the last one. It will mostly contain stuff you guys here have known for a while, but I think at least on a yearly basis it's good to clarify things for all the channel followers to some degree.

Then I'll be going into production on the next main video. Legend backers have been casting their votes on which video will come after Ascension. It's quite a close race right now but the top 2 games are definitely for ahead of the others. Excited to start on whichever one wins, I have what I need to jump straight into production either way.

We're finally nearly done with this "Season" of TGBS so to speak as well. This will be the last time you see me announce a prospective release date for a video by the way, for obvious reasons. While I was hoping giving a release window for videos would force me to produce faster, ultimately there's parts of video production you can't "force" yourself to do faster. Sometimes the right words to use don't come for a while, sometimes you miss something and need to spend a few days rethinking the approach. Honestly trying to go fast may cause more issues than it solves.

Once the next series of votes are in I will create another roadmap like this one, sans the dates. I'd like to think that while I end up taking longer than expected I've proven that that doesn't mean I'm not still always working on the next thing and everyday is still another day where I strive to take another step towards delivering on every promised bit of content.

I still haven't quite settled on the next Insider Review. I probably won't be doing Resident Evil 8 on here, since I've kind of overdosed on it for the moment and I know one day it will probably get its own dedicated video on the channel. That said, I have been playing Returnal and Scarlet Nexus is coming out soon which I'm interested in trying. So maybe I'll do a quickie for you guys on one of those. Returnal seems like it's gonna be a pretty long game though, so I'll see how I do.

While I haven't been able to stream this last week I have been streaming games more often over on Twitch, (if I do, usually around 8PM UK time). I did a new game plus playthrough of Resi 8 over there if you're interested in hearing some thoughts from me on the game.

I know some of you have slower connections and aren't able to watch these streams live, which I'm sorry about. Apparently if I climb my way up the Twitch hierarchy I'll eventually unlock settings that will allow viewers with lower bitrates to watch live. In the meantime, recordings of the streams stay up on Twitch for at least a few weeks.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to it. As soon as I've completed the Ascension video I'll through up another Dino Crisis BwB part too, since I'm dying to finish that game and I think we're getting close.
