Watch me stumble through yet another unlocalised PS2 Anime game. This time Cowboy Bebop, developed by Chime and published by Bandai. Don't worry I realise what I'm doing wrong eventually, don't scream at the screen.

Before you ask, I actually intended on uploading this to the Youtube player instead, but it got blocked worldwide due to copyright flags. Which is wild because I muted a bunch of major tracks and it still didn't help.

What are you favourite anime based games by the way? Wonder if I'm forgetting any good major ones.

This game has it all, lol. If it had been released in English I'd probably have given it a go at the time. Astro Boy: Omega Factor and Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure stood out for me as great anime action platformer games on the Game Boy Advance. It's unusual to see an adaptation of early Dragon Ball, and even rarer to see one that's fun to play and has sprites this nice. As an unlockable feature, you could play as every single character in the game(as long as they had a walk animation), which was really novel in an action platformer. I knew nothing about Astro Boy when I picked up that game, but I was won over quickly. Unlike many action games it's got a heartfelt, engaging story, which is why it's stuck with me. It's a Treasure joint, and it's way less crazy than their usual stuff but still has some solid mechanics. Might be fun to check out if you watched Pluto on Netflix recently. It gets its visual design from the 2003 anime, but it's really an original take on the franchise, not unlike how Pluto adapted that one storyline in its own way. Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is the most recent anime adaptation I've dug. I think Team Ladybug makes good, approachable action platformers. They are pretty lenient, but they layer interesting systems on top of the standard gameplay that means you always have something to think about. I also liked One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 on the PS3 a lot, but that's more because of how much I like One Piece than the strength of Warriors games I'd say. But it does capture some things well. There are so many times in One Piece when a weak character is in trouble and someone else runs in and punches out the bad guy just in the nick of time. That happens all the time in a Warriors game where you gotta run around a map to help out various characters within a time limit.

Ever hear of Gungrave for the PS2? Seems right up your alley.
