OK, I'll be honest, this isn't the Back from the Dead video I teased a few weeks ago. Turns out I want to dig a little deeper into that BftD subject matter so I pulled the trigger on this little back-up video. Hopefully it's interesting nonetheless, especially to all the Bebop fans.

You might see some more shorter videos this month since the next big video is as usual, taking longer than expected.

Catch you back here soon.

The Star Fox Cowboy Bebop Game

Damn that ending hit hard. Bebop is the most influential work of art in my life, so I completely understand not wanting to share your thoughts. Even if you perfectly express every profound thought you have, you're exposing yourself to an internet too quick to judge subjective art analysis that steps beyond an "objective" consensus. Still, hopefully we can hear your thoughts on it someday. Great vid Charlie!

The personal stuff I took away from Bebop was the regrets. Every character has those confrontations with the past, where in the middle of their current life, they suddenly run into an old lover or friend and the old stuff comes crashing in. The stuff with Vicious and Julia especially hinges on being familiar with that feeling. When I watched Bebop at 14, obviously those parts were the weakest for me. I hadn't had the time to leave anything behind and encounter it again much later, so it fell flat and I just got annoyed with how sentimental the characters were acting. The ending was especially frustrating - why didn't Spike just walk away? But rewatching it at 30, I've had plenty of time to run into old high school crushes, walk around a town I used to live in or rediscovering forgotten memories, and that part of the show is one I really enjoy now.
