Video Production Update February 2nd 2024 (Patreon)

Hey everybody, wanted to give you guys a little update on what's going on on the channel.

This year I had the idea of trying to produce weekly content. This wasn't an announcement I wanted to make since I had no idea how plausible it even was until I tried.

While videos under 10 minutes like the two Timesplitters videos were pretty easy to get out weekly the pace fell off a bit with 20 minute videos like Uncharted and Galerians taking longer.

Uncharted took 9 days and Galerians took 10.

Weekly videos probably isn't technically feasible for my channel. But I like the idea of having a weekly deadline and to see how far I can push myself with that in the back of my mind.

While making all this stuff I've been working on the big video I started back in November. This is another problem with the weekly approach, is that progress on this type of Hour long video gets slower. It would be great to have stuff coming out roughly weekly with a big video made over time slotting in between everything else.

Anyway there might not be 4 videos in February due to the fact I'm shifting over to some bigger projects. 

I uploaded a stream highlights reel of the Tekken 8 Story playthrough I did on twitch to keep the numbers ticking on the channel while I focus on that bigger stuff.

They'll also be some more Patreon content towards the end of the month.

I've also been wondering if it's time to do another content vote. I know I still have the Chain of Memories video left to do from the previous vote, but things haven't quite fallen into place as I had hoped, I want to do that video in a special way and I can't really put a deadline on it. It's been a year though since Hauzer, the voted video preceding it, so maybe it's time to do some other stuff first. With other projects falling behind in the mean time, I might do another content vote, we'll see.

Alright, I haven't got much else to say other than the fact that - we're posting.

The stream highlight video was fun as someone who usually misses them as they happen. Maybe making them a more regular thing to quickly cover games you wouldn't otherwise would be a good idea. I enjoyed Galarians and Uncharted videos a lot. With a cadence increase there's usually a quality dropoff with most tubers but I didn't really notice that here. I go to your videos for points about titles most people would gloss over and that's still there for these videos. In particular as someone who's been watching you for a while it was pretty satisfying to see you be THE guy that gives Uncharted 1 a fair shake despite being fairly cynical about the trends it's introduced on the whole(for good reason). That's the type of fair-handedness I like about your videos. I wouldn't marry myself to the weekly schedule if I were you though unless it directly serves your interests in some way I'm not privy too. I've known tubers that regret setting that expectation vs what you have now in an audience that's willing to wait for quality. It also could lead to burnout later even if it's working for right now.
