I'm of the opinion that this is more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard. A character arc culminates in giving a significant Christmas gift.

Perfect timing for this post, Kate! There’s at least 12-18 inches of snow on the ground right now and I’m feeling kind of blue knowing I have to go out there later to clear all that away. I’ll need an instant pick me up later on tonight, and this will definitely do the job. The perfect follow up to last week’s Die Hard reaction. And one of best buddy cop movies ever made. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have great chemistry on screen. A nice mix of action, comedy, drama, and chaos, leading to another great tag line… “I’m too old for this shit!”

Eric Clapton is the obvious big name on this soundtrack, but just as important is David Sanborn on the saxophone. Together they're unstoppable.

Dare I say it? OK. I'm too old for this shit.

Yes, definitely watch the rest of them. Lethal Weapon 2 is a classic, 3 is good too, and 4 is awesome with Jet Li.

One of the best opening lines by a reactor that I’ve heard… “Oh wow! Titties!” 🤣 Love it! I mentioned in my first comment earlier that this is a great follow up to your Die Hard reaction last week. Obviously, because it’s another great action movie from the 80’s. But ironically, just like Mel Gibson was offered the role of John McClane and turned it down before it eventually went to Bruce Willis…Bruce Willis was offered the role of Martin Riggs and, you guessed it, turned it down before it eventually went to Mel Gibson. I’ve wondered a few times how different each movie may have been if Mel Gibson had said yes to Die Hard, and Bruce Willis had said yes to Lethal Weapon. Interesting to think about. In the beginning, when Riggs is under cover trying to nail the three drug dealers, the eye poke and the face slaps were Gibson’s way of paying homage to The Three Stooges, who often did that bit in their movies…Mel is a big fan of The Three Stooges. I feel the same way as you about the scene where Martin is contemplating ending his life. It’s a powerful and disturbing scene, but no one does emotional pain and anguish better than Mel Gibson. And as awful as it sounds, it’s one of the reasons I love watching him act. Once again, another fun and entertaining reaction, Kate! Can’t wait for the next one! Ciao!

Hey Kate! I'm so happy you're entering the Lethal Weapon world! It's one of my favourite franchises and I'm so glad you're enjoying it so far. Can't wait for the rest of the series. 🖤 PS. You look adorable in this video, your hair is 🔥

He was so good in We Were Soldiers and the Patriot. I know as a young American we (society) often think in todays contemporary terms of him (Mel Gibson), not in the best light since he apparently said some questionable things (he got canceled like most hollywood, this time for being "bigotry"), but I think we can still appreciate his work from a separate standpoint and understand him through generational times. He is not only a great actor but a great producer/director. We also have to take these popular labels with a grain of salt. I think Mel Gibson will forever go down as an OG in terms of the then Chris Hemsworth and Tom Cruise type actors of their time. Very fun film!

Another movie-watching delight with you., Kate. Thank you! :)

I forgot to say when I was here last, I love how in the shooting range they both got ear protection on but they're able to carry on a conversation across two lanes. I never really noticed that before.
