I have a taste for “Fricassee” tonight

HeyHeyJK

So, I’m sure you know by now that this is not a true story at all and the Coen brothers just did that as a laugh. Remember when I saw this in the theater and their accents were so funny that at the end when it’s just Marge and Norm in bed and seeing how sweet they are with each other, I felt bad for laughing at them because of their accents. Hands down in my top five Coen brothers movies, and there are so many more you really need to react to at some point. The scene where they shoot the state trooper is a reworking of a scene that they did in their very first film, “Blood Simple”, which is one of the best directorial debuts of all time. Definitely worth watching and Frances McDormand is in that one, too. It was one of her very first films and that’s where she met Joel Coen who she ended up marrying. You’ll see her pop up in more of their films, as well, and I highly recommend “Raising Arizona” with Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter which is like a live action Looney Tunes in parts, and that’s also the film where John Goodman makes his first of maybe 1 six appearances in their films. Then there’s “Miller’s Crossing” which is the first time Steve Buscemi and John Turturro were in one of their films, but certainly not the last, and then there’s Barton Fink, and “The Big Lebowski” which is a classic although it took a while for it to build kind of a cult following. Loved your reaction to this film, as always, and looking forward to the next one.

I watched this film in the cinema when it first came out, and 3 decade later I'm still saying "oh yah".

If you really want to tap into your inner Marge Gunderson, you can always pick up the book that Frances McDormand and the other actors used to authenticate their accents and intonations in the film… “How To Talk Minnesotan”. Oh yah, you’re darn tootin’!
