There have been so many productions of Batman I can no longer keep them straight. I lost interest somewhere around George Clooney.

And so it begins! The beginning of another epic superhero saga, the beginning of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, which begins with Bat Begins. In the beginning it begins…….OKAY, that’s enough of THAT. I loved the connection you made with Bruce Wayne’s desire to find his path and purpose, after giving up everything that his name would provide him, with The Alchemist, and the importance of pursuing your own personal legend. Chef’s kiss! IMO, Nolan has created the best Batman movies I have seen to date…The Dark Knight Trilogy is a masterpiece. Beautifully written, superbly filmed, brilliantly acted, and perfectly scored. Lol…I was waiting for you to guess that the music was written by Hans Zimmer. And this trilogy is the reason why I have no interest in watching the most recent iteration with Robert Pattinson, The Batman, or probably any other version of Batman that may come down the pike…in my head they will not be able to top what Christopher Nolan has done with this character and this franchise. Like the MCU, the cast in this movie, and the entire trilogy, is stacked with Hollywood legends and A List actors. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Liam Neeson in one movie together?!?! Yes, please!! And speaking of Liam Neeson, this is the 2nd character he’s played whose name has proven to be a tongue twister …first Qui-Gon Jinn and now Ras Al Ghul. 😅 I have a challenge for you. See how long you can go speaking in Batman’s deep, raspy, whisper voice. I tried it once, and gave myself a sore throat. I think the YouTube gods are requiring that you get to The Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight Returns immediately…didn’t you get the memo? 😉

What a treat! These films are so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed your introduction to anything Batman. This is a fine place to start.

Liam Neeson wasn't cast because of his Wife dying... in fact this was 2005, his wife had the accident and died 4 years after this film released.

What a fun reaction! I haven't seen the Nolan Batman trilogy for a while, so it'll be exciting to revisit the next two. The upgraded, military-style Batmobile tearing up the roads is definitely cool! (Would be nice to bust through rush hour traffic like that! 😄) And the hallucinations from the Scarecrow's toxin are properly creepy. 2005 was a really interesting year for film. Like Spielberg's War of the Worlds and Munich, which also came out that year, you can sense the shadow of 9/11 hanging over Batman Begins. Interesting that the way the terrorists plan to topple Gotham City (i.e. NYC) is by spreading fear. Batman counters this with a message that "the only thing to fear is fear itself," like Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the Great Depression and WW2. I also really loved the mountain footage in the beginning. I'm glad that Nolan chose to shoot using 35mm film. Something about celluloid produces such warm, beautiful, and rich tones. Can't wait for The Dark Knight! (BTW, if you ever tackle Superman, I hope you will start with the first film from 1978. Christopher Reeve's performance is the gold standard.)
