Reminder for Patrons! Tomorrow at 12noon CDT we’re using a stem splitter to dig deeper into some of the tracks on Inferno. You can watch the replay later if you aren’t available. The stem splitter I’m using is called Moises, and it will separate tracks by instrument grouping. It should be able to separate some of the synths from one another too. Any songs in particular you want to hear in this more intimate way?
Ugh it’s so hard to choose a specific one, but I will say I did a similar experiment with a stem splitter and I was amazed at the level of sonic depth in each song.
I’m based in Italy, so the time difference might be a challenge — hopefully I’ll still be able to catch your stream!
Helium hydrogen lithium Leviathan for sure.
I’d like to listen to some more “difficult” and subtle ones.
I’ve already used the BoC wiki to source some of the amples from “Age of Capricorn”. Jack Van Impe - AD 2000 - Youtube. Its at the end of the 1hr long program, lol.
“The Process” is a good example. Is that a group of people screaming?

Truthfully, I think Somewhere Right Now in the Future and I Saw Through Platonia are challenging to me/would be worth stem splitting. There are samples that are sometimes perceivable and sometimes not in both tracks.
However, I also think splitting up All Reason Departs would be cool from a more melodic angle.
Looking forward to this 🍊❤️
I vote for all songs within the first 70 minutes :)
ooh cassette tape! Cool
I’ve really enjoyed your BOC break down videos. What is your e-piano setup that you can de-tune?
I play a digital piano as a MIDI controller! So I can tune it in a DAW
There’s a place in Tucson Arizona called Biosphere 2. The history of it is so crazy it’s like a movie (I think they did make a movie out of the story). It was originally a billionaire-funded scientific experiment in the 80s in the hopes it would put the first people on Mars. 8 people lived in a mostly contained environment for 2 years. Now it’s a research center owned by a university and they mostly study the effects of erosion, and they give tours. I spent an afternoon there and for some reason the BoC swag pictured above reminded me of the aesthetic.
Oh, i think i saw that movie. Pauly Shore was in it right?
I don’t know. But if anyone is interested in the wild story behind it, I recommend this book. It’s…beyond bizarre. Fascinating. https://www.unmpress.com/9780826346742/dreaming-the-biosphere/
What about my tangled tale of creation? And my tale includes interdimensional beavers, so I win.
I saw that one. Not sure if it was the same location or a mock-up.
This gem is hard not to fall in love with the arrangement
Just found this beautiful breakdown with a google doc in the description
