Still apparently buzzing from seeing Nine Inch Nails, I've been thinking about my dream setlist, and I'd like to hear what yours would be. Just so it doesn't go on foreverrrrr, let's cap it at 3 hours long max, including the encore. Take your time in answering, I'm Looking Forward to reading them!

I have a confession to make. I am not a NIN fan.

What I would want, if I was given the chance to hear them play, and dictate what they play, would be a DJ set of their own making. 3 hours of their own likes and influences arranged and mixed in a thoughtful way by such talented musicians would be my choice.

This kinda thought experiment is a dangerous game for me... Took inspiration from the 2008 Lights in the Sky setlist structure, then shuffled in and out ideas to my taste. 26 songs is roughly as long as I've seen their setlists go, but I didn't time it out Act I (stage FX limited to strobes, overhead lights, lots of smoke): 1. 999,999/1,000,000 2. March of the Pigs 3. Terrible Lie 4. The Frail/The Wretched 5. Head Down 6. This Isn't the Place 7. The Background World (with reworked ending--the band performs the "loop" live, slowing it down each repetition until it gets doomy, with Atticus and Trent turning knobs making it more distorted and noisy while the projection curtains lower) Act II (creative projection imagery, trippy visuals, band often obscured) 8. Corona Radiata (second half, fading in from distortion of TBW ending) 9. The Four of Us are Dying 10. 28 Ghosts IV 11. Run Like Hell 12. Just Like You Imagined (w/ Mike Garson) 13. Beside You in Time 14. Ghosts Piggy 15. A Warm Place (front screen hides stage being rearranged for next act) Act III (free-for-all on FX from here on, screens raise or lower depending on the song) 16. Eraser 17. God Break Down the Door 18. Sanctified 2013 (w/ Pino Paladino) 19. In Two 20. The Big Come Down 21. Head Like a Hole (encore break) Act IV: 22. Somewhat Damaged 23. Speaking in tongues (How to Destroy Angels cover w/ Mariqueen Maandig) 24. La Mer 25. While I'm Still Here/Black Noise (w/ Sharlotte Gibson and Lisa Fischer) 26. In This Twilight (w/ Zero Sum piano outro)

This Isn't the Place 17. Discipline 18. The Four of Us are Dying 19. We're in This Together Now 20. The Perfect Drug 21. Reptilian 22. some deep cuts in here! Starting with Help Me I Am In Hell would be dope. Didn't expect "Everything"!

Oh I'd go to this concert SO HARD. Very mindful of the energy flow., and a few tracks I'd practically kill to see live - Beside You In Time, This Isn't The Place, and The Wretched. Thanks for honoring The Frail into The Wretched! In Two is such a banger live. I don' t know Run Like Hell though, what's that from? an OST?

Oooh someone's a big fan of Year Zero and The Slip! Man I'd love to see The Great Destroyer live, totally missed that tour. Love the encore.

Aetherius

The Great Destroyer is one of my favorite live experiences ever. I've seen it twice, but not since 2014. I'd love to see it again someday.

This setlist includes many of my favorite NIN songs, not all tho. It is also a reflection of my relationship with NIN, which songs and albums I vibe best with since...well, I remember when Pretty Hate Machine came out. Yikes!
