Suggested by member the_spaced_man! This was album tied with Confield in last month's poll, so I decided to line it up for this month's listening party.

I'm truly looking forward to this. I've heard Amon Tobin here or there for the past 10 years but have never sat down with a full album.

DATE/TIME: Saturday July 11, 12-2pm CDT

Klors

will you be slotting "Four ton mantis" into track 2 as it was on the CD?

evolutionQ

I hope so. Is it hard to find these days? I'd be happy to link the complete album if useful.

Klors

Not difficult, no, it's on a random Soundcloud account and ixi has listened to it on stream before, but you specifically have to go looking for it as it's been removed from all streaming platforms - which is where I'd imagine ixi will be listening to the album Which is a big shame as Four Ton Mantis is my favourite track on my fave album of his, closely followed by Deo

Quinzhee Jones

This might get the youtube video blocked, though. The song isn't allowed on streaming because of a sample copyright dispute. The stream where you played it also got removed, at least in my country...

Klors

It's true that it was on a stream and that stream got blocked, but ixi said that was because of the song that followed it, so I'm not sure. I tried to read into why it got removed from the internet and no one actually seems to know, Amon himself just said "for reasons beyond my control" or something similar, and you can still buy it on physical media. Plus the Bonobo remix is still up and uses the same samples. So *shrug*?

Wax Duck

Sounds like he'd want it included, even if you have to do it silent disco style. From https://www.facebook.com/amontobinofficial/posts/due-to-reasons-beyond-my-control-a-number-of-my-albums-tracks-listings-have-been/1365706373478482/ > due to reasons beyond my control a number of my albums tracks listings have been altered on mainstream digital platforms. a small number of my most well known tracks have also been removed from popular streaming services. this means that albums like supermodified, as currently available on iTunes for example, are no longer the records I released as far as I’m concerned. [...] The other track removed was Easy Muffin from Bricolage.

Quinzhee Jones

In case the stream gets removed, can you still post the replay on Patreon?

Quinzhee Jones

I'm also really excited for this one. I even feel like Amon does some really interesting harmonic stuff in some tracks, like the melody is flipped on its head... I don't really have the words for it so I'm really eager to see how you'll think of it!

NicTunes

I'm really looking forward to this as well. Like yourself, I've only heard a few tracks here and there (all of which I thoroughly enjoyed), but never sat down with a full album. I'm slowly making my way through a selection of 1998 releases, and his album "Permutation" is coming up in the queue. Still deciding whether I should listen to it before or after the Supermodified listening party. Chronologically, it makes sense to hear Permutation first, but then I won't get to feel the magic of a shared experience as I'd be going into Supermodified with expectations. I might wait. It'll be more fun discovering something brand new together :) Unless there are some Toby fans here who would recommend otherwise?

NicTunes

It's decided. I'm calling my next cat Amon Toe-beans.

evolutionQ

This is stellar. Any word on when part 2 might be?

ixi music

I'm still trying to figure out when I can do it! It'll be in August.
