Oooh such creative submissions this month y'all!
FEBRUARY CHALLENGE:
Due date: February 29th
Prompt: Use a pedal point, which is a singular note that remains the same. This can be throughout the entire song. It can be a note in a chord progression. It can be a static melody. It can be a harmony layer. Try to use it specifically in a way that's not simply a low drone at the bottom of a song that you can just add things on top of. Try to make it integral to your composition. In other words, use that one note as the commonality between everything, or as a through-line that creates tension and release as other things move around it. If you need any help, please email or message me!
Examples of using a pedal point:Amya, Leaving Hope, Everything In Its Right Place, The Sun, and (most of the time) Pyramid Song
Please try to keep it under 5 minutes, if possible!
