On the surface, it’s playful and strange, but underneath there’s this whole world of symbolism — cleansing, creating, and wrestling with the things that keep you moving forward.

Thanks for being here and exploring this world with me.We’re eating good. 🍽️🎶

Wooo you got to meet Ned! „… where i kept my rebel Ned“ is just a word play because the little creature is called Ned! He represents Tyler’s creativity (and is dearly loved by the clique) My interpretation of the video is that the circumstances to be able to be creative and write and produce music for example need to be just right and sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what is missing to get back into your creative flow (just like Tyler and Josh don’t understand what Ned needs at first to be comfortable to jump in the pool). And the creative process itself can be both healing and damaging just like chlorine is something used to cleanse but is also highly poisonous and toxic. Ned refuses to jump into the pool if it doesn’t have enough chlorine but he also doesn’t want to drink it straight from the cup. It’s a balancing act. But at the end of the day, Ned is still by Tyler’s side. I don’t wanna spoil too much but even if this video doesn’t seem like lore at all, it kinda is in a way. But that’ll make sense later. I hope you’re not tired of hearing that yet haha

Oh it has meaning! Everything is symbolic at this point. Theresa explained it really well in her comment so I won't add much. Tyler personified aspects of his his mind and his inner self for the Trench universe. Ned, the little creature, is a personification of Tyler's creativity. The filling of the pool is like the creative process of making music. Ned flourished in the right amount of Chlorine, he grew antlers, he transformed, but Tyler was exhausted at the end from the process. Make a mental note of the antlers, and if you get your head around it, the symbolism.

Main version : The song is about their music and how it’s like chlorine. In small doses chlorine can even be healthy for you. Chlorine can be essential for survival in certain situation because it’s so good at cleaning water; however the chemical is also poisonous and can kill you if you ingest too much. Tyler is saying that the music is the same way to him. He needs it to survive (it’s a moneymaker and also saves him psychologically and emotionally). But it can overtake him and kill him at the same time. “This beat is a chemical”. Without the music - he would die. But too much of it can also destroy him. Ned (funny creature) represents Tyler's creativity. Guys start to filling up the pool, but Ned is not satisfied until it is completely filled with chlorine (until the song is close to perfect for Tyler ). The horns are also really important for the story, it’s a part of that “creativity” you’ll see later on in the story

I think during the hiatus Tyler has mentioned that he went DEEP into the story/lore and creating the music, almost to a point of obsession and I've always got the "vibe" that it maybe wasn't the healthiest thing for him...anyways its kinda where my brain goes during this song a lot.

I’m a big Ned fan.
