He's using the language of a personal relationships for the metaphor, but I personally don't think it's about Jenna. I just can't see him 1. writing a song about how cold his wife is and releasing it publically and then 2. getting his wife to be in the video while he sings about how cold she is. That's brutal! 😆 I think he's singing about school/college days so it's a school counsellor and I think he's personifying Ohio and how he gets seasonal affective disorder due to the weather there. It makes him literally SAD. But he loves Ohio and is 'too old to run away'. Tyler has never moved away from his Hometown. Interestingly in this video, when Tyler sings "you make me sad and second guess myself" he shields his eyes from the sun - a throwback to the Ride video where he does the same thing "I just want to stay in the sun (Son) where I find I know it's hard sometimes" . And also looks and points up to the sky while he sings it. In other videos and performances times Tyler looks up and sings have always been him singing to God (Goner live, Holding On To You video Downstairs etc). So that could be the relationship he feels is 'cold' in the context of many songs in their discography and the Lore at that time. Or maybe just coincidence.

They seem so fun and down to earth, I wish I could be friends with them too! This is a fun video especially at the end. I wonder if he got inspired by Marty McFly in Back to the Future. That’s what him rolling around on the ice with the guitar reminds me of. 😆

During the creative process, Tyler changed the lyrics from "I'm a bit too old - to feel this way" into "I'm a bit too old - to run away". And I'm glad he did.
