Another great horror comedy involving spiders is Eight Legged Freaks. Such a fun, silly throwback movie to monster movies of the 50s but with a cartoonish sensibility.

Oh, man. I watch your reactions to every movie I've seen, but I don't know if I can do this one. Pretty sure this movie actually gave me arachnophobia. I remember handling spiders as a kid without a problem, and I watched this several times too. At some point, I developed spider fear, and I genuinely do blame this movie. Maybe I can just listen to the reaction 😆

You’re having a run of movies i saw in the theatre! As it was a UK PG certificate i could see this even tho i was about 6 years old, and yes, it did scare the crap out of me

Such a fun film but have to pass on a RIP for actor Julian Sands. He went hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains outside of Los Angeles in January 2023 and didn't return. Because the area had a lot of snow and bad weather immediately after his disappearance, his body wasn't found until June when it was discovered by some hikers. He was an amazing actor which you've likely seen in other movies or TV projects, with 161 credits in his IMDB, including one film that Simone brought up once that she says she will never watch, "Boxing Helena". He was fantastic in 'A Room with a View" and in "Gothic" - a fever dream of a film about the night that inspired Mary Shelly to write the novel "Frankenstein".

I was a theater manager when this came out. A few of us used to stand in the back of the theater with a big rubber spider attached to a string tied to a broom handle & wait for key moments. I’ll let you fill in the rest.

GREW UP watching this as a kid in the 90s, I was obsessed :) One time had a couple guys over for a sleepover and I "crawled" my hand up his back during the film, he jumped up crying and had to call his mom to come and pick him up. I feel bad about it now lol

Given Simone saying she's going hiking and the discussion of natural horrors, you guys need to see, "127 Hours",(2010) the true story of a hiking trip gone very very wrong. Directed by Trainspotting director Danny Boyle, it's very well done and a beautiful film.

Julian Sands, the blonde haired scientist at the beginning went missing for months while hiking a while back. I thought bigfoot had ate him, but they found his body recently, so it wasn't bigfoot after all. Hey ho.
