Late Kate

Never need much of an excuse to rewatch this, but I'll take it tnx!

Jay Davis

Oh nice! Was hoping you'd sneak this one in someday. Guess today's that day! I really enjoy this mov... er ehem I mean. Grr! This movie is for kids! I'm going to watch sportsball!

Gunnar Rea

Oh shiz.. Let's see if i can actually get through this movie without falling to pieces..

Amar

Cinebinge coming in clutch with a Disney masterpiece. "Send her to the moon for me"

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

This movie does an amazing job showing how being sad can sometimes be the best thing to bring people together by being honest about your feelings, not to mention how inventive the film is in getting to that point. Very much awaiting the sequel too! Also George - whatever you want to fill holes with, I trust your tastes and judgement haha.

For some reason I have thought that they already did watch this amazing movie. Looking forward to watch their reaction

djKENTO

Pixar was all bangers from their first film, Toy Story in 1995 to 2010 when Cars 2 hit. Then it starts to be every other film is good… now it’s kinda who knows. Movies like The Good Dinosaur, Lightyear, and Elemental are all pretty mediocre to bad.

Jacob King

Beautiful movie. It sounds stupid to say, because I was well into adulthood when it came out, but as someone with ADHD and related emotional dysreguation issues I am not always aware of how my emotions are interacting which my behaviour and I really like the desk metaphor and found it useful. Also, sadness touching all the core memories is deeply relatable. Look forward to watching.

JayF

I can't do this one. One of the few movies I can't watch because I have such a visceral reaction to one of the characters that I want to reach through the screen and kill them. I'll watch the YT edit to see if George had a similar reaction.

droodly

As to the George question about that empty shelf space, I say print out the creepy picture of Simone from the Evil Dead thumbnail where she is staring out of the cellar, turn it sideways and stick it in there so she'll always be back there staring out at the camera.

Pam Nail

"Forget it, Jake. It's Cloud Town" is one of my favorite nerdy bits in the movie -- a reference to the final line in the 1974 movie Chinatown (Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown.").

Mastervodo

Haven't watched this reaction yet, but I anticipate that it will make my weekend!

Mastervodo

My shelf hole suggestion: 1st thought was a skull with glowing eyes. 2nd was a Lord of the Rings themed sculpture.

Tomas Gaspar

This is quite a different form of Pixar Movie...it feels different in tone for example. More Mature then one would expect...

Blake Krawczuk

Was literally just thinking "I hope they react to this soon!" Love it! Love the movie, can't wait to watch!!

I feel like that every time I see “Akira” and it’s both the main characters. Also, the “Avatar” movies. I find the Na’vi so visually repellent that when I tried watching the first one for the first time a year or so ago, I just couldn’t finish.

REDR58
>>134247197

Possibly thinking of “Turning Red”? Or “Encanto”? Or “Coco”? They watched all of them.

Persnickity

You should put some big buns on the shelf! (The newer job cinnamon flavored variety)

Haye Zeus

This movie always get me with that ending. I didn’t think i would ever cry about someone missing Minnesota

Blake Krawczuk

The thing I love about this movie is that Joy is both the hero and in a way the villain, for just not being able to recognize that sometimes Sadness is important and necessary too.

Dioskur

Green is the colour of hope here in Germany But you turn green when you are sick and just about to throw up

Josip Buretic
>>134247197

No, I know that they did watch all of those because I watched their reaction and it was wonderful(Coco and Encanto are in my personal top 5 Pixar movies ever) 😊

Odd Thomas

We need Wreck it Ralph!

lovemoose

put a toilet paper roll on your shelf, george

Kevin O

Please consider these movies: Old school I love you man Pineapple Express Minority report This is 40 Prisoners Kingpin I now pronounce you chick and Larry Sausage party Horrible bosses Wreck it Ralph Gangs of New York American beauty The revenant Shutter island 12 years a slave Wedding singer Hall pass Crash Blades of glory Hot tub Time Machine The internship Big daddy Saving Silverman Hitch The breakup Casino Grandmas boy Heavyweights Role models Knocked up Batman forever Sherlock Holmes

Jayson Phillips

U guys!!!!!!! Watch 3-body problem on Netflix its based of the Chinese author, and written by Game of Thrones people!

Odd Thomas

There is a supercut that edits out all the 'inside' scenes and its just a dark story of a girl running away from home.

Queen of Farts

For me, WALL-E is the only other Pixar movie that’s as good as Inside Out. Oh and that reminds me, please react to WALL-E! 🙏

Ginger

I highly recommend watching the short "Riley's first date" before Part 2, it's great. :D

Michael

George, you should put the Orb of Osuvox in that cubbie.

PIG

This is up there as one of my favorite childhood films. I can't wait to show it to my kid when she's older, I think it's very important.... important for most adults to watch too!

Philipp Roensch

I agree, the only shortcoming of this movie is it's focus on just 4 emotions (an their mix), simplifies things. Once could also say that anybody still growing up, get's to know their emotions at a different time and order. Without spoiling too much, look like the second movie will be addressing this. This here, a great Pixar movie nonetheless, and lovely reaction! (I cry everytime) If you can do a little extra video, on Disney+ they should also have the short, "Riley's first Date".

REDR58

Humans have exactly 4 emotions. Just like they have 4 humours.

Mastervodo

How about a stuffed Owlbear? Elf on a shelf? No.... Owlbear near the office chair.

Jesse Coombs

Another Pixar movie that is kind of the other side of the coin would be 2020's "Soul". It also has some great world-building, and also made me cry.

TheSentry77

Another great reaction guys! I'd love it if you would take into consideration reacting to 2003 comedy Old School, and 2015 western horror Bone Tomahawk. Thanks!

REDR58

Great reaction. The lesson for me is, never move and never have children. 😄

Shibby

For shelf space you can get a light up 'Moria Lamp' which has the door to Moria/Doors of Durin. There's heaps on etsy.

Tacitus G. Kilgore

That was really good, I want to see more of them jumping between different people.

djKENTO

i got way too high for this… wrecked me… looked great on my Hue Sync set up tho.

They’re incredible on animated movies because animators play with color more than live action films.

MasterElodin
>>134290704

Monsters Inc, Nemo and incredibles are also pretty good imo. Not comparable to WALL-E but then again that's an unfair comparison to Begin with lol.

Jacob King

Wait, have you seen or not seen Chinatown? The Cloudtown bit was a reference. It should definitely be included on a poll at some point. It’s a tricky one because the director is Roman Polanski (100% guilty, absolute creep) but also Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunnaway are doing incredible work and it’s at a similar level to Godfather and 2001 for cultural significance. Not a personal favourite but definitely capital C Cinema.

Opti_Frog

“Forget it, Jake, it's Cloud Town” is the most adult joke in the movie 😄 Not top tier Pixar for me. The only thing i remembered, having only watched it once before, was Bing Bong's sacrifice.

Angie Woodson
>>134250855

That is...quite a strong reaction to a kids' movie. I'm kind of nervous to find out which character you're referring to... but feel it's irrelevant bc villifying any of them would indicate you missed the entire point of us movie

Gary Fixler

I think you should put a cat on that bookshelf behind you, maybe one of Simone's extras.

Gary Fixler

"What color is boredom?" Beige. "If I don't survive, tell my wife 'Hello.'"

REDR58

I think the obvious super dark version of this kind of movie would be portraying someone who is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s, with their memories truly disappearing forever. Basically just like everything inside the pit showing the memories fading away into dust. But I don’t think I want to watch that.

Gary Fixler

I have a little connection to this movie, so it holds a special place in my heart. I used to work in the games division at Disney as a tech artist (awesome, fun team), and we made Disney's Thought Bubbles (a bubble pop phone game). I rigged the 5 emotions for that game, and had to report regularly to a Disney animator, who was our look and feel liaison. They had so many requirements, 20-30 page, sketch-filled style guides per character, with things like what George read (Joy is a star, Fear is a frayed nerve), but also a ton of little requirements penciled in everywhere, like that Sadness' glasses frames never cover her pupils, and examples of how to keep Joy's silhouette all rubbery and upbeat. However, we were working on extremely limited joint and poly counts, with no blendshapes, corrective or otherwise, so it ended up taking a few weeks per character to dial it all in to their specs as well as we could (I can rig a typical low-res character in a day), during which time I had to invent new [at least to me] rigging solutions, like how do we have Fear's eyes blink (they're like roll-top desk tambors), while also twisting, squashing, stretching, etc, with the pupils staying under the lids, and only with a few joints? How do we have Sadness' mouth go from a tiny little circle up to a full-face, sobbing mouth, while looking smooth, with only a few joints (and no scaling!). If you work for Disney, you're allowed on "the lot" whenever, which is their original campus, where Walt used to have an office. They often have events. Our little team got to go see an early cut of the film in one of their small theaters, so we'd understand what our game was even about. Some parts were still in the sketch/storyboard phase. Random memory (a yellow one): I remember one art meeting where there was a pause, and I asked "So... is Riley controlling the emotions, or are they controlling her, or is it some mix of the two. Like, how does that work?" Everyone stared off into space for a minute, and people kept starting to respond, but then getting lost in thought again (so meta!), before the producer finally said "Well, let's get back to the art stuff." I admit, I do love derailing meetings from time to time. We had way too many of them anyway :)

MatthewBrown74m

My imaginary friends where all don bluth characters like land before time

Jordan

dune part 2 just dropped on torrent galaxy not that this info would interest George in any way just putting it here for anyone interested George

Lola Lirola

This movie is just so *accurate* in all its little details. Can't wait for the sequel.

Logan Kerlee

lol, wish you both threw the sequel's poster up so we could take a look at it!

Brandon Meng

Loved this. Y'all should do a movie trailer reaction for the second one. It really hits all the notes

Dakota

This is my favorite Pixar film, so it was great to watch along with you guys. You should probably watch the sequel short "Riley's First Date?" that was released when Inside Out was released on blu-ray, it is also quite fun.

MasterElodin
>>134334800

Yeah especially with something as vividly colorful as this movie. I mostly used them for immersion in horror games so my mind never really went to Pixar movies lol

Presto2222

Annnnnndddd George for the win with the "hair up" comment! Seriously though, I was nearly in tears from the start. Beautiful film, and exactly the type of content I love watching with you both.

Justin Leone

There's a few Pixar movies that are merely "pretty good, but nothing spectacular", but as far as studios go, I think it's fair to say they haven't made a bad movie. And since most of them are fantastic, I think they probably have the best track record of any long-running studio.

Justin Leone

I associate pride with (Walter) white.

Anthony Jackson

I really enjoy watching these kid animations with you guys! I don't know what all you've seen but just wanna throw out some suggestions for future polls -UP -Cars -Wall-E -The Croods -Meet the Robinsons -Shrek 3

Rafael Benedicto

The movie portrayed San Francisco unrealistically. There are no homeless people sleeping in tents and drug addicts littering the streets with used needles.

Trevor S Bright

You guys should really watch the tie in short "Riley's First Date" like you did with The Incredibles and "Jack-Jack Attack". It's pretty hilarious. And it stars the dumbstruck boy Riley runs into at the end of this one.

Amelie W

Funny little detail I think just about everyone overlooked: Riley's Joy casts a negative shadow. Light, instead of dark. She, and only she, of all the emotions of all the people we see. I haven't watched the sequel yet, but I believe Riley will go to the Moon, for Bing Bong's sake.

Eric Haines

I have teeth falling out dreams all the time. The meaning of them is surrounding anxiety or something we are worried about
