This is my JAM. Should probably wait until its dark to watch this but I'm too excited. The sequel is just as good! Other great James Wan films: Malignant and Dead Silence

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Man this still has one of the most effective teaser trailers I’ve ever seen. Was hooked to see it by the final “clap” in particular. Shoutout to fellow Aussie James Wan - his horror and tension building talents are where he shines brightest! Also white is fashion neutral and catches light better as far as the dudes at furniture and decor have told me lol

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Yes! Please do the whole ConjurVerse, that would be so cool! The main Trilogy is The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Then the prequels are The Nun, The Nun 2, Annabelle Creation, Annabelle, Annabelle Comes Home. Comes Home actually takes place between Conjuring 1 and 2, I think. Then there's the less received spin-off The Curse of La Llorona. They're working on a TV series now I believe.

Okay so George… those videos are a 2 bird with one stone bit if weird content creation. Two things are going on. They’re making rage bait content because they know normal people will hate it on every level because it’s wasteful, disgusting and pointless… AND THEN there’s the other thing… secret fetish content. it’s called Sploshing or Wet & Messy. They’re pissing off the normies and creating very specific SFW fetish content.

E. D.

George, could you fix the audio please? Your mic volume is lower than Simone‘s, objectively lower. The first time I noticed that was during watching the 'Descent' reaction, since then every video is like that. This was never an issue before. Nothing changed on my side. Last tuesday while watching Breaking Bad it really started to be annoying. I don‘t mean, she‘s louder when you guys laugh, it‘s even when you both speak in a calm "normal" not high-pitched tone that you‘re not on a same level, volume-wise.

djKENTO

as for soap cutting. videos, often those bars are used to reform other bars for another video. Or they’re not even real soap, they’re often wax that have been pressed into a bar of soap shape so they can just reuse it again later.

Amar

Dune 2 is out on digital. Be one of the first to react to it...

FWPJR.

I hate horror movies, my ex forced me to watch this and many other horror movies though lol this one scares the hell out of me. But I want to see ( and watch ) Simone’s reaction to this movie because her reactions are always great and hilarious when she watches horror movies. So I’ll definitely watch this one even though I can’t stand movies like this lol

miniature

its officially out on April 16th. so not yet. any channel that does it before then is just giving away evidence of them pirating lol.

Orphan Crippler

Only problem I have with the whole Conjuring series is that they glorify the Warrens and make them out to be these great heroes protecting the innocent.. When in reality they were terrible people, especially Ed Warren.

rae

this just reminded me I think a show recommendation that could be really entertaining and make great reactions is American horror story. Each season surrounds a different story, with each season having about 13 episodes, therefore it isn't crazy long and doesn't have to be watched back-to-back. you guys should look into when you have the time. it isn't all horror and has crazy drama, plot twist, and cool real-life stories intertwined.

Prof. Writhms

Hey, George: Referencing your question as to why movies always depict the haunting of big houses and never small places like apartments… There is a Stephen King story titled “1408” that was made into a 2007 movie that was pretty well made (starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson). It’s about a haunted hotel room in the middle of a big city. You wouldn't think a single hotel room would be scary [besides room 237 in "The Shining"]. Well, Stephen King proved otherwise. Please check that one out on the channel! 😊👌

DM DC

You could do the Saw Franchise as a Patreon Exclusive? Not sure if that would make a difference but that would be my recomendation.

Odd Thomas

I can understand people not wanting to feel scared by horror movies but for me I see it as building up a tolerance to scary scenarios so you're more prepared in real life - exactly as nightmares are designed to do. All these Disney girls who never watch any horror would be the first to go in a zombie apocalypse, lol. A great TV series to react to would be Haunting of Hill House. It is - and I don't say this lightly - a masterpiece. Most of The Conjuring-verse is great. My ranking: The Conjuring: A+ The Conjuring 2: A+ The Conjuring 3: C Annabelle: D Annabelle Creation: B Annabelle Comes Home: B The Nun: D The Nun 2: B

That case in Long Island that Lorraine mentioned at the end there was of course the infamous Amityville Horror that made the Warrens famous. I don't want to get to into it, suffices to say, they're a little controversial in terms of veracity. But Andrea Perron and the other sisters still contend that this movie actually didn't do the story justice, they say there was a lot more going on, and there's speculation that it's some kind of portal between dimension etc. There are too many stories that I would love to get into, but one of my favorite stories is Roger Perron punching Ed Warren and telling him never to come back. Oh man movies like this make me want to watch more ghost stories, can't get enough, but I really want you guys to watch INSIDIOUS some time. Love that movie.

mpd

Simone's pulse never goes above 85, kind of like Hannibal Lecter, even when he ate that nurses tongue. The thought of painting over a mahogany staircase sent her HR higher than anything in the movie.

Middy

Poltergeist III takes place in a skyscraper in Chicago. Not a particularly good movie though, one for the fans only.

djKENTO

Well first of all, the new New Jersey thing they mention at the end is The Amityville Horror incident. There are SEVERAL movies about it, one stars Ryan Reynolds. The “Annabelle” doll was actually a Raggedy Anne doll in reality but Raggedy Anne is owned by a company and there’s no way they want their beloved classic doll associated with horror. This movie spawned two direct sequels and an ungodly amount of connected universe films. There are like 3 Annabelle movies, a series called The Nun and a few others I think.

sheriffjt

To be clear, these movies offer material support to a couple who at best are con artists and at worst help support and defend murderers and belittle their innocent victims. Gonna pass.

miniature

i think you may be over estimating how heart rates work lol... shes sitting there, watching a movie. its a passive activity, a jump scare or sense of tension only lasts a few seconds at a time. it does just ramp your heart rate up by magnitudes for extensive periods of time. thats call a heart attack hahaha.

miniature

boy if you only ever watch movies that have a 100% clean conscious, youre never going to watch any movies then. nothing made by disney, warners and certainly none of the films ever produced by weinstein right? or is it just this particular film about fricken ghosts and demons that you wanted to feel tall on a high horse on.

Levi Curry

Please watch the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.

Drew

Since everyone is already touching on the Warrens' credibility here, I'll add to it and say that they are not endorsed by the Catholic Church. They may have worked with a few priests but even there I've read somewhere that these priests were schismatics (breakaways from the Catholic Church).

TokyoLopez

i could’ve swore this was already posted before, oh well, more for us

IncredibleBulk

just remembered the cellar scene, Simones reaction is going to be great

Jon

... damn... once again, Simone's not gonna like this one

Lou Gallucci

Suggestion for your next horror film: Free Solo.

Dazzler & Em

Good reaction, sequel is definetly worth a watch but I wouldn't expand beyond that. For the next horror/ personal fear poll, the second paranormal activity is actually better than the first.

Thomas Yanez

Regarding the cooking videos, "They take two bites and you know they're throwing it out because it's disgusting." I dunno, maybe you're being a little elitist with your tastes here, but many of those monstrosities are AMAZING. You might need to wiggle around the proportions or prep to get a more well-cooked end product, but that's part of the fun.

Harry Fieldson

As soon as George started talking about that over the top quantity food videos I just started thinking of Epic Meal Time... now I feel old

Monica Alarcon

As a horror movie it's good but it has as much truth as Monsters Inc. The Warrens were just grifters...

Patrick

Simone must have a really healthy circulatory system to have a resting HB in the low-mid 60s even when watching a horror movie. I'm picky with horror movies, but this was great!

tullius cicero

The Warrens are such clowns Lol. But i love this movie.

schnoobs

fun fact: the "fun music/fun montage" song is Ryan Gosling singing. its called In the room where you sleep by dead man's bone's which is ryan goslings band.

China Andronicus

I used to sleep walk like crazy as a kid, often bringing my pillow along. I have a distinct memory of waking up in the bathtub with my pillow. I tried to return to my bed and crawled into the tub instead.

REDR58

Lili Taylor who plays the mother Carolyn Perron here is absolutely fantastic in the 1996 biographical movie “I Shot Andy Warhol” as Valerie Solanas. The shame of it is that it is very hard to find outside of DVD.

JoeySnowyNoey

I like this movie but keep in mind that there is evidence that The Warrens weren't the best. A lot of what they did was overblown or made up all together. This isn't just rumors too, there is evidence. And I believe people within the ghost hunting community also spoke out but I'll have to be checked on that because I'm not 100% sure Im right. So take the last part with a grain of salt but overall it seems like they did a lot of what they did for fame rather than trying to help people. Also, Ed had an underaged girlfriend that lived with them for many years. So my main problem with these films is it myth makes these people into saints when that wasn't the reality.

Wyatt Nuxoll

As a construction worker , I have some inside info into what George was talking about . How everything is painted an ugly white color in the prelogue . Unfortunately with construction in these times , it's more about how fast we can build a house or an apartment complex more than how good can we build it. Haha lol basically quantity over quality. Naturally when you rush on these projects, corners will be cut and their will be a lot a imperfections that will be covered up. Like Simone said earlier the drywall is white, the plaster is white, contractors and builders use white paint because it is tge cheapest paint I believe and it hides a lot of impurities in the walls if the beginning material is already white . It will be hard to notice. I can't tell you the thousands of dollars that contractors save when they use the white paint because now all the little imperfections are out of sight , so they are out of mind every apartment complex and every mil- spec house built, will have its walls painted white . Believe me it is not for the occupance freedom of decision it is solely so you don't see how F@$ed up your apt is or your house lmao haha

Jared Winn

Seen it mentioned, but Haunting of Hill House is just one season and incredible. Hella creepy at times too.

As far as Catholicism is concerned, anyone, believer and atheist alike can perform baptism in situations where someone is near the point of death: “Because baptism is the one sacrament necessary for salvation, it is the easiest to receive. We see this ease in the matter of the sacrament – water, the basic sustenance of life – as well as in the minister. Ordinarily, a bishop or priest (or, in the Western church, a deacon) administers the sacrament; but, if necessary, anyone can validly do so. People are sometimes surprised to learn that a non-Christian or even an atheist can perform a baptism. As long as he or she says the correct words (“I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”) and puts “living water” (that is, water that flows in some manner) in contact with the body of the person being baptized, then the baptism is real. The person administering the sacrament simply has to intend to do what the Church does in baptism. He or she does not have to know anything about baptism or sacramental theology. Rather he must wish, if only implicitly, to baptize, even if he has no idea what that entails. In other words, he just cannot explicitly not want a baptism to take place while administering it. It used to be quite common for hospital nurses to know how to baptize. In fact, every Catholic should know how to administer the sacrament in case the need ever arises. The fact that we can do something, however, doesn’t necessarily mean we should. A layperson should baptize only in an emergency such as a sudden illness, accident or natural disaster in which the unbaptized person is in imminent danger of death and a priest or deacon is not readily available.” https://archwaysmag.org/can-a-non-priest-perform-a-baptism-if-so-how-is-it-done-and-when-is-it-appropriate-1

Funny thing about the question you asked about whether or not it has to be Christian iconography to warrant a negative reaction from demonic entities- There are places everywhere in the world where recorded evidence of specifically Jesus related icons are broken or burned or thrown where "demons" supposedly are. Not other icons or gods. Just super weird- if Jesus of Nazareth was just some dude the romans killed and not the son of God- why does it warrant such a response from demonic entities? Always was curious to me.

Chase Schleich

She did get up to 86 once. Heart beat monitors don't work very well when it comes to measuring fear. This is the 3rd film she's worn it and no matter how freaked out she gets, it rarely registers a HB above 70 except for in a few rare instances.

Ethan Bevis

A few other things to note in terms of authenticity of this film- the actual home is much smaller, and of course the doll and "haunted" items are props made to be "creepier" than the real doll and items.

FranciscoGios

I’ve never heard Simone scream so hard, when the hanging corpse dropped in front of Lorraine Warren on the basement literally Simone’s scream made me jumped out of my seat 😳. Also you guys missed the real Lorraine Warren when Vera Farmiga’s & Patrick Wilson’s characters were giving a Demon/Exercist Class, she’s the first old lady when the camera is showing the whole class audience. Conjuring 2 next!!!

Shpadow

White paint is both the easiest to see where you need to clean and the easiest to coordinate everything else with. Don't have to think about decorating when you've got white paint.

REDR58

Well, I thought the movie itself was all right, her reactions were much more entertaining.

REDR58

I’m fairly certain it involves the people of that area. Any area.

REDR58

I meant to say earlier, I was happy to see in this movie that there weren’t any hardheaded objections of some of the secondary characters about what was going on right in front of their faces. Despite the fact that I don’t believe in *any* of this nonsense, in the world of the movie, it clearly exists, and no one was objecting loudly and becoming problematic to the others who were trying to get the problem solved. I was additionally happy to see the people didn’t suddenly get baptized and start changing their belief system or non-belief system as it were. In too many of these sorts of movies everybody will get baptized or have a change of heart or find their faith or some other nonsense.

WayneC

If I am not mistaken, Simone's heart rate peaked at 92 - when she was doing her introduction, reading the label of the bottle.

WayneC

Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatuural did an episode on The Conjuring house. They stayed overnight in the hose and did some "tests".

Mastervodo

I REALLY love the heart rate monitor! Great gimmick! Keep doing it! Loving it! We need a Top Gun volleyball scene for Simone to watch! I did see Simone's heart rate jump to 95 right around her AWESOME scream when Lorraine was in the basement. The movie spent several minutes just CRANKING up the suspense for that jump scare with the hung corpse, and man did they ever get Simone! Good job movie! (George was ready to let out a belly laugh at that moment) I also want everyone to notice in this FANTASTIC reaction, that when it's scariest and you're just waiting for the next creepy, scary thing to happen - George's eyes are lit up and has a grin ear to ear and Simone has a grimace, eyes squinting, hands in front of her face and watching the movie between her fingers, saying "Nononononononono" and "Fuck off!" HAHAHA! Love it! Lovelovelovelove it!

BangDroid

2:03:33 there's spooky talking in the background when George is talking

Johen Kay

Simone, I know exactly what you mean. When watching horror movies like this, it feels like you are opening yourself up and making yourself more vulnerable to the unseen, to the unknown. It's why I don't like watching horror movies as well, but I love watching you react to them, because I can relate to you. Thanks for an amazing reaction!

Gary Fixler

Those really long videos where they pile on cake decoration, or lasagna layers in a sink, or do some art project, but keep going way past any point of reason, making it more and more of a mess, I blame on Justin Flom. I started to notice I'd yet again be watching for minutes, a handful of bad actors trying to hype up a stupid project for way too long, and look down and see his name, and go !@#% Justin Flom! Not again! I looked into him, and he may be the person who cracked the FB algorithm for long, pointless, rage-bait videos, that just keep sucking people in, and growing his empire. I think he also has a whole media network of people he's trained to do this. I was even jotting them down for a while in a text file - AllieSparksShow, WatchTheAnnaShow, TheRickLaxShow, JanelleandkKate, lexiandoceanandrick... I wanted to get to the core of the conspiracy. The worst thing was watching a whole video I enjoyed, and then realizing it was one of his, and feeling so dirty. He has some actual content sprinkled in among the pointless crap.

Simone's Coconut Squire

The real Annabelle doll is actually just a Raggedy Anne doll. Still creepy but not as evil looking as they like to make it out in movies. Also the Warrens ran an Occult museum so they had a vested interest in making sure people believed these stories were real.

Nat B

Great reaction, this movie is relentless! It's so great. It's also the best from the so-called "Conjuring Universe". There's fun to be found in some of the other movies (especially in a few of the Annabelle ones), but nothing reaches the highs of this one. And each time I see the first Conjuring movie it makes me think of Oculus (2013) by Mike Flanagan. Same vibes. You really should give this one a try too, it's brilliant.

sarCC

Oculus rules, as does Ouiga: Origin Of Evil. Flanagan is a master at horror.

Skyruff

George, your new lair is great. One item, while I am glad you guys have earned it, the Utube trophy is a little distracting like a highlighted upstage character.

Scott Gibbs

I hated this movie and upon rewatch I still hate it. Boredom interspersed with jump scares. And in real life the Warrens were awful people. I was enjoying your reaction but I didn't make it to the end. Lol

Emily G

I hope you guys do the second movie. It’s honestly just as good as this first one 🤞
