Maiki

Before i press play: It's been a decade since i (and probably a lot of us) last watched it, what a joy it was to relive this journey with you guys. One of the best tv shows in history with by far the best reactors. Thanks!

Eric Winterton

Hitting play loads up the video from last week and not the new one

Hernani

I think you've made a mistake with the upload

Paddy

its the link to last weeks 2 episodes, right?

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Oh man gotta be that guy, sorry…. Pops up eps 13-14 video I think, unless I’m having a moment?

Alexrandom

Please let "the leftovers" or "Watchmen" be in the poll. These are truly incredible shows. Very happy to have been on this breaking bad journey with you guys :)

Professor00

Uploaded the wrong video

Deepan Nathan

I think you uploaded the wrong week dudes

Paddy

its working now

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Just quietly gonna say this is one of the best and satisfying finales out there for any show. Thanks to Vince Gilligan and all involved for a masterful finish. Props to S&G for getting through the whole series 😊

"I don't hate Dildo" - Simone, 2024

Mike FromOz

I recall from the "Napoleon Dynamite" reaction that George likes things that can be 'cringey', but done well, and referenced his like for the UK version of "The Office". In that vein, I would thoroughly like to recommend you watch "Peep Show". It's another UK TV comedy, and really does reach the heights of feeling awkward about, well, everything. It's really great, and I think both of you would like it.

E. D.

I know the most will vote for Better Call Saul, but it would be better IMO to make a little break from that world and vote for Sopranos, Dexter or Fargo.

Brad Graeff

I live in Missouri and its the "Show Me State", like show you what? I hate it lol

djKENTO

Really hoping for Halt & Catch Fire or For All Mankind was possible show options. I think George would love the way Halt & Catch Fire is basically Breaking Bad but Walter White is Steve Jobs and the drug is home computing.

Joe Lazarus

The Sopranos, Dexter, LOST, Ozark or Better Call Saul!

Martin Roca

I will we should all vote for BCS for next big show.

Fernando Alamán

It wouldn't win the poll, because nobody saw it back in the day and I don't think much people would have since. But man would I love a "Halt & Catch Fire" reaction. Best final stretch of episodes ever. With "The Americans", my favorite show of the 10s. And both G&S would love it for sure, because the technology environment as well as the characters and their relationships. Best relationship between two female leads I've ever seen. Whoever is reading this, do yourself a favor and give "Halt And Catch Fire" a try. It grows in quality every season, from "good show" to "one of the best".

Da Termometer

Jesse Plemons plays a very likeable main Character in Fargo season 2 (my favourite season of one of my favourite shows. maybe you ll see it oneday.

JayF

There's a Lake Titicaca in South America.

Pam Nail

- For a likable Jesse Plemons, I'd recommend Power of the Dog (which he was Oscar-nominated for), Game Night, and Killers of the Flower Moon. - The fixer guy is played by Robert Forster. You've seen him in Jackie Brown. - New Hampshire is indeed the Granite State. I don't think any of the nicknames are terrible, but "Sooner State" (Oklahoma) has always been weird to me. New Hampshire [ETA: New Mexico, dangit!] (where Breaking Bad is mostly set) has one of the cooler ones -- Land of Enchantment.

JayF

"Strong deeds, gentle words" - Maryland state motto

Jeff K

Meanwhile, here I am, a native of Vermont, whose state nickname is just a literal translation from what the state's name means in French: Green Mountain State.

Deadly Ramon

I hope it's Season 1 of Better Call Saul after Season 3 of Black Mirror.

JayF

I just hope Fringe makes it on to a poll. I know it probably won't win. Just want to see it on the radar for later.

Kameron Webb

Can we get Barry on this next poll??? It's soooo good!

Dan

As a Californian, I don't really know which state is the "lamest". We coastal states basically designate anything that isn't CA, NY, WA, or TX to be a "flyover state", because it's all just stuff we see through plane windows. "Live free or die" is a pretty cool state motto, though. I just wouldn't know it belongs to New Hampshire without Breaking Bad. Y'know, cuz it's a flyover state /shrug

Jeff K

Throwing out a show for a future potential comedy TV poll: Veep (which would be great, since it's an election year here in the States and I'd rather laugh at politics than be bombarded by the nastiness for the next few months).

Dan

We had DILDOs in the Navy. The military has different kinds of officers, so for example a dental professional is a medical officer who'll never be in charge of a ship. An officer who plans to be in charge of a ship is a "line duty officer". Well, going through school, we had these college graduates who basically agreed to put on a uniform and teach classes, but they were boring because they didn't have any fun sea stories (hadn't actually served yet) and they didn't have any shore stories, either (because they were nerds). So, being lame, they were designated "direct input" ... line duty officers. Yknow, for the lols

Pam Nail

Felina is a character in the Marty Robbins song ("El Paso") that plays in the episode. The guy in the song has fled El Paso after killing someone but goes back, even though he knows he's going to die. Which he does, in the arms of Felina, his true love. Much like Walt returns to New Mexico and dies in the midst of the only thing left that he's devoted to -- a meth lab.

Aye Ready

From wiki - "The episode title, "Felina", is an anagram of the word "finale." It is also inspired by the character Feleena from the song "El Paso" by Marty Robbins, which is featured throughout the episode. The story of "El Paso" closely mirrors Walter White's character arc in the final season of Breaking Bad. Walt, who has become a notorious criminal, flees from Albuquerque, living as a fugitive. Despite this being a successful outcome in the context of the story, he finds himself increasingly isolated and dissatisfied. Because his desire for emotional closure outweighs his fear of capture and death, he is eventually driven to return to the scene of his crimes, where he finds the closure he seeks but ultimately meets his end. "El Paso" is on a Marty Robbins cassette in Walt's car, and is played during the episode. Additionally, Walt sings the song to himself while building his machine gun turret. The writers changed the subject's name from Feleena to Felina so that, when used as the title, it could serve as an anagram of finale." I've also seen people suggest that the word "Felina" can be made from these three chemical element symbols: Fe (Iron), Li (Lithium) and Na (Sodium) and that's why it was chosen. Blood (iron), meth (lithium) and tears (sodium). I think this is a case of the fandom reading too much into it though and not something the writers intended.

Honey Hermsen

I think in the Netherlands there are a couple of streets named after Lord of the Rings characters

Spencer

Ugh Mr. Robot would be so great at the same time BlindWave and James V. Cinema.

Rev

PLEASE add "Barely Legal Pawn" to the watch list to be watched with El Camino. It's a sketch on YouTube, 6:19 in length. I recommend it to any fan of Breaking Bad. It's not canon, just a fun, one-time sketch that is Breaking Bad adjacent.

JayF

I live in a tiny town in Utah, had to order a printer from Amazon for tax season purposes. They delivered it without a plain brown Amazon box around the manufacturer's box. So there was an obvious $250 printer sitting in front of my door for a few hours until I got home from work. So yeah, there are some places where people don't lock their doors, leave their car keys in the car, and generally feel safe where they live.

ChristianK

Hopefully we get The Bear in a poll next

Diiirk706

''El Camino'' is trash.

BigGuy209

I hope The Sopranos & Stranger Things is on the poll tomorrow. I know most people are gonna want to vote for Better Call Saul, but me personally I would like to take a break from the Breaking Bad world. I can’t wait to see there reaction to Black Mirror’s San Junipero episode it’s my favorite episode.

Jeff K

No, that can't be right. I have it on good authority that the state motto for Maryland is "It's all in the game"

MikeBdrx

I’m really hoping for Ash Vs Evil sometime this year. But if not I know at some point you’ll get around to it.

PIG

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Oh! Twin Peaks

UNC

BCS BCS!

Pat Poling

Walt 1) left his family almost $10M, 2) avenged Hank, 3) rescued Jesse, 4) died as Heisenberg

Brad Lowry

You guys in particular must hear comedian Jim Gaffigan's set performed in Canada about Canada...

Paul Davey

On the periodic table blood, sweat & tears is Fe, Li & Na. And yes, rearranging the letters to spell finale was also intentional.

PastaDon

Apologies, I don't comment much because I'm usually at work when you guys drop your videos, so I'm usually watching them 8 or 9 hrs later, and there's no point in adding another comment to the other 50 you guys have already read.. but if I can make a suggestion, about adding "The Bear" to one of your TV reaction polls.. I've watched a lot of tv and film, so it's pretty easy to recognize great writting when I see it, and this show has some of the best writing for complex characters I've seen in a while for a real world setting.. The premise is about Kitchen life in a restaurant, which is something you'll definitely connect with George.. I mean, who doesn't like food.. right!!

Brad Lowry

Best state moto/slogan (many states have both) is Breaking Bad's own New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment"

JayF

George be poopin' on poor kids who don't have cars to get to school. ;)

Justin Hunt

Please add Andor to the TV poll!

Carlos Hurtado

I think what makes the characters in these shows so great is the subtle details like with Todd picking the lint off of Lydias shirt.

Phillyman!!

The tv series Fargo HAS to be on the next poll. Straight up it’s awesome 👏

paul rai

Hoping you’re having Ozark show up on the poll. Such a great show!

JayF

Now that you've finished I will say that this show is my #1 all time favorite show. Perfect from start to finish with no weak spots IMO (yes, even the fly episode). I am not alone in my opinion as this letter from Anthony Hopkins to Bryan Cranston illustrates - Dear Mister Cranston, I've just finished a marathon of watching 'BREAKING BAD' – from episode one of the First Season – to the last eight episodes of the Sixth Season. A total of two weeks (addictive) viewing. I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant! Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen – ever. I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening bullshit in this business, and I've sort of lost belief in anything really. But this work of yours is spectacular – absolutely stunning. What is extraordinary, is the sheer power of everyone in the entire production. What was it? Five or six years in the making? How the producers (yourself being one of them), the writers, directors, cinematographers... every department – casting etc... managed to keep the discipline and control from beginning to the end is awesome. From what started as a black comedy, descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakespearian or Greek Tragedy. If you ever get a chance to – would you pass on my admiration to everyone – Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Aaron Paul, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Steven Michael Quezada – everyone – everyone gave master classes of performance... The list is endless. Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence. You and all the cast are the best actors I've ever seen. That may sound like a good lung full of smoke blowing. But it is not. It's almost midnight out here in Malibu, and I felt compelled to write this email. Congratulations and my deepest respect. You are truly a great, great actor. Best regards, Tony Hopkins

Brad Lowry

BTW, "Opie Dead-Eye F&ck", that is the actor, Jesse Plemons, was recently on Jimmy Kimmel talking Breaking Bad, Matt Damon and his new major role in a top tier Cannes Film Festival film "Kinds of Kindness" with Emma Stone.

Phillyman!!

Also The Shield is an amazing show. IMO my favorite series finale episode that I’ve ever seen 💯

Superpotroast

As much as I would like BCS to be the next show, I feel like for those who don't like the breaking Bad universe, that they should get a different show for a little while.. There are creators who get stuck in the Walking Dead shows for years, and I don't care for Walking Dead at all, and so I'm forced to leave their patronage until they move onto something else..

G P

Check out Peep Show before hitting BCS

streetduck

Baby Blue is just perfect song for that ending

Honey Hermsen

Simone is on point about Walt poisoning Lydia and George gaslights her again 😆

miniature

i dont think you understand what Gaslighting means... gaslighting would be if after the reveal, he tries to convince her its not true. before the reveal, its just call a conversation and sharing ideas. he even repeatedly said "yeah youre right!"

john blake

Here’s my chance to continue my lobbying for Deadwood again….🤣

Phillyman!!

Imo Walt’s ORIGINAL plan was to kill EVERYONE. Himself the gang and Jesse because he thought Jesse had the same relationship as Gus. Cook make your own hours and go home. But when he saw Jesse basically as a prisoner then he changed his mind. Might be a cold take but yea. Awesome episode and show 💯🔥

Philipp Roensch

Finally, we are here, grand finale! One of the most satisfying in my book, so well done. Yes, both episodes could work as a finale, one with the sad ending and one with the redemptive/revenge ending, you love to see the payoff though. In the previous to last episode, I think the sympathy through loneliness is build up, to make the words from Flynn hit harder - with that and seeing the interview Walt realizes he did not do this for his family, but himself (maybe he knew earlier). And of course in the finale, he also admits it to Skyler, who is quite gracious in still seeing him. Great plans from Walt there, still criminal, but just good "competence porn"^^. Banger of an ending song, too. Recommendation for the music reaction list I guess^^: from my favorite artist, a fan song for the show - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S31P1PZzkm0 Final thought: thank you both for that wonderful reaction and rewatch opportunity, it has been a blast!

Paul T Hewes

Better Call Saul is a superior product, compared to breaking bad. But its because the whole crew from Bad moved to Saul, and they had already made the mistakes and learned how to do tremendous TV. There was no learning curve with Saul. Also, Odenkirk is a great actor and they also brought in awesome new actors who rose to Jesse levels of acting.

Stugotz

My dad leaves his keys in his car, he lives in a pretty secluded area so he doesn't have any problems. He doesn't leave it in the visor, he just puts them in the cup holder.

Carlos Hurtado

Todd's death is my favorite death in the show it was so personal and cathartic, like you said. I couldn't think of a better death for him. I'm glad he wasn't shot or poisoned. I love that Jacks death was due to his own ego. He easily could have ended walt and Jesse right there but he had to prove he wasn't partnering with a "Rat".

Max Hassam

Thanks guys! Been a treat to watch this along with you! Look forward to tomorrow's poll :) About these episodes: New Hampshire is indeed the Granite State. But a "granite state" could also be used as a pun of "caught between a rock and a hard place" as Walt and Jesse are both in a state/situation that is grinding at them and is rough & rocky, like granite :D Even after all these rewatches I still get chills when the theme music comes in. The only time it was used during the actual show. Finale: I agree, Walt does sort of win. One of the final notes of the script is that Walt lies there dead but with a look of "faint satisfaction" on his face. Not only did he die before they could find him, they found him in a meth lab so will assume that all the blue meth that had continued to have been by Jesse since Walt fled was done by him. The legend will live on.

Brad Lowry

Todd's mustachioed buddy, Kenny, is Kevin Rankin, an actor I've liked in many smaller roles... in particular, you won't believe how vulnerable and sweet he is as a Pot Grower with Social Anxiety Disorder that needs to overcome said disorder to save his family in Season 2 Episode 2 of the show In Plain Sight.

JokerDanny

Please add Gotham and Peaky Blinders to the next TV poll. Peaky Blinders has 6 series and Gotham has 5 seasons.

Jeff K

He's also in Justified, which is another show that I'd love to see George and Simone watch sometime. And I mentioned how Jesse Plemons is a very different character in Friday Night Lights, and Kevin Rankin is terrific in that show as well.

Deadly Ramon

The vacuum cleaner / identity changing guy is played by Robert Forster, who you remember as the bail bondsman Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. You'll see more of Forster in the upcoming Breaking Bad spinoffs. The actor died at age 78 in October 11, 2019, the same day that El Camino was released.

Michael Robayo

"Prank calls involve jokes; crank calls involve long stories to trick the person being called."

Brad Lowry

As a little kid, I remember Public Service Announcement commercials to encourage people to NOT leave their keys in the ignition because otherwise good teenagers would be tempted to take the car for a Joy Ride that could end fatally... different times.

Actuarial Lurker

george and Simone: Without spoiling...Jesse drives of the compound in an El Camino- so the movie starts IMMEDIATELY after this episode....

Actuarial Lurker

El Camino is ALSO a pilgrimage in Spain dating back to the Middle Ages where Catholics endure hundred of miles of walking on dirt roads to a holy site to seek redemption

Efrain Zavala

If you're watching Black Mirror anyway, you could watch episode one of the 4th season, "USS Callister." Jesse Plemons (Todd) is in that one!

Jonah

I just watched a video where Jesse Plemons talked about how he came up with the character Todd. And basically the writers and directors didn't tell him ANYTHING about his character, from being a nobody who warned them about the camera working for the pest control, to someone who had a prominent roll who then had to kill a kid, he was so stressed going into filming that episode with NO background, NO direction, and NO notes, that he finally begged the director to give him something. And he sat him down and said this. "you know when a raccoon runs out in front of your car. And your choices are, go into the ditch and wreck your car, go into a head on collision, or just hit the raccoon. That's how this character rationalizes what he does." and with that, and no other notes, you get this happy go lucky, dead eyed, emotionless, but somehow jolly sociopath and psychopath. Which ended up making one of the best uncomfortable, unlikable yet somehow likeable villains, or rather just antagonist character I've ever seen. In a show that strives for realness, reality, and accuracy, I feel like the nailed that with Todd's character, a completely believable monster.

Stugotz

My favorite villain was the fly. It was the most realistic IMO.

Daniel Dawson

Thank you for sharing your reaction to what I consider to be the best content ever released in any form of media! Looking forward to Better Call Saul if/when it wins a poll.

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Wish we could have Hazbjn Hotel, it takes 2 weeks and could even take 1 week to complete it as how short the season and episodes are

TGrimace

Don't forget that Skyler knew all about Jesse and his involvement with Walt. Surely she talked to the cops about him, putting him on the seriously wanted list.

Aye Ready

Is it intentional? I thought it was something that the fandom came up with?

MR

ATTENTION: Now that you're done with the show, next livestream or something you have to react to "Breaking Bad - But no one is careful" by Alternative Cuts on Youtube. You HAVE TO. Trust me.

David Dotting

At the very least Better Call Saul is drastically different in terms of the story being told. The Walking Dead in basically every season past 2 is so formulaic you could copy and past most reactions to random episodes and not notice a ton of difference which makes it especially hard to enjoy if you're not a fan of the show.

8bitAndy

I could do with a break from the anti-hero genre. tbh, but with Sopranos, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Prison Break, and Better Call Saul being the shows I see recommended the most, I'm not sure if that break will be coming anytime soon. With sympathies for those who aren't fans of the BB universe, I think I'll be rooting for Better Call Saul to win the next poll. It's definitely on the lighter side for an anti-hero show, and is actually a pretty significant shift in tone from BB, while still being every bit as good.

Kogs

I really loved watch along you guys. Great show with great reactors :-) I want to take the chance to recommend two shows for the next poll. If not already on your list, I would recommend Mr. Robot and Ozark. Also looking forward for the next season of Black Mirror :-)

Prof. Writhms

May I suggest for the series poll...? "Fargo" (based on a true story... LOL) "Andor" (this may be the last great Star Wars... anything) "Ash vs. Evil Dead" (produced by Sam Raimi himself and awesome)

Zinphad

The car that Jesse left in was Todd's El Camino (he took Todd's keys for the cuffs).

neez duts

you know doctors watch youtube tutorials right? xD

Jeff K

George referring to Gus as the most entertaining villain to watch in the BB/BCS universe (I'm not going to argue against it, because Giancarlo Esposito is incredible), with me over here just thinking about a certain BCS villain... "Just you wait..."

Jeff K

I would LOVE to see them react to that; George in particular, since he has experience working in kitchens.

Ryan Skinner

Been an absolute delight to rewatch the series with you guys. Glad you enjoyed it so much! Signed, A dude from a state with a town called "Dickshooter"

Bill B.

If you ever watch the show Friday Night Lights, Jesse Plemons plays a good guy, who is actually quite funny. Also his Nazi uncle/cousin (dead guy in moving chair lol ) plays a good guy in that too.

clh35

Yes, you heard "crank call" and it's a thing. There are various explanations as to the difference, which I won't bore you with, but it's been around for a while. There was a show with puppets acting out real calls, called Crank Yankers.

clh35

New Jersey is the garden state, Simone, and the movie is based there. There's a difference between the state slogan and what's written on license plates, though. New Hampshire is indeed the granite state, but its slogan is live free or die. I grew up in Illinois, the land of Lincoln (meh).

Tim T—

Simone was asking about Huell at the beginning: In the runup to El Camino there was a countdown - Huell was shown in a video sitting in the motel room by himself, waiting. (Until he got fed up.)

tullius cicero

if Sopranos doesnt win the poll i send it back.

Jonah

I never knew this until I just looked it up. But FeLiNe is Iron(Fe)-Lithium(Li)-Sodium(Na). Iron represents blood, Lithium represents meth and Sodium represents salt(tears). So, Fe-Li-Na actually means Blood-Meth-Tears

Ste Rawlings

What Simone said about maybe it being Hank who liked purple is one of the saddest things.

Ian Tellam

At some point you should watch the best, multi-award winning TV show everyone seems to have forgotten about, and nobody ever reacts to - The Americans. Top 5 show of all time for me. Maybe top 2.

Moonman

Interesting pickup and theory by both of you with the purple

samuel Jakob

Such a great show, certaintly enjoyed the rewatch and your reaction to it. Its also kinda funny to see how numb the show made you guys, especially Simone, with Hanks death or also Andreas she seemed mostly just shocked were she usually gets more emotional about that stuff in movies that dont make you this used to fucked up shit happening. Also why dont u do the trivia stuff after you finish a show? Wouldnt that work as well? I always love the trivia stuff at the end of your movie reactions. On another note, I doubt it falls into your "bigshow" standart as you aready put it in the black mirror poll but I really hope you get around to Queens Gambit. Its one of my favorite shows and in my opinion Anya Taylor-Joys best performance.

james repka

In addition to being an anagram for finale, Feleena is a character in the song El Paso, sung by Marty Robbins that's playing on the tape player in the beginning of the episode, and by Walt when he is in the desert building his turret mechanism. The character arc of El Paso has connections to Walt's story, in that the singer commits several crimes (murder and horse theft) and runs off to the desert of New Mexico, but ultimately must return home (to Feleena and El Paso) and is killed by the authorities.

james repka

And season 2 of Fargo has what George requested: A great performance by Jesse Plemons (sometimes referred to as "Meth Damon") as, if not the good guy, at least a well-intentioned character reacting to circumstances beyond his control.

The scent of film and TV is all over this RUM. Smells like freaking tee ah WANNA

🖤Fun fact. Walt taking off his watch and leaving at the gas station was a scene where people speculated it's symbolism and what it meant. Vince Gilligan addressed it and it was sort of funny. It was to prevent a continuity issue. I think for the Denny's stuff being the first of "Walt on the run" scenes they shot, wardrobe forgot to give Brian Cranston the watch to wear and they realized it after. So they just added him taking the watch off for that scene so people wouldn't be like "where's his watch?" and all that kind of stuff. They just know he's not wearing it because he left it behind. Same with skylar's face being reflected in the microwave as she spoke with walt. People were like 'that was such a cool shot" and Vince Gilligan was like "Thanks, but it was a total accident, didn't even realize her face was reflected in the microwave until editing" LOL.

Arnie Cox

Felina is a character in the ballad "El Paso," the song Hank was singing while building his auto-turret. For anyone ancient enough to know this 1959 Billboard Hot 100 #1, this foreshadows Hank's demise, as both meet similar ends.

Deadly Ramon

There will be a lot of wide-eyed reactions when they start watching BCS. I look forward to seeing those soon.

Jay Davis

The Mountain State and "montani semper liberi" are pretty great, ngl

Jay Davis

Thanks for that... I was struggling trying to figure out what Iron, Lithium and Salt combined could possible make.

SEVERANCE PLEASE

p0sthum4n

It's pretty much required that having finished Breaking Bad you go on to Better Call Saul. In some ways it's an even better show. It's more of a slower-paced character study than Breaking Bad and it gets ✨really✨ good. That said, I'm once again throwing my hat in the ring for including The Sopranos on the poll. Vince Gilligan credited it with making "bad guy as protagonist" mainstream, saying "without Tony Soprano, there would be no Walter White." I also particularly love seeing how non-Americans take it because the first few seasons are a slice of Americana that no longer exists and probably never will again, the pre-9/11 days before the entire country went nuts forever, and the show has undergone a bit of a renaissance in the last few years because a bunch of younger millennials and Gen Z kids watched it for the first time during lockdown and found the theme of "getting in at the end", missing the glory days, etc. very relatable.

Martin

Two series I hope you put on the next poll: The Sopranos Dexter

Khan1001

its been a treat watching this show again with you, look forward to El Camino, which picks up right where the show ends if I remember correctly, it should have been a mini series but they turned it into a movie, I think BCS will win the poll but I wouldn't mind The Sopranos or Yellowstone if that's on the poll?, I know some people want Dexter, I used to love that show but the last couple of seasons really declined in writing, story and the ending was GOT level bad, both times!

Logan Kerlee

Super enjoyed watching this series with you both! Had a ton of fun throughout. I've now watched all of Breaking Bad twice plus a bunch of random episodes again and again. Overall, amazing show. Looking forward to El Camino next week. :) I've watched that once so it'll be the most fresh out of everything Breaking Bad, for me at least. Very happy that you both really enjoyed Breaking Bad! I'm not super pumped for Better Call Saul but I'll still be happy to watch it, if it wins. :)

OldBeardedGuyReacts

Some stuff I'm hoping made the list: Severance, Silo, Ozark, Lost (although I'm assuming you've seen it), Mayor Of Kingstown, 3 Body Problem (it boggles my mind that you guys didn't watch this like you did with Fallout)

Darin Foat

There are other shows that I like better for sentimental reasons. But I can't think of another series that set up and paid off all of its story threads as perfectly as this one. This is just a masterpiece of a final episode.

Mr. Treat

Only show I can foresee beating Better Call Saul is The Sopranos.

J. Valentine

If it goes against BCS, it probably is not gonna win. but I really hope they get to that one eventually. Actually, I really hope people know that show for it to get a lot of votes.

J. Valentine

Better Call Saul, Severance, Dark, Blue eye samurai. If any of these wins, then we win too. You guys better vote for a good one :(

J. Valentine

Actually, Blue eye samurai isn't a "big" show. But I saw it recently and it was soo good

UNC

Better Call Saul, Succession or the Sopranos 🙏

zak

Felina Fe-Iron: prominent in blood, Li-Lithium: A metal used in the equipment of cooking meth Na- Sodium: Prominent in tears, so Blood, Meth, Tears, and of course it's also an anagarm of Finale.

jdupre7877

And then the story picks back when Brock and the red head kid that Jesse freed become partners cooking and selling meth, restarting the cycle.

Jeff K

I've only watched El Camino once, when it first came out. Looking forward to revisiting it myself. I only remember bits and pieces but thought it was overall a decent finale for Jesse.

Dan Holmes

Garden State is New Jersey and yes a great movie you should definitely check out :)

Jeff K

The great Robert Forster. He's so good in this role, even if it feels extremely similar to Max. I completely forgot he died the same day that El Camino debuted.

Green Nolan

"the wire" "breaking bad" and "the sopranos" are considered the "trilogy" of the greatest shows of all time. I really want you guys to watch "better call Saul" But I also kind of want you guys to finish the: "Trilogy of best shows during the golden age of television" The sopranos is kind of the"granddaddy" of them all too. It was the first show that said: "Why can't television be made like a movie?"

Eric Haines

If i would ever "The Haunting of Hill House", or "The OA" on a poll, jeepers 🙏

JoeE

I got a kick out of Todd’s ring tones, Thomas Dolby and Lydia the tattooed lady. Also, people who knew Jesse plemmons from Friday night lights were really thrown by seeing him as todd

Lamest: The Show Me State. Coolest: The Lone Star State.

My second favorite show of all time. The writing and acting are superb in this show. Maybe the best. Vince Gilligan did a brilliant job of having a concept and idea throughout the series. Thank goodness he didn't try to stretch this out int 10 seasons. Short and sweet. Not a hot take but Bryon Cranston likely the greatest character and acting of any show. Aaron Paul was incredible. Probably the ensemble has to be the best or top 3 at worst. Sooo? I'm that person. The ending might have been too neat for me. Giving Walter redemption is what most shows would have done.

I thought the question of "Breaking Bad or The Wire?" might have come up in the outro. Come on G & S, think it over for next week and we'll start a real war in the El Camino comments section:)

Jay

I really liked BCS (not as much as BB) but if The Sopranos, Succession, Fargo or any other great show is on the poll, they'll be getting my vote.

Sd D

Deadwood never gets enough love as one of the greatest shows ever made.

When people wonder about Todd, the thing that comes to my mind is that he's EARNEST. He always means what he says, he always does what he thinks is the right thing to do in any situation. And that's what's so unnerving about him, because it means that he really doesn't think that the stuff he does is bad or understand why others wouldn't agree with him. Him bringing Jesse ice cream wasn't a deliberate manipulation, at that moment he honestly thought "Jesse did good today, I'll give him ice cream as a reward". Him killing Andrea wasn't him looking for an excuse to scratch his serial-killer itch, he just thought that that was what he needed to do to get Jesse in line. Throughout the entire season, in every appearance he's just a guy doing what he thinks needs to be done. And that's what's so unsettling and wrong about him. I'll be voting for "Better Call Saul" on the poll for the next show. I'm sure I mentioned this before in other comments, but I've never felt that "Breaking Bad" was THE BEST SHOW EVER. It's certainly a good show, I enjoyed rewatching along with you, but despite individual moments of excellence I only hover at just "pretty good". But I honestly believe that "Better Call Saul" deserves all of the accolades that people throw at this show. That one IS one of the BEST SHOWS EVER. I had so much more investment in the characters, and story, and how it interwound with this show. But having said that, I'll throw out another recommendation for "The Good Place". Maybe as the short/funny show to break up a longer, serious series. That is also one of the BEST SHOWS EVER, and I think you two would be absolutely FASCINATED by it.

Prof. Writhms

This is why I recommended: "Andor", "Ash vs. Evil Dead" and "Fargo". Fargo is a different story with different characters every season so they can stick other series in between if they like. Ash and Andor are both short.

dys

Suggesting Bojack Horseman for next big show. Even though it's ostensibly a (outrageously funny) comedy, it's really just as much a drama, with all the great character study and social commentary of Breaking Bad or The Wire. Aaron Paul is one of the stars, mildly amusing coincidence that he plays a character named Todd there while Todd here is played by a Jesse.

Dustin Duvall

Too many comments, apologies if this is a repeat. General consensus is prank call is more light hearted, crank call is more hostile and antagonizing

Trevor S Bright

Marie knew about Jesse. So she presumably told the DEA that he was Walt's partner since he was staying at her & Hank's place.

Jason Puhalla

Felina, is a character in the Marty Robbins song El Paso. Thats the song in the escape vehicle..

Dan Holmes

Felina is from the song in the intro El Paso, listen to the lyrics, the show follows them closely, in it's own way

Angzarr

The ricin has to be the Chekov's Gun with the longest delayed payoff ever!

John

I would recommend for the poll, The Good Place, Person of Interest, Fringe, Marco Polo, or Narcos

Bob Steger

I second your call for Succession. It's almost Shakespearean in its twists and familial backstabbing. Brian Cox and everyone does such a great job. My favorite is cousin Greg!

What about - What We Do In The Shadows for the TV series. It's comedy but maybe you need some lighthearted stuff after BB and Black Mirror

Vwlss Nvwls

I always assumed that showing the latter part of a story first is more about grabbing the audience attention, so the rest of the time your mind is wondering "how does this get to what we saw first?" It is not so much about the fact that the tension is at all removed, but more about keeping your attention for that wonder.

Pajander

It's kinda funny how hard the show had to go having literal chaotic evil nazis as the bad guys, just so we'd hate someone more than Walt. But the ending works, so I'll allow it.

Anthony Villena

I liked Gus/cartel as antagonists the most because they were the most developed. I agree with Jack's gang being the most realistic. Their mannerisms and speech patterns were just like some neo-Nazis that I've met irl.

Jonathan M.

Ozark great show to put on a poll

Michele

Better Call Saul! Jesse Plemmons is great in Game Night.

Vwlss Nvwls

When Walt is seeing Holly for the last time, I am always reminded of the best line from Conan the Barbarian, delivered by Max Von Sydow (RIP) as King Osaric. "There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle. When gold loses it's luster. When the throne room becomes a prison. And all that is left, is a father's love for his child."

Vwlss Nvwls

Walt most certainly let his ego drive him, and that was Heisenberg. But Walter White did it for his family. It is just that as time went on, the more he did, the more Heisenberg took over. In the end, he did what he did as Walter White, and conceded to the fact that he liked being Heisenberg.

Vwlss Nvwls

Just a heads up for El Camino, and no spoilers. You will notice right away how different people look, because so much time passed between this episode and the movie. Just please get over it quickly, and forget about it. Do not let it keep coming up and driving your opinion of the movie. Just enjoy the story.

Kevin

You guys will LOVE Better Call Saul. Not sure if it will be next but its gotta happen sometime. Absolutely astounding show.

Justin

The title for the finale is intricate- as for the periodic table FeLiNa, is iron, lithium and sodium. Iron is in blood, lithium in meth and sodium in tears. Felina is an anagram for finale. Its also the name of the woman in the song that Walt hums when he builds a robot in the desert. When Walter was hanging over that crib, saying goodbye to his daughter for the last time Skyler could have had some kind of change of heart about him. In the closing scene of 0504, 'Fifty-One' Walter tells Skyler she will change her mind about him. If there ever was a moment it was here imo. Something a lot of people overlook is Walter took out so many people in the drug business that you could say he positively effected it in that regard. Also Gretchen & Elliot spoke on Charlie Rose about their 28 million dollar charity grant announcement for drug abuse treatment centers in the south west that would have never been possible without Walter. Walter builds a robot in the desert to save Jesse & his family which is a call back to 4 Days Out when Jesse suggests building a robot to save them from the desert- 4 Days Out is Aaron Paul's favorite episode from the series. Speaking of the desert theme for the entirety of the show. Walt's own bullet taking him out feels almost biblical in how only Jesus himself could take his life at crucifixion like how Walter gets shot in his side. The lab's skeleton form crosshairs over Walter in that final frame (the lab representing an extension of Walter himself). Walter even mentions Gretchen & Elliot's view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Spanish for "Blood of Christ") in this episode. Walt saying a prayer in the opener points in this direction as well. Walter- Mr. Lambert is wearing khaki as a call back to his wardrobe from the pilot, his dress pants from the opening scene & Ozymandias with a green shirt for Breaking Bad / the show's periodic table and the inside of his jacket being blue, for well, you know. The show as a whole is lightning in a bottle. Watching it is like watching perfection playout on screen, every episode. It's almost surreal. There's no better fictional character that has more depth, a greater character arc and superior acting than Bryan Cranston's Walter H. White. They encapsulate the development and metamorphosis of a character with redeeming qualities along the way, so well & so seamlessly that it changes everything else you watch following it. It really is like the perfect drug- the 99.1% pure storytelling. Breaking Bad was released at the perfect time imo between the over all production quality in general, the music at the time, the financial crash of 2008 and for being one of the last politically incorrect shows. Imo no other series even comes close to BB when you really go through it with a fine-tooth comb. It is exceptional and in a league of its own. Anthony Hopkins, after completing Breaking Bad wrote Bryan Cranston a letter stating his acting was the best he's seen – ever.

REDR58

Nice reaction, Simone and George. It was a fun journey as this was a first-time watch for me.

Brian Sittler

What a ride. It was a pleasure & well done Simone spotting the ricin the quickest I’ve ever seen!

jackthegent

it was a fun journey guys. loved your reactions. I feel like Better Call Saul would be better if you guys took a little bit of a break from the breaking bad world and watched a different show first but if you decide to watch it I'll be along for the ride as well.

Brian Sittler

From New Mexico to New Hampshire and back.

Rob Church

Will we be getting the full length and edited version of El Camino at the same time?

Ryan Mitchell

Loved the Breaking Bad reactions. Like most people, I also loved Better Call Saul and thought it was nearly the equal of Breaking Bad in terms of overall quality. But I agree with the commenters who prefer taking a break and doing something different next. My first choice would be The Americans, and second choice would be Mad Men. We shall see…

RLYtoxic

Same, I hope they get around to Ash vs Evil Dead. I'm sure they will get around to it one day.

Travis H

Loved rewatching Breaking Bad with you two, I didn’t realize how much of the first three seasons I forgot. I will say that I am in the minority and am not the biggest fan of the series finale. It’s fine but that’s as far as I’ll go (the Skylar scene was fantastic though). My big issue is that pretty much everything went right for Walt the entire episode. Nothing ever goes 100% according to plan on this show so the entire episode feels like this big hero fantasy redemption arc for Walt, and I don’t think it’s deserved. He was the cancer for every character on the show and ruined/ended everyone’s lives, I personally wanted the cancer to kill him. I still think it’s a great show though. What I would like on the next poll is Bojack Horseman, The Good Place and most importantly LOST (even though I know it would NEVER win the poll).

I live in a neighborhood north of Los Angeles. It's the suburbs, but very safe, and I visited family across the country for months. A neighbor tracked me down online to tell me I had packages on my front step for weeks, and would I like him to hold them in his house until I returned. I brought him a nice gift when I got back weeks later for helping me out, but no one stole the packages, clearly visible from the road, for weeks!

Gary Fixler

Same, and I just really love Stranger Things. I'm always more interested in 80s + Sci-Fi than modern + lawyer stuff, even if BCS is great.

Gary Fixler

I'm from the Garden State, and it's also a 2004 dramedy starring Zack Braff and Natalie Portman, which I've never seen. I'm from South Jersey, as we all called it there, and if you zoom in on Google Maps, you'll see the entire south is farms. I'm from Vineland, in the central south, a fairly large city, but if you go there and look around, you'll see it's entirely flanked by hundreds of farms, and the whole southwest is dense with them. The produce there is amazing. Gigantic peaches, tomatoes, tons of cranberry bogs, etc. I grew up with constant, fresh, amazing produce throughout the year, which is probably why I take it all for granted now, and am addicted to fast food crap.

Tim R

Lamest state nickname: Ohio, the Buckeye State. They chose their nickname after a tree nut lmao.

Gary Fixler

I doubted, but then I watched part 1, and it's so well done! I also stumbled into "W.W - But Hank keeps guessing wrong names" 😆

Gary Fixler

Most CB patrons fail the strawberry test. They want all their favorite stuff NOW, no thought to the future. Space it out, folks! You eat all your ice cream (Better Call Saul) now, all you'll have going forward is Brussels sprouts (Birdemic 2).

Athenor

Great finale and thanks for all the reactions. Better call saul is a masterpiece and I can't wait to watch along with you. If you want a palette cleanser show take it.Im in no hurry but it can be helpful to go fresh to catch references and it's not a spoiler to tell you that BCS starts each season with a flash forward making the show both a prequel and an epilogue Thanks again for all your hard work and consistency with shows ❤️ p.s. Simone will find out in BCS she could have a career as a squat cobbler

BangDroid

There's a suburb in Melbourne, Australia called Batman, named for Australian grazier John Batman. Melbourne itself was almost named Batmania at one point.

Justin Leone

George: "Garden state. That sounds a lot nicer than the granite state." Ohhhh George... I mean, not to say New Jersey doesn't have its charming spots... And there are definitely plenty of states that I'd choose NJ over. But it's very rare to hear it called "a lot nicer than" anywhere it's being compared to.

Tom M

I think theres no dvd because of that scene where you see Hanks house tossed. Awesome reactions! Was very fun. I voted for Succession cuz I’d like to see smart people react to it and the reactions I’ve seen are annoying. But I’m fine with BCS or a few on that poll. Thanks.

Nick Kessler

El Camino is the pick up car he drove away in.

Hunterrim

Jesse Plemons plays a pretty like able and innocent character in Fargo season 2. (Also you should consider watching that show 😄)

Ampersander7

Vacuum guy is Robert Forster. You saw him in Jackie Brown, probably.

Michael

Skyler and Walt are such trash. Even after they got Hank killed, every move they make is selfish. Treating Mary like a joke. Doing performance art to get Skyler off during that taped phone call. While Mary was mourning her dead husband that day! Walt waited months to give someone the coordinates to Hank’s body and it’s to Sky as a bargaining chip? Terrorizing Gretchen and Elliot to get blood money. Glad there’s an El Camino so I can be satisfied with the ending to this story. I hate that Walt and Skyler won
