Content

1. Please do not recommend anymore music for now, we are working off of the 1000+ suggestions from the request post a few days back. Not every thing on there is new to us. So no, it will not take hundreds of videos to go through all of them not to mention there were also duplicates.
Here is the spreadsheet of all that was suggested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PT9KJjbLy0J8tbjT8tUbd__3NFL7nft8N-WafH5hX5Q/edit?usp=sharing

2. This is not a surefire thing yet, we are experimenting to see if it feels right and natural for us. If it works out and people like it, we will be recording in this format for the patreon version, multiple songs and videos in 1 big clip, then chop them up into smaller videos for YT upload on a second channel, so as to not risk the primary one.

3. The reason we are showing the entire song/clip on here but not movies/tv with our usual content is because this video is uploaded onto Patreon directly and not YT. There for no auto scanning bots. However, unlike YT, Patreon has a low data limit of 500 GB video. If we're using it for our usual content of 4 uploads a week, we would run out of space in under half a year. Where as if this content does become a permanent fixture, the frequency will likely be closer to once a month or more.

bruh literally the first sentence in the description asked you to not do what youre doing.

NotlobParrot

My wife performed at a Concert with him in Atlantic City back in the Early 90's. Said he was both amazing and somehow, also, just a person? A singular person.

Lola Lirola

At the Pavarotti video, you can see his face at the end when he realizes he f*cking nailed it, and even he almost can't believe how incredible it was. It was almost an athletic feat, like watching Simone Biles do a perfect dismount.

Gabriel Garza

Yes, yes yes! More of this. I know you said in your notes not to add but since you asked in the video, my favorite Foo Fighters is Everlong. Ren is an independent artist and is a rabbit hole worth going into. I’m a HUGE classical music fan so there’s a ton of options out there with Pavarotti, I would also look at Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who unfortunately passed away too young, doing Figaro live. There are others or some crossovers like Dimash Qudaibergen doing SOS live. It’s phenomenal. I would also maybe look at NF if he’s not already on your list, he deals with a lot of the same topics Ren does using his real life to connect with others.

Diiirk706

ren is sohhhhhh Fkn overrated...sigh

Greg Bell

You've been doing some trivia for the movie reactions, what about checking out Wikipedia for a bit of background for bands that are new to you.

Henrik Eriksson

This drops at twenty past one AM. I am SO happy right now I have a cold and took the day off tomorrow. Looking forward to their reaction to Jinjer - Pisces. One of my favourite songs the last few years, and it has so many reactions on YouTube already, but this'll be special.

Greg Bell

Elvis's 68 comeback special was after he had been doing military service. "Evil" is a fantastic song from that concert

Dustin Duvall

I'm happy yall are still considering this. I'd still recommend not putting these on YouTube, for the sake of your sanity. If you decide to keep going, maybe put it at a higher patreon tier as an incentive to upgrade

PastaDon

RIP Taylor!!

Wazz

You guys heard "head over heels" during the slow motion scene in Donnie Darko.

Jason McCloud

Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice (on YouTube) has an awesome interview with Tatiana you should check out sometime

MikeBdrx

Are you still going through and adding to the spread sheet? As I searched for my suggestions and did not find them.

Timothy Cole

I can go pretty deep on the music recommendations. Though I shall refrain.

Erik Lepe

Was supposed to see Jinjer a couple years ago, but then the war in Ukraine started so they backed out if the festival. They are on the line up for this year's and I'm so happy to get another chance!

james lee

Yes yes yes ren is beyond amazing

Diiirk706

Also wish they'd let the vids play all the way to the end...

Nathan Jasper

Yes, the Elvis movie with Austin Butler is downright perfection. Austin literally became Elvis

MikeBdrx

Thank you. I see you've heard Whole Lotta Rosie. Bet it rocked the shit outta you lol.

miniature

? are they not? every song im watching so far is to the end. literally the suggestions to next video is on screen.

Rob Wolf

Elvis’s 68 Comeback was a TV special that marked his return to performing. From 58-60, he served in the US Army in Germany. Then when he got back, his manager, Tom Parker, had him doing a string of dumb movies throughout the 60s. Meanwhile, the Beatles conquered America. And, in 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy were assassinated within weeks of each other and the Vietnam war raged. Elvis wanted to end his special with a meaningful song. His sponsors wanted him to end the special with a Christmas song. He did this instead! After the special, he was back big time, sold out a string of shows and started wearing the jumpsuits!

Rob Wolf

And yes, watch the Austin Butler Elvis movie. Tom Hanks as Tom Parker kinda bugs, but it’s a well told story that’s largely historically accurate.

Jordan Barnes

I understand now why Jinjer is recommended on Rush “2112” reactions.

Pam Nail

I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard other Tears for Fears songs. Some of their big hits are "Shout," "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," "Mad World" and "Sowing the Seeds of Love." I never saw Pavorotti himself, but I did see the opera Turandot at the Met in NYC.

James Wilson

Wow. The Songs of Cinebinge was amazing. Fantastic work Jakey.

chazzmania13

If I understand correctly Ren's video for the song was shot in one take which makes it even more remarkable.

Henrik Eriksson

Just to be clear, Tatiana does have some ...thing... on her voice in this video. It's very subtle, and I don't notice it at all compared to her live performance, but I did talk to a studio-tech about this video, and she noticed it immediately and pointed out what to listen for ( a few years back though, so I don't remember the specifics). She even gave the most plausible make and model used for it. I'm not a music guy at all, so I don't know what it is. It's not distorting her voice in anyway though.

TOGFather

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in the UK Pavarotti's profile exploded when the BBC used a recording of him singing Nessun Dorma as the theme music for their coverage of the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

chazzmania13

And your reaction to the Ren song is pretty universal George, you hear it and then struggle to describe it because it's the audio version of an emotional gut punch.

Bennett Holleman

Elvis left active army service in 1960. The comeback special was meant to refresh his popularity after years of bad movies and increasing competition from younger acts. And the name of that song is Trouble.

Jay Davis

So glad you reacted to that specific performance of Nessun Dorma. When he inhales and furrows his brow at the end, it rips my heart out every time. I never got a chance to see him perform when he was alive. The only opera I've ever been to is Die Zauberfloete but it was well worth it.

dys

The main thing I notice in the studio version is there's some double-tracking, both some harmonies on her clean singing and doubling on the growls. But it's not in most of the song.

dys

Pavarotti was absolutely a household name especially in the 90s even for people who knew nothing else about opera, I don't think there's a single opera singer in at least the past century who achieved anywhere near his fame. My dad is a huge fan of opera and classical music in general, he saw Pavarotti perform in San Francisco in the early 70s before he was well known in the US and said he knew from then that he would be huge.

Richard Flores

Would a lyric review and analysis help at all to fill time after the video ends? Read all the lyrics and talk about how the song theme ties together, especially if there is an accompanying music video? Maybe something like that? Just a question of if it would help. I didn't get that far into the reaction. I had to go and watch "Hi Ren" for the first time.

jose giron

Lol that's a big ass list 😂😂

GhostCat

A shortened version (about 2/3 as long) of "Head Over Heels" is very prominently featured in Donnie Darko, so it already existed somewhere in the recesses of George's mind even if he didn't recognize it.

Brian Sittler

I noticed a small misspelling on the list. The Smashing Pumpkins song is called “Drown” but on this list it says “Down”. So please add the R. Thanks for doing this I’m enjoying it!

Terry Yelmene

The Songs of Cinebinge music edit compilation - GREATEST - THING - EVER!!!!

Nathan Jasper

You guys have officially made it....you've been autotuned! LOL That compilation was everything. Thank you to whoever made that! Great reactions, I look forward to the next batch!

Alex Ch

Who knows what things fret and stir within the recesses of George’s mind?

Alex Ch

Got three of my five recommendations into the spreadsheet. Considering how many songs are in it, seems like plenty.

Bennett Holleman

You guys should watch John Carpenter's TV movie starring Kurt Russell as Elvis. It will answer all of your questions.

SpankTheMonk

What is interesting is there are many music reaction channels that show full videos in small in screen versions on YouTube that have been doing it for years. I wonder if they don’t monetize and just use Patreon? 🤷‍♂️

FWPJR.

Oh I see “Closer” by NIN is on there lol I really hope that reaction happens soon because I’m sure it’ll be great and probably funny. It’s a great song from a really great band though, whoever suggested that thank you

Senec

@1:17:00 I'm a child of the 80s, so... kindergarten

FWPJR.

Thank you, thought I was the only one. I have nothing against the guy but the concept of that song has been done so many times and done better than his. I’ve tried listening to his other songs and they’re just not it for me. But I think we are in the minority when it comes to him and his music

Senec

Also, while this is a total bop from Tears for Fears, I've always loved their megahit "Everybody Wants To Rule The World".

Drew Acheson

I love you guys. You did physically hurt me with the sentence "I've never heard of Tears for Fears" though. But I forgive you.

Richard Wakeling

FYI, the radio still doesn't play Ren's music. Yet last year, his latest album debuted at number one in the UK. The power of Ren! A genius and versatile artist.

Grand Moff Slackin'

I love it when people react to NIN but I wish they wouldn’t chose Closer. It’s one of my favs but it’s one song in a concept album meant to be listened to as a whole. So pulling the song out by itself takes away some meaning, imo. Happy to see it either way tho.

Grand Moff Slackin'

Small tech issue. On the iPad app there is no audio with the video. I’m assuming it’s an app issue but just an fyi.

FWPJR.

That’s very true, but there’s a bunch of other NIN songs on their song list. So they’ll definitely be doing more, I just love watching “closer” reactions because of the video and the lyrics. A lot of reactions to it are hilarious lol

John W Foster

I know you didn't want more music recomendations, but the Foo Fighters actually released a movie during the pandemic - Studio 666 (2022). It's very Evil Dead 2.

Jon Hoover

And that is why Elvis is my favorite singer/performer of all time. I am a HUGE Elvis fan. There is nobody better. An American Trilogy is absolutely my favorite Elvis song.

Chris Truex

I love that Jinjer made that video for Pisces to show off Vlad's drumming (he had just joined the band), and instead it became a billion people's intro to Tatiana. (Vlad's drumming is fantastic, though)

Sean Barbante

I just looked at that spreadsheet. Man, that's a lot. I found my suggestions, but noticed one was left off the list. It was an Electric Six song. I saw another one of their songs was listed and it might have been skipped because it might have been thought as a duplicate.

Victor Fiegel

Y'all should watch "Elvis" (2022). It's entertaining as hell, and it gives some context to that song.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Caught a little of this while on work break (will finish up this evening) but glad y’all are working this format into rotation because it’s a fun thing to watch develop in real time.! The Elvis performance is breathtaking in the words of philosopher Keanu Reeves 🤩

Markus H

I see Foo Fighters Everlong (Acoustic) on the list. Please, please do the original music video first, not the acoustic version as your first listen to this song. They are totally different versions. Maybe you can do a doudle feature, first listen to/watch the original music video (which is great) and then the acoustic version.

Matt

Head Over Heals plays in my head every time I see Simone doing a reaction. Just kidding...maybe.

Sara Something

Some ideas of topics to discuss during these to lengthen the conversations: would love to hear your thoughts on the lyrics and visuals in the vids. Some of my fav music reactors go into their interpretations and what they get out of the lyrics etc. just ideas. Also, I’m writing this very early in the reaction so you might do that further into the vid.

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Watch Elvis, Across the Universe, Sing Street, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Bohemian Rhapsody and Bandslam to enjoy good music while watching a movie

Corabal

Who else nominated Lorde and Muse?

djKENTO

found my recommendations in the spread sheet... neato!

HUGO TORRES

I love the music reactions maybe start another patreon just for the music id gladly pay to see more of this

Zhivko Yakimov

A very spot on description of what happened, he was more or less absent from live performance for almost a decade. He did release songs as part of his movie career, but only as soundtracks, if I recall correctly.

Raven Dark

Before I forget to say this (and I only point it out because George asked us to), I think you guys have the song I Am Not A Vampire twice on the spreadsheet. I forget who it's by, and it would take too long to look through them again, but I think it's the same version. I read through the whole thing, and that was the only duplicate I noticed. And holy wow, that's a long-ass list. Almost everything I would have recommended is on it. I will make sure to give my recommendations the next time you guys ask, because this was FUCKING AWESOME! Sorry, I'm usually a little more reserved, but I didn't know how else to get across how great this was. There are so many things I wanted to say, and now I can't remember half of them. But let's start with, yes, yes, more of these. So much more. Hi Ren - Yep, George. Yep, yep, yep. Elvis - I got a lot of years on you two, I like a lot of The King's music, and yet I'd never heard that one before. *shameface* When George started the intro for Jinger, I didn't recognize the song title or the band name, so even though I saw a reaction to it a while back, I didn't know what it was. I kept trying to figure out why George was prepping Simone so much for it. Then the video started, and I was so excited for Simone to react to her switching to Screamo. That was a cool reaction. And the Cinebinge video. Haha, that was so good. If you guys ever have a Hi Ren moment and start doubting how good you are, watch that again. No one puts that much effort into something unless you are truly exceptional. You are here, guys. Do you see what you have become? Congratulations. Enjoy the journey.

djKENTO

You might associate Elvis with singing to soldiers because he was drafted into the army in the late 50s and served for like 4 years. There's footage of him in uniform and stuff.

Rooster Aleution

One thing you can do George and Simone is to look up the song lyrics and read them during the reaction or before / after the song. Some top notch music reactors to check out are for how they operate are: Lost in Vegas, Airplay Beats, The Charismatic Voice, and Doug Helvering. Just a note that some of the music videos from the 80's and 90's were made into mini movies that distracted from hearing the songs too much IMO.

RLYtoxic

Talk about saving the best for last, Ohh My God. That was the type of video, I didn't know I needed.

Andrew T

The "oh my god" section of the last song resulted in semantic satiation. Yes, I learned that from Ted Lasso.

Andrew T

You may not realize this, but the last bit of commentary after that last song could be several measures of the next magnum opus.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Been an Elvis freak since I was 7 and part of a school line dance routine that was to the tune of either “Don’t Be Cruel” or “All Shook Up” (can’t remember which). It’s lovely seeing people explore beyond the typical 50s moments. I have some issues with the Baz Luhrmann film but would still recommend it as a crash course to his greater life story. Also hope y’all watch “Lilo & Stitch” as to me, it acts almost like an epilogue to his many celebrated experiences in Hawaii, as well as being a fantastic Disney movie.

Scott Greene

"Head Over Heels" was used prominently in the movie Donnie Darko. I believe that you've seen it. Something very similar happened to me from what George described, about meeting the woman working in the restaurant. I walked into a shop one afternoon, and the girl behind the counter was an absolute stunner. I had to lean on something because I was worried that I might faint. Honestly, one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen in person. I worked up the nerve to ask to take her photo, which she agreed to (I said something like, "Just taking pictures of all the beautiful sights" etc). I then got the pictures developed (this was the 90s, no digital cameras yet), and I got her photo FRAMED and then came bag to the shop where I presented it to her as a gift. Unfortunately, she wasn't single...she'd been with her boyfriend for seven years at that point. Can't say I was surprised.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Hoping to get some of my teeth knocked out to Jinger later this year! Was initially more interested in catching the supporting acts but I’ve been getting more into Jinger as of late, so should be fun all around.

Scott Greene

There is a clip on youtube of Pavarotti performing this same piece...as a duet with Michael Bolton. Just watch it, I think you'll find it very funny.

Karen Leah Quinn

We had a surplus of chimps in the 80s, they were always getting into places they didn't belong!

Ian Forbes

George & Simone, you probably know more Tears for Fears than you realize for sure. Their song Mad World was slowed down and covered by Gary Jules in the film Donnie Darko. Also, their song Everybody Wants to Rule the World was a huge hit. Both would make great reactions (and maybe do the double feature of theirs and Gary Jules’ versions of Mad World for a compare/contrast reaction).

Sckmnky

That Patreon Vid at the end was hilarious and the person who made it put so much effort in. They really are talented and have a great sense of humor. I stopped the video and listened to head over heels about 5 times and added it to my playlist. I can't wait until music submissions are back up. I missed the first time.

Spacedone

Happy to see that GUNSHIP's 'When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies' has made The List. It's not only a very good song but the music video is basically a fun test of your knowledge of 80s movies.

Happy Hanukkah

And those songs were generally not considered to have much artistic merit, including by Elvis himself. "After Presley heard the [If I Can Dream' demo], he proclaimed: 'I'm never going to sing another song I don't believe in. I'm never going to make another movie I don't believe in'."

Mastervodo

I can SO relate (when I was younger) to George's story about being infatuated with someone you see, and thinking about them constantly, thinking, re-thinking and overthinking it, trying to muster the courage to approach them. I'm sure many men have those kinds of stories. Kinda surprised Simone hasn't experienced that, but then again, maybe Simone is one who is just meant to illicit that kind of reaction.

sol stapleton

You guys should watch studio 666 it stars the foo fyters

RandomNevermind

Checked the file. No songs suggested by me in it. Kinda sad.

Happy Hanukkah

17:14 How about: "Sometimes I can just listen to a song, and it gets me so horny"? :-P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzyzvr1Nyjk&t=962s 17:53 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYpx8oDMQBU 18:25 "I obviously heard of Elvis." I'm impressed. His movies of the late '50s and '60s were successful, but he hardly established himself as a great actor. I'm surprised that your young'uns' cinematic memory goes back that far! You presumably associate Elvis with an older era because his most iconic clips are black and white ones from the Ed Sullivan Show, early in his career. (And he did serve in the US Army in Germany, 1958-1960. (Obviously well past the war, duh.)) If I Can Dream is generally considered to have been informed by the MLK and RFK assassinations. Regarding Pavarotti, back in 1982 someone had the brilliant (?!) idea to build a movie around him. The result was the musical romcom "Yes, Giorgio" in which Pavarotti plays a [drumroll] opera singer!!! Unsurprisingly, the best part of the movie by far is the singing, foremost this amazing rendition of Nessun Dorma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_hLh4qCqpg&t=230s

Allen Pass

I've got an amazing recommendation for the next music poll. It's right up George's alley and Simone will love the suspense as well. It's about Odysseus... that's all I'm going to say!

Happy Hanukkah

"Please do not recommend anymore music for now" I shall get around this fascistic command by truthfully affirming that I am not requesting a reaction, but rather *highly* recommending this cover/version of "I'm Too Sexy" (exclusively) to anyone who has any fondness for the original by Right Said Fred: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST0mPRx6VVQ (None of my suggestions are in the spreadsheet. I suppose this serves me right for having cheated. (And I would probably "adjust" my suggestions anyhow.))

Stephanie

Yes, please watch Elvis with Austin Butler. He was great in it.

Stephanie

You may know Nessun Dorma from Paul Potts, who's performance at Britain's Got Talent went viral 17 years ago.

Mathew Hill

Oh looking at that spreadsheet it could be years before you get to my recommendations. I do hope you get around to them eventually, but I'm here for the others all the same.

nj

i always took that last look as what you describe, with a tinge of relief at getting through it successfully and that he still had it in him.

Kieran

I think all his videos are one takes which is super impressive 😳

William

Tears for fears was one of my favourite groups when i was a late teenager and early 20's. I am showing my age now 😊

DilusisHorseDoosties

Did you all just not add songs you didn’t feel like doing? None of mine on there and I commented in the first hundred comments. Oh well, the Gen Xers who run this patreon win again.

Cinebinge

Hi Dilusis, please try to keep in mind that there were over a thousand comments to sift through by 1 person and it is very likely we just missed yours. Give us the benefit of the doubt and simply ask politely would suffice. thank you.

miniature

bruh mistakes happen, but the fact that you went straight for condescending snark, if i were them id leave you out just cause youre a dick.

Philipp Roensch

Oh Ren really connect with you too :D he is just so truthful and perfected in the delivery. Head over Heals is a good one as well, such an inventive video. Personally my head over heals moment was also one of "aaaand they're gone"^^, courage is probably at the end of a volcano or something.

Tim T—

Checking the table, yes Rammstein is there, but a) Benzin is missing and b) all songs except Deutschland should be the Live version.

Lyle Morgan

I hate Baz Luhrmann movies....with the exception of "Elvis." Love it and you should watch it.

WastedPo

Remember too, in this post they said that they didn't add songs they were already familiar with. If you posted some classics, there's a chance they knew them already.

MPH

Plenty of King Gizzard on the list. Can't wait.

WastedPo

1:34:00: So, others have probably already said this, but the opera singer at the end of The Naked Gun was totally fictional: Enrico Pallazzo. Funnily, when Leslie Nielson passed away in 2010, ESPN ran an obituary for the great "Enrico Pallazzo."

Jared Spotted Eagle

Hey George and Simone. Glad to see another music reaction. There are so many great songs listed in the spreadsheet that I look forward to seeing one day. In regards to adding more commentary to extend the length of the video, would you consider crossing over the trivia ending that concludes your movie reactions into these ones? I really enjoyed the tidbits about Tatiana learning to scream and it would be neat to learn things about other artists that you feature in your videos. Also (as noted during The Pretender), some songs have multiple levels of energy and intensity and some of the bands I've noticed in the spreadsheet really lean into that. Their songs are quite long and I feel like the stopping and starting may interrupt the flow. I know that's something that can't be helped for obvious reasons. So would you ever consider a re-listen afterward to be able to really appreciate the journey and the payoff, or would that just be adding unnecessary minutes to your postings?

Cinebinge

Yeah I had some of that up on my screen but the tidbits are a lot more scarce, and the ones i found are for the most part a lot more data and comparison to things we dont know. like "this song was the number 1 hit this artist has done since this other number 1 hit". or "theres a performance of this by this other artist this year during this event". where as movie trivia, being productions involving hundreds of people over large span of time tends to create stories and events which can be understood and appreciated on its own if that makes sense. None the less, its something we'll keep an eye out for each one but its definitely less consistent than movie trivia. the relistening part is something we can do, but it would have to be edited out, so what would happen is the initial listen is done. we say we will relisten, then jump to finished listening. it is possible, but is that something people would want? to not get to see a thing?

Joey Jo Jo JR Shabadoo

The Elvis movie is actually really good however it’s probably one of the least historically accurate biography’s as it was directed by baz Luhrmann and that’s just what he does 😂 also Tom hanks plays such a strange character in it which is just kinda funny. REN is really good, his band the big push has some really cool live performance videos too 🙂

Niklas Ericsson

I'm pleased to see that "If I Can Dream" hit you so deeply. I had never heard it myself until watching the Elvis movie two years ago, but it became an instant favorite. A very moving song and performance.

Jared Spotted Eagle

Yeah, that is important to consider if that is what people would want. To not get to see a thing. I guess I'm thinking more for yours and Simone's benefit. If the relisten idea gets scrapped, I imagine you would listen to it again off screen if you found it enjoyable. Cheers.

Tenn Seven

It would be fantastic if you guys did a reaction to "Studio 666," Foo Fighters' horror comedy movie that is (in my opinion) surprisingly good.

Śéáń

Good golly that spreadsheet. Thanks for splitting by genre, I'll probably do some homework on these myself. I don't think mine made it on, but that's already an insane pool to draw from as it is so there's really no loss there..!

Stephen Stone

I think only 1 of my songs made it to the spreadsheet. No rush, take your time.

Lola Lirola

His voice didn't waver even a single bit; that was a feat, and he knows how difficult it is! It was both the triumph that is within the song, and the absolute triumph of the singer knowing he did it at the topmost level!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

First of all, great reactions as usual. Second: Thank you to both of you for watching the end compilation, plus everyone being awesome on here as usual. I’ve been editing/filming in past jobs/projects for a long time so it was quicker than it might look. It was done off and on during the year and it was trial and error mostly until stuff clicked then having a good memory helped out a lot. Somehow it ended up at 23 mins (sorry 😅). Regardless it’s very kind to watch it on here when I would’ve been perfectly content with y’all checking it out for yourselves. If you ever want more gimme some time for inspiration to strike and you never know haha. Looking forward to the next Music vid 🙌🏻 p.s hope poor Simone’s feeling better 🙂

N.A. Vreugdenhil

Hey George - you've got "Falling In Reverse - I'm Not A Vampire (Revamped)" on the spreadsheet twice! I am stoked for some FiR reactions, so I almost didn't say anything :P

Dan Holmes

Andy & Alex never pause their vids, but they're pretty much the only channel I know that doesn't. If one of the vids they post ends up getting pulled for copyright then they upload a vid with a link to it posted on Patreon for free which is nice. They obviously also have patreon exclusive stuff as well. I love the way they run their channel though so if you're looking for music Reaction inspiration their channel would be a great place to start :)

Dan Holmes

The Pretender is SO Good! Just do all their hits and you'll be good for awhile :) Also all the Tears for Fears hits :)

Jobbe Smit

Double edged sword, several bands have their songs spread across multiple genres.

Jobbe Smit

They don't seem to do the spreadsheet in any specific order, you might be in luck.

RichieRich

I enjoy you two and your nonsense so much.

Florian Geyer

Jinjer reminded me of Opeth, its not to much of my kind, a little to Jazzy, al little to compex. But, what an amazing singer, shes really awsome.

Dan Holmes

listening to the final Cinebinge music video thingy and it reminds me you should definitely add POGO to the list... Boy & Bear would be a great starting point but there are a million amazing songs/edits on his Youtube, check him out pls! :)

Johnny Liu

Are all of the recs already on the spreadsheet? I didn't see any of mine :(

Mathew Hill

Duplicate on the spreadsheet "Boney M - Rasputin" honestly don't know how I spotted that but thought I'd let you know.

The boy who cried WTF

Other great songs from Tears For Fears: - Woman in Chains (1989) - Sowing The Seeds of Love (1989) - Everybody Wants To Rule The World (1985) - Elemental (1993)

Renee MeowMeow Beans

Holy cow, that was a lot of work for you two. It's lovely and wonderful, but dang! I'm thrilled that it was enjoyable (for the most part, except for Simone's sinuses 😟 )! Tryin to keep this brief, LOVE the Foo Fighters video - a great marriage of rock music with imagery. One of the most effective music videos, I think - really captures the energy of intensity of the song and makes it more effective, particularly the editing. I'm a pretty big Elvis fan, and one of the reasons is that he is such an emotive, expressive singer. The song was written by Walter Brown/Billy Goldenberg for the Elvis special, and they wrote it as a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr just a couple months after his assassination, as they were aware Elvis respected and loved King. Elvis is mostly known for love songs, but he's also a hugely popular gospel artist. And Tears for Fears were one of my bands in the 80s - and as a librarian, I can confidently state that chimps were a significant percentage of our patron base at that time. You know, the 80s: cocaine, neon colors, and chimps.😁 I think you two would really like sowing the Seeds of Love by them. Thank you so much for this - what a delight! 😊

Whenever you get around to Killswitch Engage, I would do the album version of My Curse. In the music video, they removed the screaming to make it more appealing for a “wider audience.” Same goes for The End of Heartache.

ExtraBigAssTaco

The "Ukranian Bluegrass" joke made me think of KALEO. They sound like they're from the American South at first glance, but they're Icelandic.

ExtraBigAssTaco

No, it does not matter how many times you hear Nessun Dorma, it's just one of THE iconic songs for vocal performance. Yes, Pavarotti was popular enough to be known in the mainstream, more specifically The Three Tenors - consisting of Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, and Placido Domingo. They were active in the 90s. If you are also a fan of The Charismatic Voice / Elizabeth Zharoff, she has a reaction/analysis with some more of the story, from an opera singer's perspective.

Jomero

Hadn't heard Jinjer before, but I thought she sounded familiar. I realized I heard her singing on the "Metal Hellsinger" video game soundtrack. She was perfect for that, as you play a first person shooter where you are a female demon whose voice was stolen and the whole gist of the game is to time your attacks to the beat of the music. The better you do, the more instruments begin playing until the vocals pop in. Perfect female demon voice.

I love that the slow theme is going on underneath "The Pretender" for the whole song at like a quarter time to the energy of the song. I'm sure you've heard "Everlong", "Monkeywrench" and "My Hero" but those are the S tier songs they have. Seven songs a video, 1000 suggestions, y'all should wrap that up rather quickly by my maths.

G P

You guys should react to the Elvis comeback special and The Last Waltz

Bjartur Egilsson

That's a huge list and so many songs I'm excited for you to listen to. FYI I recommended Skálmöld and I think I'm the only one who did but you got a wrong song by them on the list. I recommended Kvaðning with the symphony orchestra but you got Niðavellir. Not that niðavellir is a bad song by them but Kvaðning is I think their biggest song and most people start with that one and it's so epic and big with the orchestra

erosennin

There's hundreds of comments here so maybe it has been said before but the emotion Elvis put into this song came from his sadness about the murders of MLK and Robert Kennedy in the weeks before the filming of the special. I think Kennedy's assassination was like the week before, MLK's was a couple months. The "Dream" he's singing about is in reference to MLK's famous speech ("I have a Dream").

Persnickity

Jay... wtf that was amazing and by far the best songs in the list. Seriously so good. Loved how the last song brought all the previous back together. Can't wait for more.

Stephen Dudas

Was Simone just sick or did she have some kind of dental surgery? I apologize if you touched on this somewhere in the video. I didn't watch the entirety of it.

lovemoose

i can't wait for you guys to get to babymetal. i will scream of excitement :)

Anthony Villena

Does anyone know what it means for the suggestions that are not on the spreadsheet? Like a copyright problem or something?

Cinebinge

nope! just a sort of unintended side effect of "load more comments" a hundred or so times to get through 1000+ recommendations and forgetting where i left off.

Anamondaris

This is great! I can’t wait for you guys to get to Bad Omens. I think you’ll both add it to your playlists

Śéáń

The noise that the Rogan one made me make woke the cat. Really impressive work!

john williams

thank you for whoever recommended Ren. I needed to watch that

Jeff Norwood-Brown

I fell head over heels with a girl in my teens and finally plucked up the courage after many months, to go around to her house for a chat. With my heart in my throat, I knocked on her door, was invited in and sat myself down on the sofa. Next to her boyfriend. I left after a few mins. Because I had something stuck in my eye.

JokerDanny

You guys have to react to the Elvis (2022) movie it's fantastic and tells the story of his life and why the comeback special was needed.

HeyHeyJK

I met Dave Grohl at a Farmer's Market in LA about 15-ish years ago and he lived up to his reputation. So nice and talked to us for about 5 minutes, and we got to meet his mom, Virginia (RIP) who was also so kind and she was everything to him and such a major part of his career and success. If you saw, or get to see, the first big tribute concert to Taylor Hawkins that they had in London, which was the first time the Foos performed after Taylor's death, watching Dave break down at the mic during 'Times Like These' after losing both Taylor and his Mom just months apart was so heartbreaking. But he pushed through and carried on and the crowd had his back the whole time. I've seen them 4 times now live - with tickets to their show here in LA in August - and they put on at least a 2 hour show with no slowing down.

Florian Geyer

Who ever made this compilation, my deepest bow to your work. Thanks a lot, that was awsome!

Sean Hennessy

I know I am bad at following directions, but a couple recommendations I am surprised were not made. I see lots of Radiohead listed, but also worth checking some Thom Yorke solo stuff, including stuff he did from Electric Lady Studios (Bloom is my favorite, and is a Radiohead song in a whole new way). The next would be as a Rap item is Run The Jewels. Couple options there are Legend Has It or Ju$t, which includes Pharrell Williams and Zach de la Rocha

Sean Hennessy

One last one. Less a specific song or band. You should check out a youtube video by Paul Davids titled Top 80 Greatest Guitar Intros. Covers 80 sings over about 80 years of the best guitar intros. Manages to do it for 80 different bands total. One take over about 14 min. Includes many songs on the list, including The Pretender that you covered in this video.

matthew berry

That sucks that none of my suggestions got put on the spreadsheet even though I made it in time and all of the songs around my suggestions did make it

Jonathan Wyman

I really wish there was a separate comments page for the list than for the reactions. A lot of hurt feelings to wade through to talk about the music. Most importantly, thank you for Ren. Hi Ren is a masterpiece. You opened a door that turned into a rabbit hole for me.

Jason Harris

2 things about the Elvis reaction: 1) This performance was in December of 1968. 1968 was a rough year in America. Both Martin Luther King Jr and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated in 1968. Elvis is expressing the heartbreak of the nation in this song. 2) While Elvis could belt out ballads and love songs with the best of them, don't forget he was a Bad Ass Mother Fucker. He was truly the King of Rock n Roll, and laid the blueprint for most of rock music to come. His rockin' songs are worth diving into.

Cinebinge

It's not intentional, just human error from sorting through a thousand comments. It's added in now.

Tomas Gaspar

I kmow you might never have time but maybe you could one day just take peak at In thos Moment - big bad wolf or unleash the Archers - ghosts of mists. I believe you might like these bands too...

Adam S

Great video. The sent in video at the end was amazing and so well done! Super entertaining and impressive. Must have taken so much time and effort and it really was worth it!

matthew berry

Oh yea of course. I know you had a shit ton of suggestions to compile together on top of staying caught up with the tv/movie reactions as well. Sorry I didn't mean to come off as whiny or anything like that.

tullius cicero

Sorry you told me not to, but throw Eric Clapton Layla 1985 live aid to the top of the list if you want your mind blown to Saturn

Jomero

"I've never heard Tears for Fears." But you have watched Donnie Darko, therefore you've already heard Head Over Heels during a lengthy montage. :-) The song Mad World at the end of the movie, if you even recall it, was also a cover of a Tears for Fears song. I personally prefer it over the original. And it's possible the original band themselves do too, as one of the two sole members (Curt Smith) did a cover with his daughter of the cover from the movie.

Pete Lloyd

So Glad I clicked on this Hi Ren has had me in a headlock for a long time now. Ballad of Jenny and Screech would be a hell of a reaction

ln_wanderbooks

I'm really sad to realize none of the songs I suggested when you asked for them are in the list :-( I didn't check the Excel file before. I hope next time, if there is a next time considering the amount, they won't be forgotten.

Thomas Fary

totally loved the fan video, laughed my ass off ....Simone you are loved, xxxooo

samuel Jakob

Well the reactions to the songs where a lot of fun, cant wait for the next, but god damn the video at the end was just amazing, I cant remember the last time I laughted that much in such a short time, thanks a lot to who ever made this and of course to you two for giving us so many fun reactions! Anyway cant wait for the next one of these, they are really fun, and in case you are still under the weather Simone, get well soon!

Ginger

I like that there's some Blind Guardian on the list but really wish that the 2013 Wacken live performance of "The Bard's Song / Valhalla" would have made it. :D Well, maybe with the next 1000. ^^ Meanwhile I'm looking forward to Iron Maiden "Hallowed be thy name"

DCray

You are an absolute legend mate. Laughed my ass off at the compilation. Yar Har Fiddle Dee Dee!

Colonel Angus Martin

F*ck you Jay, I’ve been humming Insight check in my head all freaking day! That entire cinAbinge compilation song video was just majestic. Thats sone damn impressive work man!

D. T. Nelson

Correction to your list. The song by Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegan - is not Metal. It should be listed in either Folk or World music. You should also have Many other Wardruna songs on your list - Lyfjaberg, Raido, Skugge, and Hertan just to name a few. Other corrections - many artists listed under Folk are better positioned under Pop or Rock (Billy Joel is most definitely Rock) And with the Tears for Fears video... I always saw chimpanzees at the library back in the 80s. Hmm. Maybe that was just a British and American thing.

Chris Kimmel

Pat smear was in Nirvana too

Chris Kimmel

Foo Fighters have two people from Nirvana

sarCC

Hey, just wondering if you'll be doing another entry of this or if it's off the schedule for now?

China Andronicus

I just have to leave a note that if you do get to Hey Jealousy, just play the song, not the video. The band kicked out Doug Hopkins, who was the founder/lyricist/lead guitarist, shortly after being signed due to depression and alcoholism. He ended up killing himself not long after. Hopkins and his work deserves the attention (he wrote all of it, lyrics, guitar, drums, everything), not the members who got rid of him. He was so ridiculously gifted.

Jimi Hart

I know you’ve heard Somebody to Love, but the when I saw that someone had suggested the “1981 Live in Montreal” version i got so excited. Just unbelievable and a performance that even any staunch Queen fan would say “Okay Whoa! well that’s why Mercury is the greatest frontman of all time”

cj

I cant believe nobody told u guys about Harry Mack and his completely off Top freestyles off random words from strangers. Its truly amazing
