Are you guys ever gonna do go back to the Pixar’s “monster universe” with Monster university ?

FWPJR.

Here we go, the end of everything BB ( the actual show not the “universe” ) it’s kinda sad tbh I love all the characters from this show. It’s my all time favorite show and I did enjoy this movie. But I had a lot of fun watching you two react to it, now it’s onto BCS ( I’m pretty sure it won the poll ) and that should also be a fun ride

...if only Walt didn't shoot Jack before revealing where the barrels were.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

As a movie, it's all right. As an extension of the Breaking Bad universe, it's fantastic. At least we finally got a little closure and now we get to start from the literal beginning with BCS. Hopefully you guys enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed Breaking Bad. :)

Mark Polo

Jessie Plemmons is a great actor. I recommend you guys take a look at Civil War whenever that one becomes availiable.. great film with Jessie Plemmons and his wife Kirsten Dunst. (And you hate him just as much)

JCR

The “cop” Jessie had at gunpoint at Todd’s apartment was David, the cannibal cult leader from The Last of Us.

Monica Alarcon

Sending all my good vibes for George's operation today, I hope everything's alright. When I first heard about the operation, I was against it. But then I thought, if George wants to be a woman, so be it... Edit: Chill, it's a Simpsons reference, I'm sure George will get a laugh out of it...

Zoran24

Not a big deal but the video in the background seems to be going out of sync a little every now and then. Timer might not have same problem, I just use vid to sync up. Not a big deal tho just thought I'd mention.

I honestly loved Skinny and Badger from the first time I saw them. I used to have friends like that in high school, and I could tell who ever wrote them did too. I think that Todd is considered a Sociopath. If he were psychotic, he would have beat the crap out of Jesse with the whole gun incident.

Vwlss Nvwls

I do not know what New Mexico is like, but I lived in Arizona for 25 years, and digging a whole like they did for the cleaning lady would take more than a shovel. About a foot down it would be like rock. I always wondered about that when watching this movie.

TGrimace

Some of the trailers for El Camino featured Skinny Pete being interrogated by the cops. It's a nice little insight into what happened to Skinny Pete after the multitudes of cops showed up at his house.

Yes it was a cash grab on a beloved, and long time put to rest IP. Yes it was unnecessary, the story finished perfectly. Yes it was silly to reboot it after nearly a decade of being off the air and over. Yes that ruined a few aspects of continuity and realism. Yes it was just trying to play into our nostalgia and ride on the coat tails of one of our favorite shows. But does that mean it isn't a good movie? Or that there's no place for it? or Just because those are true does that mean we can't enjoy it as a piece of cinema? Hell no. I believe that despite all the negative truths about this film, it is a good movie, ties up some loose ends that even though they didn't need it, felt good to know how Jesse got out and restarted. Also it succeeded in scratching our breaking bad nostalgia itch. It brought back major players like Mike, and Jane, it flashed back to scenes we never saw, it showed how loyal and awesome his friends were in the end. There's lots of credibility and things to love about it, if you can look past fat Todd, the time skip, and for other obvious reasons to hate on it. All in all I'm glad we got a wrap up to Jesse's story, and got another taste of the BB universe outside of BCS and the promo's/ skits they did.

Pretty sure they used amazon to watch the show, and I had that watching it on netflix, the black screens have different timings, and I had to readjust my sync like every 3 minutes through the entire show. it was exhausting lol. Also I feel like the video on their copy is a little behind what it actually should be most of the time. If I sync my copy up to their 321 Go. or to the instant they react to scene reveals it's almost a whole second or two off compared to their video. I don't know if they do that to account for sync errors between themselves and also the audience or what. But I've always wondered what that was about. If I sync my video to their video there's a delay, and they don't react right when things happen. lolol No biggie but something I noticed with their reactions. I assume it's because they're syncing two different reactions as well as the main video and better to be a little late than early in dialog and reaction. Usually no big deal, but sometimes it's more noticeable.

El Camino could mean the path, the road, the journey. I am guessing it is that last one, along with the car for their title choice.

Jonah

Now that you've seen this you need to check out Skinny Pete's interrogation, they for some reason left it out of the movie, and just used it for the teaser/trailer. https://youtu.be/lZKqMVPlDg8?si=irLtreuzWmd6GLop And check out the Breaking Bad alternate ending. https://youtu.be/s7U3rt_LP-c?si=_moccYGaruxH-tYs A reaction to both of these would be dope, but if not, still watch them!!!! But they are super short. One like 45 seconds, the other is 3 minutes. lol Both great though!

Dave-Oh-Flave

Jesse Plemons is so good. You have to watch the first episode of the fourth season of Black Mirror:) Great reaction!

Thomas Hilbert

What do you mean when you say 'it's over'? It's not over. It's over, when I TELL YOU it's over! ...is what Walt would say ;-)

Logan Kerlee

Really enjoyed watching this with you both. :) Good stuff!

BangDroid

I'm probably in the minority of people who love BB but think El Camino is kind of mid. I was happy with Jesse's story at the end of BB, driving off into the night, making his own way in freedom. To me this was just a little filler and only cemented Todd as even more of a psycho, which we already knew. Better Call Saul is so much better, being a series it's hard to compare to a single movie but in terms of feeding that Breaking Bad hunger it goes the extra mile, in ways you didn't even know you wanted.

Ph4ZeD

Yeah it's very unnecessary and doesn't really tell you much you didn't know already. Nice little payday for everyone involved I'm sure but it doesn't really work without Walt.

Kenneth thomas

Jesse Plemons has been in some absolutely amazing roles in other stuff. Fargo Season 2, theres a movie called Windfall on netflix that was written by the same guy that wrote Seven, Love and Death on hbo, and I'm Thinking of Ending things, a very bizarre but beautiful Charlie Kaufman film.

Duke Running

Awesome way to give the fans closure …… but one question ? Who’s Microphone was picking up the bird sounds in the background ?

Paul G

El Camino is unquestionably the weakest link in the BB universe but, all things considered it's still an enjoyable movie. The thing that blows my mind the most about BB, El Camino, and Better Call Saul is how all three are instantly recognizable as being in the same universe and yet, somehow, all three have distinct personalities. Vince Gilligan and company are just straight up wizards or something.

Paul G

Hi guys, I meant to post this again last week when you finished up the series but unfortunately I got busy with work and totally forgot. I had already mentioned these clips a couple of other times. When you guys finish the series there are two YouTube videos you absolutely have to watch, I really hope you'd even consider doing reactions to them. They both feature Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul and are hilarious. Titles are: "Aaron Paul Discovers Bryan Cranston Living in Breaking Bad RV // Omaze" "Barely Legal Pawn, feat. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Julia Louis-Dreyfus"

Hi I'm George Junior, but my friends call me Geo-Ju

🖤This is kind of a long one, but I find this stuff sort of interesting. The human mind is very complex, how can it not be interesting? And huge disclaimer, I'm no expert on these topics. Not claiming to be. I can totally be off on any of these points. Anyone feel free to clarify something, I'd love to read it. And people who are psychopathic or sociopathic aren't always killers or even necessarily mean people. They can be nice people and live normal lives, at least as we see it. But we're talking about Todd so I'm obviously going at this from the "Ted Bundy" angle. But the question of whether or not is Todd a psychopath or a sociopath? Not sure. I'm having trouble placing him in either category myself. But what I do know is psychopaths are born that way. Have no real empathy (Maybe that's not totally true in some cases) and usually aren't prone to random bursts of anger. Their reasoning is very logic based with their own survival/self interests in mind. Any personality they display, they essentially just mimic what they've seen people do, and do this in order to get by. This is why people like Ted Bundy appear to be so charismatic and why it was such a surprise to people who knew him when they found out what a monster he was. His day-to-day personality was just manufactured internally based on how he observed successful people act. If you met a psychopath in your life you likely wouldn't know it. If you think you did, it was either just a person with anger issues, a sociopath, or maybe even a narcissist. Sociopaths on the other hand, aren't born that way and are usually a result of their environment. They are very prone to wearing their emotions on their sleeves and are no stranger to public displays of anger. Because of this, sociopaths are much easier to spot. They are somewhat disconnected to feelings of empathy, but not totally. So they know what they do is wrong and can feel guilt. Again, these are VERY generalized breakdowns from someone who doesn't have a degree in this field. Based on these two generalizations, I'd say Todd is a psychopath. He never really seems to get angry. And the "empathy" he does show could certainly be just executing social queues he's observed throughout life, and doing/saying what he feels he needs to for his own survival. He didn't feel any real remorse when he killed the maid. And the way he explains it to Jesse is just saying things "normal" people would say (but with little to no emotion over it). But we could tell he didn't actually feel bad. It was more "ah, shucks. What a shame" type of attitude. When Jesse pulls the gun out, Todd doesn't get angry and says exactly what he needs to say to defuse the situation. Getting shot would be bad for him. Having to punish Jesse in such a way where his uncle finds out he let him out is bad for him. Even tho they have Brock for collateral, if Jesse escaped that doesn't really help them if Jesse goes to the police. But he didn't get emotional. Easily talked him down, and kept his cool the whole time. Then continued his "small-talk auto pilot" LOL. Jesse Plemmons did great with this role.

Zorak

You guys should consider Fargo if you like Jesse Plemmons. Not just for him, but for the incredible storytelling of the first 2 seasons. And even moreso than for Plemmons, Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thorton are just incredible in it. Fargo is not something to be missed. It's possibly the only show I would consider on par with Breaking Bad.

Clint Murphy

Jesse Plemons was in the latest Scorsese movie, was nominated for an Academy Award, married Kirsten Dunst and won best actor at Cannes this year, so he's doing ok, ha!

dys

Jesse thinking he was so clever about how 911 calls work is very much a product of him learning about it in school but never actually using it. As little kids in school in the US they teach us all that stuff about staying on the line, but the couple times I've actually called the police about things with similar stakes to what the vacuum guy said the dispatcher did not keep me on until the cops arrived. The response time was a little unrealistically fast, but they're not going to make the audience wait 20 minutes in real time in the movie.

djKENTO

yeah they guns Jesse steals are not for home defense. They’re target shooting pistols and collectors items. Old and weak.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Yeah, El Camino means road but it can also mean, more metaphorically, a person's path through life. That reminds me, I've been sort of ambivalent about recommending to you guys, Blood In Blood Out, I think it's actually a great movie, but, for one thing I haven't seen a version where the Spanish slang is translated in the subtitles, I understand it but non Spanish speakers will definitely have a problem with that. Also the acting is a little choppy, there are some incredible performances, especially by Jesse Borrego (he was the cartel guy in Con Air), he's amazing in it, really stands out. Benjamin Bratt is also great, as are a few others, but the story (which is kind of loosely based on the true story of the founding of the Mexican Mafia) is interesting I think. Problem is when you talk about that movie you also have to talk about American ME, which is a better made movie that tells a less accurate but in some ways more cinematic version of the same true story. And then there's the whole thing about people involved in that movie being murdered by the Mexican Mafia. According to Danny Trejo, the filmmaker and famous actor Edward James Olmos (you saw him as the origami guy in Blade Runner) had a hit out on him, but Trejo says he intervened, the beef being over the movie depicting the founder of the eMe being raped in prison, which they took as a severe insult. Both movies are great but a tough watch, prison stuff. Anyway, just putting that out there.

Dwight Scarn

Observe and report is an crazy ass movie highly underrated! Kingpin, Horrible bosses is great lots of great flicks to the list.

REDR58

I enjoyed it, but it just seems like an extra long episode of the show.

Justin Leone

I think Todd is similar to Walter, but to an extreme degree. He doesn't want to kill, or get any enjoyment out of it. But he'll do it without hesitation if he feels even the slightest bit threatened. Walter does the same thing throughout the series, always with the same "self defense" justification. However, I think Walter only ever kills others who are "in the game". I can't think of any instance of Walt killing anyone who's completely innocent (though he draws a different line when it comes to non-fatal poisoning, of course).

Philipp Roensch

I really like this movie, it is good closure for Jesse and even with some villains added, makes the ending of the show even rounder. Style and genre wise, I would say this is a modern Western, with great tension, actual stand-off and personal justice theme, not many of those that work so well. Jesse Plemons is also great in Killers of the Flower Moon and Vice, I'm excited to see what he does in Kinds of Kindness. RIP Robert Forster.

Nick Kessler

Todd is nothing like Walter. He is a psychopath text book definition. Walt is a lot of things but he is clear not unable to empathize other emotions. ugh there is a laundry list of reasons immediately in my head about how they are different but i don't had the time to type a complete novel at you.

justjasper

I feel like watching El Camino right after Breaking Bad kinda does a disservice to the movie. As opposed to watching it before season 5 of Better Call Saul which is the timeframe of when it was released. Having that time away from the BB cast really helps the experience of watching the movie for the first time.

Thall

Guns for protection are mostly just a justification for owning guns because you like 'em. Like kids that tell you "It's totally good for schoolwork, because with the GPU I can run excel better". It's clearly bullshit if you think about it for more than 2 seconds, but it sounds good enough sometimes
