Just like Simone said at the beginning, I spent much of this movie waiting for the "twist" that it was all in his head. I really thought that it was all an elaborate fantasy he had constructed to escape his humdrum life. My thought was that either none of it was happening at all, or that he was getting into real fights but it was with random people on the street instead of gangsters. When it turned out to all be real I was so surprised. The trivia about the poker hand is correct, those are statistically speaking the worst cards you can get. This makes me want to recommend poker movies: "Rounders", a great look at card sharps, hustlers and the underground poker world in New York. Matt Damon and Edward Norton. My father jokes it's based on his life, because he has played at a few of the clubs and games they based the movie on (No, they didn't base it on him). "Molly's Game" based-on-a-true-story about the rise-and-fall of an exclusive, million-dollar poker empire. They explain EVERYTHING about the game itself during the film so even if you don't know anything about poker you can follow everything. Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba.

Pretty off-topic, but a while back you expressed an interest in seeing more J.K Simmons, so I just want to recommend Counterpart. It's a 2-season show with a decent arc and it showcases his talent like nothing else I've ever seen. Plus it's just a really great show.

This truly is just a fun romp, I would highly recommend the director's prior film Hardcore Henry, while a little light on story it has a unique gimmick and a banger performance from Sharlto Copley.

I thought this film was perfectly *fine*, it just seemed to run out of gas by the end when the gimmick of the plot had already run its course.

Whom, most can say, its a very underrated character actor. Loved that film and most things Copley has done, specially Ellysium with Matt Damon, which I also would recommend George and Simone to watch

The Russian in the movie is as authentic as it gets. The black guy is the only one who speaks with an American accent. Everyone else is played by Russians, it seems.

Also, a little fun fact about the Russian release of this movie and the dub. Some of the Russian swear words are not allowed in cinemas and on TV, some of which were used in this movie, so during the dub the same actors had record different versions of their lines, and the translation of Hutch's "I will f*ck you up" was literally bleeped out, which is something I've never seen done before. They would usually just rephrase the line to tone it down.
