Thank god they’re watching Days of Future Past! Also that poster is definitely fake there will be no new X-Men stuff until at least after Avengers Secret Wars in 2027

djKENTO

Sitting down on the couch now to enjoy this one.

Odd Thomas

Hard to believe James Mangold made this yawnfest and then made the masterpiece that is Logan. Some other great films by him are Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma and Identity

djKENTO

Wolverine and Hulk have been given each other’s powers before and it’s a lot less cool than you’d hope. To be fair, The MCU version of The Hulk did involve injections of certain materials because they were trying to recreate Captain America. In the comics it’s just an explosion. So Simone is partially right. Reasons why Wolverine might fear flying… he can’t die… but he can’t exactly float either. The man weighs 300 pounds and a lot of that is metal in his body. He’s not buoyant. If their plane went down in the ocean… yikes. That’s a nightmare.

EDIT I was wrong this is THEATRICAL CUT I misunderstood George and went and checked runtime at the end of their edit and it’s shorter than extended

FrancescoTakesItEasy

Sounds like they're doing the PG-13 theatrical cut? I'll skip this one.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Haven’t checked this one out since seeing it in theatres and the extended cut later on but it’s always a good time with the Hugh man. Makes me reconsider the gym routines every time I see the guy haha. Fun reaction as always ☺️

Odd Thomas

You still need to watch the best Hiroyuki Sanada film: Sunshine (2007)

Joe

Ah it's a shame they didn't watch the extended version.

Itbewhatitbe

ya and if they did there would instead be comments saying "why is it extended its just a studio cash grab and not available on the specific platform i use!! why isnt this channel catered specifically to me?!?" its lose lose situation for them

Please consider these movies: I love you man This is 40 Prisoners Kingpin I now pronounce you chick and Larry Sausage party Horrible bosses Wreck it Ralph Gangs of New York American beauty 12 years a slave Wedding singer Hall pass Crash Blades of glory Hot tub Time Machine The internship Big daddy Saving Silverman Hitch Casino Grandmas boy Heavyweights Role models Knocked up Batman forever Sherlock Holmes Nightcrawler Emperors new groove The town A million ways to die in the west Forgetting Sarah marshall Shallow Hal Enemy of the state 7 pounds Blow Neighbors Bridesmaids Shooter Demolition man The game Roast of James Franco

Tyler Foster

My guess is that it's not a great strategy to keep posting the same list over and over again. I also don't know why they'd do any Roast, as they've never done anything like it before.

FWPJR.

I freaking love Wolverine, he’s my 2nd favorite comic book character ( Batman is my favorite ) I used to buy X Men comics when I was a kid and Wolverine always was the one that stuck out for me. I’ve never seen this movie, but I’m definitely going to watch along just because I love Wolverine.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Chris Claremont’s run of comics were supplied by my elementary school’s librarian in the 90s, among other writers and series. Her son was a huge Marvel/DC fan and would buy comics for the library for her to have in the catalogue. Forever grateful to that dude haha

Jacob

It has probably already been answered but have they mentioned anything about watching Loki for Deadpool 3?

Tinfoilnation

X-Men Origins Wolverine: Here's Logan storming the beaches of Normandy. The Wolverine: Here's Logan a prisoner on the Japanese mainland. Military Historians Everywhere: This hurts my brain...

Stugotz

Yeah I got confused too because it sounded like George said the runtime was 2:16:08, good thing I scrolled to the end to see the runtime

Stugotz

Wolverine has the same problem that Superman has in that they're both basically indestructible so pretty much the only way to put them in any real danger is to take away their powers, which is what happens to him in this movie and in Logan.

REDR58

This is the problem I have the X-Men series. They don’t take continuity seriously. Some people say who cares? Well that’s fine. But having gotten used to the MCU where they seem to take continuity fairly seriously this seems rather careless and just not what I’m into anymore . But whatever people like what they like. I like particular scenes of most of these X-Men movies but on the whole, I just don’t dig the series.

darkmoobs

Trying to be as vague and spoiler free as possible. They said they are watching these as lead in to Deadpool & Wolverine, but do we know how much of the Fox Marvel movies they’ve seen?

REDR58

During the atomic bomb scene, that well that Wolverine is being held in is topped off with what appears to be the wrecked upper hull of a Japanese tank or some other armored vehicle.

David Lonewolf Wright

I can't love "He forgot his memories" enough. I believe the MCU Hulk did inject himself with something as the project was about the Super Soldier Serum and then whatever was very unique to Bruce, mixed with the serum and then hit with gamma radiation unlocked him. Abomination was made with the serum and Hulk blood. I guess Wolverine's healing is in his blood or they needed raw stem cells, which is in the bone marrow. They went over the science a bit when I donated bone marrow, but it was about 20 years ago. I guess the extended edition is the one where the suitcase that Yuriko has before getting on the plane towards the end, gets opened up and shows the brown and gold Wolverine costume (which is what I was most familiar with growing up in the 80s and 90s.

Diiirk706

which version is this ?

Joey Johansen

took a bit to track down a copy that wasn't the extended version, wish the state of film procurement wasn't so... lame? :)

Canonman28

Surely if Wolverine got hulked up he’d be more destructible. He’d grow but the metal won’t. Or would the tensile strength of adamantium keep him small. Either way it sounds incredibly painful

Wirenfeldt

much prefer Deadpool Yukio.. she was so delightfully bubbly.. .. Hi Wade!

John

Thank you for the great content. When I saw this before, I wanted to like it more than I did. I would recommend this short graphic novel that this movie is based on: Wolverine #1 – #4 by Chris Claremont. It is hard to go wrong with Wolverine vs Ninjas. Ironically Wolverine's first appearance was in the Incredible Hulk, they have made a hulk with claws. I think if you like the lore you should consider adding the Original X-men cartoon to a poll but I would not watch each episode, there are some key stories they cover really well particularly when you compare them to X-men 3.

akaTheBARON

To address the Hulk-Wolverine thing Simone was asking. I think she was maybe asking because Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton and anyone who turns into a hulk grows so how would that work with an adamantium skeleton? If so here's how it'd go down/has gone down. In any normal instance, that wouldn't work. The adamantium can't grow with the rest of the body so if that person were to suddenly hulk out... yikes right? LOL There's an instance when such a thing did happen in a series called World War Hulks or Hulked Out Heros, or something like that where a bunch of heroes became hulks. Wolverine (known as Wolverage) became a hulk. I believe he did retain his adamantium skeleton but it's not really explained. Captain America also got hulked out, and this was the Bucky Barnes version so he had a metal arm, and his metal arm hulked out too. So sometimes comic book logic is just not explaining something and hoping people won't notice LOL. Then there's Weapon H. He is a Hulk, with adamantium claws, adamantium skeleton, and he can transform into his Hulk state back to his human form without ripping apart because the adamantium on his skeleton grows with him. They made nanotech out of adamantium, or something like that, so that's why the adamantium on his skeleton can change shape with him. But normally, no. If someone just has adamantium bonded to their skeleton, unless its some sort of nanotech, magic, lazy story telling, or something along those lines, if such a person suddenly hulks out they're fucked LOL. Wolverine, as is, would be screwed if he got hulked XD.

In the 2003 film HULK Geneticist David Banner (Bruce's father - Played by Nick Nolte) looking to tap into the hidden strength people have under duress experiments on himself and unintentionally alters his DNA, and his wife's Edith DNA, soon gives birth to their son, Bruce Banner. David realizes Bruce inherited his mutant DNA and attempts to find a cure. His experimentation consisted of a series of INJECTIONS (= Shots) followed by a radiating with gamma radiation. The plot ev involves a large burst of ga gammam radiation to complete the transformation. So Simone was in fact correct when she kept saying "shots". Depends a lot on which film you watch therefore she's entitled to say these magic words to George "Nanny-nanny-boo-boo-stick- your-head-in-do-do" "Swish" the country girl scores!

REDR58

Often, but not always, the movies released on Blu-ray come with both versions.

REDR58

Somehow, Xavier returned… Sigh. Anyway. I never bought the love story between Jean and Logan. It seems rather forced, and brief, for him to have been pining for her for so long afterwards. Kayla’s voice can briefly be heard as Logan regains consciousness after being pincushioned. The joke about Logan not knowing about the pool below is a reference to a similar scene in the Sean Connery James Bond movie "Diamonds are Forever.”

REDR58

And Samuel Sterns (aka “The Leader”) as played by Tim Blake Nelson was exposed to the serum during the incident which created Abomination. And we may see more of him in the future…

Anytime the Japanese characters spoke English to each other, it was when they were talking in secret. If you don't want to be overheard, and not cowering in the corner looking like you're plotting, you speak another language. The father, Shingen, whispered in Yukio's ear during the funeral raid, but right next to his wife...so he had to speak English. Then with all the police and political figures around, he spoke English to Norubo(the asshole fiancé) about the reading of the will. remember in the last movie, Striker was stealing mutant powers (somehow?) and giving them to Deadpool. technically, there is a flaw in the comic writing of Wolverine's healing power....When Shingen stabbed Logan's heart, that should have immobilized him until someone could remove the sword. The heart can't heal until the sword is removed. While the sword is in the heart, it cant pump, therefore his body functions cannot "function." lol. Shingen won that fight...imo

Philipp Roensch

James Mangold was definitely cooking with this one. It might be a bit full of tropes, but so cool, and you are right, bringing Wolverine down to the ground was a good twist to make these fights more tense. Also love the full circle of characters, wanting to die, not dying and about to die meeting for a showdown. I think what Viper's poison did to Logan was stun and numb him, it is in her power to cook something like that up, then plant the bug.
