Definitely do the sequel. It's great movie and better than the first.

Victor Fiegel

And it has creature designs that are comparable, if not better, than Pan's Labyrinth

Michael

Hellboy is a super fun publication. It’s Dark Horse. Mike’s art is half the allure. And the premise is very similar to the Witcher but the universe basically allows for any kind of encounter ranging from Doc Savage-style pulp, to Lovecraftian horrors, to faerie folklore.

Robert Cooper

Honestly, If you like the designs of this one, the second one is gonna make your hed asplode.

Matt88g

You asked about traffic not stopping, in place like New York no one is phased by anything, they would not stop for a demon in the street

Dang Nazis. The film is pretty faithful to tone and style of the comic. The only difference worth mentioning is that in the comic Hellboy isn't a secret, he's publicly known and was raised in the open. In 1952 he was granted "honorary human status" by the UN. So he doesn't have the "I'm alone in the world" angst. Other than that it's pretty spot-on. The pancakes are a reference to the comic short story "Pancakes", where he eats them for the first time in 1947. He loves them, and the comic shows the three Demon Lords of Hell reacting that now that he has eaten pancakes, he will truly never return to being evil. They've been one of his trademark favorite foods throughout the series.

Love this movie and if you enjoyed it then definitely do the sequel, its just as good if not better.

I enjoy this movie but never as much as I wish I did. There's something about the performances that del Toro gets out of English speaking actors that's just a little... off. Love the design and cinematography, though.

Darin Foat

Doug Jones does his own dialogue as Abe in the second film. And the really odd thing is that he sounds very much like David Hyde Pierce.

Rob Church

I love these movies. Hellboy has such cool lore. If you were impressed with the aesthetics of this one I can't wait for you guys to see the second.

Jeff K.

Yep. I can't remember how exactly it played out, whether DHP bowed out or what, but I've always appreciated the fact that he recognized that Doug was doing all of the heavy lifting and didn't want to take anything away from him. Dude has always come across as a humble class act.

Trevor Rotan

David Hyde Pierce wanted the credit for the character to go the actor in the suit because he felt that his physical performance made the character more than his voice-a good dude.

JoeNotCharles

When I first saw Hellboy II, I was distracted by how much Abe's "new" voice sounded almost like David Hyde Pierce but not QUITE. It made it feel a little "off" since I was so familiar with that voice. But after so many seasons of Star Trek Discovery, Doug Jones' voice is just as familiar so it's the original Hellboy that sounds "off"!

Kelley Leary

In 2012, Ron Perlman underwent the four-hour long process of becoming Hellboy again. A Make-A-Wish kid wanted to meet him; Perlman loved the idea. The kid was later transformed into his own version of Hellboy.

Dan Holmes

For more Ron Perlman watch Drive, for more Hellboy watch Hellboy 2, for more Selma Blair watch Legally Blonde :)
