Ayeeeeee ! BAD BOYS !!! You guys should add NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE to a future poll !

Brazilian_Rebel

Please keep the franchise going ! You guys are gonna love BB2 !

Big Gee

Yes! Do the whole franchise you will love em all

gurz

ya no need to spam recommendations in every post. theyve said before they get 1 email for every comment, so they already saw it. spam is just irritating for everyone else and im sure for S&G too.

Tucci

One of the most underrated scores ever IMO. Man, this was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Jihad Lee

Ehhhh if it’s a problem they will say something to the person. But from what I gathered over the years. They love when people recommend them movies. This person can spam what they want unless Simone and George say something specifically to this person.

As someone who works in aviation the main reason why planes are loaded front to back has as much to do with weight distribution as it does with making the first class passengers happy. The center of gravity for most planes is set just behind the wings and if you put too many passengers into the back of the plane too soon it will tip over. Next time you’re at the airport look at the back end of some of the larger planes, you might see large jacks propping up the tails to help prevent this exact situation.

Michael Bay was definitely a different Michael Bay at this time and not the Bay style directing that we are used to. But I honestly prefer this style to his new style that he developed in the 2000’s. But Bad Boys 2 is freaking hilarious. And 10X better than this one in terms of how funny it is. So I too would recommend that one

Alexrandom

This film isn't great but bad boys 2 is a masterpiece! A masterpiece in bad taste. I love it because it's just crazy. I can't understand how Michael Bay was allowed to do that film. Such a strange film, I can't wait for you guys to watch it :)

Tay Schumaker

My brother and I loved this movie growing up. Watching it now, there is some stuff that doesn’t make sense. Like why wouldn’t they tell her who is who once they got her into custody? I mean it makes for a fun movie, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense in reality

Smooticus

It's a 1990's Michael Bay movie. You're supposed to be distracted from the ginormous plot holes with big explosions and other "oooh! Aahh!" gimmicks

Paul G

Bad Boys II is probably the best of franchise. This one drags a bit whereas the second one really ramps up both the action and the comedy.

Here in Pennsylvania depending where you live, we have SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), ERT (Emergency Response Team) and other variations on the name. Depends on the county, etc. as far as I know, the members just wear “POLICE” on their uniform/armor. Some of the vehicles seem to have “Special Weapons and Tactics” painted on them. https://northpennnow.com/news/2021/may/14/photos-montco-swat-central-region-trains-in-lansdale-friday-morning/ The “COPS” TV / reality series has been on TV here in the US since 1989! The theme song is “Bad Boys” (as expected!) by Inner Circle and was first released in 1987: https://youtu.be/EwzyQg_Pqrw?si=HNrhDjg0C94IaAR-

I remember when my mom found my .ass files on my pc... :shivers:

Tay Schumaker

Would disagree about the second one being the “good one”. I feel like the first one is by far the best

Tay Schumaker

Oh for sure. I mean it doesn’t really bother me, cause the movie is a lot of fun. But yeah, looking at it closer the logic doesn’t hold up. But also don’t really care

Tay Schumaker

This wasn’t Will Smith’s first movie. According to IMDb it looks like he did Where the Day Takes You, Made in America and Six Degrees of Separation before this. His next two movies were Independence Day and Men in Black

GaryJerryLarry

Before the movie when Simone said "Everyone gather around, I have something important to say" I was fully expecting her to follow with "P.S. I'm gay"

BigGuy209

this one’s my favorite of the franchise some people will say the second one is the best and it’s good, but I saw this in theaters as a kid. I also had it on VHS & DVD. i had the soundtrack on CD as well. I properly like it more just because of nostalgic purposes but This movie was a staple of my childhood. we used to quote this movie all the time.

silverarrow06

Honestly for me "Bad Boys for life" is my personal favorite. Maybe just because I'm nearly their age and could relate to a lot of the humor in this one and the point in life these characters (especially Martin Lawrence) are. I loved the first one at its time, but the second one was too over the top, not-funny nonsense for me. I mean, of course you don't watch an action comedy for the plot, that would be like pretending to read the Playboy for the articles, but even by this standards I found it just weird and cruel...🤔🙂

Rupert Purcat

Its a good 90's movie and the sequel has more sepia, more explosions and even more yelling. Hope you do react to it but there are a lot of better movie sequels you have not come back to yet.

Odd Thomas

This is fun but the sequels do nothing for me. They fall into the shouting = funny brand of comedy.

Sumner Hayes

Yeah, most fans I talk to consider the 2nd one by far the worst of the series. That agrees with the numbers at places like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes, where #2 is dead last in the critics scores and last or tied for last in the audience scores. There are obviously people who disagree, of course.

Odd Thomas

A good Tea Leoni movie is Deep Impact.

Skylar Burns

This is Michael Bay's first movie so he's relatively subdued and at his best imo. Well actually I think 2 is the best balance between Michael Bay action and over the top fun.

Skylar Burns

This is also Will Smith's first movie

Vwlss Nvwls

When Marcus mentions "Passenger 57" at the start of the movie, he was referring to a Wesley Snipes movie. A movie which is a lot of fun, like all Wesley Snipes movies. When Julie calls Marcus "Action Jackson" that is the name of a Carl Weathers (RIP) action movie. I always had fun watching this movie, but I never liked the swapped identity angle. It always felt like far too much, that went on far too long. But I am always willing to let a lot slip when Tea Leoni is in the movie.

Vwlss Nvwls

It took place in Miami, and I am fairly certain Miami translates to "City of collateral damage"

Ginge Tomassi

Maybe, just maybe they weren't going for the funny man straight man dynamic.

Anthony Villena

I fly first class a lot but board with the last group for the reasons that you mentioned. The main bad part is having to find overhead bin space near my assigned seat. By the end they are often filled with dumb shit like entitled old ladies' flower arrangements and cowboy hats. If you squash them you can sometimes get the "do you know who I am" speech.

Odd Thomas

I think it was around '98/99 when cell phones became more widely used by everyone, to answer your question. Rich people had them since the 80s though.

Peter H

I wonder if the Simpsons episode Simone is talking about is "Bart the lover"

FranciscoGios

The Rock is definitely a top favorite. After and if you guys are watching Bad Boys Part 2, George Passanger 57 is a must as well 👍

Thomas Yanez

The main reason I voted for this was the hope that it would lead directly into "Bad Boys II".

Owenrock1221

WHile I do like Bad Boys 2 I have to disagree with anyone who says its better than the first one...the first one I think is still by far the best of the franchise

REDR58

My father had a car phone in the 1980s for work that was wired into the car and was pretty much just like a house wall phone with a cord. There was large piece of equipment (like a shoebox-sized thing) for it mounted in the trunk and another smaller box in the passenger footwell. It was the coolest thing when I was a kid. It looked something like this, with the large base unit in the trunk: https://www.retromobe.com/2015/03/motorola-4500x-1980s.html?m=1

REDR58

George, the water on the windshield of the Mike’s Porsche as Marcus was cuffing Julie to the steering wheel was because he accidentally triggered the window washer when he was parking the car (as he was presumably unfamiliar with its controls).

REDR58

“X” marks the spot and also is painted on runways to show pilots they are no longer active.

Lou Gallucci

George, you say you like ass - but then say you don't want a myriad of asses walking past your face. Well, which is it? Do you like ass or not ? The people want to know.

Keith Jones

It's been a long time since I watched this. I forgot that Willie the Snitch from BtVS was in this.

Odd Thomas

Yeah when George said everyone says the 2nd one is better I was like, wut. Bigger and louder, yes, better not so much.

Scoobay

For me, Bad Boys 2 is better on every metric. 1st one is good, but it’s the 2nd that made the series what it is.

Chase Schleich

3 and 4 aren't reboots. Same characters. Just sequels. Haven't watched them yet, but heard they're both good.

Gary Fixler

It's probably unrelated, but when they kidnapped Julie from the hotel, they fled in a Ford Bronco (maybe an '83?). Filming on this movie began on June 27, 1994 (and wrapped a month later on August 31st). Ten days earlier, June 17th, 1994, was OJ's famous run from the police in a white 1993 Ford Bronco, which was a major news story at the time. It could just be that it was a popular vehicle then—I owned a hand-me-down Bronco XLT a few years later—however, I could totally see Michel Bay saying "We gotta put a Bronco in this chase scene," just because it was the most famous car that month. I laughed, though, because even though it was one of the most famous get-away vehicles ever, mine got literally 6 miles per gallon (2.55 kilometers per liter, 120,960 rods per hogshead). I actually had to plan trips by gas stations, like EV owners do now with charging stations. I could watch the needle moving as I drove, like a second hand on a clock. Maybe it was an XLT thing.

Gary Fixler

I was trying to figure out why I remembered the hotel guy. I see he was in Buffy, so I guess Simone knows him from there, but I remember him now from Becker, a sitcom starring Ted Danson (Sam from Cheers) and Terry Farrell (Jadzia Dax from ST:DS9). He was in 90 episodes.

Ginger

I never used an ASS file before. Very familiar with chinese SRTs though.

TBH talking about cop paychecks, yeah you'd become a cop to get the paycheck. On paper your average cop makes ~50-100k/year. Buuuuuut in almost every department in the US they commit overtime fraud like crazy so it's not abnormal for a cop to make metric SHITLOADS of money.
