I have come here to chew bubblegum and watch They Live...

BigGuy209

“I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubblegum.” I’ve been waiting for you two to react to this movie ever since I became a subscriber, I love this movie. It’s my favorite movie of all time. This movie came out the year i was born. I can still remember the first time i saw this movie. It came on after WCW Thunder on TBS in 1998. Thank You for finally doing a reaction to this movie. 😎🤙🏻🕶️

Monica Alarcon

Tor Johnson was a wrestler turned actor much earlier. He was in Plan 9 From Outer Space

Astraeos

A movie more pertinent now than ever before. I honestly get kinda tired of these nightmare dystopian type movies being even more true to life than the time they were made In short, I'm tired, boss.

Blank Elnino

Earliest wrestler turned actor I can think of is El Santo. He did movies from the 60’s to the 80’s

Den Radar Ryan

Such a classic John Carpenter flick with hands down the best movie fight scene of all time. Probably not too far from the truth of our global society lol. 🤪📼👽

This is one of my favorite Sunday on the couch, with popcorn, guilty pleasure movies!! I had always loved Rowdy Roddy Piper, so that made it a big bonus for me. Definitely a pop culture must see movie for everyone.

Vwlss Nvwls

Come on, George, you could have done better with your pun. You should have said "one might say the bad guys will have to... pay the Piper."

Zoran24

lets go, just for the "put on the glasses!" fight, this is needed.

Brandon

RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper. He was a fellow Canadian. Am I the only one who saw him and thought, "Hey, they should watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia!" just for the few episodes he shows up in? I always assumed that Carpenter intended the lead role for Kurt Russell since they worked together so well in the 80's. I figured Russell was committed to another movie at the time and Roddy Piper ended being a great fit for the role. It turns out Carpenter always wanted to work with Piper after meeting him at WrestleMania III. The movie itself? More relevant than when it was made. Disturbingly so, actually. The cops aren't part of the wealthy class, but they're so very willing to do their bidding. Not to mention the wealthy humans as a metaphor for willing collaborators. Who's the real middle class nowadays, if not law enforcement?

Shonnicus

A favorite movie of mine and mainly for the messaging. Yes John Carpenter is that Guy. This film can go as deep as you want on commentary of socioeconomic which is the best part. Love Keith David and Rowdy Roddy Piper..

Odd Thomas

Christine and Starman are great JC movies you should watch next

Tenn Seven

Bruh. Keith David was Childs in The Thing.

Thomas Yanez

I love you guys, and this was a great reaction, but I REALLY wish you would fix your editing so that you are in sync with your own video. Simone yelling before something happens in your embedded video is getting a little old.

Grumblefunk

I probably haven't watched this in 20 years but goddamn is it prophetic, tons of fun watching with you two

Jasbro

In response to the earliest wrestlers who did acting im surprised you forgot Hulk Hogan who was in Rocky 3 which was 6 years before this movie, i dont know if he was the first one though.

Drew Acheson

Heads up to Patrons, the version they are watching seems to have a different bit rate than the one on Amazon. I keep having to do micro-pauses to get back in sync. Just FYI to future watchers.

REDR58

Yes I have the brand new Shout! Factory 4K / Blu-ray set and the reaction video is slightly faster than my copy.

SpankTheMonk

Nice one! Can’t wait till they watch Ed Wood which I believe is Tim Burton’s best movie, hopefully Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing is a gateway drug to it.

SpankTheMonk

This movie lines up so well to the grift to come it is scary. That fancy dining room scene is the real horror of this film.

REDR58

Sometimes this happens that the speed of the movie they are watching is slightly different from versions available elsewhere. Noticed that the Studio Canal logo appears in front of this movie but in my US Blu-ray copy there is no such logo and it goes directly to the Universal logo. They may have had a copy with a slightly different frame rate.

Thomas Yanez

I'm not talking about that kind of sync issue. Like where they have a different frame rate, or something like that. I'm talking about the thing that happens in many many of their videos, if you pay close enough attention, where you will see, usually Simone, reacting with a sudden laugh or shriek (if it's scary), before the joke lands or the jump scare happens on the video they have embedded in their reaction. It's been this way as long as I've watched them. I regularly will intentionally have my video play about a second ahead of theirs, while otherwise completely in sync, so that Simone's reactions happen after what caused them.

SpankTheMonk

Oh Canada’s 🇨🇦 great Mr. Piper- RIP. I think Simone has watched a bit of Sunny since she made references to it. Roddey’s episodes were 🔥.

Monica Alarcon

At this point I almost lost all hope that they watch that one. But then again we're getting Naked Gun 2 1/2 this Sunday so there's always hope.

Brandon

Maniac: "You guys remind me of my kids." Dennis: "Oh you have kids, Maniac?" Maniac: "No... not anymore."

Gary Fixler

You both know at least one other wrestler turned actor: Sasha Banks. She was one of the 4 Mandalorians we met first from that group that didn't wear helmets. She's also cousins with Snoop Dogg.

Mike FromOz

Ahhh, so that's what was happening to mine. I was having the same problem. A few quick pauses and I was back on track in no time.

E. D.

When I see that actress with those eyes I always think about the movie with blind Rutger Hauer and the kid where she played the mom

Amelie W

Thanks to your commentary video I finally watched this cult classic. And now I want to watch RRR again.

Opti_Frog

I just hope they eventually get to Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness, the best cinematic depiction of Lovecraftian horror ever made.

Simone's Coconut Squire

I can't remember his name, but there was a wrestler turned actor way back in the black and white days who did a lot of horror movies.

michael denny

Cripple fight!......also Roddy Piper was the most Canadian wrestler ever.

pinkdino99

A few more great Carpenter films left - The Fog - creepy ghost story with Jaimie Lee Curtis and her mum Janet Lee. Prince of Darkness which is the only film to successfully marry religion and science. In The Mouth of Madness where Sam Neill investigates a novelist who's books drive people insane.

pinkdino99

"Are you ready for pain ? Are you ready for suffering ?" How could you forget "I 'aint got time to bleed" ex-wrestler Jesse Ventura !

JJDumbface

Hey George-- I'm a Canadian film maker whose worked on a few different Christmas movies in Alberta. One of the (many) reasons why you see Studios popping up for single films is specifically because they're meant for that one film. One of the reasons you set up a studio for a single film is that you're dealing with a more contained tax situation. Another reason is liability; it's far, FAR easier to cut your losses on a stinker of a project when you can declare bankruptcy in relation to a single project as opposed to ALL of your projects. It's why so many movies are made "In Association" with major production companies instead of being made by them. There are many more reasons, and someone could probably explain it better than me, but those are just two major reasons why you see so many studios attached to only a single project.

Doug's Night Terrors

This movie was my first reality check—long before Neo tried to eat a bowl of Wheaties without a spoon. If you’re into questioning what’s real, Dark City and The 13th Floor are underrated classics worth exploring!
