Content

We know that at this moment Better Call Saul S3 is only half way done, but by the time S3 is done, we will be on our holiday break which means we need to figure out the show between S3 and S4 ahead of time. So that's why this poll is here. As usual, whatever wins this poll, 1 season of it will be watched after S3 of Better Call Saul concludes. After which we'll return to Better Call Saul S4.

Severance is amazing and shouldn’t take too long to get through either

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Severance is awesome. Season 2 not far away either. Deadwood’s one of my favourite shows of all time - amazing dialogue

Mino Productions

Peaky Blinders is quite different than other shows you've watched, very good and quite tense. Plus the film is currently in production

ShōNuff3K

Oh boy,, fingers crossed

Brant

Putting in a recommendation for the HBO miniseries Station Eleven for the next time you need a one season series. It’s incredible.

Denashi

Severance! It is almost criminal how few reactors are watching this absolutely incredible show!

Alex Laime

Shogun for sure. IMO the best new show to come out in years. So good. Great acting, great scenery, epic. Also this poll needs The Queens Gambit.

Smooticus

Had to vote for four instead of my usual three. I think Blue Eye Samurai is right up Simone and George's alley

William Burnham

If you can get hold of Inside No 9 somewhere, you should watch that 😊😊😊😊😊

AdmiralZhou

Please, Severance! It’s such an incredible show, and season 2 is next month

Wrencher86

Shogun please. Peaky Blinders is good. But it's good in a trashy soap opera way. Whereas Shogun is just plain old, capital G Good.

Śéáń

I will always hold hope for Deadwood, some day. It's sadly so rare in the reactor space, but you'll see a lot of familiar faces in it from other shows.

Fritz

Shogun is soooo damn good. I'd love to watch the show again with you guys. It's so quick and absolutely brilliant.

Jeff K.

So badly want Succession or Deadwood. I'll happily take Shogun, though. (I haven't seen Severance yet and it feels like everyone is doing Peaky Blinders right now, which is why I'm not throwing my vote to either of those at the moment.)

Ira K.

That's absolutely diabolical of you to make me choose between Severance and Succession 😂 It's like choosing your favorite child! I'm gonna vote for both but I hope Severance wins only because I've rewatched Succession for like a billion time just last month...

Pat. N

Considering Fargo is season based, It's definitely a small show, and I'm surprised it's not here. Most of these options I wouldn't consider "small" by any means.

Joe Concepts

Severance is a great bingeable series, and when I finally discovered it I was surprised how under the radar it is. Though a very long hiatus probably is to blame for that.

Smooticus

If you do Shogun, I recommend also seeing the 1980 limited series with Richard Chamberlain and the legendary Toshiro Mifune. It's curently on Peacock or Paramount (can't remember which atm) and it's fun to not only compare how each was filmed (1980 tech vs 2024), but the different focus in the character and story arcs in the book. Both are faithful to the source material - although the 1980 is a bit closer overall. It's a fun way to see the entire novel if you've read it

Joe Concepts

I wish I could get into Shogun. Everyone says it's great, it's won all those awards. I admire it's scale, but I just have trouble getting interested in the plot. Not sure why.

Marco

Deadwood is INCREDIBLE.

Zinphad

Same and same

Dag Einar Bergli

Deadwood does not get enough love. Fantastic show

JoeE

Would also recommend the good place, derry girls, bojack horseman

Nathan Swapp

Season 1 of Westworld is fantastic. But I would probably stop after that. Season 2 is ok but it just gets convoluted and weird after that. It just works better as a one season standalone.

UnlicensedOkie

Two that I highly recommend are Carnivale and Rome Both only have 2 seasons each.

Deco

Only issue with shogun is the big cast, subtitles and reactors comments. It can make it hard to follow for a first time watch.

Raymond DeGraw

I would like to see your reactions to these shows... 1. Reacher 2. Yellowstone 3. Only Murders in the Building

Liesmith

Vote for Severance, you monsters!

Den Radar Ryan

Since you guy's have finally now watched 'Psycho', the series 'Bates Motel' would be a great watch. It is 5 Seasons of 10 x 40 min episodes so not too bad of a length. They planned the entire series as a 5 year, 50 episode arc so the series has a complete story and not one of those many series that sadly got canceled and was forever left on a cliffhanger. Also, I recommend the sequels to the original 'Psycho', in particular 'Psycho II' from 1983 which is very well written, filmed and a bit different than you'd think. Anthony Perkins is once again phenomenal in it as Normal Bates. 🙃🤘

Grumples

Agreed. Unfortunately not sure it'll ever be popular enough here to win a poll.

Ira K.

Ok, could someone please tell me if it's just me not understanding Shogun or something...I was so hyped to watch this series, and it felt so underwhelming. I'm guessing there is something I don't get...maybe? I literally suffered through all of Shogun and fell asleep multiple times. I was so ready to love it and then I just didn't. I had the same problem with Expanse. People were telling me it's a masterpiece and I tried to finish the first season 5 times (really) and I couldn't get into it. I love the slowburn and character study stuff but the writing just felt...off in both of them. Maybe that's just personal preference, or maybe I just don't get these shows. I need to find my people 😂

slowprodigy

The Terror - Season 1. (Season 2 is unrelated, and also not very good)

Ira K.

Omg yes! I felt that I was just crazy for not liking it

Adam

Being Canadian citizens and all, Have you guys ever watched trailer park boys?

Grumples

It would be worth it for their reaction to Wu alone lol

bitnaut

Blue Eye Samurai is right up there with Arcane and doesn’t get enough respect despite winning an Emmy for animation.

Zhivko Yakimov

I will admit, I still don't think Succession (39 episodes), Deadwood (36 episodes and a TV movie) or Peaky Blinders (36 episodes) fall under the "small show" category, as they are all traditional cable series, with episode length at least 55 minutes. All three are brilliant, though, so you won't be disappointed by any of them. In future polls, I would appreciate it if you could add Andor (12 episodes), given that its second and final season is coming out early next year. It is set in the Star Wars universe (between episodes 3 and 4), and is produced by the writer of Rogue One. Also, why not include Sense8 (24 episodes and a TV movie), which was created by Lana Wachowski (The Matrix), and it is very unique (the genre is low sci-fi, set in modern day).

Ira K.

Oh, I loved Terror! Is season 2 really meh or just not as good as season 1? Is it like a True Detective situation? I love the first season of True Detective and the second was fine but kind of forgettable.

Brian's Dog

LOST, season 1, and only season 1.

N Kingham

Another short show to consider the the Australian Crime drama Mr Inbetween, #149 on the IMDB TV listing, only 26 episodes each under 30 minutes a total runtime under 10 hours total.

slowprodigy

I think I only watched about 3 episodes of Season 2. I thought it was boring. Rotten Tomatoes rated s2 about 30 points less than Season 1.

Joe

Please, please watch Black Sails. It's a criminally underrated, under-watched show. It's sooooo good.

m

I would be happy with Shogun, but I really want it to be Severance

BoredLittleLady

Well, now I really hope “Severance” wins!!! And I’ll recommend “Agatha All Along” again.

Joe

Deadwood is fucking fantastic. Ian McShane's character is one of the best performances in any show ever.

Sean Barbante

I like some of the other shows listed, but put my only vote on Deadwood in order to bump it up in the poll. Fantastic show.

Funny That

Severance reminds me of The Expanse/Lost/Westwood in that I'm hoping that the second season delivers something to define the actual stakes. A lot of questions, some interesting, and enough answers to define the high concept at the shows heart, but where's the beef?

Mike FromOz

I'd really like this, and I can also help explain to folks what some of the sayings are about, places etc.

Michael Haug

I mean you gotta do Deadwood. Who cares what these other people vote for. It is top 5 show all time.

TomGas2025

I wonder if you two watched supernatural already?

Michael Nemo

Westworld is an incredible waste of time. Self-important, humorless, and pointless. Watch the film instead. (imo) :)

Philipp Roensch

Simone mentioned a few times she watched it back in the day a lot.

Philipp Roensch

They are all great sugestions, I don't have access to AppleTV though. Deadwood and Shogun would be my favorite. Blinders I just recently rewatched^^.

Ronny Boss

Deadwood is a fantastic show

Jakub Krelik

Can see how Shogun would win this poll, but Severance being more attractive then Peaky Blinders? That's a new one for me.

Tim T—

Oh, the frustration of seeing Deadwood on this poll, but not seeing it winning. Such a great show, like any Milch show.

Parabolica

I will always vote for Deadwood, even though I know it is a tough show to crack/follow on the first watch through. I just finished Severance and really enjoyed it so that gets a vote too.

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

Agreed! Peaky Blinders is one of the best series I've ever seen. Shogun is equally as good, in my opinion, and has the advantage of pretty much wrapping it's story up in the first season. I really hope they just leave well enough alone, because that series was beautiful.

Noah Smith

The leftovers would be awesome to see in the future

Golandaz

You guys should react to Star War Andor. It is the best piece of Star Wars EVER!!!

Rob Parry

What happened to the Queen‘s gambit? That was on some previous polls for short series.

Naturekitty5309

I gonna campaign for deadwood. They will ove Al's monologue scenes

Sergio Meira

Many incredibly good shows in the list, including some of my favorites. I'm rooting for Severance, though. It looks like it's going to be Severance vs. Shōgun. Severance fans, rally up!

Smapdi

Except for maybe Westworld, there's not a bad choice on this list. Severance is really something special, though.

Naturekitty5309

Deadwood. If you haven't seen it. Incredible acting in such a realistic western setting. Greatest Monologue scenes ever.

Neumann

there's no way this is getting considered for the future and even if it ends up on a poll, i highly doubt it'd get votes, but the BBC1 show In The Flesh was amazing. there were only 2 seasons, 9 total episodes before it got cancelled but it's still worth the watch. it's beautiful storytelling with quiet but impactful world-building.

Brendan Rafferty

Season One of Westworld was terrific. It went downhill from there. It became clear that the mysteries they had set up in the first season were never complete ideas the writers were going to eventually explain. They were just making it up as they went

Mastervodo

Blue Eye or Shogun! Both great!

Itbewhatitbe

its only new to George if i recall. so a lot less interest.

Chris B

Yeah. Although I did still enjoy S2 and I think it was nearly on par with S1. But S3 was a huge downgrade. It's a pity, because what they set up at the end of S2 could have been good, but instead it was a missed opportunity.

Sergio Meira

Still, that first season... I hope they just do it and then drop the show. :-)

Tay Schumaker

Severance or Shogun for me. Think you'll both love both of them, and it's the perfect time to watch Severance with S2 finally coming out next month

Adam

Your loss.

Itbewhatitbe

youre surprised that they are continuing a show that theyre both enjoying? and that a lot of people are enjoying as well?

Kyle Peterson

When is “Dark” ever going to be an option?

Parabolica

A future consideration - given how much they enjoyed Death of Stalin - would be The Thick of It - would love to see their reaction to Malcolm Tucker’s rants.

DDK

Severance!! Season 2 starts I. Jan after like a 3 year wait, would be the perfect time to start. I want Succession so bad, but it probably works better after BCS.

Jeff I.

Come on, Severance!

Ryan Alexander

Blue eye Samuri is in last. Well that settles it, there is no hope for humanity

Matthew Johnson

Gotta be Shogun! Literally no one reacts to this, but I am going to suggest it for a future series because it’s my favorite piece of filmed media of the last 10 years: please react to Station Eleven. If you need incentive, it’s based on a great CANADIAN novel!

Sam Ferguson

I hope you end up reacting to 'Deadwood' on the channel. It's genuinely one of the best television series of all time, and I'd love to see what you think of it. But if you don't officially react to it, I'd encourage you each to make time to watch it on your own at least. It's a pretty "raw" show, in terms of language and violence. But the characters and performances are unforgettable, and the writing is top notch. I think you'd both enjoy it.

Ira K.

Severance gang, we need your votes! Rally the troops

China Andronicus

The new Shogun in no way compares to the original and I can't comprehend watching it without seeing the original first. No Toshiro Mifune, no Richard Chamberlain, no Yoko Shimada or John Rhys-Davies? The original is perfection and you don't mess with that.

MPH

Peaky Blinders was my vote, but I just recently learned about Severance. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love that show.

TOGFather

I was planning to binge Shogun over Christmas, but if you guys are doing a reaction series I'll absolutely wait and watch it blind with you.

Ed Stephens

I recommend Lidia Poët as a future short watch - the first woman to practice law in Italy gets into a lot of trouble

Unpopular Culture

Really hope Severance wins, what with season 2 coming out soon it'd be perfect timing!

Kevin

I would rank the top three here as Succession > Severance > Shogun.

Kinokind

I thought Westworld kinda sputtered and died after season 2, and the series was cancelled before the end of the planned 5 season arc. On the other hand, I will continue to lobby for the Netflix series "Dark". It has 26 episodes over 3 seasons and has a beginning, middle and end. It's 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and is, in my opinion, the greatest science fiction ever made. Period. Please consider this for the future!

Jeff I.

Station Eleven would be amazing! I think they'd love it. Amazing acting and storytelling.

Kinokind

Question: Are we now living in the second Golden Age of Television?

Daniel Smith

I’m just thinking how many wtf’s and head scratching it will generate. I have watched it through twice and I’m still going wtf and scratching my head.

Ampersander7

For All Mankind is a fun space show. Imagine a fantasy space program where NASA doesn't scale back after the moon landing.

rictus grin

for me its between Westworld, Severance and Shogun that said i would suggest giving the 1980 Shogun a watch

michael murray

Seriously doubt it would get the votes as seems to be criminally underseen, but totally agree it would be great. Season 1 is only six episodes, so less than three hours - maybe they could pick it sometime regardless of votes and just blast through in one sitting and then decide whether to continue..

Brandon

I still can't believe that every reactor doesn't watch this show. 😥

Brandon

Kind of hoping Shogun pulls ahead of Severance, but Deadwood is damn good.

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

Peaky blinders !!! you should add sons of anarchy to another poll .. in the same vein .. just different time periods

Mark Melanson

Please please please do Peaky Blinders…I will rub George’s feet!!!!

sarCC

Deadwood is a must-watch. Probably tied with The Wire as the best American show of its time.

Mark Melanson

Need to Add Netflix’s Money Heist !!!

BubblyRainbows

Have they seen season one of "True Detective"? Or "Chernobyl"?

Wesley Lara

Smiling Friends is a big rec from me since there's currently only 2 seasons and each episode is like 10 minutes long

Tay Schumaker

Yes, they're both on the channel already

Steven Cavanagh

Are you going to be reacting to Amazon's Secret Level anthology series?

Tay Schumaker

The new Shogun is fantastic, and is overwhelmingly critically acclaimed

Maiki

Yes, both. Just click on "Collections" and you can see what they've already done.

J.R.

lmfao

Tay Schumaker

Know it's not usually your style, but if two shows end up neck and neck, you could have those be the next two "in between" shows, rather than a separate poll. Just a thought.

Michael

Deadwood is my favorite show ever and needs more reactions! But I can't deny that Shogun or Severence should be next...voting for all 3. But one day more reactors besides Jimmy Macram will see Deadwood! One day.

Michael

It's tied with Mystery Science Theater 3000 for my favorite show ever. I wish reactors besided Jimmy Macram would give it a shot!

Ari Ramirez

You are just in time for Severance, season 2 is starting next month!

Michael

Love this show and it's very reactable IMO

Ideal_Optimist

I cast a nomination for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. One of the most bizarre, intriguing and hilarious shows I've ever watched, starring Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnet. Best watched blind.

Bookwormy

Shogun is amazing, won all the awards (well deserved), and is perfect for the both of you. I think you'll love it.

JoshGrobansDryMouth

Please explain to me in what ways deadwood and shogun ripoff the sopranos hahahah

Gee

Have you both watched Battlestar Galactica? If not I'd really recommend that or a show that someone needs to react to 'Black Sails' a prequel to Treasure Island set at the height of piracy in the Caribbean.

JoshGrobansDryMouth

Some people just can’t help being contrarian just for the attention

JoshGrobansDryMouth

“I have no interest in history and good writing” deadwood, shogun, succession, severance… some people just can’t help but be contrarian for attention. This is an excellent list.

Patrick

Hope you eventually get round to doing Peaky Blinders. I'm going through it at the moment and it is very good.

nossieboy

Oh man.. this coulda been Deadwood’s time but nothing is gonna stop Shogun.

Alexrandom

+1 for Battlestar Galactica!

Tim Miller

Agree, Deadwood needs more reactions. Check out BA reactions, he did Deadwood.

China Andronicus

I’m aware. I’m glad people like it. I’ve also seen it and it just doesn’t compare, in my opinion.

Matthew Blackwood

Thought for sure MIDNIGHT MASS would have made the poll after yall loved Hill House so much. 7 episodes and done! It’s perfect for you!

Naturekitty5309

I agree but it looks like shogun is running away with now

Walter White

Cobra kai should be on this list

China Andronicus

So there are these things called opinions and people have them. Shocking, I know, that someone might want to share theirs for the sake of input and not for attention.

Allison Grinnell

I’m in the majority!! This is so rare for me. Severance is a brilliant, sometimes funny, mindfuck.

Naturekitty5309

One last rally cry. If you want Deadwood and you voted for other shows too. Remove the votes lets get it up there

China Andronicus

I second this vote so hard! Brilliant show. There’s actually a woman with a PHD in the golden age of piracy and she recommends this show often for its authenticity, which speaks well for it.

BubblyRainbows

Thank you! This means I don't have to wait to watch them. I can do it right now!

Naturekitty5309

Dawn Marie has also done the first season

GBmain

Far...Go... Season 1 and Season 2...

beefjerkywizard

Such and amazing show. Even seasons 3 & 5 are great.

Michael

Fargo is another show that I'm shocked doesn't have more reactions. It's perfectly suited for reactions, imo

Jeb Manning

If you want another great small show, I gotta recommend Legion. It's only got 8 episodes for it's first season. It's David Haller, the mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier, who's diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age. The way the story unfolds and the visual style of it is so cool.

Jon Burrows

I Hope Severance can pull it off another rewatch just before season 2 starts would be great

GBmain

Been requesting for years lol... I've gone through 3 name changes...quite certain they'll love it... not to mention in season 2 they'll finally see Jesse Plemons play a likeable character.

DDK

C'moonnn Severance!!

beefjerkywizard

Exactly. Based on how much they like the movie. They will also be happy to see Saul in season 1

RLYtoxic

You mean not a lot of interest as in, it was second place in one of the previous polls and almost beat out Severance in another poll?

Ari Ramirez

Good choice. A handshake is available upon request.

Tay Schumaker

There are Black Sail reactions out there. Blind Wave is doing it

Jeff K.

They need to watch Karate Kid 2 and Karate Kid 3 first. They've only watched the first one.

Jeff K.

I was always a Joel guy, but really grew to love Mike. The Netflix stuff is pretty solid too, though, but I find myself returning to more Mike episodes than any others. Plus, the movie is so damn good.

Jay S

Will keep on championing for Black Sails but great list of shows here nonetheless

Jeff I.

Yeah, I have to agree.

Viilutaja

I actually recomment 'Day Break' (2006-2007) 10 series.

JohnB

The Good Place, Please!!!

Rob Church

Any likelihood that we ever get an edited video of True Detective Season 1?

Josh B.

How about some more animated series soon like Legend of Korra, its been a long time since you finished The Last Airbender :D

Sergio Meira

I'm still hoping for Severance, but it's looking more like it will be Shogun, a great show, but less good than Severance... What a pity. If a hug is available, I'll take it!

Brandon Meng

Random shows I'd love for you to watch: White Lotus, The Bear, Invincible, Schitt's Creek, Fargo, House, Californication, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, Silicon Valley.

Graeme McCutcheon

Just a reminder for future consideration: Orphan Black deserves a place in your short shows poll (5 x 10ep), and then a place in your heart.

Joe

Yeah I've seen her reactions, along with Blind Wave & The Normies. Can't get enough of the show.

Scoobay

Is Black Mirror out for good?

mraran

Is there interest in Andor?

UNC

Makes me so sad Succession isn’t polling well, such a great show. 😢

dudewheresmycar

It is a great show, but it's polling against Shogun.

Stelio Kontos

vote peaky blinders for good luck!

Twisty Twitties

Shogun makes the most sense since it is just the 1 season and its a phenomenal watch.

p0sthum4n

I voted for Succession, but looks like Shogun is more than running away with it.

j c

You should definitely do Peaky Blinders because you get 4 seasons in 1. Watch Season 1, and you've already watched the other 3.

Jacob King

Nothing against Shogun but Severance is truly a masterpiece

Jeff I.

Yeah, that'd be another one I think they'd love. And each episode of Barry is only about 30 minutes long, so it wouldn't take as long to get through if they watched three of four episode per week (and only 8 episodes per four seasons).

Mino Productions

Canadian Shows that i've enjoyed, Working Mom's, Kims Convenience and Schitts Creek

Ron

For a future short series poll, I'd like to recommend, Devs (2020, Sci-Fi) which is only 8 episodes (about 51 min each). Written and directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Sunshine). It was planned as a short-run, self-contained miniseries and, as a result, has an actual resolution at the end of episode 8.

Walter White

Which will probably never happen lol

Jeff I.

Yea, they didn't particularly like Season 4, and the overall writing quality doesn't get any better (if anything, gradually worse) in future seasons.

Jeff K.

I feel like they'll wind up doing that one the same way they've done for Fallout and Penguin, where they just added an extra show to the schedule for the few weeks it takes to get through it.

Jeff K.

I didn't finish Orphan Black but the first few seasons were fantastic, and Tatiana Maslany is SO GOOD. Also: Michael Mando (Nacho)!

Dwight Scarn

DEXTER and INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE AMC soon pleaseee.

Chris DeLuca

Come on Severance, need to rally

HeyHeyJK

I don't see Mike Flanagan's "Midnight Mass" on the list. Y'all need to keep the Flanagan shows coming now that you've finished "The Haunting of Hill House".

DM DC

I honestly haven't seen any of these. Unless you've already seen it, might I suggest Burn Notice. One of my absolute favorite shows. Awsome cast, and just a terrific series. Not the shortest as it has 7 seasons but it's really good.

Max Carter

Shocked Succession is so low but all these shows are good. Deadwood is incredible

MarisoL

Hopefully one day you'll do Sharp Objects

G P

I watched Severance after reading the comments on the last TV poll - hoping it wins so I have an excuse to watch again!

G P

Glad I'm not the only one who felt this way

G P

Season 1 and 2 were excellent!

Sergio Meira

Damn, Severance loses again! Maybe I can appeal to G&S themselves, the highest instance in these polls, to watch it anyway? Pretty please?... Not that Shogun is bad -- quite the contrary -- but Severance has a je-ne-sais-quoi of mystery that other shows on the list don't have...

Scoobay

The later seasons are exactly the same as the others. Great episodes and not so great episodes. Still, if that’s the case, bailing when it’s so close to being done, that’s disappointing.

Sergio Meira

I have seen it, I am quite the Deadwood fan (Swearengen!). And still I'd rather see Severance win. I guess every person has their own taste in movies and series.

Sergio Meira

Looks like a lost cause already...

Sergio Meira

I'm also a bit surprised by that. If I had to choose between Deadwood and Succession, I guess I would reluctantly choose Deadwood, but Succession is also great and in our modern days quite relevant.

Ari Ramirez

Another short show suggestion (for the future): Secret Level! It's an animated anthology of short episodes based on videogames. Last batch of episodes comes out next week, and the whole "season" should be like 2 hours from start to finish.

Lachlan Caldwell

My recommendation for a great short series to watch is 'The Magicians.' Ran on the Syfy channel between 2015 and 2020. 13 episodes per season. Great storylines, great characters and character development, can get a bit meta every now and then, but those moments are handled so well by the writers they should have been winning awards. Season 3-5 each have a musical episode per season, in fact the season 5 musical episode is also a heist episode. Someone once described the show as: "If Harry Potter went to college and took a whole lot of [perception altering substances]. I really hope you check it out one day 😊

Lachlan Caldwell

Burn Notice is absolutely brilliant. I love how Michael does the voice overs explaining what he's doing, so it feels like a CIA training video on how to [misbehave]😋 Remember back in the original MacGyver when Richard Dean Anderson did the same thing? It almost feels as though Michael's voice overs were inspired by MacGyver's.

Lachlan Caldwell

When Dexter first came out, I raved about it to my co-workers and got them hooked on it too. I was sorry when Doakes left the show. He and Dexter had such great antagonistic chemistry.

Lachlan Caldwell

Invincible should definitely be added to the list.

John

I’m also game for watching Andor

Hyperdryve

I’ve heard the title but know literally nothing about it and haven’t even seen an ad for it. Might be a lot of other people in the same boat. Plus I just don’t have the time I used to for watching new shows so I haven’t gotten to looking into it yet. Feels like there’s so much content out there and so little time 🥲

HP

I would also recommend Mare of Easttown. It has only one season. Good drama and mystery.

Hyperdryve

Ya me too. I saw a few episodes of Severance, passed by the tv a few times when my parents were watching Westworld, but other than that I haven’t seen any of these.

Jeff I.

Sharp Objects was the only time the ending of a show literally made me yell "Oh, my god!" out loud. It's so dang good.

Jeff I.

Yeah, Peaky Blinders got increasingly repetitive/boring to me after the second season in terms of plot. Some great characters and acting to be sure, but the plot wasn't enough to keep me interested.

sarCC

INTERVIEW is easily the best TV drama currently running.

Daniel Bjork

Love to see Severance getting some love Shocked to see Succession not getting much

micah

omg where is andor it disappeared from the polls after coming in 3rd place like why

RabidMango

I'm most excited about Severance. The first season was phenomenal and the next comes out in about a month. Westworld started fantastic and then...was less fantastic. Deadwood was so good but then got canceled. :[ Peaky's cool. I haven't seen the others.

RabidMango

It's my favorite show currently running on TV. I pray season 2 keeps it up. Season 1 just blew my mind.

Jeff K.

I would probably lean Succession between those two, just because the third season of Deadwood didn't really do it for me, but I love that show. Succession had an elite final season, though, so it elevates it for me.

RabidMango

It doesn't get talked about enough. I'm with you, great show. And I'm starting to really appreciate one-and-done mini series'. I don't have to worry that it'll get canceled or lose quality as it goes on.

Jeff K.

If you don't think I've walked around narrating my life like I'm Michael Weston, you're sorely mistaken. "When you're a spy, and you're out of butter but want to make a grilled cheese sandwich, you can grab some mayo and concoct a viable alternative."

Jeff K.

Another channel I watch is doing Dexter currently and my jaw dropped when Jonathan Banks showed up in season two (I've watched all of Dexter, but season two aired before Breaking Bad was a thing so Banks was still just a "that guy" and not Jonathan Banks).

RabidMango

Deadwood is one of those shows I came to late after hearing over and over again how "great" it was. No way something like that would live up to the hype, right? Wrong. It was fantastic. But it was canceled and that hurts me to this day.

Jeff K.

They watched the first season on the channel, so I'd be shocked if they don't add the second into the rotation.

Justtired

Shogun is excellent. I do hope you watch Deadwood at some point.

Joe

I agree completely about Westworld, and as good as it's first season was I wouldn't have expected it to fizzle out the way it did. That's my concern for Shogun, and honestly any series that hasn't run to completion. With streaming services you never know when a lack of viewership will outweigh the cost of production and a show will get cancelled. It sucks, but it happens all the time. I would much rather see something like DARK on a poll, and will continue to beat the drum for the following:

Joe

The Leftovers and Watchmen. Also, mentioned in this thread, Sharp Objects, Silicon Valley, and Midnight Mass would all be fantastic.

BoredLittleLady

Yes! I’m actually rewatching it right now. Cobra Kai!!!

BoredLittleLady

I don’t understand what CineBinge has against sequels?! I mean Karate Kid 2 and Karate Kid 3 are great.

Rob Bob

Respectfully, the shortest show possible lol. I NEED more BCS reactions in ma life!

Sean Hennessy

Some other suggestions for "short" TVshows. The Good place, Sherlock (BBC version), Bodyguard (BBC)

Happy Hanukkah

+1 for Babylon 5. I'm even OK with their watching the first and last seasons off-channel.

Jeff K.

I'm always hesitant to suggest Sherlock. I love it, but the quality varies so wildly from episode to episode. Basically every season, you have one great episode, one good episode, and one very meh episode.

jmundt33a

Shogun. It’s growing on me.

jmundt33a

Reaching not the way back, I enjoyed Pushing Daisies. If you can find John Doe or Brimstone, they are both solid single season sci-fi offerings.

Smooticus

I don't know if Simone and George would fully get many of the cultural references, but they need to do Venture Bros.

AVATAR-X

Speaking of which, it's been more than a couple of years since Season One debuted and with Season Two releasing in a month, there is likely to be a significant uptick in interest for the show on Google and Youtube. Not to mention there has been a bunch of press being done by the cast and creators leading up to the new season, further driving interest (Ben Stiller's "Hot Ones" interview amassed 2M views on YouTube in the last week). Worth considering as CineBinge closes in on 200k subs.

Zhivko Yakimov

I probably need to rewatch the original miniseries, as my memories are a bit faded. However, I enjoyed the new version a lot, and I find it very close to the spirit of the novel (which I have read several times), even though they shifted some storylines. I don't remember being so much enamoured with the original series, I thought it focused a bit too much on Blackthorne. However, I may be wrong, so I will look it up. It has Toshiro Mifune as Toraganaga, after all, so it will be worth rewatching just for that reason.

Zhivko Yakimov

Perhaps I should have been clearer, so I apologize. My point was that the three series I listed all have a continuous narrative, so you cannot just jump on and off, so it is a considerable time investment. And I am very much aware how network TV used to work 10-15 years ago, though most seasons had more like 20-22 episodes on average. You should mind that those were shorter episodes, though, like 43-45 minutes, because of ads. Meanwhile, cable TV series had no advertising, so you had the average episode at about 55-60 minutes, making a typical network TV series season the equivalent to about 15-16 episode season on cable TV. Of course, this is no longer relevant with streaming now, when you can have any episode length you want since no one is watching it at a set hour of the day, as it used to be the case. I admit, I miss a bit these times a bit, when I knew that the hot new HBO show would be on at 9 PM every Monday (HBO used to air its flagship shows on Mondays in Central and Eastern Europe, for context).

יוסי פורקוש

you will love: Justified, Battlestar Galactica, and if Simone did not watch HOUSE its the best ever

Muir Lyman

I'm voting Deadwood, in spite of the seemingly recency bias is showing in the poll

Foodassassin4life

Instead of watching Blue Eye Samurai, please watch Cowboy Bebop. In my opinion it’s far and away better.

SaulGoodman

Recency bias showing a little bit for Shogun, but that didn't stop me from voting for it. It really is great.

Mike FromOz

I know you are kind of over Black Mirror, but could I get you to watch two more episodes which aren't so bleak? 'Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too' from Season 5, and 'Joan is Awful' from Season 6. Both are more fun and upbeat, while keeping some of the tone of the show.

DinChild

I'm excited for Shogun...but Severance first. Especially with the second season about to come out. The timing is right. Shogun is great...later :-)

Ira K.

I really didn't expect to love Succession as much as I do when I first started watching it! Such a great TV show

mraran

I hope it is so they can schedule it around the time s2 releases because they can drive more interest at that time.

Honey Hermsen

Ah, I was hoping for Azumanga Daioh to be on here. It's so funny, cute, weird and has a lot of heart. And it's pretty short with 26 episodes à 20 minutes

Kyle Baker

I'll throw in a suggestion for next time that has no chance! Slow Horses.

My name is Jere

YUP, those Vids were so nice that i had to watch them twice

beefjerkywizard

I just started season 4. Such a good show

Stephanie Bedworth

Here's to hoping that HotD season 2 is gonna show up one of these days.

Felreign

I will recommend Gravity Falls for the future

Opti_Frog

Very, very happy with either Severance or Shōgun.

Lars G

Shogun is great, but Severance is so good. Bummed it has fallen behind, but hopefully they get to it at some point.

Lars G

I feel like it’s the best show on tv that no one seems to watch or talk about.

Anamondaris

Devs is really good 👍

Anamondaris

I doubt it. If you watch the full reactions you’ll notice they don’t talk much because they’re so engrossed.

Anamondaris

I love Station Eleven💜

Tom M

Succession pleeease! I honestly feel it’s the best show ever made. It doesn’t have swords or robots but the writing and acting are amazing. Also the story is relevant to the Murdoch’s current drama and the election storyline is relevant to the last two US presidential elections. It’s a drama but very funny too. There’s zero filler episodes.

Boop

Severance is incredible and the new season comes out next month!

China Andronicus

I’m not going to continue arguing with you and give you the attention you clearly want because I know George and Simone like to keep the board free of fighting. So enjoy thinking whatever you want. 😊

Snuggelbum

No for fucks sake, it HAS TO BE Shogun! Omg! Series of the year!

Tom M

Awesome show. Another crime one though.

Tom M

Curious how many streamers people have? I have 5 at the moment: Netflix, Max, Peacock, Paramount+, Prime. (4 really, prime is for shipping—never find much on there.) So I haven’t seen Shogun and Severance which are on Hulu and Apple, right? I’ve had Netflix since dvds, HBO got my loyalty during the pandemic when they released all the WB movies straight to streaming; plus elite prestige tv for decades. Peacock I wanted to watch one NFL game this year and forgot to cancel. Paramount just recently because I wanted to watch the new Fassbender spy show.

MR ROBOT

Alex Ch

USA shows are definitely my put it on while cleaning comfort food. I think I’ve rewatched all of Monk on my own.

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

I have Netflix, Max, Prime, Hulu, and about 115 movies on Vudu/Fandango. That said, 90% of the time, I'm watching YouTube Premium, lol.

CD

C'mon Severance!

erosennin

pleeease make it Deadwood!

PostMan

If you do ever get around to watching WestWorld I would recommend stopping after season 1. It does close the series in a sense but leaves things open to interpretation. But that's just my opinion.

Sergio Meira

I don't like the official ones, except perhaps HBO which I have. But I am also more often than not watching YouTube Premium or Nubi.

Sergio Meira

I disagree, I'd rather have Severance (or even Deadwood), but Shogun is also a great series. So I'm not unhappy it has won.

Sergio Meira

You're certainly right, Succession is very relevant to our current political shenanigans in the US and in the world. Still... I'd go for Severance. Succession is at times too depressing...

Frestokk

The first season of Westworld is really good, but I have to agree that it falls off from there on. Still my top pick in this poll!

Logan Whitaker

I have joined your Patreon specifically to begin spamming you with requests for you to watch “landman” and I will not stop until it happens. Thank you :)

Stephen Pratt

Severance is absolutely brilliant! You guys should do it even if it doesn't win.

John Zelinka

None of the above. I'll rejoin you when you get back to Better Call Saul season 4. I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you pick--just not my cup of tea.

Itbewhatitbe

they put out something new every day and you find nothing of value to stay except for one tv show? that is insane lol

John Zelinka

Perhaps you misunderstood my comment. Of all the shows listed in their latest poll none appeal to me. I've enjoyed many other things they have reacted to over time, just not this group. I was only referring to the poll.

Itbewhatitbe

ah, well "ill rejoin" def made it sound like youre leaving cause 1 poll didnt interest you and BCS was the only thing you wanted.

Dave

I’ve got to say that while Deadwood is by far my favorite show of all time, this is an amazing list and I’d be happy to see a reaction to any of them. Looking forward to Shogun!

Cory Garron

Re-watching Severance and I can't wait for the day they re-act to this show, and to hear they're commentary on all the little things.

beefjerkywizard

I rewatched the Home Alone reaction recently and Simone does bring up the fact that Catherine O'Hara is in Schitt's Creek which might mean she has watched it.

Ginger

Too bad they forgot to have things happen in season 3. Hopefully season 4 will pick up again

Khan1001

For those who have not seen Shogun, you are in for a treat, its outstanding!

rictus grin

i still slightly prefer the 80's mini series

China Andronicus

Yeah, it’s hard to top Mifune. I do know the original series focuses more on Blackthorne than the book as a whole does. It’s also part of what let me down in the new version, that the new actor lacked serious charisma and I couldn’t understand why Toranaga would be interested in him. When Chamberlain played the character, it made sense.

Jeff K.

I have not seen the '80s version so can't speak to that one, but I can say that when it came to the 2024 version, I kept hearing everyone talking about how great it was and I was like, "There's no way it can possibly live up to all of this hype." Then I watched the first episode and was like, "I was very wrong." It absolutely met, and probably even surpassed, the hype for me.

sarCC

I really liked it until the thing that hapoens near the end. I probably won't watch the next season because of it.

Khan1001

Same, its bitter sweet without going into spoilers. It was only ever meant to be 1 season, they covered the whole book, but with everything now days, if its a hit they have to do another season or sequel, season 2 will be interesting however, especially if its made by the same creative team and writers etc.

Tom M

Can I suggest you cover select classic episodes of Seinfeld like you did for The Simpsons? They kind of stand alone anyway. Simone makes Seinfeld references sometimes. Or Curb.

Nate Terry

Heres a small show. only 4 seasons. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! the 2004 reboot. best SCIFI tv series of the new millennium. it has Edward James Olmos, Mary Mcdonnell, Katee Sackoff, Michael Hogan, and....some other interestingly recognizable faces sprinkled throughout...

Sergio Meira

Oh, I'm so sad to be sad that Shogun won -- because Shogun is an excellent show, and I'll have a lot of fun with your reactions to it. It's just that I'm really curious about how you would face the weirdness that is Severance... but there will be other polls, other moments. Looking forward to Late Medieval / Early Modern Japan! Ii desu ne?!

Ginger

I started watching Shogun and stopped 30 minutes into epieode one, just too gruesome for me personally. But wishing you a lot of fun, from what I hear it's still a great show.

Adam

Why don't more reactors react to Mare of Easttown? It's such a great show and it's only 7 episodes.

Cory Garron

I admit, I kinda want to see George's reaction to Mister Wu.

Bill Haynes

This poll is long finished but I wanted to drop a suggestion for the show Reservation Dogs, which I think both George and Simone would love (meaning it’s a show I love—yeah, that’s fair.). I’m new to the channel and I so enjoy re-watching stories and seeing fresh reactions. Cheers!

John_rd

Thankfully West world didn't win. So over the top complicated. The movie is great though.
