On the subject of getting to eat whilst acting, most interviews i've read with actors talking about doing endless takes whilst eating were usually put off that food forever.

With the tone and scale shifts, this film is the template for the rest of the franchise. It gets bigger and wilder from here. The first one is almost pedestrian in comparison.

Yep. I've read that's why you so often see actors using a knife and fork for, say, pizza, because you can make it look like you're doing something in the "act of eating" without actually doing it. I can't remember who it was... I think either Patton Oswalt or Jason Mantzoukas... told a story about being on a show one time and the scene calling for them to eat some waffles, so they thought it'd be funny to just absolutely house them... only to realize that once they committed to that bit, they'd need to do it about 10 times.

Simone, to answer your question, I don't know if the car Brian drives is specifically UK, however I do know he always drives import (imported from another country) and Dom drives American muscle.

It's JDM, from Japan, like the UK, cars drive on the left side of the road and drivers sit on the right side of the car. Same as in Australia

I never noticed the multiple uses of “How do you like them apples?” in this. I wonder if it was an intentional nod to the fact the bad guy in this, Cole Hauser, was in that movie and obviously that specific scene.

Also, on the same note as the sexy women thing, commenting on Luda being so horny in the movie... of course he is, he's got hoes! Hooooooes... in different area codes, area codes... (By the way, I love the fact that the scene in which they introduce Luda's character features one of his songs, which features the lyrics, "2 Fast! 2 Furious!" because there is absolutely no subtlety in this franchise, and I love it for that.)

As a person who hung out in the racing scene during this time, a lot of people were looking forward to this franchise. But the first one was an absolute disappointment. I hated everything about it, because everything about it was stupid. Not even stupid fun, just stupid, boring, and underwhelming. It was just a Point Break rip off by someone who clearly didn’t understand anything about Point Break. These movies do get better with each installment because they fix their mistakes with each one. I feel 2 should have been 1, but Diesel being in Brian’s position. 3 is a complete departure, and it takes place is Japan, but it’s still fun. My favorite one is 4, Diesel returns and the plot is the most gritty. Then it just goes way over the top after that. Diesel didn’t return for 2 because he was being pulled in three different directions by three different franchises that he started(Riddick, Fast, Xxx). He chose the Riddick sequel and the studio moved this franchise forward without him.

There is an interview with Chris Pratt from his time on Parks & Rec where he did the same in a scene where he was eating racks of ribs but he managed it without regretting it :)

My brother and I went to see this movie in the theatre when it first came out. Once the film ended a slow clap started in the audience and before we knew if the entire theatre was standing and clapping. It was like a scene out of a movie. It still boggles my mind.
