Stranger Than Fiction is a gem. Cinderella Man is great as well as Hidden Figures! Excellent choices all around 😎

Dirge Girl

Shadow of the Vampire, 12 Monkeys, In the Mouth of Madness, Gremlins 2, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hundreds of Beavers, The 'Burbs, The Toxic Avenger, The Wedding Singer, So I Married an Axe Murderer, The Bob's Burgers Movie, Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers, Wallace & Gromit in Vengeance Most Fowl, Grosse Pointe Blank, Swingers, Almost Famous, The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), Reality Bites, Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer, RAVENOUS, Dark City (Directors Cut), Little Shop of Horrors, Canadian Bacon, Brazil, Reanimator, A Boy and His Dog, Bad Times at the El Royale, The Royal Tenenbaums, Heathers, and/or See How They Run... please and thank you. I'm out. Peace everyone.

Skylar Burns

Wind River on a poll? Never expected to see that! Super underrated gem! That most certainly won't win but gives me hope for one day!

Nathan Jasper

Hard to choice just one. Literally anything but STF 😆

R. Chang

Stranger than fiction is a great movie and probably Will Ferrel’s best. I wouldn’t really call it a drama though. As to whether it’s a comedy - well that’s a question the movie asks itself. Certainly it’s funnier than a lot of other things that call themselves comedies.

Balmung

I think it's fair to say that the rankings aren't always reflective of which are the best movies, but for this category, it's important to remember that some of these movies are suuuuuper heavy and kind of a bummer(rightly so), so please take that into consideration, CB.

Michael

Manchester by the sea is a crazy sad movie, but really good. Casey Affleck is amazing in it

Jay Davis

I can't not vote for Stranger Than Fiction here.

GoodManTheDan

Yeah. Delighted to see Stranger Than Fiction and Hidden Figures on a poll.

GnolRevilo

Wind River was a surprise hit for me. A moving film.

Mike FromOz

Agreed. It's got my vote.

Zhivko Yakimov

Just have in mind that Lord of War is a highly fictionalised portrayal of the actual person. That guy, by the way, was recently released from the US and handled back to Russia, so he is still doing what he was in for, as Russia obviously needs the guns right now ...

Jeromy M

Brutally beautiful film

Kevin Ehle

Finally, WIND RIVER. Beautifully shot movie not far from where I grew up. ❤️

DemNikoArt

For drama / thriller I have two suggestions: - The machinists (psychological thriller with a super thin Christian Bale) That kind of "what is real and what is not" movie 😉 - One hour photo (psychological thriller about an obsessed photo store clerk) With a frightening and magnificent Robin Williams in one of his best roles.

m

Some good movies on there, I only need the polls to have a tad more Cloud Atlas on them

Arcade Sufi

A film I'd recommend for horror is 'possession' (1981).

ShōNuff3K

Come on people. Wind River or Stranger Than Fiction.

ShōNuff3K

Hell or High Water ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alexrandom

The colour purple is extremely underrated. It's incredible and you will cry watching it! It's a beautiful film :)

David Lengyel

The Wind River is a criminally underrated movie, one of Taylor Sheridan's best.

Smooticus

LoW didn't really resonate with me when I saw it in theaters in spite of it's subject matter. It was good, but it really isn't one that I feel I must see again. There are much better movies on this list IMHO

Bryan

Please add The Village (2004), Into the Wild (2007), and The Wrestler (2008) into the next movie polls. Thanks!

Smooticus

Had to give a vote to Wind River - a very underappreciated film, and The Color Purple - who's age and the fact it wasn't somethiing shown over and over on Turner in the 90's and 2000's handycap a very good movie that launched the careers of Whoopie Goldberg and Oprah, who's performances by both is stellar

Random Nevermind

Two dramas I would like to suggest: Lady for a day (1933) Atonement (2007)

Daniel Smith

I never realised I love Will Farrell when he isn’t being Will Farrell.

Smooticus

Throwing my hat of suggestions for future drama movies are... Paris, Texas - Simone would love this one The Mission - Jeremy Irons and Robert DeNiro, how can you not see this movie? The Sand Pebbles - probably steve McQueen's best performance as a sailor on an American river gunboat in 1920's China. An interesting allegory of America's involvement in SE Asia at the time. would like to see George's take on it Three Days of the Condor - the romance mihgt be a bit dated, but otherwise an intelligent, tight, well paced little spy movie. This is right up George's allyey smart people tryinig to make smart decisions, each operating within their own agendas and motivations. No bumbling badguys fumbling about like keystone cops. Year of the Dragon - great 80's noir

micah saldana

hoping for either Wind River or Manchester, both are really good.

Daniel Smith

Another film to consider Dan in real life. Steve Carrol in a nice family drama/rom com. Really nails a particular family dynamic.

streetduck

Glad to see Manchester by the Sea here. It's easily my favorite drama film ever

Tcrimson05T

It's time for Stranger than Fiction.

Raymond DeGraw

I love your reactions... Always looking forward to seeing these in the future... 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. Falling Down 3. Secondhand Lions 4. R.E.D. 5. Holes

sarCC

I know you've at least dipped your toes into Indonesian action films. And while I'm usually trying to get everyone to watch their horror films(the output from there has been consistently terrific the past 8 years), of which Timo Tjahjanto has made a few, the action movie he directed last year, THE SHADOW STRAYS, blew me away. It's really, really great. I think I last described it as Man On Fire meets The Raid.

Stephanie Bedworth

Sweet suffering jesus, Wind River and Stranger than Fiction on the same poll. How do I choose? How could you put me in this position? HOW!?

Philipp Roensch

I'm still sad from the last time I saw Manchester by the Sea, but ok, let's do it.

warcrimes

Wind River is very underrated. Such a good movie.

Da Big Appa

I hope you guys get to The color Purple some time since it's a great movie that everyone should see and probably the most dramatic movie on the list.

JoeE

Would also recommend dog day afternoon, mother night, anatomy of a murder

Nemo

I'm sure these are already in your recommendation queue but in case they aren't. Here are some good movies: "Big Fish" (2003), "The Last Duel" (2021), "Ladder 49" (2004), "La La Land" (2016), "Silence" (2016) "The Intouchables" (2011), "Atlantis" (2001), "Brother Bear" (2003) "The Accountant" (2016).

Mike FromOz

That is an amazing film. Would be an interesting reaction for sure.

Rayna Storie

Oh I love lord of War That's one of my favorite movies

Jason McCloud

Now would have been a good time to include Only the Brave

Thomas Thompson

Lord of War has the best opening sequence ever. I dont remember much of the rest of the movie.

Henry Sanchez

Oh man Manchester by the Sea please. I need Simmone’s reaction to that

Legal Streams

Lord of War is one of the best movies i've seen!

Henry Sanchez

Hell or High Water needs to be an option. Same writer as Wind River, also same writer as Yellowstone. Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Jeff Bridges. That’s all I’ll Say about it. Extremely underrated and under seen

Mastervodo

The Color Purple used to be one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. And really is a classic. However, Hidden Figures is also very good. And has Janelle Monet in it, who is an amazing person.

davidov

Ooh Lord of War is doing well! Really really liked that one, thought it was surprisingly exciting/engaging/funny and disturbing, never really understood why it has become one of those forgotten movies you rarely hear anything about. Pleasantly surprised it might win :)

MaikeruNeko

I would love to see Stranger Than Fiction or Wind River get some traction here. So very rarely reacted to, and both so very deserving.

Tay Schumaker

Manchester by the Sea almost broke me

Dustin Merchant

Finally Wind River. Been hoping you'd watch it for 2 years.

Richard Burrell

I don’t know if Simone could handle Manchester by the Sea but - DO IT! 🤣

Kron0n

Yay, Lord of War \o/

Daniel VanDusen

Definitely Big Fish! I haven't seen that one in a long time but it's such a good movie.

Jeff I.

Wind River will never win a poll, but you two really have to see it someday. It's amazing! Stranger than Fiction wasn't bad when I saw it, but I couldn't really get into it all the way. It's about as much of a comedy as it is a drama.

Alex

Other drama movies worth watching: - A Very Long Engagement (2004) (Audrey Tautou from Amélie) - Dog Day Afternoon (1975) (Al Pacino) - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) (Jack Nicholson) - Show Me Love - (1998)

CarolynK

Simone will love Stranger than Fiction. It's so good.

CarolynK

Stranger Than Fiction is so deserving.

Jeremy

I think I have only seen two reactions to Stranger Than Fiction and one is from a streamer I won't watch. I really want this movie to get a bigger audience.

Nathan Swapp

"Actually It's 'warlord' " "thank you, but I prefer it my way."

Guy-on-Couch

I really hope you guys get to Cinderella Man

Theo Bracco

Stranger than fiction has one of the "curly hair comedians" George likes.

PG Modehouse

Lord of War has a time lapse montage that is one of my favorite in cinema

Tim T—

Brazil (1985) is certainly dramaaatic.

HereBeMeghan

Fingers crossed Stranger Than Fiction gets high up there in the voting!

rick trevino

Wind River is amazing and should have more votes..hope to see it one day on the channel if it doesnt win here.

FWPJR.

Oh man, two weeks in a row where I haven’t seen any of the movies. I think I need to watch more movies lol I voted for Cinderella Man even though I haven’t seen it, I like Russell Crowe and I love boxing movies.

Roby J

It hasn't been on a poll in a while, but Big Fish would be a good watch if you're looking for something dramatic.

MacGuffinStuff

I feel like The Color Purple is one of those movies that will never win a poll, I think it's a beautiful movie, tragic at times, it's rough but so was life for these people. Great storytelling and amazing performances from the cast. And to think that Spielberg at first declined to direct because he didn't feel worthy of it, but Quincy Jones talked him into it, and it was part of what inspired Spielberg to later direct Schindler's List. Purple is also my favorite color, because it's not even real lol, actually indigo is my favorite color, an indigo sky is magical.

Jihad Lee

I’m honestly shocked the Color Purple is losing by that much…and Hidden Figures is the one ahead of it. I guess I’m voting Lord Of War

Anamondaris

I think Wind River is Taylor Sheridans best work imo

Anamondaris

Oh man, Wind River and Manchester By The Sea are both great but probably not going to win☹️

Skip577

Doesn’t look like it’s going to win but I’ve been waiting to see Simone get wrecked by Manchester. Easily the best made film on this list.

Jeff I.

If y'all ever do Manchester by the Sea, please be aware that it's more of an understated, slow burn character study than a traditional drama. It's a good movie overall, but I would have enjoyed it more if I'd known that going into it, since it felt like it really dragged in some places as far as the pacing IMO.

Ian Hunt

Wind River or Stranger than Fiction for me

Jeff I.

Have to agree. Hell or high Water is great, but Wind River has more heart/emotion to it that takes it up a notch above the other.

Alex Laime

Both of these are great. Stranger Than Fiction is an interesting premise, and IMO Will Ferrel's best work.

Snuggelbum

Please consider a movie called 'Once Were Warriors' from 1994, made in New Zealand!

Darin Foat

I'd like to explain why Stranger Than Fiction would be such a brilliant film to react to, but I can't really say anything without spoiling it. I just hope you guys watch it someday, regardless of the poll.

Blkm44

I really hope The Color Purple gets picked to watch one day by executive decision, because it looks like it winning a poll is not gonna happen anytime soon.

Rob Church

Freddy Got Fingered for next poll.

Tim Miller

Man, lots of good movies here. I’m happy to see Lord of War winning but Stranger than Fiction, Wind River and Cinderella Man would be great too.

JarHead0351

Hidden Firgues or Wind River are the only two choices for me

Muir Lyman

IMO Stranger Than Fiction is massively underrated and under-viewed, especially in the reactor community. I think Simone will really like it. It's my favorite thing Will Ferrell has ever done.

Armchair Rizzard

Stranger than Fiction would be a much better movie than the current winner. No insult to it.

CT

In Trek:TNG season 2, episode 16: references are made to The Color Purple. That's about 11 months away. Hope you get to it before then, as it doesn't look like it can win a poll.

Lachlan Caldwell

Both Stranger Than Fiction and Lord of War are solid movies. I do think Stranger Than Fiction is Will Farrell's best work. I think he does better at non-comedy roles - that's just my opinion.

Zectorman

Lord of War is amazing

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

Poll recommendations for this week: OBLIVION (2013) by Joseph Kosinski, starring Tom Cruise, and THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS (1992) by Michael Mann, starring Daniel Day-Lewis.

Seymor Butz

Stranger than Fiction is such a good movie. Hope you get to it eventually.

Mike FromOz

Stranger than Fiction has a much better flow and story structure to it. Lord of War is tentatively based in truth, but only sparsely. I'd prefer a well written fiction over a more clumsy attempt at showcasing reality.

Johnnycharco

I'd love to see you react to The Color Purple, it's an incredibly touching film.

Johnnycharco

I had to look this one up. That's awesome. :)

Kevin

Yall gotta watch Prisoners!!!

James Kennedy

Manchester By The Sea is never gonna win, I don’t think anyone has reacted to it yet :(

HeyHeyJK

Man, there have been a lot of interesting/unexpected poll options of late. I've only seen one of these, so I guess I'll vote for that one! Also, can I throw out a Valentine's Day suggestion? I think you would L-U-V-love "Punch Drunk Love" with Adam Sandler and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It was Sandler's first film to break out of his goofy comedies, and it's in my top ten favorite films of all time. It lives in its own weird little world and is such a unique film in PTA's filmography. You would both love it, but I think Simone would appreciate the most as its such an interesting departure from her typical romcom favs. I really hope you watch it one day, even if it's not on the channel . 'k, bye!

Faidra Galaxy

Stranger Than Fiction is a great movie. Sad only at least two reactors have watched it. Well, even if it doesn't win, I'll definitely look forward to when you get around to watching it.

Martin

Cinderella Man deserves more love than it’s getting.

Spence Lee

Does “The Town” ever get into these polls?

Martin Roca

Lord of War is probably the best Nicolas Cage movie

Brandon Meng

There's one reaction for it on YT and you can tell the person was moved by the movie but he was also like "why am I watching this, this is so hard to watch" almost constantly ... Simone and George's reaction to it would be soooo good

Brandon Meng

That moment when you finally see the movie you've been plugging for months finally come up as a poll option only for it to be obliterated by the other options Manchester by the Sea is the best movie for me in this list, one of my all time favorites actually and one of my favorite examples of all-time great acting performances (Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams). Other dramas missing from this list: Perks of Being a Wallflower Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri The Royal Tenenbaums Sideways/Election/The Holdovers/Nebraska/The Descendants ANYTHING BY DIRECTOR ALEXANDER PAYNE PLEASE But I really, really hope you don't give up on Manchester by the Sea and keep it around on polls. It is just too good to ignore. Cheers!

Alex Ch

I’d love to see The Sting, winner of a huge number of Oscars, and a delightful heist film.

Travis

Manchester by the Sea will probably not get a lot of love but what a good, deep, super heavy movie about masculine sadness among other things

sam riedel

Lord of war winning is a shame

Fattydoe

Lord of war is such a well made movie. It doesnt get the respect it deserves. Very underrated

Adam

I"m new to the community and I'm not sure how you choose which movies to put on polls. Is this the place to suggest movies for future polls?

Cinebinge

hi Adam! commenting on polls or sending direct messages is the best way. but we read every comment in any video so any suggestions you have will be logged :)

Actuarial Lurker

Hidden Figures is great- even if a bit sentimental

JayF

Cinderella Man and Wind River are easily the two best on this list. Hidden Figures was also good.

Hollis Hamilton

Stanger Than Fiction is great. Will Ferrell's best in my opinion. It's been two years since they reacted to Sicario. They need to hit Wind River and Hell or High Water, all written by Taylor Sheridan.

Garrett Jay Christian

I know I've definitely seen Three Billboards suggested before, so that'll be in the backlog, and there is sort of a surprising dearth of Wes Andersons so far (minus Grand Budapest).

Jacob King

I never really got Lord of War. The true story is way more compelling. He did recently get traded for Britney Griner which is weird, I guess. Pig would be my pick for a Nicholas Cage drama. I’m voting Stranger Than Fiction. Yes, it’s a comedy/fantasy but I prefer both those genres to drama anyway.

Jacob King

I’d put The Night Comes for Us against any John Wick sequel. Not Indonesian, but If you’ve got Shudder and haven’t seen Saloum I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch.

Farbod

Surprised Cinderella Man isn't handily winning this one. Great film.

Alex Tamayo

Stranger than fiction is Will Farrells best work. And underrated movie to say the least.

Dee Aitch

I think this entire poll is movies that I've never watched. I may have seen The Color Purple ages ago. So ... maybe this is a full watchalong one.

BoredLittleLady

I prefer The Color Purple musical that recently came out with Halle Bailey.

Bookwormy

HIdden Figures is so good

Max Carter

Good poll although I haven't seen Cinderella Man. My vote probably is either Hidden Figures or Wind RIver but would be happy with any of these. Could I maybe suggest Spotlight for a future poll? It is a tough subject matter but an important story and a superbly made film with a great cast

Golandaz

Cinderalla Man is super underrated. Glad it is on your radar

Golandaz

Not a lot of people know about it

Sergio Meira

My vote is for The Color Purple, but basically any of these movies (I've seen all except for Lord of War) would be excellent reaction material.

Amphigory

Yeah, I feel like we cant lose here

Ryan Alexander

Really hope they get around to Cinderella Man some day. Fantastic movie, and a true story. As true as Hollywood movies get at least

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

Don’t worry, once it’s in the polls, it’s just a matter of time. Don’t despair!

Michael M.

Really hoping for Manchester by the Sea, precious few reactors have done it at this point

Vellu

Two fun little drama movies, both inspired by real events: Fly Away Home (1996, Jeff Daniels, Anna Paquin) October Sky (1999, Jake Gyllenhaal, Laura Dern)

Bill the Alderman

Stanger than fiction will eventually win. I'm REALLY looking forward to the day.

HeyHeyJK

"Pig" was so good.

Chase Schleich

I can't believe Lord of War is winning. That's the only film on this list I actually care to watch again and it's actually winning lol. That never happens. Actually, I take that back. Just realized Cinderella Man is on there too. Haven't seen that in 15 years so that one is due for a rewatch. Doubt that one would ever win a poll though.

Benjamin-Ian Astley-schaack

Wind River is incredible, there is one particular scene that is really, reallllly hard though.

Rupert Purcat

I hope George and Simone watch 'Cinderella Man' and 'The Colour Purple' when they have a free slot for the sake of great cinema. By far Cinderella Man is the best dramatic movie in the list. Hidden Figures is a brilliant and enjoyable movie experience and is a must watch, while 'Wind River' is an awesome thriller and 'Manchester by the Sea' is a real gritty well-acted intense watch. Which brings us to 'Lord of War' an enjoyable Nick Cage movie worth watching once, and the Will Farrel movie where he is trying to be the straight man.

Tyler Foster

I paid to get it on another channel but tragically her video cut out in the last 20 minutes so it will never be edited for the public YouTube channel and is only a Patreon Exclusive.

Tyler Foster

Just like the last time Stranger Than Fiction was on a poll, I think if you look at the comments and see how many likes the comments praising Stranger Than Fiction have, and the enthusiasm in those comments, and how many comments there are mentioning StF, maybe you'll consider bypassing the polls and just watching it for the channel.

Stephanie Bedworth

I always call it the Will Ferrell movie for people who don't like Will Ferrell.

Jeff I.

Yeah, it's really surprising what wins the polls sometimes compared to the competition. 80% of the time it's not a movie I have much, if any, interest in seeing a reaction to. I mean, Lord of War is pretty average to me compared to some of the other movies on this list.

Be Human

Some great flicks that need to be checked out- Natural Born Killers Lucky Number Slevin Layer Cake

Gerardo Benedetto

I'd love to see you watch Munich by Steven Spielberg. It's a great and very current movie.

MPH

It's so mediocre lol. Cheap Blow knockoff. Speaking of that movie, they should watch Blow.

MPH

Lord of War is a cheap knock-off of Blow. You should just watch Blow. It's way better.

Ginger

"Stranger than Fiction" is many things but not Drama ^^ One of my favorite films, I really hope you'll watch some day. It's one of these hidden gems: People who find it, love it. Even if it didn't come close, now I'm sad that the poll happened over the couple of days when I couldn't subscribe, therefore was unable to votw for it. Just mentally add +1 to it. ^^

Ginger

NBK is a very well made film that I'd never want to watch again. xD

Ginger

Exactly :)

Ginger

That being said, I'm not sad about Lord of War winning either and don't get the criticism in the comments. I watched the DVD more than a couple of times when it came out and remember liking it a lot. Also not a drama if you ask me, more satire.

Ginger

I think this is my favorite role of his because it's a very downplayed non-comedic performance in what I'd call a heartfelt comedy. It's the kind of Jim Carrey in "Truman Show" comedy. (which could be argued much more than STF if it's a comedy or not. It certainly has comedic elements)

Ginger

Leave a Like, if you scrolled down to like all the comments praising Stranger Than Fiction just so they can see how much people would like for them to watch it. xD

Mike FromOz

I'd say that StF is what you'd call a Comedy-Drama. Light hearted, funny moments, but with an undercurrent of drama behind it. Not so funny as to make it a fully fledged comedy, not so serious it's just a drama. It rides the line well. As for Lord of War, it's ok, but it's got that thing where the source material is much more interesting than the movie plot. And a lot of things are played off as "this would be cool to show, even if it didn't happen like that", and in doing so kind of removes the kind of real world impetus and implications behind it.

Itbewhatitbe

its categorized on IMDB as drama, and thats what they go off of. theres no other way for them to know if they havent seen it.

Ginger

I know, this is no criticism of them. This would be a fun conversation to have after watching the movie but I don't want to spoil anything. ;)

Ginger

Is Sideways a drama? I'd consider ia a comedy.

Kelly Pickard

Suggestions for future polls: - The King's Speech (2010) - Margin Call (2011) - The Birdcage (1996) - The Madness of King George (1994) - Hook (1991) - The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (1994) - Logan Lucky (2017)

Theo Bracco

They should do the original Cage aux Folles, even though I really like the 1996 version, the original is better.

- ACMe

Can The Skeleton Key (2005), Inside Man (2006) and Smokin' Aces (2006) be added to the queue as well. Cheers!

R. Chang

What channel?
