Suggesting the "Riddick" films, beginning with Pitch Black (2000)

30 Days of Night is a good horror movie to watch

Marko T.

I think this might be better than the first movie.

Marko T.

React to Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Kwisatz Haderach

I will always support the husband's decision to leave his wife. She foolishly let that kid in and then went after him while they were being chased. He had to try to live for their kids.

Mike FromOz

Recommending "He Never Died". It stars Henry Rollins (of punk band Black Flag, and his own band - Rollins Band) and is actually really good for a smaller indie kind of movie. A fun watch.

over capacity

i mean to be fair the moment that kid showed up and started banging on the door and shouting, they were doomed. the horde was already chasing the kid.

Odd Thomas

Seeing Harold Perrineau again reminds me you should watch Romeo & Juliet (1996) and The Edge (1997)

Odd Thomas

Yeah when people say fight or flight its literally an instinctual response. Your body starts running before you even think about it.

PIG

I saw this in theaters and can’t remember one damn thing lol I don’t think it lived up to the first one.

Ashton Lewis

I don't think she knew she could infect him. I'm not sure how she would have figured that out without biting someone before they brought here in. Also as you mentioned, her kids were there and she was strapped to a table in the same room with him. Also (haven't finished your reaction yet so this might have come up) the father is the guy from trainspotting who is the absolute worst... The violent guy you both didn't like

JokerDanny

You guys should react to The Walking Dead if you haven't already seen it

Odd Thomas

I think the infected got to France through the Channel Tunnel rather than the kid.

Jonas Buckner

it's called Romeo plus Juliet. In fact, on the poster, it's called "William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet."

Mark Alex Leach

Love Simone's face in the poster. Like watching a kitten try a roar. :)

John

How wild would it have been if this whole movie was just about a father coming to terms with what he had to do to survive and rebuilding a relationship with his children and then at the last 10 minutes all hell breaks loose leading to the 3rd film lmao

Ste Rawlings

The pizza thing makes sense George. I'm a huge lover of most styles of Italian pizza and don't like north american styles (apart from tavern style) and most of the stuff we get in the UK at all. They are like totally different dishes. Did you try Sicilian style? because I think that would be your best bet if you ever find yourself in Italy again.

Monica Alarcon

Heey, that's Harold Perrineau from From...

akaTheBARON Tokyo Drift

George gave his hot take about pizza (I agree with him on that one) that may get die-hards upset, so I'll share mine since it pertains to this movie franchise: I've never understood the 'These aren't zombies, they're infected" thing. They ARE zombies. Just a subcategory commonly referred to as "the infected." With the zombie genre getting thousands and thousands of movies, the genre has to be reinvented into subcategories at some point. So yes, they're still zombies, they're just not undead. But there are people who get viscerally angry when you call the infected variety "zombies." I do think it's better to refer to the infected as "the infected" so it paints a better picture of what the movie/tv show/book is, should you be describing it to someone not familiar. If you just say "zombies" they'll by default think slow and undead. But zombies can be something outside of the realm of what George A. Romero brought to the table as far a what zombies are. Whatever anyone's stance is, to each their own, I'm just saying it's not that serious tho LOL.

Grumblefunk

good flick but the shaky cam is extreme in this one

Brendan Rafferty

Beautiful looking film… but so stupid. ▪️early in the film, the medical staff say that one thing we know about the rage virus is that it didn’t manage to go cross species Ummm… didn’t the outbreak in 28 Days Later start from a monkey bite? Isn’t monkey to human infection cross species? ▪️the “Code Red” plan for response to an outbreak is not to have civilians lock themselves in their apartments, but to drag all the civilians from their homes and cram them all together in a giant room???? WTF? ▪️28 Days Later established that the infected do not come out in daylight… this movie completely ignores that ▪️they are infected… living people, not undead zombies… so why the hell do we see infected with whole sections of their torsos missing walking around?

Mastervodo

Yes. Even though in the movie it shows the Eiffel Tower because that screams "France" and the Channel Tunnel comes out 287km north of Paris. Gotta dumb things down a bit for the casual viewer!

Mastervodo

Simone - you should never start watching a Horror movie with a furbaby on your lap! Poor kitty NOPED the fuck out of there at the first jump scare!

REDR58

Yeah I don’t care how absurd a movie universe’s rules are as long as they are consistent.

REDR58

I gave up on TWD in the middle of the 3rd seasons. I was really into it for awhile but I eventually had enough of watching people brutalize each other.

FranciscoGios

Another Zombie movie I would like you guys to see is called Quarantine from 2008, it’s a remake of Rec 2007. But i prefer the 2008 one.

Drew

If alternative zombie types are still of interest, Robert Rodriquez’s “Planet Terror” is fun

Drew

I’m with you on this, yes they’re still alive, and yes they’re zombies. There is a whole zombie taxonomy of varying types: the Mysteriously Undead, the Supernaturally Undead, the Infected Undead, and the Infected Alive. And any combination thereafter And my personal favorite: Deadites of the Evil Dead franchise, Demonically Possessed Alive into Supernaturally Undead combo.

REDR58

I feel the way about the Avatar movies the way George feels about the Elden Ring game. It’s the kind of movie I should like, but the I find the visual design of the Na’vi so repellent and off-putting I had to bail out on the first movie.

Gary Fixler

I like to think the people who owned the rights, who were no longer taking to each other, were fighting over whether it should be "28 Weeks Later" or "28 Years Later," and the former finally said "Fine, we'll go with your idea."

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Yeah I'm thinking maybe those people aren't all talking to each other yet because I can't find 28 Days Later streaming anywhere, I wanted to buy it a few weeks ago but it wasn't available on any platform I know of. Hopefully they work that out because I really want to see the new one. In the meantime might I suggest another Danny Boyle / Alex Garland collaboration, The Beach with baby faced Leonardo Di Caprio and ageless faced Tilda Swinton. I hear it's not well liked by many but I think it's underrated. Edit: Oh shit it has a 21% rating on Rotten Tomatoes lol, guess I do have bad taste. Btw Robert Carlyle was the dad in 28 Weeks Later, he's also in The Beach, and he was Begbie in Trainspotting, maybe not as easy on the eyes as Cillian Murphy but a great actor.

Allen Pass

You're not wrong about not liking "authentic" Italian pizza. For me it's too watery and the flavors are not as concentrated compared to New York style pizza. New York pizza is about the balance between tangy low moisture mozzarella and tomato sauce while not having the pizza pie soggy. I'm a New Yorker at heart so I know where you're coming from George.

Jasbro

I dont think you understood that France being the next zone had nothing to do with Andy infecting people, the group of infected we saw breaking out with the dad went through the channel tunnel which links the UK to France. Also rewatching this brought up an interesting point that since they made a note of all the infected starved to death at the beginning of this one how would they still be around 28 years later and then Simone pointed out since the mom was special, so the dad was a new totally strain of the Rage virus and all those he infected can survive longer without food. Hopefully you guys watch World War Z at some point as well, its another entertaining take on the zombie/infected genre.

Max Krause

The infected also wouldn't have taken five weeks to die from starvation. They would have died much sooner from dehydration, since they ignore their bodies' needs and limits. One week tops from the last infection, seeing how they're exerting themselves without drinking.

Max Krause

I know you guys don't watch trailers so you can go into a movie completely blind, but I encourage you to watch the 28 Years Later trailer after you've watched the movie. It's a masterpiece of a trailer! It's so intriguing and unnerving, largely due to the incredible audio design, without telling you the story like so many modern trailers do. Maybe add it as a bonus at the end of the video?

Starman Deluxe

Rose Byrne did "Sunshine" the same year. So even though Danny Boyle didn't direct this, she was still filming a Danny Boyle movie around the same time.

howtocookazombie (Stan)

Just watched 28 years later... and I am either very confused or very high...

Deadly Ramon

Love the movie, just hate how one act of stupidity results in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. It was particularly difficult watching the newly infected guy murder his wife while she was restrained and completely unable to defend herself. She'd survived too much horror already to have deserved that fate.

Theo Bracco

You should come down to Argentina and try how real food tastes, our pizza is superior to US slop and Italian "original" recipes, and the rest is to die for.
