WOOOOOOOO. This is a fantastic surprise. Been looking for something to watch this afternoon so the timing is perfect. I know a lot of people thought there was a step down in season two, but I honestly might have enjoyed it even more than the first season. The side characters, overall, are a lot more interesting/fleshed out, IMO, and that really helps. Also: seeing the recruiter again reminds me, if you guys have not seen Train to Busan, could not recommend it more highly. He's the star of that one, and he's great in it. (Keeping the genre vague in case one or both of you are in the dark on what kind of movie it is.)

My only gripe of Season 2 was that it was only 7 episodes. And I liked the way the season ended.

If they haven't seen "I Saw The Devil", THAT would make an insane reaction. Lee Byung-hun (The Frontman) stars opposite Choi Min-sik, South Korea does Revenge films like no other and imo this is one of their best. Other reccommendations: Memories of Murder, A Bittersweet Life, Man From Nowhere and Mother.

In Season 1 they did vote to leave after the first game. 001 broke the tie and they all left. A majority of them decided to come back after returning to reality though. They also didn’t get to split the current prize and leave with money, they left with nothing. That is new to this Game.

yeah, it was written as one story and filmed all together. But Netflix being Netflix, wanting to get as much as possible out of it (knowing there won't be any more) asked Hwang Dong-hyuk to find a suitable break point in the story to divide it into 2 seasons.

In season 1, the players had the option to cancel the games at any time with a majority vote, however if they did then they would leave with nothing. This time there’s a mandatory vote after every round and they get to keep the accumulated money without completing the games should they choose to leave, that’s the difference. Also, the pig statue that dispenses cash was in Series 1 as well, they always had the cash above them as a reminder.
