I am all for the year 2025 where Simone shuffles a Magic deck, draws a card and reads it as the intro for all the movies. Must include flavor text.

Amar

Under the schedule post last Friday everyone was shocked that Simone had never seen the Proposal, Well she has seen it lol

attackthehole

for Chinese new years we got a kung fu movie that George has seen but not Simone, and for Valentines we get a rom-com that Simone has seen but not George!

Florian Geyer

I want to propose to watch The Substance :)

Monica Alarcon

Yay a Rom com! We need those from time to time...

mky

George, in your continuing storm dream, are you transported to a strange place, where you make new friends, and then "murder" a woman by dumping water on her? What kind of shoes are you wearing in this dream? ;)

Justin James

Would love to see you guys watch "The Graduate"

Pete Johansson

Ok. I guess i like romcoms. Who knew...

Monica Alarcon

Yes that's the coach from Blades of Glory and also the coach from Coach but to me he'll always be the dad from Poltergeist...

Maiki

"She looks like she's leading the Rebel Alliance" made my day, thanks George :)

Tay Schumaker

It is Pull-itzer not pew-litzer. The later is pretentious and wrong

Monica Alarcon

Brian Denehy (the guy she thinks is sexy) is the evil sheriff in First Blood and Tommy Boy's dad...

Monica Alarcon

"this universe's Kirk" I understood that reference!! Thanks Simone...

akaTheBARON Tokyo Drift

The Ryan Reynolds movie where he isn't doing his usual "Ryan Reynolds" thing, that you think may have been a horror is probably Amityville horror, the 2005 version. I've seen it, don't remember much, but if it was dogshit, I likely might have remembered. So I'd say its at least ok? I think I remember not hating it, but I only saw it the one time when it came out in theaters. I guess if others recommended it, it's probably decent.

Stephanie Bedworth

If you want to watch a movie where Samuel L Jackson isn't being Samuel L Jackson, then I highly recommend you guys check out The Red Violin. It's a drama from 1998 and a hell of a good movie.

Beetlejuice: "What we've got here tonight, KIDS? Close Encounters of the Third Kind? Vertigo? Paths of Glory? (checks notes) THE PROPOSAL?!!"

Lyle Morgan

I’m not a huge romcom guy but this one is pretty charming and fun.

D. T. Nelson

This has been in my top 5 favorite rom-coms ever since it came out. The actual term, which has been around for well over a century, is buck naked. 'Butt naked' probably started around the 70s or 80s from mishearing the correct term.

Tay Schumaker

Yeah the script and story of this one isn't the best, but they are both so charismatic and have great chemistry so it works

Jeb Manning

I've gotta recommend the 2005 comedy movie Waiting... also starring Ryan Reynolds as well as Anna Faris and Justin Long. The writer and director, Rob McKittrick, wrote the screenplay while working as a waiter. It's great stuff and really funny.

My worst boss was the store manager named Lizzie. For a period of four years, she allowed managers to cause me almost unbearably painful seizures. Last year I finally had a mental breakdown and got fired because I snapped and publicly shit talked her to a customer. I got the last laugh though. Two months after my firing, she got fired for criminal behavior. fired her and brought criminal charges against her to get their money back.

Shonnicus

Yes George, I agree! The trope that bothers me above all is they always have to be "rich". Every character is generally living best life with job, nice place in the city and access to whatever they want. Idk why Ryan Reynolds family has to be rich. So ummm. My guilty pleasure movie is a Ryan Reynold's movie; Definitely Maybe(2008).

Alexander Kirichenko

I watched this movie 3 times in my life, once in 2009 in Russia, in 2015 over at America, and the 3rd was with you. And I am telling you rn, go to youtube, look up behind the scenes skit and get ready to die! I never knew who Betty White was until i binged Golden Girls, and in the movies she plays a lot of people whose morals don't come together (like her part in "bringing down the house" with Queen Latifah and Steve Martin). And a point about the dad played by Craig T Nelson or Mr Incredible as you might know him.

djKENTO

thank christ this was on Hulu cuz I was not gonna spend money on it. Not even saying it’s bad or that I don’t like it. I just don’t ever rewatch rom coms, even the ones I like… except for About Time. That’s the one exception.

djKENTO

During this time Sandra Bullock was married to custom motorcycle maker and racist douche bag Jesse James who you may know from West Coast Choppers.

ted

I think a reaction to do sometime would be Lake Placid. A bit of a different tone than this movie of course but I think it's another great movie with Betty White.

FranciscoGios

I haven’t seen this one but it was a treat, thanks Simone & George. Another best acting Sandra Bullock’s films i like you guys to react to are CRASH 2004 🤧, Murder By Numbers 2002.

REDR58

First time watch for me. Lots of fun, I liked it more than I expected to. Dissolving golf balls do indeed exist for the very purposes that you see in the movie. And Simone was right, some have fish food in them! The movie was not filmed in Alaska, by the way, but in and around Rockport and Boston, Massachusetts. Supposedly one of the first instances of the "girlfriend in Canada" trope were, at least in US movies, first alluded to in The Breakfast Club and Weird Science, both from 1985 but the idea may be older than that and the screenwriters just used it in the movies. Sandra Bullock could be wearing a canvas sack and still look stunning!

Polecat21

favorite SB rom-com is Two Weeks Notice

Gary Fixler

The first run to the airport in a film was some time after 1903, when the airplane was invented. It was probably a bit later than that, too, because they also had to then invent airports.

Polecat21

George might like Arthur - (1981 Dudley Moore version only!)

IncredibleBulk

was trying to think of the ryan not being ryan film and only 3 come to mind: the voices (2014), but this is a dark comedy / horror. the captive (2014), the other is life (2017) which is sci-fi horror but hes not the main character if memory serves

SpankTheMonk

I am taking a wild guess but I think Casablanca might have been the first if not one of the first to have a run to the airport scene?

Christian Rennie

I hadn't seen this movie before and it was a lot of fun. This movie definitely reminds me of the move Green Card (1990) starring Gérard Depardieu and Andie MacDowell. I bet you can guess what it is about😉.

Logan Kerlee

First time watching this movie, I had a great time watching with you both! lmao, I already knew that I'd dig on the comedy between these two. I've been a Bullock fan since the 90's with Speed and Reynold's is pretty obvious with his roles. The story in this may've been super predictable but it was very fun! Good stuff! Happy that I watched this. :)
