It's Mike. It's totally Mike. Mike, if you're in here, it's totally you.

PIG

I don’t know what this means but I agree for some reason.

PIG

Saw this in the theaters in Miami and the crowd went crazy for it. They loved it. It was also my wife’s first experience with Toy Story and she loved it with no context. What a great series of movies.

Wrwemi

You should watch this video --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phFISjORzQs Some evil genius re-edited the movie so that the it ends with the furnace, and then showed it to his family, making them believe it really ended with all the toys dying.

D. T. Nelson

Yawning - I sometimes catch myself halfway through a yawn where I realize I haven't covered my mouth, and I'll slowly turn away from people as I raise my hand. I imagine the effect is something like Homer Simpson slowly backing up into the bushes. Mind going black at awkward times - I was on stage playing Van Helsing in a production of Dracula when my mind suddenly went blank. I not only couldn't remember my next line, I couldn't even remember what was supposed to be happening in the scene. And this wasn't a line where the other people on stage could improvise something to feed mea cue—the next words HAD to come from me. Not sure how long I stood there staring at my panic reflected in the other actor's eyes. All I could do was start my next blocking move. As I crossed from the stairs to the couch the line came to me, and I found a way to deliver it naturally. It was probably only about 10 seconds or so, but it felt SO much longer, and I nearly gave the director a heart attack.

Brandon

I'm loving the difference in thumbnails between this and the YT version. 😂

Mike FromOz

If you want to see an animated movie that did not care a hoot about its kid market and went straight dark, watch "Transformers: The Movie" (1986). It actually really holds up to this day, and the remastered version of it makes it look even cooler. Great story, soundtrack and voice acting.

Red Freckle

"Cut to Andy at chemo" lol George you should look up the Meatcanyon Toy Story animation on YouTube... it's pretty funny in a pretty fucked up way. I'm not sure if Simone would find it funny or just fucked up. ✌️ edit- the video is called "You Got a Friend in Me"

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Latinamerican version Buzz does practically the same, the accent changes to spaniards accent and is called romance mode. Is practically us making fun of spaniards.

RichieRich

Love this movie so much.

Monica Alarcon

Yeah I cried at work again... Lucky there were no patients at the time... But one of the doctors saw me... Anyways please do watch the fourth one

My name is Jeff

Tarantino Was right, this is a perfect trilogy, awesome end to a story and nobody should watch 4th one.

Awesome80s

When it came out, we were all burstin in tears in the cinema. And I recall hearing someone at the exit "There's no way they would put another one"

buddha bling

After 4 yall 100% have to watch Small Soldiers. Think of it like toy story for adults

Dragonhunter

I liked the 4th one. I also think it's worth it just to see the jump in animation quality.

Ginger

13:25 - Please get out of my head, George! :D I thought the exact same thing and I don't even know that song.

akaTheBARON

George's "It's one of Andy's mom's toys" joke reminded me of a parody of Toy Story MadTV did called "Sex Toy Story" and I looked it up. It's as bad as I remember LOL

Cincassette

Unrelated to this reaction, but it feels like it's been a while since we've had some pre-60s classics on the channel. I'd love to see some more Hitchcock, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, etc... ! - Rear Window (1954) - North by Northwest (1959) - Vertigo (1958) - The Philadelphia Story (1940) - Gaslight (1944)

Odd Thomas

Yeah 3 is my favourite too. 4 didn't need to exist but I did really enjoy it.

8bitAndy

"Andy, can't you see you're just not the boy for me"... story of my life.

James W.

It is so rare that a 3rd installment is this good but also reinforces why the previous are also amazing in their own right. I think Tarantino and his takes on film are sometime very myopic but he was 100% on it when he put it up there as a "perfect" film and placed Toy Story as one of the best trilogies every made. Nothing against 4, I hear it was great, but this was the end of Toy Story and I don't want to corrupt the feeling this gave me by watching 4. Great reaction. It made me laugh when George was saying how they would have had "kids" crying if the incinerator scene was had taken any character and then a few minutes later you see the waves of sentimentality and feeling washing over him while Simone is having a full cry while Andy is passing the toys on to Bonnie. To me this is right and proper reaction.

Divinerights

It was SUPPOSED to be the end of the franchise. But then someone said more so :/

Foggy

i was INCONSOLABLE after this movie 😭 my dad loves toy story so i had each one of these toys, and i was 17 when this movie came out. i went straight home from the theater and got my toys out and played with them. this is still my favorite of the four. can’t wait for the next one!

Max Krause

My parents are preparing to sell their house because my dad has more and more trouble with the stairs due to MS. Last week me and my sister were there and my mother brought out some boxes from the attic. It wasn't toys but books, but it was still a very emotional hour going through them. Those were the books I read and loved as a kid. Some of them I had completely forgotten, but seeing them again was so heartwarming! I have a three year old niece and a six moths old nephew, so the choice was between keeping the books for them or throwing them away. A lot were thrown away because they either weren't that great or were no longer politically defensible (80s an 90s were a different time), but we kept most of them. I don't know yet if my nephew will grow up to love knights as much as I did back then, but if he does he will read those books and I will be there for him to clear up the falsehoods those books taught me!

Mark Messer

This was so worth it. Perfect reaction! Tarantino is right I believe when he said that it’s the perfect trilogy. Other than something like LOTR of course. This was definitely intended to be the end. I think it was a newer Director, not part of the original team that came up with the idea for the fourth one. I don’t think it’s necessarily as good of an end. This one, I don’t think it right disgrace is the series like some people tend to think. I’m looking forward to seeing you guys for your own opinion on it. For me, it’s kind of like Shrek 3 and 4. I don’t mind watching it because it’s still entertaining. I just think it’s overall unnecessary.

Ricardo Alanis

My wife had an odd reaction to this. She did not get the emotion of letting go of her toys because growing up she was more into crafts than toys, meanwhile I’m here bawling my eyes out because toys were such a big part of my childhood. I cried when I left a Darth Vader action figure in a taxi on vacation. It was missing a hand and the head but it was still cherished.

Beddoe

Part 4 doesn't have the emotional punch of part 3 (in my opinion) but it's still a great film. Also, 'Beddoe' rhymes with 'meadow'.

REDR58

I am a VERY slow eater. I like to say that I eat so slowly that by the time I’m finished I’m hungry again. I find watching most other people eating rather revolting (except my partner, she is staggeringly refined and doesn’t chow down like a ravenous wolf). People just shoving food into their gobs just turns my stomach. But it’s not only that, just watching others eating in general grosses me out.

Dustin Lollar

I remember Kevin Smith calling this one “Schindler’s Toy Box” and it seems fitting.

FranciscoGios

Funny enough I’d never watch TS 3 and I went straight to watch TS 4, but I’m glad I watched this one the first time with you guys. ‘Latin Lover’ Buzz was definitely hilarious & fun

Monica Alarcon

I suggest you watch the Toy Story Shorts before Toy Story 4 as a bonus feature. They all take place between 3 and 4. They are; Hawaiian Vacation (2011), Small Fry (2011), Partysaurus Rex (2012) and Toy Story of Terror (2013)

REDR58

Wonderful reaction. Simone and George, you didn’t seem to notice that Michael Keaton was the voice of Ken! Ned Beatty played the bear Lotso. He was a character actor that was in loads of TV shows and movies. “Deliverance” (1972), “All the Presidents Men” (1976), and “Superman” (1978) and “Superman II” (1980) are probably some of his best known movies and are all well worth a watch. He was also in “Homicide Life on the Street” which is an excellent 1990s TV series based on the book “Homicide: A Year on the Killing Steets” by David Simon who was also the creator of “The Wire.” Slinky Dog’s voice was recast and performed by Blake Clark in this movie, replacing Jim Varney who died in 2000. Clark sounds so similar to Varney I was sure it was the same voice actor for a moment.

dys

Agreed, 4 is a good movie, it's just kind of "one more story" after the overall story had been so perfectly concluded here.

dys

I was one of those kids who grew up with this series and was in college when this came out, so yeah it felt like it was absolutely aimed at me and hit me in all the emotions.

droodly

I grow tired of crying during all your animated movie reactions. Let's have a "Sausage Party (2016)"! :P

Pendergasted

The Indian in the Cupboard was one of my favorites growing up. Came out just before the first Toy Story, I think. That one is live action but I think Toy Soldiers is probably a bit more popular than that one.

Matthew Abbott

Toy Story 4, as a film, is really pretty good. As a continuation of the story I think it’s wholly unnecessary. Toy Story 3 had such a perfect ending.

Jesse Coombs

Yeah this was a perfect movie as far as ending the trilogy. They made another one and yeah, it's decent, but it's unnecessary.

Jeb Manning

For Simone, Disneyland during certain parts of March can low wait times for rides.

MacGuffinStuff

Yeah I heard Tarantino really loved the first three, and I remember the first time I saw this one, it really is a perfect ending.

MacGuffinStuff

You got it Simone, rainy days are the best days at Disneyland, it's about the only time it's not choked with strollers constantly pulverizing your shins. My ex was a huge Disney Adult type (and I love Star Wars, and rides, and food), we had annual passes for both Disney and California Adventure for a few years, which was great because I was going to school in Irvine at the time so Disneyland was actually on my way home. She'd either meet me there or pick me up from school and we'd drop in for a couple hours, a few rides and a meal, or at least an overpriced coffee and chocolate muffin or whatever, maybe some margaritas at California Adventure.

Jeb Manning

Toy Story 4 by no means is not a bad movie. It just feels so unnecessary. However, I do recommend checking out the Toy Story TV specials first before Toy Story 4. They're a lot of fun and are set before the events of Toy Story 4.

MacGuffinStuff

I think the thing with Hamm knowing all this random stuff might be a reference to the voice actor John Ratzenberger's character Cliff on "Cheers". Cliff was a mailman and kind of a know it all, except he was wrong most if not all the time. Great character, funny, I feel like we all know that guy, and I try hard not to be that guy but ya know, the autism is strong sometimes lol, I do try to be accurate though, or offer a disclaimer like, "Okay so what I think I remember hearing someone say that they heard someone say, was...".

Jeb Manning

There's definitely some other Disney movies I'd love to see you two react to after you get done with the Toy Story series. Some of the best ones that would make for fun reactions like: -Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) -Pinocchio (1940) -Fantasia (1940) -Dumbo (1941) -Bambi (1942) -The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949) -Alice In Wonderland (1951) -Robin Hood (1973) -The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) -The Great Mouse Detective (1986) -Beauty and the Beast (1991) -Aladdin (1992) -The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)

MacGuffinStuff

Having trouble finding the link but it's a prank video where someone edited the ending to show his family (who have never seen the movie), so that right at the moment the toys join hands, as they're about to be cast into the maw of the incinerator, having accepted their fate... it cuts to the credits, right to the cheerful Randy Newman music, and that's it. So funny, I think you can hear someone say "Why would you show us this?!" It's so dark, sorry I think that so funny, I wouldn't do it, but I get. I blame the Army and a Mexican dad. Mexicans have a brutally dark sense of humor, someone said their uncle had an electric wheelchair, the family called him the Tesla, another guy had a lazy eye, the family calls him Ojos Locos (Crazy Eyes), lady named her daughter Ella Rose, her cousins call her El Arroz (The Rice).

howtocookazombie (Stan)

Fast eater, long shitter here too. I always hated it to go to restaurants together with people from work, because they ate for one or two hours with a lot of pauses, while I finished after a few minutes and I had to wait for everybody else. I prefer to eat alone. 😅

Zoltán Bublos

Now you understand why people got mad when the fourth movie made. TS3 is a PERFECT ending for the series.

Funny That

Given the subsequent allegations again John Lasseter (e.g., how he was over found of giving "intense" hugs and more) I've always wondered if Lots-o-Huggin was coincidence or an intentional critique. Could be just the product of my overly cynical mind, as I've never come across mention of it in any analysis or comments on Toy Story 3.

Terdell Ferguson

Holy F - this could be one of my most favorite reactions ever. Y'all nailed the feeling of this. I'm 52 and saw this one in theaters. There's a REASON grown men cried watching this. It was how we ALL felt. ALL. OF. US. Though I lean to CARS as my personal best PIxar film, I 1000000% loved this and it definitely was my own personal favorite of the Toy Story series.

Simone's Coconut Squire

I just noticed that the "action" sequence that begins this movie is a fleshed out and stylized version of Andy's playing at the beginning of the first movie, with Potato Head being "one eyed Bart", saying "Money money money", bringing out his attack dog with a forcefield, then Woody calling on his dinosaur that eats forcefield dogs.

Turnt SNACO

You're not wrong that it's connected, but I think the implication was that he tends to play out a lot of the same "storylines" and the toys always embody specific characters in Andy's mind.

Turnt SNACO

George - someone else said it but I want to make sure you see it: years back there was a YouTube video where someone edited the end of this movie so that it faded to black and the end credits when all the toys were heading toward their doom in the incinerator. He showed it to his mom who had never seen the movie and recorded her reaction and discussed it with her afterward. She was absolutely appalled that it would end that way. They let her think it ended like that for a week or two, before someone finally struck a conversation with her about it and they're like "What do you mean? The toys didn't die..." And she's like "Yeah they did....I saw it!!" Then they finally revealed they changed it. It's one of the best pranks I've ever seen.

Brendan Rafferty

An cool thing to know about the 15 year span between the first Toy Story film and Toy Story 3 is that there was a huge turnout in the theaters of young adults who had grown up on Toy Story as children… an adult audience that had very personal emotional reactions to the story of moving on… a lot of young twenty somethings sharing this visceral experience in the theaters

Guillaume Huet_rennibou

It has been known for decades that people yawning will often make you yawn when you have a decent level of natural empathy (and in the right context). It's due to "mirror neurons" that make you unconscientiously put yourself in the shoes of the person you interact with

Jonas Buckner

Quintin Tarantino said recently that this is one of his favorite movies.

Amelie W

I don't know about Disneyland specifically but apparently theme parks in the US empty when Superbowl is on TV. Find the right confluence of sporting events and rain and you can probably have the rides all to yourself. I can't believe they put the monkey from the Stephen King short story The Monkey in a daycare with kids.

David Lonewolf Wright

This was a first date for me and one of my girlfriends, I think the visible tears during the almost end sequence and then the very end sealed the deal for me. I saw the trailers for Toy Story 4 and even though it brings a character back, I felt 3 was just a perfect end and I didn't need to go any further.

Raven Dark

This is my favorite movie out of all the TS films, and Lotso is one of the reasons why. I love an well-written villain, and he's exceptionally well done. Oh, and Spanish Buzz is such a delight. George, every time I think about the way you said, "El Buzzo," it makes me chuckle. Great reaction. I hope the fifth one is really great so we'll get to see you react to 4 and 5.
