I know it's technically Easter for some, but this is a great way to celebrate! I hope you watch the one Jordan Peele produced.

Mike FromOz

"Who can take a sunrise..."

JC

Now that you've been introduced to Clive Barker, it's time for Hellraiser!

Dwight Scarn

When i was a kid the first trailers came out and it scared the crap out of me. I was afraid to go into bathrooms at night.

Phil Robinson

So happy you've finally got to watch this masterpiece.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

I know a guy who's tough but sweet He's so fine, he can't be beat He's got everything that I desire Sets the summer sun on fire I want candy I want candy

Emptysea93

Please now watch more of Clive Barker’s masterpieces, particularly Hellraiser. I think you will both enjoy the mix of gothic horror and seduction that is common to his works.

rictus grin

love the Philip Glass soundtrack his work also features in the art house movie Koyaanisqatsi and Mishima A life in four chapters

rictus grin

they odd look in Helen's eye's was achieved by hypnotizing the actress

Stugotz

Hey Simone, what sound do baby chicks make? Simone: 11:27

rictus grin

for me this is an art house horror film

Galactic Cannibl

Bob Ross is probably the first ASMR with the whispering and the scraping on the canvas 😆

Jeb Manning

Since you've done Candyman, you've got to do Hellraiser. It's the best adaptation of a Clive Barker story. Incredibly unnerving, uncomfortable, and at times, deeply sexual in the worst of ways. It would be an amazing reaction.

Jeb Manning

There are definitely some other horror movies I'd love to see you guys react to later this year: -The Phantom of the Opera (1925) -Dracula (1931) -Frankenstein (1931) -The Mummy (1932) -Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) -The Wolf Man (1941) -Night of the Living Dead (1968) -Creepshow (1982) -The Return of the Living Dead (1985) -Re-Animator (1985) -Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

Frank from Vegas

If we're talking horror, you really should make sure that Peter Jackson's (yes that Peter Jackson) Braindead (aka Dead Alive) (1992) pops up at some point.

Dirge Girl

Tie in: Tony Todd co-stars in the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead... directed by Tom Savini.

Jeb Manning

That would be a good one too but I think the original should be seen first since it's important to the backstory of Return of the Living Dead.

Dan Holmes

Yeah... just a little bit more of a Masterpiece than Scooby-Doo 😅 #shouldawonthatpoll lololol

Matt O'Keefe

The young boy's castration has stayed with me for years, including him calling out for his mommy.

Dirge Girl

Agreed. Double-feature? Do 'em back-to-back, like the Nosferatu reaction? lol

CJGardner

Shoot! I wish you'd come across this piece of trivia at the end - Yes they were real bees and Tony only agreed to work with them for $1,000 per sting. He made $23,000.

Jeb Manning

Honestly, exactly what I'm thinking. The original Night of the Living Dead and then Return of the Living Dead.

Simon Pegged Me

"...cover it in chocolate and a disembowelment or two.?"

Ari Ramirez

Yo that was a surprisingly spot-on Candyman impression, George, well done

CJGardner

Ah, good to know, thx.

Chase Lonnergan

Candyman is another example of how good Clive Barker stories can be made as movies when the director GETS IT!

Angela D. Mitchell

The Candyman/Helen relationship IS really weirdly hot, Simone, you're not imagining things! Hey, and that VOICE? Tony Todd could get it. I love the way the movie openly addresses the racism in everything from the real estate -- one building was a "palace," one building was a project slum. Helen, a white woman, is saved from danger in Cabrini Green while a black woman and her child were killed because police wouldn't come when she called. I've loved Virginia Madsen since I was an actual teenager -- she's just so beautiful and underrated, so I love that this has become a horror classic. She's a wonderful actress and has always been so underrated. It was great to see Kasi Lemmons here as her best friend, because she's a wonderful actress (Silence of the Lambs) and became a great director herself who is very outspoken for women in film, especially women of color. The guy who plays Helen's worthless husband (wonderful actor Xander Berkeley) was also the doctor in Gattaca who has that great moment with Vincent at the end. The female cop who oversees Helen in the jail is played by Virginia Madsen's longtime best friend, character actress Rusty Schwimmer (who is a wonderful actress who was in stuff like The Perfect Storm, A Little Princess, many more). The score is so beautiful and was by celebrated composer Philip Glass. It's so wonderful -- synthesizers, pianos, symphonies, choruses -- great score. (And his gorgeous "Anthem" from Powaqqatsi is most famous for the "Truman Show" scene where Truman begins to realize he controls his world and stops traffic, etc.) And GEORGE, please never say the word "moist" again! No one should ever say that word. LOL.

Moonbean

Watching this reaction and I'm loving it, but I had to stop and comment on the asmr kitty purrs in the mic. I loved it, it was so cute!

Todd Warring

Still not sure what movie you’re referring to here. Could be either Candyman or Willy Wonka

Todd Warring

The 2021 movie is actually another sequel not a remake. It is the best of the sequels but thats not saying much. And Tony is in it for about 5 seconds. Tony Todd starred in the Night of the Living Dead remake two years before this. It was written by Romero and he chose Tom Savini to direct it and the money is just as good as the original.
