PeppermintWizardOfAus

I had this idea and I don’t know if you’d do it but if you guys got to watching sequels to movies that you’ve lost the original reaction footage to, e.g The Matrix or Kingsman, would you possibly do a rewatch of them like you did for Logan? If for nothing than to have at least a watch along version for those movies. And since it’s been a few years since you’ve watched them it’d be a nice refresher, schedule allowing of course.

Tim Hibbard

Well F me with a chainsaw… Heathers!!!

Carl Noraas

Always be closing on Glengarry, guys!

Jeff K.

I need to see Simone's reaction to a certain saxophone player in a certain '80s vampire movie, y'all.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

The Lost Boys is really fun. Though Pesci yelling in the headphones is also great. Either way some good viewing to be had whatever wins 👊

Dragonhunter

Some suggestions for future series polls. Nathan for you (20 minute episodes) The Rehearsal (30 minute episodes) Both fun shows with Nathan Fielder if you want something to laugh. He is Canadian and graduated from one of Canada's top business schools with really good grades.

Wally Hartshorn

Heathers has far too few reactions. Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, and a rather unique take on teen angst.

David Strait

Suggestions Streets of fire The outsiders The original Red dawn

Fraser S

the more scorsese the better! come on casino!

Brent bmc_comix

Also a suggestion, Little Shop of Horrors 1986, (Director's cut)!!! :)

dudewheresmycar

Great movie but it is a musical which means a much higher chance of a copyright strike.

Jacob King

Heathers is the rare 80s cult movie that transcends nostalgia. A true classic. It’s both mean and beautiful. Also, The Waterboy!

Galactic Cannibl

There's always really great suggestions each week we add to wishlist for viewing and here are my top 5 this week: Kingpin (1996) Kingpin (1996) Kingpin (1996) Kingpin (1996) Kingpin (1996) Have a nice day!

Random Nevermind

Two 80s movies. Please. For the next poll: The Dead Zone Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

paul rai

In honor of James Foley’s tragic passing last week, I do hope you guys get around to Glengarry Glen Ross (he directed the film). Such an incredible array of actors working on the top of their game. And a great adaptation of a whip-smart hilarious stage play.

paul rai

We gotta get them watching more Scorsese! Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Aviator, The Irishman, Killers of the Flower Moon!

Ian Hunt

Absolutely here for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!

Fraser S

Add Mean Streets and After Hours to that list too

paul rai

“A-I-D-A. Attention, Interest, Decision, Action. Attention: Do I have your attention? Interest: Are you interested? I know you are, 'cause it's fuck or walk. You close or you hit the bricks. Decision: Have you made your decision for Christ? And Action. A-I-D-A.”

jmundt33a

Oscar, Noises Off, Run, Encino Man, The Three Musketeers. Overnight Delivery, Meet Joe Black. Loverboy, Weird Science, The Dead Zone is a good one. The original Firestarter. All of Me is really good Steve Martin. Dick Tracy is an interesting comic book movie artifact.

Raymond DeGraw

Love watching along with your reactions... Looking forward to seeing these in the future... 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. R.E.D. 3. Falling Down 4. Secondhand Lions 5. Weird Science

jmundt33a

Director’s cut ending is the La La Land of horror comedy. In all the worst senses.

theycallmekev

So underrated, probs the best written film on the list!

Simone's Coconut Squire

Drat. Glengarry Glen Ross is one of my favorite movies of all time (And Glengarry is all one word, it’s not two guys names) Also bonus trivia: this movie held the record for cursing in a movie for a while. It may still I’m not sure.

Bruce Liddle

Heathers is superb. On that note i'd add another Christian Slater one that's usually looked over. Pump Up The Volume (1990)

theycallmekev

“Mama says that alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.”

Robert Cooper

**looks around** I am disappointed in all y'all.

Brent bmc_comix

Director's cut is the way to go, truest ending, faithful to the stage production, amazing effects, and includes one of the best songs! (Also I personally feel people should watch both Director's then Theatrical, but if I can only pick one!) ;)

Logan Nelson

Let's get Matilda on a poll... Such a wholesome movie...

Sören Höglund

I imagine editing Streets of Fire to pass copyright claims would be tricky, but man do I love that movie.

Brent bmc_comix

Love Pump Up the Volume!!! Coincidentally, isn't Ellen Greene also in that as the teacher? Lol

FrancescoTakesItEasy

I voted for Lost Boys and Rambo II - fun times all around. Heathers would also be great, had I not just broke in my 4K disc this past weekend. But if it wins I'll save it for next year.

jmundt33a

Second on 1 and 5. Also She’s Out of My League.

jmundt33a

Dead Zone which has felt particularly relevant for the last decade.

jmundt33a

The Outsiders is on that interrogation shelf with Freddie Got Fingered. So many talented people before they knew what the hell they were doing.

Michael Nemo

Glengarry Glen Ross is THE superior movie to all on this list. How Waterboy is above it shows the middle school demographic here I think.

jmundt33a

And yet I stand by my assertion. It remains true. If I had had to sit through that stage production ending that way, I can see myself walking down the street like Ishmael, methodically knocking people’s hats off just as a pressure release.

UNC

Casino let’s gooo!

Nabikon

Dracula only because it's '92 Keanu and I wanna add '93 Keanu (sort of) in the form of 'Freaked'

The Gunslinger

Bram Stokers Dracula is a must watch! To say that Gary Oldman is incredible would be an understatement.

Angzarr

Always… Be… Cinebinging!

Nabikon

Absolutely! Danny Devito is an American treasure and a saint!

Stately, Plump Buck Mulligan

Yeah, Glengarry Glen Ross losing to The Waterboy by more than a factor of two is just a travesty. It's actually a little depressing.

Brent bmc_comix

That's fair... still director's cut! ;) (*grips hat on head lol)

John

I also second recommendations of Count of Monte Cristo, RED, and Weird Science

Michael M.

Some heavy hitters on that list

Rokkor X

I’m 37 and have much more affinity for Waterboy than GGR. I love a good serious adult movie. But you can’t be surprised that a hit movie like Waterboy that has become so quotable over the years is above a more mature movie that didn’t have a wider audience.

Rokkor X

I thought they’d seen Casino. Oh boy. I hope it wins just so I can get mad at a certain character over and over again.

Brent bmc_comix

Holding out hope for Heathers!!! (Insert funny quote from movie/musical) :)

4NonsenseD

Consider for the future: The Birdcage

Jeff K.

I typically just really don't like farce, but The Birdcage is absolutely an exception because it's executed so flawlessly, with brilliant performances all the way around.

Jeff Norwood-Brown

The lost boys is actually rather good in my opinion (great soundtrack and the kids are played a little tongue in cheek - which really helps). Not as good as Near Dark but was far more popular.

jmundt33a

One of my favorite books, and I love the performances.

jmundt33a

There should also be a Blake Edwards section. Particularly for Victor/Victoria and Blind Date.

JoeE

I would add kingpin to the list

FWPJR.

It’s great seeing The Water Boy on here, plus I’m glad to see Casino on here too. So hopefully one of those two win when it’s all said and done. If they don’t then I know you two will watch them someday in the future, so whatever movie wins this I hope everyone has fun watching the reaction✌🏻

ColeVonCole

Glengarry Glen Ross is the devil!

Nabikon

We must raise Freaked awareness

JoeE

Would also recommend millers crossing, to live and die in la, ed wood, talented Mr ripley

Ben Stevens

I have consistently picked the #2 and/or #3 movies in every poll for the last 4 weeks. I guess I need to stay subscribed so I have a chance at picking a winner at least once!

FWPJR.

And please do The Wedding Singer sometime soon, I need to see you two react to it. It’s top 5 in my Sandler movie list, it’s just a fantastic movie. Plus I’d like to suggest A Bronx Tale, it’s a must watch ( imo )

Gaius Frakking Baltar

I never understood why the sequel to First Blood wasn't simply titled "Second Blood" 🤔

Scotty Scott

Warning - Casino has a TON of music in it. It'll be an editing nightmare.

Jay

That fucking voice Sandler puts on in The Waterboy...... I don't know how people can even watch that film, let alone find it funny. Glengarry was on another poll and came last, but the fact it's reappearing is a good sign.

Jay

And George would know where Gil from The Simpsons came from:)

ColeVonCole

The Waterboy is my favorite movie ever.....tied with two other Sandler films. Grew up watching them all the time and have always loved them

Warmachine1228

I'm surprised more people haven't made a push for The Long Kiss Goodnight. Samuel L Jackson said repeatedly that his role was his favorite character he ever played.

Astraeos

Oof, at least three of those are absolute must watches. The Lost Boys, Bram Stokers Dracula, and Casino. Like oh man, I could write like a page on each of those movies. My personal vote is Casino, though I'm probably a bit bias because I'm about to do an odyssey of a drive out to Vegas along Route 66. The Waterboy is great too, it's just hard for me to rank just another Sandler comedy among some of the classics of all time in cinema.

Jeb Manning

This is a pretty good list. However, there are some other 80s movies I think would make for a fun reaction: -Time Bandits (1981) -The Dark Crystal (1982) -The Last Unicorn (1982) -The Secret of NIMH (1982) -The Return of the Living Dead (1985) -Re-Animator (1985) -Brazil (1985) -Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) -From Beyond (1986) -An American Tail (1986) -Hellraiser (1987) -The Monster Squad (1987) -Ernest Goes to Camp (1987) -The Brave Little Toaster (1987) -Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) -The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) -The Land Before Time (1988) -All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) -The Fisher King (1991) -The Hard Way (1991) -Dead Alive (1992) -Aladdin (1992)

Vengeance

Doesn’t fit this poll, but tossing a recommendation out for American Gangster (2007). Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. Based on a true story. Great crime drama.

jmundt33a

Fallen works for this category.

jmundt33a

This is entertaining.

Paul Mix

IMO, Glengarry is still unmatched in its combination of enormously-talented actors with juicy, scene-chewing dialogue.

Paul Mix

+1 on Falling Down!

Big Bang

you guys need to watch The Croods (2013)

Haye Zeus

Good poll. Almost picked everything this time

Paul Mix

Another + for the Dead Zone.

Jay

I don't hate Sandler. I like some of his comedies (Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore) and I love him in Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems. But when he's bad, it's really bad.

Jay

Fair enough, I'm curious what the other 2 are:)

Paul Mix

Heathers was a near-perfect encapsulation of the late-80's Gen-X high school zeitgeist.

Jimmy Olofsson

Some good options on here, went with Lost Boys

jmundt33a

Wedding Singer is Sandler’s most fun. Same way Liar Liar is for Jim Carrey. For me. I would say best or funniest because I believe those too.. but this seemed the safest assertion.

Sean Barbante

The good thing about Cinebinge is that they usually do the #2 pick not much longer after the top pick.

DM DC

I know it's 3rd right now, but I'm hopin The Lost Boys will pull ahead. If they ever do get around to watching this, I'd say go in completely blind. Don't look at cast, poster, nothin! Just push play and enjoy!

Jay Dee

Lost Boys is one of my all-time favorite movies. Criminally underrated soundtrack as well. If it doesn't win this poll, give it a go in the future.

Vengeance

Well folks, Mama’s wrong again!

maikeru

in other countries it was called Rambo, Rambo II, Rambo III..

Monica Alarcon

You already watched Rambo first Blood part II

mpd

Didn't they watch Rambo First Blood P2 already? They did a video with Diegesis about it

Cinebinge

oh shit you are correct! brain fart moment and we forgot about the movie and the whole Diegesis thing 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️ no body vote for that! thank you for reminding us!

Cinebinge

oh shit you are correct! brain fart moment and we forgot about the movie and the whole Diegesis thing 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️ no body vote for that! thank you for reminding us!

Joe Concepts

I voted for Glen Garry Glen Ross because I don't think I've ever seen a reaction for that one.

Cinebinge

Hey folks please disregard Rambo Part 2 in the poll and dont vote for it. We had a brain fart and forgot we already did that with DIegesis ages ago, thanks for those that reminded us!

Cinebinge

Hey folks please disregard Rambo Part 2 in the poll and dont vote for it. We had a brain fart and forgot we already did that with DIegesis ages ago, thanks for those that reminded us!

Cinebinge

Hey folks please disregard Rambo Part 2 in the poll and dont vote for it. We had a brain fart and forgot we already did that with DIegesis ages ago, thanks for those that reminded us!

Matthew Johnson

More people should be voting for Bram Stokers Dracula, the most a movie has ever mosted

Cinebinge

Hey folks please disregard Rambo Part 2 in the poll and dont vote for it. We had a brain fart and forgot we already did that with DIegesis ages ago, thanks for those that reminded us!

MDvortex

Go Adam s! Next time plz Mr. Deeds(2002) in the poll thx.

theLandofLiz

I’m so sad there’s not enough love for Heathers 🥀

Simon Clifton

“Hey, which of these 6 films should we watch?” “Yes”

PG Modehouse

GGGR is a good movie, but it's a shame that toxic sales and finance bros have embraced it as some sort of ideal.

Brent bmc_comix

Everyone who voted for Rambo, QUICK switch to Heathers!!! Lol ;)

Da Big Appa

Fallen is an amazing movie that a lot of people seem to miss.

Maiki

Wow, somehow never even heard of Fallen. What a cast. Thanks, right on the watchlist.

ColeVonCole

Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison

maikeru

don‘t worry, george is a pro

Farbod

Simone would love Heathers so much. What a shame.

Tom Hess

Can I nominate a couple of films for a future 80's/90's poll? - Waterworld (1995) with Kevin Costner. Adventure / Sci-fi, good Hollywood popcorn. - Hook (1991) by Steven Spielberg with Robin Williams. Too often overlooked, IMO. Note: you need to be somewhat familiar with the story of Peter Pan to get this film.

p0sthum4n

Momma says patreons is ornery cuz they got all them poll choices but no poll winners

Siel sielll

lost boys not gonna win but damn you guys need to do that movie😭

Vengeance

Just recently saw Fallen. Great choice as well.

Seahag

Happy Waterboy is doing well, but definitely need Heathers eventually. Such a fun dark comedy.

Ben Stevens

Well I may have to amend my statement if Waterboy wins! C'mon Waterboy YOU CAN DO IT

G P

Dracula is my favourite, but Casino and Lost Boys are also excellent

Phillyman!!

Oh hell yes tie ballgame so far 🔥

James Falato

Totally Eclectic Poll... Good Stuff...

J.R.

Glengarry glen ross thursday movie manifestation begins now

J.R.

yeah its mind boggling but at this point it's to be expected with these polls, Thursdays seem the best day for great movies that for some reason struggle on the polls

Uriah

One day…

Shonnicus

Wait I thought they watched Rambo. In Hot Shots part Deux, Simone reference Rambo in one scene? Edit: I read Blue Post, so ignore this comment

Shonnicus

I do love that they generally watch a lot of Horror not during Halloween, where some reactors lean so much into Horror as a theme, it gets tiring. Simone and George will fire up a horror film in May.

Ciarra Jade

Ohhh its casino... I hope you guys react to it win or lose

John

I second Fallen, American Gangster and add other Denzel movies, Malcolm X, Glory, Crimson Tide, Mo better blues, Inside Man, and pending a ridiculous change in form Highest to Lowest

John

It’s a great movie, I second the recommendation, there were more recommendations for it around December as it’s a Christmas and NYE movies

Cam

How the fuck is The Waterboy winning… 🤢

John

Kingpin is definitely worth a watch

Snuggelbum

Lol I'm asking myself that question also 😂 like most Adam Sandler movies, it's just garbage cinema for anyone older than 13 😅

Bruce Liddle

Fallen is superb. ALways overlooked though. Me sad.

CD

This poll makes me weep

CD

Our contingent is small but vocal!

Kelly Pickard

I love Hook, and I'd love to see them react to it. Such a classic.

Matthew Blackwood

Every poll lately is like “Guys a lot of you are suggesting we watch After Hours. Should we do that or Paul Blart Mall Cop? (new only to George)”

Matrim

I wonder if Waterboy is winning because it’s actually that popular, or if the others are splitting the vote more.

Stephanie Bedworth

I could have sworn they'd already done The Wedding Singer but I guess it was 50 First Dates that they watched.

Stephanie Bedworth

No, no, we need to get them to '89 Keanu and have them watch Parenthood.

Vengeance

Hook was a favorite as a kid. I watched that movie so many times I basically had it memorized.

Jeff I.

I'm just saying, there is a reason Casino got four stars from Robert Ebert, while The Lost Boys got two and a half stars. It's not a terrible movie, but it's no Casino.

sarCC

I guess the easiest explanation is that it's a popular comedy. Heathers is without a doubt, far and away the funnier and smarter comedy, but it's nowhere near as widely seen as any Adam Sandler comedy.

robodong

adam sandler is apparently the most watched actor on netflix, like by multiple folds compare to second place. i think it really is just because most people in their 30s and 40s grew up watching his movies so theres comfort and nostalgia there.

CarolynK

Heathers please. 🙏🏻

Darth Millennial

Cmon everybody change your vote to LOST BOYS

nigel Macbug

Oh no! with lost boys losing, simone will miss out on the saxy beefcake

Kron0n

Anything but The Waterboy… but mainly Lost Boys or Dracula <3

Brandon Meng

so happy to see waterboy leading the way... going to be pure joy watching that reaction weekly recs/favorite movies unseen on this channel: Perks of Being a Wallflower (when's the last time you did a coming of age movie) Manchester by the Sea (perfect depressing pairing with Million Dollar Baby, also acting performance of a generation) Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Simone has seen it but I think George's reaction would be A++++) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (best actress oscar award winner) Sideways (best comedy/screenplay/director/actor/supporting actress/supporting actor/musical or score golden globe winner 2005) alright off my soapbox

michael murray

Not sure why i've gone for a food based analogy, but bear with me (discounting Rambo based on Cinebinges comments - it was included by mistake). It's like a group of friends voting on which restaurant to go to. The options are - -A couple of outstanding Michelin starred restaurants -A place that's somehow not that well known these days, but everyone that has ever been absolutely raves about it -Somewhere that was super exciting and unique when you were young, maybe aware that nostalgia plays a big part, but it's still pretty awesome -A spot that has some amazing people involved, but you haven't been for decades and remember some oddness/disappointment, but definitely would go back to check it out -McDonalds And McDonalds is winning

Rokkor X

Calling Waterboy McDonalds is unnecessary. People love to discount comedies. From some high horse. It’s a movie. All of them are movies. Some of us can appreciate Casino AND Waterboy. It’s ok to laugh and it’s okay to sit through longer serious movies. I don’t get why people complain on here. It’s a poll. Not an awards ballot. Popular movies are gonna win popularity polls. Some polls don’t have anything I have seen and so I abstain from them. If my vote doesn’t win I just wait until the next one.

Rokkor X

I’m 37 and I love it. Being from the south I love seeing us made fun of. It’s just a good time. Cathy Bates nailed her role in it. And Henry Wrinkler is always a pleasure. The late great Jerry Reed plays a great cartoon villain. But I voted for Casino. I also don’t feel the need to denigrate people for which movie they prefer to see.

Rokkor X

Same. Lone Wolf McQuade is my favorite.

Mikebdrx

If WaterBoy wins I want to say before hand that here in Louisiana , YES WE TALK LIKE THAT AND NO WE DONT TALK LIKE THAT I hope that clears things up a bit.

Jay

Sorry Rokkor, but it's Adam Sandler playing someone with a mental disability for laughs. I'd say McDonalds is generous in this food analogy:) Nothing wrong with fast food movies btw, but I despise The Waterboy

michael murray

Ok, so i hoped my comment wouldn't be taken too insultingly, but honestly i can see why it was. It definitely wasn't me discounting comedies. I love comedies. But i think this does touch on an important point; Comedy can be massively more divisive than most other genres - I voted for Heathers and Glengarry, but would happily watch any of the others, minus Sandler. There's something about comedy that seems way more annoying if you don't like that particular style that doesn't seem to apply to other genres. For example, when Pitch Black won recently i was surprised; i saw it when it came out, thought it was alright but never thought of it again and was surprised it had that much support. But I wasn't particularly annoyed about it winning, i watched the youtube edit, but it didn't change my opinion - it was an ok film that others like and that's fine. But there's something about comedy whereby if it doesn't work for you then it really doesn't work. Not sure what the solution is, but i dread the day a Tom Green film beats literally anything else :)

robodong

is it actually every time though? or is it selective memory focusing on the times it didnt go the way you wanted. i mean last week Red Dragon won in a poll where Little Nicky, the other adam sandler movie, barely got 5th place. Before that we got Rear Window winning against History of the World.

robodong

did you forget that they do 3 movies a week and 2 of them are almost always different genre than the poll winner?

maikeru

Uncle Buck (1989)

robodong

i mean i dont doubt it feels that way. but also keep in mind there is 2 other movies each week and S&G does a pretty good job at making sure the other 2 are of completely different genres. like at the end of the day, its just movies. 1 of 3 movies and 1 of 5 posts each week. it really shouldnt be serious enough to cause frustration or anger ya'know? its not like its an election or anything remotely meaningful as to have an impact on anyones life lol

Nico Colaleo

Heathers is #3 on my top 3 movies EVER MADE. Hope you watch it!

robodong

also dont forget how often they've reminded everyone that just because a movie didnt win, it doesnt mean it will never get watched. just watched slightly later. ill add to it also that the poll isnt even stating anything like which is the best, its literally a scheduling tool. with casino coming so close, they will likely do it within days of eachother. youve been here for 3 years, that should be pretty obvious

robodong

people, lets not forget how often S&G reminded everyone that just because a movie didnt win, it doesnt mean it will never get watched. just watched slightly later. ill add to it also that the poll isnt even stating anything like which is the best, its literally a scheduling tool. with casino coming so close, they will likely do it within days of eachother. like at the end of the day, its just movies. 1 of 3 movies and 1 of 5 posts each week. it really shouldnt be serious enough to cause frustration or anger.

robodong

ya'll need to remember how often S&G reminded everyone that just because a movie didnt win, it doesnt mean it will never get watched. just watched slightly later. ill add to it also that the poll isnt even stating anything like which is the best, its literally a scheduling tool. with casino coming so close, they will likely do it within days of eachother. like at the end of the day, its just movies. 1 of 3 movies and 1 of 5 posts each week. it really shouldnt be serious enough to cause frustration or anger.

Jesse Coombs

Oh wow, I'm excited about 5 of these! My chances of a good time are pretty good.

Roddrick Smith

I voted for Dracula even though I have no shot. Anything but Waterboy which is currently in the lead. Everyone will have a good time watching either way.

Kelly Pickard

Waterboy is pretty much the ONLY entry on this list I'd just as soon not see a reaction to. XD Oh well, c'est la vie. I do hope that Glen Garry Glen Ross gets a viewing one of these days. I don't know how well it's known nowadays, and it certainly isn't the popcorn fare that Waterboy and others like it tend to be, but it's SUCH a good drama. And not just because of the iconic opening monologue by Alec Baldwin—the whole cast of characters is exceptional.

E G

Water boy being on the list reminded me to suggest uncut diamonds, it's another one of those movies with a comedy actor doing a very serious role.

Kevin

I wish the option was Big Daddy instead of Waterboy

Amphigory

The ABC scene is still referenced on sales teams to this day lol

jmundt33a

They recently did Million Dollar Baby.

jmundt33a

Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Maggie Smith, Bob Hoskins, Charlie Korsmo, Dante Basco, Julia Roberts

Max Carter

Casino is so damn good, it's maybe a little on the long side but still carries great energy throughout Glen Garry Glen Ross is also a fantastic film but will never win this poll especially with the Sandler obsession

Adrian Louis

How about adding Red Dawn to a poll?

YukoValis

You really should treat yourself to Terrifier 2. After the first one did so well they were able to ramp up production and make it something even more crazy.

droodly

DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I voted for rambo 2 just to spite you... :P

Brandon Meng

yes, it was not a suggestion, rather a complement to a suggestion and the line spacing made it look like its own thing

maikeru

Maybe many haven‘t watched it 🤷‍♂️

Some Guy Some Where

I can't wait for you to watch Being John Malkovich. I was hoping it would be on here. That and then Adaptation.

Wormtongue

After Waterboy wins... let's get a The Wedding Singer reaction.

Stephanie Bedworth

As far as Christian Slater goes, I always kind of loved Untamed Heart.

Dirge Girl

Yo'. • Airheads (1994) [Comedy] - Sandler, Fraser, Buscemi. • Dragnet (1987) [Comedy] - Aykroyd, Hanks, Plummer. • The 'Burbs (1989) [Comedy] - Hanks, Dern, Fisher. • So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993) [Comedy] - Myers, Travis, LaPaglia. • Gremlins 2 (1990) [Comedy] - Galligan, Cates, Mandel. • Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) [Comedy] - Cusack(s), Driver, Aykroyd. • Canadian Bacon (1995) [Comedy] - Candy, Alda, Perlman. Cheers!

Warmachine1228

Almost nobody recommends Get Shorty and I don't know why. It's really fun.

jmundt33a

Grosse Pointe Blank. Absolutely. The Burbs is kinda all over the place. I like The Man With One Red Shoe.

jmundt33a

Get Shorty is one of the two best big screen Leonard adaptations. Out of Sight is awesome. Twins and Stakeout are fun. The Pelican Brief, The Firm, The Client, and A Time to Kill are all excellent. Last of the Mohicans is solid. Diggstown is a kooky caper flick. I’d choose An Officer and a Gentleman to introduce Louis Gossett Jr, but this is interesting.

Young Blood Priest

I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone react to Out of Sight and I don’t know why. It’s entertaining as hell and full of stars.

Seth's Coffee Cup Ambush

Can't go wrong here really. Pulling for Dracula but the Waterboy will be a fun trip down memory lane. And of course Scorsese is always worthwhile. Some good 80s/90s films for the future: Ronin (1998) - Heist/spy thriller with some of the best practical car chases ever filmed Sneakers (1992) - A lighter, fun early 90s techno-thriller with a great cast Strange Brew (1983) - Goofy Canadian comedy from Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas Elephant Man (1980) - David Lynch's take on the story of Joseph Merrick Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - Musical dark comedy with Rick Moranis, Steve Martin and a plant

jmundt33a

Sneakers is great.

Morion Williams

I can't believe waterboy is beating out Lost boys.

Logan Kerlee

Surprising to me as well. Though, The Lost Boys is definitely more of a Halloween/late in the year type of flick than a beginning of Summer movie so it sorta makes sense? Still though - between the two, I'm all for The Lost Boys!

Logan Kerlee

Really? That's a bit disappointing, I feel. I enjoy reactions because I like to see other people's perspectives on things in movies/shows. If they happen to be watching something that I don't enjoy I'll still watch just to see where they stand on it. I don't think that there's a movie/show that they've filmed a reaction to that I haven't watched yet. I've even gone back to watch previous posts before I subscribed all those months ago.

Logan Kerlee

I'd be down to watch Out of Sight! I just googled and watched the trailer. Yeah, I'd be down to give that a watch. :)

Mike FromOz

If it wins, I'll just skip it. Adam Sandler movies aren't my favourite (he is great in Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems), but one where he is playing a disabled person for laughs is a definite no for me. Would have loved to have seen any of the others though. Maybe we can eek out a win on Casino or Lost Boys?

BellaBlue

I wish I was surprised..but such is life

BellaBlue

or any of the other films but it is how it goes...

BellaBlue

Requests for your consideration, Comedy every other year division: - Y2K (2024) - Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) - I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020) - The Favourite (2018) - Sausage Party (2016) - Frank (2014)

Stephanie Bedworth

No matter how you feel about The Waterboy, it was an instant hit when it came out and remembered fondly by a whole lot of people. Heathers, on the other hand, was a box office flop that only gained a cult following after it was released on vhs and later on, dvd. As much as I like Heathers, its type of comedy is not going to appeal to the masses like The Waterboy does and I think the voting here reflects that. We've seen that over and over again with movies. I'm still trying to figure out what the hell anyone saw in Ace Ventura.

sarCC

I find this highly offensive: McDonald's is WAY better than The Waterboy!

jmundt33a

Adaptation feels like it goes on that Freddie Got Fingered, Outsiders enhanced interrogation shelf. All that bleakness with one literary wisecrack about naming a serial killer in a screenplay. I was miserable watching it. Which is part of the point, but banal misery is not an experience I seek to repeat or relive.

John

Ronin is great and definitely worth a watch

John

The man with one red shoe is underrated and features Carrie Fisher which is always great (though in a minor role)

John

Twins and the Pelican Brief are great though very different

Logan Kerlee

No idea - I'd love for them to see it though!

Logan Kerlee

The soundtrack is filled with banger after banger!! Love that movie. :)

elias rinis

Sausage Party would be so fun

Logan Kerlee

I'd love for them to react to The Birdcage! Such a good movie. :)

JoeE

Like grosse point blank

Logan Kerlee

If not Heathers - then Robin Hood or Broken Arrow for me. Christian Slater's a cool actor but I have trouble remembering him in a lot of movies.

Matthew Blackwood

Then every OTHER other? Heart Eyes (2025) Bottoms (2023) The French Dispatch (2021) The Lighthouse (2019) The Square (2017) The Lobster (2015) About Time (2013)

p0sthum4n

Home is where you make it

p0sthum4n

This is the best Cinebinge poll result in a LONG time imo

Angzarr

Coneheads, another fun Aykroyd movie.

s0rd3z

I'd be a lost waterboy if I went to a casino. Also Primer kind of looks like it was shot in the 90's 🤔

jmundt33a

Out of Sight is where Soderbergh cut his teeth directing big casts. Out of Sight rocked so Ocean’s 11 could party. Best J-Lo, high grade Clooney, solid Ving Rhames, Denis Farina rounding things out, villainous Don Cheadle and tiny treat cameos by Michael Keaton, Luis Guzman, and an almost anonymous Viola Davis. A truly stacked cast.

jmundt33a

Pelican Brief is a 90s fever dream of how American political scandals work. Similar to Clear and Present Danger. Still enjoy it though. Julia Roberts, Denzel, John Lithgow, Tony Goldwyn, Stanley Tucci, John Heard.

BellaBlue

yeah it's a riot

BellaBlue

great suggestions... I've requested Bottoms so much...glad someone else is on board...would be such a fun reaction.. Love every one of your suggestions and co-sign them all

michael murray

Question for Cinebinge, or anyone else who knows about Patreon workings from a creator side of things - do they allow a ranked voting system or some sort of points allocation system. eg, say there's five films listed; if you vote for one they get 5 points, if you vote all 5 they each get 1 point? or is it just a basic tick/no tick option?

Cinebinge

unfortunately Patreon does not have rank choice voting. its been a feature we've been sending requests for every quarter for years now. hopefully with enough users and creators sending in requests, they will develop the feature some day soon!

michael murray

Cool, thanks for the info. As a thought, what about multi-part polls? eg, you set a poll on Monday with 6 films, then on Wednesday (or whenever) the 3 top polling films get a new poll? I guess it would be more work on your end and possibly mess with your scheduling but just an idea.

jmundt33a

😮‍💨 The animated film with five endings. Interesting idea and voice cast though.

Chase Schleich

Waterboy is beating.... Casino..... wtf is wrong with the world?!

droodly

absolutely nothing baby! joy is winning!

Some Guy Some Where

It’s been a while since I watched Adaptation, but my memory of the movie was feeling joy at the creativity and getting wrapped up in the movie. I don’t remember it as bleak. I’m not saying you’re wrong, obviously it’s subjective. Maybe it hit me strangely, or maybe I have a lot of tolerance for bleakness.

droodly

What about a Thunderdome style polling system where we can challenge others votes in combat?

William Adderholdt

And "Heathers"? But that is a cult classic! I'm sure George would recognize the memes that come from that movie.

Stugotz

So it looks like Waterboy is going to win, I just want to give George a heads up that there are going to be a lot of Cajun accents in this movie. I remember in Deadpool & Wolverine he was a bit confused by Channing Tatum's Cajun accent so I just wanted to let him know it's a real accent that is used in certain parts of Louisiana. Although I will say that Gambit's accent was a lot more authentic, in the Waterboy the accents are more exaggerated and mostly just played for laughs.

Dwight Scarn

You playing the Foos ball behind my back!

rictus grin

oh well waterboy one of the two in the list i wouldn't vote for, is winning lol

Khan1001

Casino is a masterpiece, the people voting for Waterboy clearly haven't seen Casino, oh well, future poll I guess

Nicholas DiNardi

Some recomendations from some of my favourites Strange Brew 1983 Fletch 1985 Blood Simple 1985 Midnight Run 1988 Starman 1984 Gloria 1980 Blowout 1981 Darkman 1990 The Thing Red Line 1998 True Romance 1993 Empire of the Sun 1987 Night of the Living Dead 1968 plus 1990 remake Dawn of the Dead 1978 Day of the Dead 1985 Land of the Dead 2005 Return of the Living Dead 1985

The Film Effect

I’m so ready for you to see Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Ryan K

I'm okay with Waterboy leading, but Glengarry Glen Ross is such a tour de force.

Seth's Coffee Cup Ambush

Strange Brew and Blow Out would be great. Night of the Living Dead (1968) and its sequels too.

BellaBlue

I had forgot about that movie for some reason but yes...loved it... I love Katherine Langford

Brent bmc_comix

I know, she's a dead girl walking here, am I right?😔 (Please someone laugh, lol)

Be Human

Not Waterboy beating out Casino and Lost Boys!

Jay Davis

My mama say there's somethin' wrong with all y'all's medulla oblongata!!!

Jay Davis

My love of all things David Mamet notwithstanding, I agree.

Jay Davis

Here again, Ronin. A David Mamet. You know... I think they should just watch the entire David Mamet filmography. Yes. Even About Last Night!

The Dark Unknown

scooby doo won a horror poll... nothing surprises me anymore

Stately, Plump Buck Mulligan

It's definitely bleak, in the way that virtually everything Charlie Kaufman makes is. But it's also exuberantly inventive, clever, and affecting, again in the way that basically everything Charlie Kaufman makes is.

jmundt33a

Ugh. Assault apologia does not deserve to burn neurons. Even from a gifted writer which Mamet is. I will throw in my voice for Spartan and The Spanish Prisoner.

jmundt33a

I really like Nancy Travis, but this is a bit tough for me. I like Greedy, but that’s a tough sell too.

jmundt33a

The bleakness was the capper for me. I guess Meryl’s “that’s it?” For the orchid just hit me hard.

Adam

I have an obscure recommendation. It's a comedy from 1990 called "I Love You to Death" Has an amazing cast. Kevin Kline, River Phoenix, Tracey Ullman and a young Keanu Reeves. It won't win any polls though. I doubt that many people here have ever heard of it.

jmundt33a

About Time is fantastic.

jay

George! I was watching a super old video and heard you tell Simone how you guys gotta get around to watching The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy & I gotta say I'm SUPER disappointed it hasn't been done yet!!

Logan Kerlee

I just watched the trailer for Adaptation and I've gotta say that I'm interested in watching it! :) It looks pretty darn cool.

Some Guy Some Where

If you do, tell us how bleak you found it! I strongly recommend watching Being John Malkovich first, for reasons I can’t explain without a spoiler. It’s also a weird, interesting movie, and well worth watching.

Astraeos

Well better keep on waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

Justin Leone

Right? I mean, I'm not surprised it's not winning, because people just vote for the movies they've seen (understandably). And nothing particular against Adam Sandler movies, but it's still sad when middling (or even solid) comedies win polls largely for having had broad viewership over movies that are truly evocative or iconic.

BoredLittleLady

For the hopefully upcoming 2010s poll. I’d like to recommend: Chronicle (2012).

Randy Gibson

I would love nothing more than for you guys to react to Grosse Pointe Blank!

Major Peril

+1 for Starman, Blowout, Darkman and Empire of the Sun.
