Lazy Boy Stays Up Late Watching Video Tapes

Fantastic Show. I like how the writing is using John Blackthorne to represent the viewer. I identify with him as the non-Japanese speaker who lacks understanding of what is actually taking place were he is and the customs that are foreign to him as well, for myself. I am learning as he is learning. I also like the playing with language, were people are saying insults in their language that the other person does not know, all the while translated speech is primarily only diplomatic. We, on the other hand, are let in on the jokes and yet we too are fully reliant upon translation.
