nossieboy

True Romance is the shit ngl But have your fun.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

10 Things I Hate About You is one of my top movies to rewatch. So much fun and it gave us a star turn for Heath Ledger (rip). Matilda is also wonderful

Matthew Alix

Once you watch more teen movies (10 Things I Hate About You, etc) then you should watch Not Another Teen Movie which is a comedy that riffs on all those moviesm it also stars a very young Chris Evans.

Jay Perry

Heathers is an under-appreciated gem.

Warmachine1228

Heathers wasn't the most popular movie but it was very important and formative to people in my age group. A lot of one-liners came from that movie that made it into pop culture of that time.

Boyan Konov

You should 100% skip rocky 5 and go to Rocky Balboa a lot of people think it's the best movie of the franchise

Warmachine1228

A Long Kiss Goodnight was 96'. I'm a little (but not a lot) surprised it didn't make this poll.

Dom

Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.

E-You

Love it too.

Ryan Alexander

I'm not surprised, but still outraged. Such an underrated movie

Nolmt112

While Rocky V is my least favorite of the series I voted for it because once you get past it the series return to the quality and story telling of Rocky I & II with Balboa and then the Creed series. There are some better movies on the list but to me I prefer when the movies are new to both Simone and George and those that are new to both I feel are not as good as Balboa and Creed. They also get to close that circle they started many years ago with Rocky.

Darren Harrison

Watched the “When Harry Met Sally” reaction last night when “10 Things I Hate About You” was brought up as a possible future reaction

Michael Johnson

Falling Down, Heathers and True Romance are all great candidates. Look forward to seeing all at some point

Chris B

Not Rocky 5 BUT really worth doing Rocky Balboa (6th part) and then going into the Creed movies.

Jacob Ryan

goddamn it i hope falling down makes it at least, alongside the lost boys

mike

The Lost Boys is a MUST see imo

John_rd

Lost Boys has to win surely. Right?

E-You

True Romance is an easy pick for me. Great cast, great director, and great script (spoiler alert: if you already know who wrote this, don't ruin it for others). If TR is not picked, Heathers, LB, Falling and 10 Things, in this order, would all be worthy watches.

streaky

Rocky 5 is a complicated problem. It won't win a poll, particularly one where it has real competition - the truth is it's a bad movie, *but* it also has fairly important context for Rocky Balboa (which is definitely *not* a bad movie) and spin-off movies. It's an annoying problem, but if you're going to watch it you're going to have to decide to do it for yourselves, because it'll likely never win a poll, otherwise skip it and just put Balboa in polls instead.

mojo shivers

All these are great and several are classics, but it has to be Lost Boys. That's the only one that jumped out at me as being a must-see if they hadn't seen it yet. And there's only one with a Sax Dude.

Dan

If you're gonna have Heathers on here, you should add "Pump Up the Volume" first. Both have Christian Slater as the lead at about the same time, both were part of his breakout as an actor, and PUtV is way better, hits way harder

E-You

Pump Up the Volume is a damn good movie and an even better soundtrack.

streaky

It's one of those polls where you can immediately tell which is going to win - I'm not really a fan of Lost Boys (in the sense of I don't get much value out of a rewatch or vicarious enjoyment from it - like I would from Falling Down) but it is as you say a classic that people should watch at least once.

s0rd3z

Honestly I don't care much for any of these. I suppose Falling Down or Lost Boys. But for me this list is pretty meh

E-You

Yeah, a good one for sure.

dudewheresmycar

Agree with skipping Rocky 5. It's a movie that's bad enough for even Stallone to hate on it publicly, and all the subsequent movies act like the 5th movie didn't happen.

Mike W

So many great lines in the lost boys

Smooticus

Some good ones on the list here, but I'm constantly surprised how many far superior movies from the 80's and 90's never make these lists

Jeff Norwood-Brown

I only recently realised the pretty lady in the gang is the fiancé in Twister. (Picking my words carefully so there are no spoilers hopefully).

Raymond DeGraw

Very good poll... looking forward to seeing which will be the winner... I love your reactions. Hoping for these in the future... 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. R.E.D. 3. Secondhand Lions 4. Weird Science 5. The Long Kiss Goodnight

Jeff Norwood-Brown

Falling Down was massive when it came out but has just faded into history. I can only recall that it’s about someone getting grumpy in a traffic jam. I think.

Max Carter

Matilda is legit great. Can I recommend: All the Presidents Men The Proposition Hard Eight Portrait of a Lady on Fire Spotlight JFK The Hard Way Prisoners

FrancescoTakesItEasy

The Lost Boys - the first horror movie I ever saw, which sparked a lifelong passion. It was New Year's Eve, either 1990 or 1991, so I was 5 or 6. This would be amazing. Also voted for Heathers, Falling Down, and True Romance.

Warmachine1228

The other thing about LKGN is that Samuel L Jackson has said repeatedly that this character was his favorite that he ever played. You'd think the fact that they're such huge SLJ fans might move it up the list a bit.

Jeff K.

I just need Simone, in particular, to react to one certain person in The Lost Boys. It's not one of the main cast members. But I think, without spoiling who I'm talking about, most people who've seen the film can guess exactly who I mean.

mojo shivers

Completely agree. It's not my favorite. And Falling Down and True Romance I think I enjoy more, but Lost Boys has this mystique of being a little bit more unique and iconic than the rest, and honestly I'd be more curious about their reaction more in response to that movie than the rest of the films mentioned. Plus, you know, Sax Dude.

Sir Dongle

Would love to see Harry & The Henderson's on a future poll

FCBahamutZero

No Rocky V love LOLOLOLOL. Even Stallone hates it

Ian Schrijvers

Heathers is a classic dark comedy. I was obsessed with this movie when it came out.

Daniel Smith

I still believe? Seems vague enough of a hint not to spoil anything.

Daniel Smith

Technically still a 90’s film as it came out in 1999, can I suggest Go.

Richard Burrell

Some great choices. I’d be happy with Falling Down or Lost Boys

Jeff K.

You're damn right.

Mike FromOz

'Go' is great. It's like a young adult 'Pulp Fiction'.

jmundt33a

That’s because he wanted an even WORSE ending, and the studio wouldn’t allow it.

Adam K

Let’s get Rocky 5 taken care of so we can get to the brilliant Rocky Balboa & Creed!

Emily G

Ever After (1998) Practical Magic (1998) Moulin Rouge (2001) The Patriot (2000) Fried Green Tomato (1991)

jmundt33a

Definitely Monte Cristo, Weird Science, and Long Kiss Goodnight.

jmundt33a

And here I am pushing for Lucky Number Slevin, Sneakers, About Time, and She’s Out of My League.

Daniel Smith

Not a big fan of “New only to … “ but I completely understand why they exist. Easily guessed 10 things was only new to George but completely surprised that True Romance is new to George. I was thinking that would be more up George’s street than Simone’s.

Daniel Smith

I think Matilda is my favourite Rolald Dahl adaptation. Seems to nail the weird world his books live in.

rictus grin

while the lost boys is a fun vampire movie i much preferred Near Dark that came out the same year

jmundt33a

Ever After, the best Cinderella. Practical Magic—a personal favorite The Patriot—American Braveheart. Still an awesome watch.

Andrew R

Falling Down has to win!

Daniel Smith

Was thinking about describing it as that and wasn’t sure it would count as a spoiler or not.

Chase Lonnergan

Any fan of The Lost Boys and that character needs to watch the music video for Dark All Day by Gunship. Very entertaining and nostalgic.

Chase Lonnergan

I am so very happy to see The Lost Boys finally winning a poll.

Daniel Smith

That’s definitely getting a “oh my gawd!!!!!” From Simone

Chase Lonnergan

Pump Up the Volume doesn't get nearly enough love from reactors.

Brian Wolf

Literally watch all of these

Chase Lonnergan

For all Lost Boys fans, I recommend the music video for Dark All Day by Gunship.

Chase Lonnergan

It does set up why Rocky was not a gazillionaire and couldn't box anymore, which were kind of important for the plot of Rocky Balboa.

Liam Nissan

Personally hoping for Falling Down.. Such an interesting movie..

Korpse

Start from the top and watch them all 💯😆🙌

StableVision

can't believe neither of you guys have seen matilda

Chris Graham

The Lost Boys is the 1st Horror movie I ever saw, some say 6 years old is too early to start but what the heck 😅

Paul Mix

Yes, sort of like how Kill Bill involves a mild domestic dispute.

Paul Mix

What's your damage? :)

John

I completely agree, I don’t anticipate it will win, but I hope it gets watched soon so that you can watch Rocky Balboa and start the Creed series. Given how much you enjoyed Sinners, Creed is probably the collaboration that put Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan on the map together. Creed is also an amazing legacy sequel. I recognize was first and would love to see a reaction to Fruitville Station

John

I don’t love Rocky V but if it gets us to Rocky Balboa and Creed. I can live with it.

Nabikon

Matilda is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. Danny Devito is a national treasure! Also, another 90s movie is Freaked (1993)

Maiki

Yes please, all of them.

John

I would certainly recommend the Long Kiss Goodnight. I think if you enjoyed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang you would really enjoy The Long Kiss Goodnight

Alex Ch

I’m looking through the biggest box office totals to see what might be successful reactions….

Warmachine1228

I've already commented here about Long Kiss Goodnight but I can't wait for them to see R.E.D.! :D

Ginger

Wow, people don't like Rocky 5 :D

Neumann

Ain't nothing to feel guilty about, it's a wonderful movie!

Alex Ch

Deep Impact (1998) was kind of the smarter film to come out the same summer as Armaggeddon, but also top-7 at the box office for the year.

Alex Ch

The Birdcage was the biggest comedy of 1996, with Robin Williams leading the cast.

John

Two Danny Devito movies I would recommend are Other People’s Money and Twins

Elroy

I also saw it at six and didn’t sleep for a night after that lmao

Actuarial Lurker

George- you should have a "NONE of the Above" choice on every poll

robodong

isnt that just same as not voting? and if you dont like any of the choices, then comment what you do like? why give a button dedicated just for people to complain but offer no alternatives or suggestions.

Actuarial Lurker

The comments are for suggestions the poll is for votes- a person can put none of these on the poll and suggest other items in the comments. None is a valuable choice since note voting could be due to apathy or missing the polling window rather than actively saying no. I frequently post suggestions even when I DO vote affirmatively in the polls, I don't think they have done "immortal Beloved" and that would be my pick for 80s/90s

Morningstar

Don’t forget Cloud Atlas please 💕

Jacob King

Falling Down is just boomer Heathers

Chris Graham

Likewise, its a lot of fun though

FWPJR.

I love 10 Things I hate about you, but knowing that it’s only new to George kind of takes the excitement out of watching the reaction. Maybe that’s just me that feels that way, but I love watching the reactions from the movies you both haven’t seen. I’ll probably still watch the reaction if it wins though, but right now it doesn’t look like it will.

FWPJR.

I do

Jacob King

Heathers is incredibly influential - it’s the Velvet Underground of high school movies.

theLandofLiz

I love the lost boys but also PLEASE watch Heathers at some point!!

Jeff K.

Same. That’s the only reason that Lost Boys got my vote over 10 Things.

Jacob King

Not arguing, it’s great, but if you get a chance to see the 1989 Danny The Champion of The World it’s really tender and heartfelt. Jeremy Irons plays opposite his actual son. I’m also a sucker for anything Wes Anderson so I loved all those Netflix shorts.

Xavier Casanova

True Romance only being new to George is funny because I'd like to think Simone watched that initially thinking it was a romcom.

robodong

so why not just comment "none of these for me, here are my suggestions". as people are already doing, that functions the same.

Tony Wirt

It’s tough choosing between Matilda and Lost Boys, but I gots to choose Lost Boys cause of the music alone. “When you’re strange, faces come out of the rain.”

robodong

choose both :) you can vote for more than 1 thing.

Tony Wirt

Yea, I just peeped that I could so I voted them both

FWPJR.

I voted for Rocky 5 and Lost Boys, I know people hate Rocky 5. But I think it’s ok, I actually enjoy all the Rocky movies.

Jeb Manning

These are all pretty good. However, another one I hope you put on a future poll is Return of the Living Dead for its 40th anniversary. It would be a good follow up to your Night of the Living Dead reaction. Return of the Living Dead actually uses Night of the Living Dead as part of its backstory. The opening monologue is a chilling story that's delivered and acted really well and is actually really creepy. Return of the Living Dead really does have one of the greatest pre title sequences ever in a horror movie. It's also where pop culture got the idea of zombies eating brains. It's just one of the best horror movies of the 80's, one of the best horror movies in general, and one of the best zombie movies around. If you're a zombie movie fan at all, seeing Return of the Living Dead is basically mandatory.

Siel sielll

lost boys finally might win oh my

Ric a Lic

What crazy ass MFers are voting for Rocky 5?

Hans Olav Sletnes

Some suggestions in keeping with the theme. 80s movies: Platoon (this was runner up in an earlier poll, I believe) Runaway Train Angel Hart Down and Out in Beverly Hills 90s movies: Ed Wood What about Bob? Jacob's Ladder In The Line Of Fire Donnie Brasco

Adam

What About Bob

Michael Buhl

Repo Man (1984) would be an intense addition to this poll.

Jonathan Eaton

Angel Heart has that one scene where... yikes.

mojo shivers

Jami Gertz is also worth $8 to $12 billion dollars. Her husband and her founded and run a global asset management company. They also are part owners of the Atlanta Hawks and a more minority share in the Milwaukee Brewers.

Logan Nelson

OK... How is Matilda so far down... My favorite movie of all time...

Hans Olav Sletnes

I also had vision the other day of you reacting to season 2-4 of Blackadder. Probably not gonna happen, but can't hurt to suggest it ;) It's a shortish show as well (18 30-minute episodes spread across 3 seasons) so it wouldn't be too much of a time commitment.

Alex Ch

It’s not an actual choice. There’s no poll where they’re going to say “well, we aren’t going to watch a movie on Saturday this week.” If you hate all the films, it doesn’t matter to the voting any more than if you were apathetic, you’ll just have to wait for the next poll.

Jonathan Eaton

My Life (1993). This movie broke me.

Jay Davis

"One thing about voting for Falling Down I never could stomach; all the damn vampire votes!" Also, no Ladyhawke (1985)? Aww!

Jay Davis

Agreed. Takes some wind out to have only half the first time reaction (though maybe a Simone 2nd time reaction sometimes still counts as a first time reaction??) Made my love of Michael Clayton a bit less bright, for example.

Jay Davis

I love it for Balki and for no other reason. Now, tell me. Am I lying?

Robert Finlay

I am looking forward to seeing George photoshopped as shirtless sax guy from the Lost Boys.

Anders Sandum

Movie recommendations: The Man Who Would Be King(1975) The Mission(1986) The Last of the Mohicans(1992) Quiz Show(1994) Cold Comfort Farm(1995) Hackers(1995) Rob Roy(1995) Beautiful Girls(1996) Event Horizon(1997) Dangerous Beauty(1998) Stigmata(1999) Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo(1999) Almost Famous(2000) The Royal Tenenbaums(2001) Spy Game(2001) Joe Dirt(2001) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back(2001) A Mighty Wind (2003) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou(2004) I Love You, Man(2009) Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy(2011)

Adam

I'm surprised True Romance is doing so poorly

JoeE

Second man who would be king, cold comfort

JoeE

Would also recommend millers crossing, talented Mr ripley, to live and die in l a

Rob

The Lost Boys is the definition of an 80's movie. You guys are going to love it

Da Big Appa

As an older guy I can say falling down does not quite hold up as much in 2025. Some problematic stuff in there. Still a good movie but also good to talk about the plot of the movie and how it's viewed in todays standards.

Ste Rawlings

Watched it for the first time a couple of years ago and it's so thoroughly unpleasant. I don't think it will land for the guys at all so will be interesting to see how they react

Bruce Liddle

Funny to say that True Romance is the quintessential Quentin Tarantino film, without, actually being directed by him. Impossible to not get excited during the cast list at the start of the film.

Bruce Liddle

Heathers is superb. One of my favourite films of all time. If you look at that, you should also look up Pump Up The Volume. Christian Slater superb in both. And The Lost Boys now available in 4K is beautiful, prime cheese.

China Andronicus

Recommendations: -Rebel Without a Cause (1955) -The Lion in Winter (1968) -The Thin Man (1934) -Breaker Morant (1980) -The Imposters (1998) -I Love You to Death (1990) -The Dirty Dozen (1967) -Some Like it Hot (1959) -Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? (1967) -Dog Day Afternoon (1975) -Serpico (1973) Rebel Without a Cause is the best of only three films James Dean made before he died, so you really must see it at some point. Brilliant actor gone far too soon.

China Andronicus

Man Who Would Be King and Rob Roy are vastly underrated these days.

maikeru

Long time ago since a Schwarzenegger film was on a poll ps: maybe you wanna start the Dirty Harry franchise in the future?

Kinokind

When I saw "Heathers" in the theater, I remember the first thing I said was: "Is he doing Jack Nicholson?" A fun film. Possibly the first of its kind.

maikeru

directed by the goat danny devito

Jobbe Smit

I think it held up pretty well if you don't miss the subtext on who's a bad guy. Very much suffers from cool bad guys syndrome.

sarCC

It's important to all of the most popular high-school films that followed it(and Buffy). They all have Heathers' DNA, but all pale in comparison.

sarCC

Heathers is excellent and set a standard for high-school comedies that few have ever met.

maikeru

it’s a decent movie, dunno what ppl are on.. also his (real) son did a solid performance

Random Nevermind

Please consider those two for next poll like that: Thinner (1996) (I know it is not that good. But it is a fun movie) A Bronx Tale (1993) (This one is really great)

Beddoe

When you do eventually watch 'Falling Down' it should be followed up with a watch of the music video 'Walk' by Foo Fighters.

maikeru

nah, I’d prefer they watch the 5th, it belongs to the rocky universe regardless if it’s bad or not. never was a fan of skipping, I’m curious what G&S think about the movie and not what others tell them to think about it ("it’s bad"). That’s why I’d prefer they watch the other Tremors films, to see for themselves what changed and what they liked or disliked about them. also: it’s content; the guys from "raggedy pack" watched ALL 10 Saw films although many are not so good, but it’s fun to watch their reactions. the girls from "reel rejects" watched over half a dozen of the "wrong turn" films.. I mean, why not, so be it. some will watch all those reacts, some only two, some none. all equally fine.

JD Nevesytrof

oh my god you guys really need to complete the Rocky saga and Rocky V is nowhere near as bad as it's been cracked up to be

Huckleberry lobo

The Frighteners - directed by Peter Jackson starring Michael J Fox

JD Nevesytrof

I wouldn't even consider Rocky V bad at all, it's just a deliberate tone shift back to how Rocky I felt

streaky

I'm inclined to agree - but it isn't going to win a poll either.

Florian

Yeah awsome idea!

Adam

I second I Love You To Death and Dog Day Afternoon

China Andronicus

I never meet anyone who knows I Love You to Death. Such an underrated gem of a comedy, with an amazing cast.

Jeff K.

I think there's a solid chance that the thumbnail for that movie would include either George or Simone photoshopped as that character. It'd be glorious.

Adam

Same here. I recommended it like a month ago and I honestly thought I was the only person here who knew anything about it.

China Andronicus

It’s one of my favorite comedic films ever. Absolutely brilliant.

Jordan Barnes

Matilda is a staple of my childhood and made me feel seen solely because of her hobby.

Eddy V Ruiz II

I agree, but not enough people know about heathers for it to win such an open poll

Garrett Mazzuca

Matilda is a childhood classic for me. The musical on Netflix is also very good.

Farbod

Lost Boys is great. But it’s truly a crime that Simone hasn’t watched Heathers yet.

Nico Colaleo

If George wants to check out the inspiration for Frank Grimes from the Simpsons, check out Falling Down!

cincassette

Dog Day Afternoon is such a great film! They have yet to revisit Sidney Lumet since watching 12 Angry Men, and he has so many more great movies!

China Andronicus

DDA and Serpico are both fantastic films by Lumet.

Happy Hanukkah

Woo! And then I saw the current results. :-/ :-)

Ben Stevens

ahh old Grimey. truly forgettable guy.

Ben Stevens

controversial take (maybe, for the Rocky completionists among us): Rocky 5 and Rocky Balboa are totally skippable. You could jump to the Creed series now and wouldn't miss much. Heathers I can also take or leave, but every other movie on this list deserves its time on the channel.

Happy Hanukkah

Sneakers is sufficiently up their alley that I could (mistakenly) swear that they've already reacted to it.

Happy Hanukkah

I don't have any burning desire to see Rocky 5 and it's far from my favorite in the poll, but it's an OK movie and IF S&G are going to continue the Rocky/Creed series, I think it would be silly to skip it. (Maybe that'll encourage me to finally watch the "workprint" version.)

Happy Hanukkah

True Romance: the movie in which the Emperor learned an important lesson from an easy rider.

Bill Woods

Down Periscope (1996). Kelsey Grammer as a piratical submarine skipper. Comedy. The 13th Warrior (1999). Antonio Banderas goes aviking. Action.

Tyler Foster

Sad to see that 10 Things is lagging behind, but hopefully it will return on a high school poll where I imagine it will do much better.

mky

Harmony Cobel vs. Tony Soprano! Priceless.

mky

I see what you did there. I love that movie.

mky

Time Bandits (1981), Repo Man (1984), After Hours (1985)...

JoeE

Second after hours

JoeE

Like some like it hot, breaker mordant

Dan Holmes

Falling Down and Matilda should be ravaging this poll

Da Big Appa

I don't want to give any spoilers for it. But I view it as watching a villain not like the anti hero some people believe it to be.

John

The 13th warrior is underrated

Dirge Girl

Fallen (1998) [Horror/Crime] - Denzel Washington and John Goodman.

John

I voted for Rocky V and a few others. Mainly because I would love to see their reactions to the Creed series and I don’t think those will be watched until Rocky V is seen. Even though I think it’s bad it is a necessary movie to move to things I’d like to see. I hope that answers your question

Da Big Appa

Great movie that a lot of people have missed

Joe D

Rocky 5 never happened as far as I’m concerned. Balboa was fine.

Ryan Johnson

Disappointed that Heathers isn't getting more love. It's a classic. So strange yet perfect.

Tmatts

Oof, ah well. what can ya do

nigel Macbug

yay the vampire music video with the saxy man

Cinebinge

Hi Dustin, while we understand that you may personally not like a movie, we ask that you do not spam replies to everyone with insults towards those who do. We ask all our patrons to help keep things civil and behave like mature adults, to keep this community enjoyable for all. This will be the first and only warning, continuing to do so will result in a permanent ban. Thank you.

CD

Wait…didn’t we cover this? Are we sure Simone…who had (according to the channel) never seen ANY of QTs work…has somehow seen, the QT-penned True Romance. Is she mistaken it for something else, because it says Romance (or…is that how she “accidentally” saw it to begin with)?. 🤣

Marvin Just Marvin

Voted Heathers on this poll for that classic 80's vibe. Another good 80's movie is Bad Boys (1983) with Sean Penn, Esai Morales, Ally Sheedy, and Clancy Brown. This is a forgotten classic.

CD

Ditto. I’ve seen plenty of Bingers STRONGLY recommend it (with a fun twist, now that they’ve seen Severance). I suspect it’s because “Simone has seen it”…though I’m still waiting for that clarification, elsewhere in the comments. I mean, PLEASE…correct me if I’m wrong: but I can barely think of a less Simone-type movie for her to see outside of the channel (when, again…she’d never seen ANY of QTs work). There MUST be a story! You’ve Got Mail…Gilmore Girls……True Romance. Which of these, is not like the others? Too bad Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) didn’t make it on to this poll; or…did she see that too 🤣😂🤣

John

The Frighteners is definitely worth watching, particularly in October if not sooner.

Robert Finlay

I agree but not enough people will vote for Near Dark which is by far the best 80s Vampire movie.

Mike FromOz

I'd like to recommend a movie that really surprised the hell out of my when I first watched it - "Ghost Dog". The whole premise seemed ludicrous to me, but damn if Forest Whittaker didn't make the entire thing so plausible and amazing. It's definitely worth a watch.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Y’all still have the chance to make the inner mulberry sapling in me happy by voting for “Matilda” :) Edit: And for a couple of other comfort movies: “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” “As Good As It Gets” “Three Colours: Blue” “Lilo & Stitch” (2002)

Guy-on-Couch

YES LOST BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John

Forest Whittaker is a great actor. I second Ghost Dog and would also recommend The Last King of Scotland

John

Fallen is great and would make for a fantastic Halloween watch

Collinson

Just wondering if you guys have watched Edgerunners at all if not could be a good reaction with a second season not far off.

Happy Hanukkah

I suppose I could be less elliptical. I am discussing True Romance and Dune 2. I won't be explicit, but nonetheless: SPOILERS! My suggestion is that the Emperor's motivation for delivering his evaluation of the father is the same as that of the father's [Hopper] motivation for his historical lecture.

fwfwfwfwf wfwfw

for me its a 3 way tie be tween 10 thing i hate about you, miltilda, and falling down. its a had pick :-)

CarolynK

Heathers, please.

BellaBlue

I voted Heathers (yes I only vote for one film since I think that is how it should be).. but I would be happy w Heathers, The Lost Boys, or Falling Down

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

+1 The Gentlemen

ktown64

A few suggestions: • Ladyhawke (1985) • Dragonheart (1996) • Electric Dreams (1984) • A Simple Plan (1998) • The Artist (2011) • Wild Things (1998) • The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) • The African Queen (1951)

Kate Suhrgirl

I just remembered a funny comedy called Movie 43. I recommend that for the future.

UncleGaGa1979

A Simple Plan is so underrated!! Billy Bob Thornton is amazing as the brother!! Speaking of Bill Paxton, they need to react to his directorial debut, Frailty.

ktown64

Sling Blade is another good one but I don’t think it’s streaming anywhere.

UncleGaGa1979

Someone else suggested that they should react to A Simple Plan from 1998. Here are a few more suggestions from the 90s: Breakdown (1997) The Negotiator (1998) Private Parts (1997) Go! (1999) Arlington Road (1999) Sleepers (1996) Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991) Toy Soldiers (1991) Problem Child (1990) Waiting for Guffman (1996) Kingpin (1996) My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)

UncleGaGa1979

It still amazes me that Falling Down was directed by the same dude who made Batman Forever, Batman & Robin and the 2004 iteration of Phantom of the Opera. He also made some halfway decent movies as well: Flatliners, Phone Booth and A Time to Kill.

R. Chang

Heathers is such a classic.

Silver Linings Starman

Second on "The Negotiator". Some of the best dialogue in any movie I've seen.

Brandon Meng

Would have loved to see The Edge with Anthony Hopkins and Alex Baldwin (1997), Election with Reese Witherspoon (1999), Kingpin (1996), or Rushmore (1998) show up on a poll like this. Falling Down is a nice little light hearted day in the life jaunt through Los Angeles, should be a pleasant time if it can win. Recs for next week Perks of Being a Wallflower Manchester by the Sea Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Midnight in Paris Sideways Cheers!

Geoff Walsh

How the hell is True Romance doing so poorly in the poll? Perfect combination of writer and director! Hopefully it'll appear again on another poll!

PeppermintWizardOfAus

Can we maybe just add Rocky 5 to the watch without a poll list cause no one’s ever gonna pick it over something else but it’s keeping us from getting to Creed

P S

Heather's and True Romance are the 2 standouts here, honorary mention to falling down, the rest is just pop shlock

Dwight Scarn

They must see Fright Night!!

Polecat21

+1 for:Perks of Being a Wallflower Manchester by the Sea Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

CD

Not sure they can handle another Kevin S. movie

jmundt33a

You would, because you’d expect Rocky to be all alone in a giant mansion without V

jmundt33a

The Negotiator and Sleepers are excellent. Arlington Road is disturbing in a well-done way. I HATED My Best Friend’s Wedding. A delicious Rupert Everett turn from being Forces of Nature. Argh!

jmundt33a

I’d pick Sideways off that list.

jmundt33a

Wild Things is pulp fun. Dragonheart is odd, but I like it.

jmundt33a

+2 The Gentlemen

jmundt33a

Great film. Great cast.

Michael

Matilda is so fun, its not gonna win but I'm gonna watch it now

Alex Hyrule

One of these days my 1st choice will match what comes 1st or even second :) Matilda such a fun movie.

jmundt33a

Trolling is discouraged around here.

jmundt33a

As Good As it Gets is peak James L Brooks. My favorite is How Do You Know. But the other is a classic.

jmundt33a

I was stunned to learn Emma Thompson is actually taller than Pam Ferris. I did not like Musical Matilda’s metaphorical visions of the past.

jmundt33a

Quiz Show, Mohicans, and Rob Roy.

jmundt33a

It does provoke tears.

jmundt33a

The book is superior in all aspects except the ending.

Stefan Daniw

Even though it looks like Matilda isn't going to win. I hope you guys react to it soon because I miss watching feel good movies on the channel.

John Smith

Can't say I agree that Matilda is a "feel good" movie. Yes she "wins" in the end, but the world she lives in is quite ugly. Most of Roald Dahl's stories feel that way.

Kate Suhrgirl

Who's trolling? I recently watched it again and was laughing the whole time.

Johnny Graterol Guevara

One movie that is rarely brought up from the 1990s is "Still Crazy" (1998). A hidden gem, which Roger Ebert called, "A kinder, gentler version of Spinal Tap."

Logan Kerlee

Just got finished watching The Negotiator and had a great time with it! That movie has my vote.

Logan Kerlee

I'd be happy with any of those aside from Falling Down.

jmundt33a

Her self-reliance and wit make her world a lot happier than other Dahl creations. She brings the spirit and joy with her. With assists from Miss Honey and Mrs. Phelps.

jmundt33a

Similar to Walter White proving to be a full villain early in Breaking Bad.

CD

I didn't know Matilda was a Dahl. OMGoodness...makes me want to get some love going for Fantastic Mr. Fox!

Happy Hanukkah

Brandon, are you sure we're talking about the same movie? Falling Down is the deeply touching tale of a man's love for his daughter.

Happy Hanukkah

In fairness, this is what they attempted to do in Creed 2. The trouble is that I found Creed's arc in that movie to be incomprehensible. Pity, since the rest of the movie was good.

Happy Hanukkah

Oh well, looks like: Thou shall not Fall Down. Cry, little sister. :-)

romai

Do you all think they would enjoy Frieren: Beyond Journeys End? not a very long series, it's fantasy as well, and the dub is pretty good too.

Ben Stevens

@ Cc Decc as i recall, the Creed franchise played well enough with the themes and there's enough of a hero's journey there for it to be a separate tale, yet still adequately tied into the Rocky/Apollo mythos. as for the Creed franchise "not letting Creed fail," i won't get into spoiler-y territory here, but there are plenty of bumps in the road and setbacks as well in the Creed trilogy, and Adonis's journey is no less memorable to me for being different from Rocky's. different times, different narrative structures, and really different pictures of what it means to be a boxing legend. nice to hear some other opinions in the thread! <3

Hollis Hamilton

Perks of Being a Wallflower would be my choice of the films you mentioned. However, Election and Sideways could be part of a nice director's poll with Nebraska, About Schmidt, The Decendants, and The Holdovers. I'd watch a reaction for all of them.

Hollis Hamilton

The Verdict with Paul Newman would be a great follow-up to 12 Angry Men.

Da Big Appa

Good comparison! I like WaIter more since we get to see his humanity being a show vs a short movie. I just have no empathy for the falling down character because of the bigoted acts.

jmundt33a

I despise that festering…..ahem. No, sorry. Not from me.

jmundt33a

Yes, The Verdict is superb.

China Andronicus

Breaker Morant is another one where I’ve only met one person who knows it. Fantastic film with one of my favorite actors, Edward Woodward.

Sir Dongle

It's a CRIME Little Shop of Horrors hasn't been on a list or just reacted to yet

CrunklJack don’t poop.

The cast of True Romance: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette (2 who admittedly may not be as well known); but, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Dennis Hopper, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, James Gandolfini, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore, Michael Rapaport, Bronson Pinchot, Saul Rubinek. Directed by Tony Scott. Everything he directs Looks fantastic. Written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary.

Sir Dongle

Spawn! Please add to the list! Crazy practical and digital effects

CD

Fantastic Mr. Fox? Oh...I'm an Anderson fan...not Dahl fan (not NOT a fan...just unfamiliar, except I know he wrote FMF and beloved others). So...Wes' adaptation is not well received in that community?

Markus

Damn, so few people ever react to Heathers. I get why. The theme is a YouTube nightmare. But if you ever react to it, make it a Patreon exclusive or something so you don’t get the hammer from YT.

jmundt33a

No. Many Dahl fans love it.

jmundt33a

With the same screenwriter too.
