Mike Kay

I still like to make volcano shaped mountains in my mashed potatoes even 48 years later.

JayF

Here is a very special clip from many years later where James Lipton reveals something very personal to Steven that he put into the movie without even realizing he did it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZspOEa1CP4A

Ricardo Alanis

I’ve enjoyed this movie more as I’ve gotten older. Also seeing more inspirations that movies like Signs and ID4 took for certain scenes.

Vellu

For a different Spielberg-produced take on extra terrestrials, check out the 2002 miniseries "Taken": "The lives of three families intersect over five decades, starting with the Roswell crash, as they experience abductions, secret government investigations, and the mystery of alien encounters." I remember this being somewhat polarizing show amongst my friends, but I enjoyed it.

Carlos Hurtado

I would love to see you guys check out The Fourth Kind (2009) its stars Mila Jovovich.

Raven Dark

Loved this reaction. Simone's jump at the start had me laughing so hard. For another great Richard Dreyfuss film, I would love you guys to react to Mr. Holland's Opus. I think you would both really enjoy it.

Gavin

Are you having a whoooo or a wheeeee kind of day George? Also, nice T-shirt. 😁

Hammond of Texas

I saw this film when it was released and have seen every subsequent re-release, it's been such a huge part of my childhood and spurred my interest in sci fi over the years.

BangDroid

Simone gave me a fright when she had that audio glitch in the beginning omg. It was like a contagious jump scare

Mike W

There's a short scene in a Babylon 5 episode with a human wanting to sue a grey alien for his ancestor abducting one of his ancestors :)

rictus grin

my nominations would be Stephen fry, David Attenborough and i have to put myself on that list ;) who wouldn't want to go

rictus grin

Doug Trumbull, also created the "Star Gate" sequence in 2001, and also directed the great eco scifi movie Silent Running which is well worth a watch

Gary Fixler

I know the time doesn't make any sense, but I really wanted to see Randy Quaid in a fighter jet pilot outfit come out of the ship at the end, yelling "Did you miss me, boys?!"

Gary Fixler

Nominate 3 people to be our liaisons to space aliens? Obviously Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez.

And then a 9 year old Will Smith comes to greet him and says: "Welcome to Earf"

Ari Ramirez

I nominate George and Simone to represent mankind in the galactic council

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Ever since listening to the song “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft” by the Carpenters, I’m convinced Karen Carpenter would have been humanity’s ideal representative. Unfortunately since she’s passed on, we’re cooked bruh. I guess our 2nd best option is Björk?

Thall

What that movie really reminded me off was 'Rosetta Stoned' by Tool. I wonder if the song was inspired by Roy here. Edit: Also none of the poeple in the movie are able to represent "humanity". It's Americans only.

Marcus Hicks

My train of thought was identical to Simone's re: Stan Lee....but when Ben Affleck got named, and when she asked what roles other than Marvel Movies Stan Lee had been in, all I could think of was Chasing Amy-because it was so comic focused. I wonder if I am correct.

Well I was wrong about Chasing Amy....but was definitely in the right ballpark.....but I got Dodge Ball straight away.

David Perkins

if i were to pick 3 people to represent earth and, since you didn't specify whether or not they had to be real or fictional, my first 2 would be Forrest Gump and Samwise Gamgee (Sam being a Hobbit remains eligible as a human creation!). my 3rd would be a gentleman named Ren Eryn Gill and is very much real. check him out and you'll figure out why!
