I’m assuming at this point ur fully caught up or nearly there. Was hoping when you started Ufotable would’ve at least announced the VOD release date for Infinity Castle. They have infamously made people wait an absurdly long time for digital releases, Mugen Train took like 8 months from Japanese release. Coupled with the fact that it’s only the first in a trilogy of films it sucks it’s gonna be an agonizing wait. Hope part 2 and 3 get real dates asap.

So fan subtitles exist for a multitude of reasons. The oldest reason is that back in the day many shows got no western release at all so it was up to fans. There's also some shows that would just take a long time to get released to the west so they would beat them to the punch. Then you companies that have genuinely bad translations because they don't have the budget to pay a good translation team so what you get is messy and muddled or gets the point across but loses the poetry of what people are saying. Then you have the show offs who do things like colorize the text of each character so it's all color coded and feels like it was mad specifically for the show. This is far more rare. Then there's personal and political reasons. Crunchyroll is working with companies that some people do not like because of the nation the company is based in as well as their exploration of AI. Amazon recently released a show called Banana Fish where the entire dub was AI translated and generated and it was truly terrible in a way I can't put into words. So there's a massive backlash against using AI in all aspects of anime and that's caused some old and i mean 20 year old subtitle groups to come out of retirement. Fan subs are also a legitimate way to get noticed and potentially get a job. They created the demand This is a tangent, but 20 years ago, the show Naruto would NOT have been as popular in the west if not for the subtitle group Dattebayo. They subtitled Naruto for YEARS growing their own fanbase of loyal followers who wanted their subs because the knew it'd be quality. Every sub culture has it's stand outs and that's a huge reason we still have fansubs.

Back then, I always thought by the time fan subs would go down in number due to more releases in the west, they would be replaced by something of equal quality. It was saddening when the quality of translations was not reaching the bar and even worse when the voice acting was just bad but you didn't even have access to the original JP version. Combine that with dialogue and visual censorship due to legal reasons in my country and because TV stations just HAD to push every show into the afternoon slots, no matter how appropriate or not, and it was just a recipe for disaster. I never fully moved away from fan subs and to hear that some groups are actually coming back thanks to the subpar western releases is good news to me.

Not sure if we can talk a little about the flowers or is a spoiler, there some fun facts about that. Just you know the flowers at the start of the ending on season 1, are the flowers Muzan is looking for, except that there are red for some reason.

You mentioned at the start that you dont know what subs are the right ones. My advice is that you always watch the official subs by watching your anime on official platforms like Crunchyroll. As long as you watch on the official platform patrons can easily overlay their own Crunchyroll videos and still get that same translation that you are also seeing. The reason why i didn't continue the Frieren reactions was because I couldn't find the same version of subs that you were watching. As long as the subs are the same for both you and the patrons you shouldn't get many complaints.

As far as fans are concerned, the elements do exist in the fighting styles because the author is really inconsistent, for instance, Muichiro fighting upper 5 and literally vanishing in mist. Simply swinging a sword isn't going to cause that or even how tanjiro burns demons when using sun breathing. The styles have elemental powers and we refuse to believe otherwise because the creator wrote it in a way that the elements do soemthing Also with the fake out, I didnt believe it but it didn't stop me from bawling my eyes out the entire time. I knew it was impossible because Nezuko is the reason this show exists though I did wonder if someone had the guts to kill off such an important character Aaand our main characters have powers of the five senses. Tanjiro scent, Zenitsu hearing, Inosuke touch, Genya taste, Nezuko badass

I’ll be honest I’m not sure what the confusion is with the element debate. From what I see the manga says: HE USES THE BREATH OF WATER, BUT THE WATER IS SO FAINT THAT YOU DON'T SEE IT. NOTE: SWORDSMEN DON'T ACTUALLY UNLEASH WATER ATTACKS. PEOPLE WHO SEE THIS JUST THINK THEY SEE AND FEEL IT. (I copied and pasted this so that’s why it’s in capitals) But that just tells me that they aren’t producing actual elements but people can see and feel it, that’s why Murata’s is that weak that it’s not visible. Demons say ‘I feel like there water’ and gyokku says ‘it’s LIKE he disappeared into a cloud of mist.’ It’s already been answered, demons and the slayers most likely can see and feel it it’s just not actual elements being produced

He literally couldnt see him, explain that. How does mist breathing suddnly make him invisible or sun breathing fake rainbow producing an after image?...why does sun breathing suddenly halt a demon's regeneration if its only a sword strike and nothing more? and water breathing being stronger under water? Water breathing water basin striking in multiple directions as water but it's only a single downward swing? flame undulation producing of wall of flames to block attacks even after the swing has ended and rengoku is standing still? Tengen producing a sonic roar with form one of sound breathing? Omg Giyu doesnt even swing his sword and dead calm just stops attacks. And zenitsu creates actual lightning. Its how his hair changed color, he got so overstimulated he brought the clouds that struck the tree and everyone always says they hear thunder clap when zenitsu attacks. inconsistent writing in every situation, the author didnt commit to it only being by name and style, they've been written as literal manifestations and it makes sense in a world where flipping demons exist

Yeah, Sniveling demon was a bad person all along. Is an inversion of the troupe of the demons of the show that we are feeling sorry for after watching their backstory, and in this case, the demon is asking sympathy over and over again even after doing despicable acts and just being pathetic after to win sympathy again, just lying and crying after with no remorse for his acts.

"People who see this just think they see and feel it", This is basically saying they are not creating elemental effects. The only demon slayer that actually has "Elemental Effects" is Tengen Uzui (sound hashira) who uses bombs to create explosions/fireworks.

Inconsistent writing. The author doesn't stick to what was supposed to be established. How the floo flam does tanjiro hear a thunder clap when he didn't even know zenitsu was fighting? How did Zenitsu generate thunder clouds if the elements have nothing to do with it? Explain these. Explain. Explain any of these
