Dibbles

Hell yes, best movie this week

TheLeftPecOfTheLord

A movie that’s always been divisive with people, but I’ve always loved since day 1. The action is absolutely top notch and rivals Wick at points

Alexrandom

I remember not liking this when it came out but I'll give it another chance. I did enjoy the third one but only because it was utterly ridiculous. Without spoiling anything the mix of emotional tones in the third one just didn't work for me and it kind of made it funny . I always enjoy getting a reaction from a film even if it is not the one intended. Hope this one is fun too this time !

ruinfox

Woohoo no corruption this time 😅

closetoyou28

as a danish person myself, ican understand some swedish and Eggsy said in swedish"this is really good. but he didn´t say it quite right that´s why the king said what he said.

Tay Schumaker

You’re thinking of the plot of the new Lethal Weapon. Took me way too long to remember which one it was too.

Kim Jong-un

I can't find Kingsman: The Secret Service on your website. But the edited version is on youtube.

Jordan Hume

Man this movie was such a bummer. It had some cool scenes and good action, but the whole amnesia thing was extremely silly and annoying and the music festival thing with the girl was silly and a bit cringy as well. I did like the last part of the movie though. It had some fun action sequences. I just really wish some of the plot elements weren't so goofy.

blerbaberpaterb

....they literally explain in this very video what happened to the first one... and the description of the first movies post on patreon also explains it.....that the files got corrupted and the yt cut is literally what was salvaged...

Jordan Hume

Yeah, you're right. And I know it used to be on there because I watched it on there before. Weird...

blerbaberpaterb

....no i think theyre thinking of the new naked gun...in that very reaction they said 'this is exactly the plot of kingsman secret service"....

Tay Schumaker

Jesus I meant naked gun and typed lethal weapon for some reason. Sheesh. I’ll leave it up so people don’t think you’re crazy

blerbaberpaterb

....lol thats good... i was about to ask did i miss the release of lethal weapon 5 or something since you said new... haha....

Kim Jong-un

I am not watching this video though so that doesnt really help :) I just found the info on the old youtube edit video from 3 years ago

Twiska Brand

The next movie is The King's Man and I really like it but I know some people don't. I suggest you guys do it. Also, I know a lot of people didn't really like this movie but I never got the hate.

Twiska Brand

It's ironic but when ever I hear Saturday Night nowadays, I think of Taron Edgerton's amazing cover of it.

OddThomas

This one was a little *too* silly. I actually preferred the prequel The King's Man more. Stardust is Matthew Vaughn's best film imo

OddThomas

Talking of Samuel L. Jackson: The Long Kiss Goodnight! And Logan Lucky is a great movie

OddThomas

Yeah, same with his film Argyle; it has some great stuff in there but it's all dialled up a little too high

Jordan Hume

Cool, thanks. I didn't watch this one because I don't like the second movie and I didn't look at the post on Patreon because I pretty much always use their site except for when I get a Patreon notification about a new video dropping (like this one). So yeah, it's great you knew all that. Not everybody knows the same things you know, so thanks for sharing.

blerbaberpaterb

....except what you said has nothing to do with knowing or not knowing....you made a claim saying youve seen the full version on their site even though it never existed....that claim has nothing to do with who knows what info...you just decided to lie for no reason.... ...and if your claim becomes 'i just missed remembered'... then why are you so defensive about me telling you that it doenst exist and you must've miss remembered....?

Jordan Hume

Yeah, the King's Man was definitely better than this one, but overall it was kind of meh in comparison to the original movie. The Golden Circle could have been really good, but they did what I've noticed that a lot of other movie makers always do which is to think that, if something was well liked in the first movie, let's go even bigger in the second movie! But no. No, no, no. Just write a good movie. Don't try to make it better than the original (unless the original sucked or something). Just try and make it good. If movie makers could get that through their heads, we'd have more great movie sequels instead of what we usually get, which is 10 crummy sequels for every good one.

Jordan Hume

It was ok. It was definitely better than the Golden Circle, but overall it was kind of meh in comparison to the original.

Jordan Hume

I just do not understand how they could think the whole amnesia and butterfly thing was a good idea to write into those one... Like, how do you write that and think "Yeah, people love goofy amnesia stories and people love spies that used to love studying butterflies!". The only way that could have possibly been good was if those was one of those silly spoof comedies. Then it would have been so ridiculous that it would have been funny. But for them to have tried and pulled that off in an actual movie is just beyond me. It really annoys me because there were done good elements to this movie and had they just continued what they did in the first movie, it could have been great.

Jordan Hume

Yeah, the action scenes are always on point in his movies, no doubt. But the amnesia/butterfly thing was extremely dumb and just annoying. That and some of the other goofier aspects just really left a lot of us scratching our heads as to what they were thinking. The first movie had plenty of silly spy tropes, but they were done really well without going too far over the line so as to make our eyes roll. In this one though, they just went too far overboard and it didn't work very well. It came off as goofy and a bit cringey.

Alexrandom

To be completely honest I'm not a fan of the first one either. It's miles better than this one that's for sure. I just have a problem with this whole franchise 😅 To me it tries to be edgy while never actually doing anything truly offensive or really fun. It feels a bit bland. To each their own 😉

JBK405

'A gentle face'. Y'know that never ocured to me, but I can't disagree. I'm one of the ones who thinks this is a step down from the first movie, but it's still enjoyable. I love how they followed up on Eggsy's romance with Princess Tilde, because in the first movie it looked so much like "James Bond ends the fim having sex with the Woman of the Week who we never see again" and expected the same joke. But nope, they're DATING! There was a minor controversy regarding the title when it first came out, because "Knights of the Golden Circle" was a pro-slavery secret society in the USA before the civil war. It advocated invading Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and the northern parts of South America to set up a slavery-society. Obviously that never happened, but the secret society has been called the 'model' for the KKK after the civil war. Apparently the title is a coincidence.

Dibbles

Said no one, it's the best out of the trilogy

megamoo chilli

Ok silly movie with cartoon logic but I can't stop wondering why all the drug users dying would cause whiskey stocks to rise? It's not like drug users will be switching to alcohol... because they're dead. This is the motivation for Pedro to be a villain and end up in the mincer. And people who want to do drugs are going to source them somewhere, uncontaminated. I can't take Channing Tatum seriously. He always looks about to break into a comedy bit.

Kate

For another Colin Firth movie, Bridget Jones Diary is a fun one!

Donna Castellano

I liked it because of the time period it takes place in. I've studied that particular conflict since I was a Sophomore in high school, well over 30 years now.

Jonathan Eaton

The song playing during the fight in the cab is from the movie Purple Rain (1984)

Darren Harrison

I agree. I like the twist on an alternate universe version of WWI. It is definitely better if you know the actual history of Russia and WWI to see how they took real facts, incidents, and people and went wild with it.

Jeff Smith

The king’s speech is fantastic as well

Kate

They've already reacted to The King's Speech :)

Ari Ramirez

random pedro pascal jumpscare

John

It's been a while since I've seen this. It' was fun. Another aspect of fiction is that the President of the US would never be arrested and in handcuffs. The current policy of the Department of Justice is the sitting President can't be indicted for a crime. They would have to be impeached and convicted before they could be arrested.

Dragonhunter

Yeah, I hated that they brought Harry back. Harry dying in the first movie was a great shock and them just being able to bring him back was just lame and ruined that scene afterwards.

michael cross

You guys should do brothers grimsby (also known as just grimsby depending where you look) its with sasha cohen and mark strong. Its a really raunchy comedy but i love it. Is a great duo IMO. One of my favorites.

Jordan Hume

Yeah, that too. And, if they did bring him back, the whole amnesia thing was really dumb. At least they could have just had him severely injured, in a coma, and maybe giving Eggsy advice or something. The amnesia butterfly story was just insulting to the audience.

michael cross

Also fun fact i found out around when you did the WANTED movie. Atleast in the graphic novel WANTED and kingsmen are canonically in the same universe

Philipp Roensch

The American spy club should have been: The Cow's Boys. They took even more from Bond with this one, now even all the cheese! I fear it did a bit too much digital though, kinda loose reality with the bots and impossible gadgets. I would normally not bemoan them, but it is outrageous how every plot complication gets moved by something out of left field. Also, America had more single people cages ready than hospital beds? Fox celebrating an impeachment? (Sorry, that got too current again) I like the third one more, still silly and achronistic to history, but somewhow the setting works. There is more Elton John to be had, with Taron Edgerton as it happens, we need another musical poll for Rocketman.

djKENTO

So there is a 3rd film, it’s a prequel called The King’s Man and it stars Ralph Fiennes. It dials up the cartoonishness far beyond the first two. Matthew Vaughn also directed another spy movie called Argylle that is tangentially related but I won’t say how. Recently the creator of the Kingsmen comics did a giant crossover of all his properties so now Kingsmen, Kick-Ass, Wanted and others are all in the same universe and interact. It’s a very wild read. Especially if you’ve never read the Wanted comics and only know the movie cuz the lead in the movie is a villain and is the big bad guy of the entire series.

djKENTO

Except the Wanted comics and movie have almost nothing in common. The hero of the Wanted film is a villain in the comics and is the big bad of the Millar-verse. They did a giant cross over and he’s the main villain. Total piece of shit. Irredeemable. Shocked they made a movie about him.

Sam

To your question about talking to the spouse, usually their families think they just work in the government in some capacity, agencies don't allow agents to reveal that information to anyone. In other words, those conversations would never happen, usually, not even after the agent retires.

Jay Johnson

is "Eggsy" supposed to be a play on Excalibur?

REDR58

Purple Rain might make for an interesting reaction here.

REDR58

Unless I see otherwise, I'll give Matthew Vaughn a pass for that controversy as, being British, he likely had never known about that secret society and there association of the name.

REDR58

These movies have a fantastic soundtrack, especially the opening theme music and other orchestral tracks. Eggsy's cab is a 2011 LTC TX4 and I'd love to know exactly how that drifting setup with the extra gearshift fits in there! The Alexandra Road Estate that Eggsy’s friends live in is a real location: www.youtube.com/watch?v=30AYn_kc0Co Eggsy drives a 1964 (or 1965?) Jaguar E-Type 4.2 FHC Series I. I’m very annoyed that Roxy/ Lancelot (Sophie Cookson) was killed off here. “Kingsman: The Secret Service” was her first major movie. Emily Watson who plays the President’s Chief of Staff was in “Red Dragon” as Reba the blind woman and in “Chernobyl.” The Statesman Building in New York City is the real MetLife Building, originally the Pan Am Building (with the name on the top changed to “Statesman”). In the MCU, Stark Tower/Avenger Tower is built on this location with part of the base resembling the real MetLife building: www.reddit.com/r/MovieDetails/comments/b7vn9r/in_the_marvel_cinematic_universe_starkavengers/ I guess Stark partially disassembled the MetLife building to use as a base for Stark Tower much like the former Fort Wood is used as the star-shaped base for the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal: https://www.nps.gov/places/000/fort-wood.htm Look up #bluerash on Instagram or elsewhere online. When Eggsy calls Tilde you can hear John Denver’s “Annie’s Song” (1974, which Denver had written for his then-wife, Annie Martell) in the background: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNOTF-znQyw Merlin mentioned John Denver earlier in the movie as one of his (or most) favorite country music singers. Elton John is very funny in this movie! No US president would ever act as malevolent as we see in this movie! 😐 The rotating cable car, the Skyway Monte Bianco is real: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V055PF5enZA The tracked "troop carrier" is a real Swedish vehicle, a Hägglunds Bv 206, an unarmored tracked vehicle designed to cross snow without sinking in it. It is also amphibious. Armored variants exist and these vehicles are used by a number of countries, including Canada and the US. Whiskey’s “Silver Pony” jet fighter is a Lockheed Martin–Boeing F-22 Raptor. You can see Merlin‘s body fly in the air after the mine detonates. In reality he would likely in pieces. I wonder if we saw his body like this as an out to possibly bring him back in a third movie, as usually in movies like this when a heroic character is killed by an explosion, the body is typically obscured. Briefcase guns or “operational briefcases” are absolutely a real thing. Here are 2 different types: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC3F9Paa7aE www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CH-5kY5w2Q Eggsy’s mother, Michelle Unwin (Samantha Womack here and in “The Secret Service”) was briefly seen at the wedding, but she had no lines. I really wish there was a third of these movies with Egerton and Firth.

REDR58

We could watch Archer here!

REDR58

Oh and Pedro Pascal's "Jack Daniels" carries a pair of Colt Single Action Army revolvers with some kind of second barrel or other attachment for who knows what under the main barrel. If it is supposed to be some sort of dual-firing barrel arrangement I have no idea how that could work. The hammer could not strike the bullets' primers at the same time as there is simply no way for the hammer to move that deeply into the gun, or perhaps there is somehow a second hammer? But the underbarrel never seems to fire anything, so who knows. It's very interesting, though. I wonder if it was for a deleted scene.

Jethro Divine

Sorry to bother but I can't seem to find some of the older reaction videos anywhere anymore, such as Forrest Gump, also possibly The Boys S1 and One Punch Man S2 (if they ever existed as a reaction). I hope that they didn't simply disappear without your knowledge if they were avaliable before. Love your work!

Lars Ickenroth

The Elton-sideway kick had me in stitches when this hit the cinemas. It's so good.

blerbaberpaterb

.....theyve said a few times before that those were taken down by copyright...not like a youtube kind but a lawyer kind so its gone-gone....

REDR58

He is a lot of fun in this movie.

Michael Kemmet

Merlin had to die to be reincarnated as Trent Ikithon. ;) (that one's for Simone)

Scoobay

Well, everyone’s family who died would be hitting the bottle. Probably not the logic they were going for though. It would be more of a “this is the only vice that’s safe” type thing, so big corps would invest etc.

Scoobay

I don’t think Eggsy was a drug dealer in the first movie. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t remember him doing that. I think he was just a typical lower class street kid. I’m not gonna try and discourage you from watching the prequel, but it does have a straight-to-DVD quality about it. I couldn’t finish it.

BoredLittleLady

I’ve never seen the third Kingsman movie but I know there is one. I wonder if it’s any good.

Agent Michael Scarn

Isn't all denim and a cowboy hat actually a Canadian tuxedo? At least in Calgary.
