Kinda bummed yall just skipped the Knuckles show.

Christian Da Silva

I'd like to comment early that you guys are missing one of the best Jim Carrey movies out there from 1996 (his peak era) called "The Cable Guy" and I am hoping you can add it to your list. It's a dark comedy, something you haven't seen before in the channel. Please check that out!

Carlos

And soon to be a 4th

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Enjoyed this instalment the most out of all three films! Has a great pace, good heartfelt moments and is a genuinely fun time! Hope they continue onto greater heights with the 4th film! Oh and if I can indulge a quick aside: sitting next to an older brother in the theatre that’s a pro game designer who adores this franchise inside-out was a fun experience! Seeing the dude get a kick out of the callbacks and design easter eggs made for a fun time haha. Anyways hope everybody enjoys the movie/rewatch ☺️

Lloyd Franklin

Sonic 3 is my favourite, Sonic 2 is my least favourite of the trilogy.

newhastings

i would be remised if i didnt mention that in sonic adventure 2 maria’s death is even worse bc she gets straight up shot by a gun agent its insane

Lloyd Franklin

From what I've heard Jim Carrey's grandchild convinced him to return for the third film.

TheFool

By far the best of the 3!

Jeb Manning

Since you're wrapping up the Sonic movies, I hope that means we can get reactions to Detective Pikachu and The Super Mario Bros. Movie soon after too. They're so much fun and really good video game movies as well.

Zaj

The previous movie didn't have enough Jim Carrey, so what's better than having some Jim Carrey? Two Jim Carreys

Thomas Larsen

Haha we are at "generic health tips" intros now XD

Dustin Duvall

All 3 sonics before bad boys 2 is a gut punch 😆 jk. Kinda

Dustin Duvall

Detective Pikachu was surprisingly great and made me want a bunch more live action Pokémon movies, and I'm not even a Pokémon fan lol

Dustin Duvall

I randomly reenact the, "oh billy" scene way too often

Zen Reacts

So theres tons of sonic comics and also shows. You guys should definitely check out the Knuckles show that takes place between the 2nd and 3rd movies

Zen Reacts

Also it makes more sense for Amy to be in the next movie since her and Metal Sonic were introduced in the same game

ZachBrickowski

Agreed that this is the best in the trilogy. You’ll be happy to hear that Jim Carrey is indeed returning for the fourth film as well as Keanu! As well as some other new big names. Quite an impressive cast and I’m very hyped. Fun fact, in the original story this is based on, Shadow was fully intended to be a one time character who died in that story. They decided to bring him back because he got more popular than they could’ve imagined. A decision I’m still glad about to this day since I can’t imagine the franchise without him. If you’re ever curious about trying the games, I’d recommend the likes of Sonic X Shadow Generations as a great entry point.

Sean Hennessy

The Black/Red hair is really working for Simone.

Morion Williams

"Time to go back to the planet as cool and blue as me"

Morion Williams

Live and Learn is the main song from sonic adventure 2 that introduced shadow the hedgehog.

UNC

Sonic 3 before Godfather 3..

Raven Blackrose

Fun fact: the game is a lot darker. Maria (SPOILER FOR AN OLD GAME) is directly shot by the soldiers. Then Gerald is executed by firing squad.

Job Lopez

I believe that was the worst Pokémon adaptation movie lol and I was a die hard Pokemon Fan in the 2000s

Hatty Time

This is the best one in the trilogy but I wish they kept the original Gerald Robotnik storyline. He was a humanitarian and did great good for mankind, but was strong armed by the government to work for them. He only willingly helped because he thought he could also find a way to solve his granddaughter's condition. In the end, the government tried to cover up the project and silence anyone that participated in it, which ended with a soldier shooting Maria. Gerald went mad and came to the conclusion that humanity does not deserve to exist if such cruelty remains for good people like him and take away his granddaughter. It would have made for an interesting contrast for the film to show even good people like Gerald can succumb to despair and Shadow trying to rise above that despair.

Em Connor

I saw the thumbnail and for a second thought Simone had gotten adventurous with her hair color! 😄 it does suit her!

G0d_Ginrai

Would love to see you react to ‘Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings’ It’s an animated prologue to the game ‘Sonic X Shadow Generations’ and it’s not even 15mins long but goes far harder than something like it needs to. The game itself even has a DLC based on Sonic 3 where you play as the Movie version of Shadow and he’s voiced by Keanu Reeves during it.

OddThomas

I thought 2 was just okay so I hadn't seen 3 until now and it might be my favourite. It wrapped things up so perfectly, why make a 4?

OddThomas

For more Keanu please watch the Matrix sequels!

Mastervodo

If AI could re-create the Robotnik dance replacing them with Simone and George - I might not be so mad at it taking over the world.

Thall

To paraphrase Dragonball Z Abdriged for the time they talked to each other on the moon: "Thank god we're in the part of space that has air."

Ari Ramirez

I get the feeling George may enjoy the Yakuza game series

BoredLittleLady

George, your excitement for the actress that plays Jessica Jones makes me want to recommend Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) it’s a guilty pleasure movie for me. Simone, your excitement to Keanu Reeves voice makes me want to recommend Toy Story 4 (2019). :D

OddThomas

A great Krysten Ritter movie where she plays an evil witch: Nightbooks

Ravenbythesea

Shadow is always such a tragic character I love him. Games focused on him are always so good uhhh plotwise at least. In the OG series Gerald was put to death by GUN long before the current events of canon but he had it set that the canon could be activated by Shadow after his death. Maria had an extreme autoimmune disorder he'd brought her to his lab to try and cure by making evolved living cells. His first creation went berserk and his second creation was Shadow. GUN invaded the lab they were in wanting to use Shadow as a weapon, the soldiers shot Maria through the chest infront of him as she allowed him to escape. He was hunted down and trapped for 50 years before Eggman woke him up. This is all in the game Sonic adventure 2. If you guys ever want to check out more Shadow highly rec watching the short "Shadow: Dark Beginnings" its a really well animated scene of his story set before the most recent game he was in.

Maiki

Finish a franchise poll when? Maybe a top 2?

Brandon

I was consistently impressed with this trilogy. Which is weird, because I'm not a big fan of the Sonic games. I liked the Genesis games when I was a kid in the 90's, but I don't think even those ones hold up too well. On the other hand, I've been playing and loving Mario games my entire life and the animated movie from a few years ago wasn't so great IMO. From what I've heard so far, I'll probably like the sequel even less.

Simone's Coconut Squire

George: “I can’t believe they’d have the talking magical hedgehogs doing something as unscientific as communicating without an atmosphere!”

IzanagiAce

Because there's so much Sonic stuff that can be covered that is equally as great

FranciscoGios

In one of Jim Carrey’s interviews he was asked, if the studio would make another Sonic film would he be interested in coming back if his character was in that movie? Jim responded by saying if the character’s Doctor Robotnik story feels good, he is open to negotiations.

REDR58

I've never played any Sonic or other Sega games, having grown up with Nintendo and Super Nintendo, but I enjoyed Sonic 1 and 3 quite a bit, but found 2 to be something of a real drag.

REDR58

Wow. Sega can be *dark*!

REDR58

Normally, I would complain about the silliness of having lights on a rifle as we seen the opening scene, but this is a video game movie. I really liked the “hoomans” caption translation from Ozzy the Dog at the party! Krysten Ritter is in a fantastic movie called "The Hero" (2017) with Sam Elliott (from "Roadhouse, "Tombstone" and "The Big Lebowski") and Nick Offerman. Stone is played by Lebanese-Canadian actor Lee Majdoub. Seeing the teleportation in action here we really need to get a portal movie. "1.21 gigawatts"...George "Back to the Future"! The flashback scene showing the explosion blowing out of the exterior entrance of the underground G.U.N. base has a pair of period-appropriate vehicles, the Jeep-like Ford M151 MUTT and the larger AM General M35A2 truck. However, the 2 larger rescue vehicles (a 1984 Chevrolet CUCV M-1010 and a 1999 Oshkosh P-23 fire truck) that pull up near them afterwards are far too modern for the scene. This anachronism is interesting since the filmmakers bothered to get the 2 older vehicles. Australian actor Alyla Browne who plays Maria was also in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” which also released in 2024. The song that plays during the scene with Maria and Shadow is The Traveling Wilburys' “End of the Line” featuring George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, (who had died before the video linked below was produced and thus his photograph and empty rocking chair with his guitar are seen) and Tom Petty: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMVjToYOjbM The stargazing scene with Maria reminds me of the similar scene in “The Impossible." The movie night movie that Sonic reminds Knuckles about that had scary ghosts was “Casper” (1995) with Christina Ricci!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSpfex_e5Io I like how Stone is wearing a tie with no shirt on underneath under his blazer after Robotnik rips off the fabric. During the plan in London scene there is a reference to “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” (2005) with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie which you should watch! It’s fun that they mention Pokemon which is partly owned by Nintendo, one of Sega’s biggest competitors, especially back in the day. One minor criticism, for as excellent as the visual effects are, especially of the different hedgehogs look, some of the blue screen shots in London and elsewhere look so fake. Maybe it’s the lighting. I don’t know. This movie is much funnier, and better, than part 2. I really enjoyed this one quite a bit.

Brandon

Yeah, I think those 3 games, plus Sonic and Knuckles are pretty good. They just don't hold a candle to Mario 3 or Mario World at all.

Swede for the table

I would be SO happy if they did a fourth one with jim carrey! I really liked this one! And like george said, the nihilist part was refreshing!

spam trash

And she already had what was basically mega cancer so she was dying anyways. Plus her grandfather was basically tortured after.

newhastings

good news, he's doing it

Psyclopath

Women in the military, hah!

Data Cable

We need a Worf/Knuckles/Drax buddy road trip movie.

Angela D. Mitchell

At the very end, when Sonic says (paraphrasing) that if you try to beat the fastest creature in the universe, you better win -- it reminded me of "You come at the king, you best not miss" from The Wire. Since this has Idris and other pop culture references galore, I wondered if it was deliberate. Meanwhile, I thought this was clever and well-done, and that Keanu did a great job with the voice work for Shadow. It was definitely the most genuinely heartfelt of the trilogy, and I especially respected that they didn't pull punches. Shadow is a truly tragic character. And Carrey had so much fun, every moment was ridiculously entertaining. It was interesting how little James Marsden there was, though!

Tony Wirt

Cause Sonic as a franchise has more than just Knuckles, Tails, and Shadow, as shown by the fact that we’re just now getting to Amy and M. Sonic, not even mentioning the other known characters like Rouge, Cream, Big, etc.

Holdenk

You definitely need to watch Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events. Jim Carey plays like 12 different characters in that. Well, technically it's on character playing a dozen characters

RJ aka LEMental

If you are looking for something to watch until Sonic 4 comes out then I might suggest the Knuckles series.
