You should definitely watch some of Kane Pixel’s Backroom shorts before the movie. They are connected.

newhastings

Man, idk if i can enjoy that backrooms reaction unless someone explicitly mentions how old the director is…

TheLeftPecOfTheLord

Oh yeah Backrooms! I absolutely loved it, a really inventive debut from Kane Parsons with immaculate performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve. Great week ahead!

Dibbles

Never saw the hype for the Lackrooms tbh

Alexrandom

Backroom and the Patriot! Great week 🙂

KyloJames

Backrooms and Octopussy!!! Nice

MostLime

Amazing! Wishing for A Silent Voice here someday.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Ah yes that James Bond movie has arrived haha. This week’s TNG also has a personal top rewatch episode which will be good fun. Some great cinematography in The Patriot too - a hallmark of Edward Zwick period films that are always wonderful to see. Fun week ahead legends

Zen Reacts

Any word on when youll do Infinity Castle?

sb

Must see the duo's take on Backrooms.

Simon

Backrooms and Octopussy, can’t wait!

Matrim

I knew The Patriot would win, but I’m still somewhat disappointed. It’s a fine enough movie, but it’s hard to enjoy Mel Gibson these days, plus it’s about as historically accurate as Braveheart, which is to say “not very.”

aidangreen

Can’t wait for Whitecaps

Cinebinge

recording today, cant promise anything on delivery time, entirely depending on luck with copyright scan bots and re-edits required after.

funky weapon

So does octopussy mean she's got eight limbs or eight cats

Aatxe

Oof. While fun, The Patriot has so much cringe. Especially when you learn about the real life inspiration for Gibsons character.

Mastervodo

An Octopus that looks like a cat.

Mastervodo

Will this one be as fun as the one with Pussy Galore?

Korpse

I said the same thing 😂

Jeff K.

Same. It's an entertaining movie, but has next to zero basis in actual history, and again, the whole Mel of it all taints it on rewatches for me. But hey, I'll take any chance to watch Chris Cooper and Heath Ledger. And Jason Isaacs absolutely DEVOURS the scenery.

Stefan Daniw

WARNING The Patriot is not a true story.

Alexrandom

I just love him as a director so much! Apocalypto is crazy. I hope they get to it someday. He's also great as an actor. Too bad about the personal shit but I can kind of set it aside when watching.

Jeromy M

Nice weekend schedule. My heart is still holding out for Wind River

newhastings

Can’t imagine it happening any time soon but would be awesome if G&S checked out Sentimental Value, seeing Renate and Stellan Skarsgaard play off each other amazingly

REDR58

I kind of wish they would watch the Backrooms on YouTube first, or with the movie. They’re not exactly long videos.

Darren Harrison

Yes, we are finally getting " Octopussy " :) I hope George and Simone are in an OTT mood when they see it because that movie is absurdly entertaining. There's also A LOT of 1980s cultural references that have gone over the top of other reaction channels covering it. Without giving anything away, world-famous tennis champion Vijay Amritraj appears, who was very recognizable in 1983 but has slipped into obscurity today. That leads to a lot of tennis jokes that have flown right over the heads of other reactors. I have purposefully avoided "The Patriot" for decades because I always heard it was wildly inaccurate.

jmundt33a

He does it so well, you barely notice Tom Wilkinson. Adam Baldwin drops in for a bit. So does the bloke from Sliding Doors. This feels like the kind of story that certain segments wish to believe all of US history is.

Panda Animation

I’m pretty sure you guys are aware of this, but the Demon Slayer movie, the infinity castle is already out! ❤️

Tom B

Backrooms!!!!!

s0rd3z

Cat with eight legs

Adam X. Luke

the patriot of all god damn things 🤦‍♂️

Ginger

I didn't think you'do watch Backrooms because it's A24.

Matt Dellarosa

Looking forward to Backrooms. Heres a driveby movie recommendation for you. Please add In the Line of Fire to the list. Great movie. You'll love it.

blerbaberpaterb

that hasnt been an issue for a while? they did the witch not long ago, x, pearl, maxxxine...

Mikey Sea

She should just pretend that Sean Connery is back. Then she can call it 'Octopushy.'

D.A.V.E.

That's a shame, Banshees is a special film, but hay ho I've never seen the Patriot so I'm ready to enjoy a few hours of Mel Gibson I assume revenging against my evil fellow countryman 🇬🇧 🤣 we make good historical bad guys... for good reason.

Ken Veader

Mel Gibson is awesome these days and is a great actor and filmmaker

Brien

Backrooms!!! They are real btw..

ZachBrickowski

Backrooms is probably my favorite of the year so far. Can’t wait!

Dev Zeno

so what about infinity castle

Kenji Kita

Never saw the hype for Dibbles opinion tbh

Brandon

Recommending 'Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die' as I think you guys would really like it.

REDR58

I've solved the Mel Gibson problem by not having seen anything new of his since 2000's "What Women Want" (date movie). Meh. The Patriot is an easy pass for me.

Matt Blanchette

Makes CANADIANS watch it violates the Geneva Conventions, I'm sure.

Matt Blanchette

ALL I WANTED WAS A BRIEF DISTRACTION FOR AN HOUR OR TWO... :-D

CouchCheese

I agree they should watch Kane's Backroom shorts, but only AFTER having watched the movie. It's a matter of opinion of course, but I'd rather they approach the film knowing as little about it as possible. Being on the internet for a while though I'm sure they're aware of the liminal spaces concept and I think that's enough context.

CouchCheese

Yay Backrooms! Yay Octopussy! Meh The Patriot.

John Smith

"This week’s TNG also has a personal top rewatch episode..." Haha. I think everyone has "re-watched" this episode at least four times. (edit) Bonus points if you can name all the cards dealt in the poker game.

TurnerK

Hellya good week! I'm sure Apocalypto has been mentioned at some point. Super good

nossieboy

Your choice of picture for Deliverance lol...

Robert Carroll

We're inching ever closer to Dalton! The Living Daylights is my 2nd favorite Bond film.

Ginger

nice :)

Raven Blackrose

Backrooms and Bond, good week. Less so The Patriot. Damnit.

Kenny240

We took my niece to see Backrooms in the theater. It was her first Rated R movie (yes, her mom was aware and was the one who asked us to take her). Everyone really enjoyed it. It wasn’t what I expected!

Kenny240

I agree. Also, if I’m not mistaken, once it’s on the release schedule, it’s likely already been filmed/watched.

UnlicensedOkie

The Patriot? FUCK YEAH One of my top 25 favorite movies of all time.

Matt Blanchette

George -- for series, "ORPHAN BLACK". You will not regret it. :-)

Frank

I don't recall it being this controversial. Is it just bc of Mel or does it try and say it's super accurate? Genuinely asking.

Kwazimoto69

Will The Patriot be theatrical 2h45min cut or the extended 2h55min cut?I only own one of the two lol

NSane

I don't think it's a great movie, but I don't get disliking it, only because Mel Gibson seems to be a bad person in real life. You can enjoy art, without liking the person who had a part in creating it, at least as long as it's not reflected in their art. And I don't remember the movie claiming to be a "real story" or anything like that. But I'm not american, so maybe Mel Gibson's part is a really famous american, that all americans know about, or something...

Andrew

Oh man I can’t wait for tomorrow and your Backrooms reaction. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I really don’t care for horror movies but this one stuck with me. I only watched it because I watched the reaction of another one of my favorite reaction channels.

Matthew Scott

Will you be doing the Bond side quest of watching Never Say Never Again next, or are you moving straight on to A View To A Kill?
