I love how everyone is getting the idea of war is so futile and when it starts, no one really know what’s gonna happen… every time I watch these episodes it reminds me of the 12th Doctor’s speech to the Humans and Zygons in Doctor Who—- here’s a part of it: “… When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know who's children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken! How many lives shattered! How much blood will spill until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning -- sit down and talk!”. To me, the world of AOT, like many other worlds, feels like one that should have a Doctor, but doesn’t—by some cruel fate or tragic circumstance—- and then, consequences are seen.

I always find incredible how the show makes everyone (at least who watches the show properly) dig deeper into their personal beliefs and moral standards while judging a single line or a scene. You guys were cheering from seeing Paradis people again, then it clicked that it's basically the first assault of Shiganshina just with reversed roles, I applaud you for immediately recognizing Gabi's role and parallels to Eren. There are people who watched the whole show and still don't get Gabi and her value in the show.

You mentioned that you might’ve missed some of the other Scouts in the background of the previous episodes, and there’s one you might’ve not realized. Everything in this show is deliberate for the most part, so even if you go back and rewatch the first few season 1 episodes, you’ll even see Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt among the refugees entering the Walls after they breached it.

Legacy

It’d be cool to see you react to one of those “Everything You Missed” videos after you finish the series, because there are so many little details and layers to this show. It’s crazy how much more sense everything makes on a rewatch when you know the full picture, compared to how chaotic it all feels the first time around.
