Disagree. Die Hard: With a Vengeance is superior to 2 in every way. I know this, you know this, everyone knows this.

Lose 20-25% of the hostages and consider that acceptable? Yes. The U.S. Government (especially the FBI) would totally accept that and make that decision.

Ooo, a bonus that came with binging through your "uncovered" videos... back when I first subscribed and watched your reaction to "Die Hard", I hadn't played Cyberpunk 2077 yet so didn't get the multiple references by George.

A timely seasonal choice. As for how far into the franchise you can/should venture there are naturally going to be dissenting opinions, but personally i would stop at the second one at the most. There's a reason the Die Hard franchise was an obvious inspiration in the creation of 'Tugg Speedman', Ben Stiller's character Tropic Thunder - which by the way is a hilarious movie you definitely should add to your watch list - and his fictional 'Scorcher' franchise. Die Hard is a lightning in a bottle classic, but for that very reason it was, at least in my opinion, never meant to be made into a franchise. Plot repetition and overall quality drop set in pretty damn hard and fast with those movies. Oh and before i forget one small nitpick (because i'm ocd like that): the music playing when the vault opened wasn't Christmas music, it was Ludvig Beethoven's famous 9th symphony aka The Ode to Joy. Which is fitting on so many levels, including that Hans and his gang are predominantly Germans.

In an interview John McTiernan said that all of Han's crew wore the same watch. The script called for a scene where they synced watches and you would see that, but he removed it so that you could come to your own conclusions about how John knew. Also this was Alan Rickman's first feature film.

Great great reaction as always :) "Western movie".... took me a while to figure that one out LOL When they recorded the drop from the building they actually dropped Rickman (just not from that hight). They told him they would count to 3 and then drop him, and then they dropped him on 2, so he was totally unprepared for it. Hence the good reaction. Die Hard 2 has much of the same "feel" as this one and is definitely worth watching. The only one that I would say really fails is the last one from 2013 (A good day to die hard). 3&4 are very different from the first 2. Please hurry to watch #2 and make sure you'll order extra cheese :) 9 out of 10 robber/terrorists brings cheese. Ohhh and Bruce Willis is a dad in "Friends"

Michael_AP

ohhh and if you wanna watch a great "bromance" movie then I suggest Lethal Weapon

I agree that you should watch 2 and stop there, its the law of diminishng returns from then on.

This whole franchise is amazing until the last one. I pretend "a good day to die hard" doesnt exsist. But the one prior to that "live free and die hard" may be my personal favorite.
