Maybe the person who wrote that book didn't want school students to have the knowledge of how to make a potion so deadly it'd kill an entire class with one drop. haha

You raised a great point about a potential Dumbledore imposter. In the book, Dumbledore actually brought it up with Harry about trusting who he say he was, and to make sure they have some facts they can check with each other. One thing I really don't like about the films adaptation is that they can freely turn into wisp and fly around.. Edit* Seeing you have already seen all of it. I gotta say this. Dumbledore actually has a rough idea what are the items the Horcruxes will be, by exploring Voldemort's past. Its really quite interesting OH ONE LAST THING. Snape ALWAYS writes on the board when he teaches potions for the students to follow So he knows the books provided doesn't have the best way to do stuff. Hermione has always excelled because she followed Snape's direction in Potions. LAST LAST THING. The love potions will make sense if we saw the memories of Voldemort's mom using love potion to seduce his dad, Thomas Riddle. Voldemort was born under the influence of the love potion. The mom eventually stopped giving the potion and his dad left them immediately. Voldy basically went back and murdered the entire riddle family, and his mom's family before stealing the ring and made it into a Horcrux.

The sex jokes are getting really, really, really old.

lol at ..... thats enough out of you lol

i was so in shock and disbelief when dumbledore died in the book

I think the stuff with the goofy girlfriend of Ron's ... all has to do with the preperation to tone. The last hour of this film is VERY dark, and has one of the biggest moments of the series. Because of that, they give you the first half of the film with a lighter tone, some humor, and reinforce that these are just teenagers doing teenager things. Does the joke run on a little bit? Yeah. But in hindsight it was appreciated that there was some levity before the Dumbledore stuff.

The portrait of Dumbledore was shown sleeping as it has just happened, as many other portraits they will start moving later on

To answer some questions and help you guys out: - Dumbledore trusted Snape deeply, probably more so than any one else, so his betrayal means a lot. In a lot of ways Snape was Dumbledores deepest confidante. - This is not made as clear in the movie as in the books, but Dumbledore is considered to be the wisest and most powerful wizard, the only wizard that Voldi truly feared, so his death was considered really, really bad. In the movies this is not made as clear, but in the books, Dumbledore completely humiliated Voldi in their dual in the ministry, which is the reason why Voldi tried to have him assassinated. - The creatures in the Cave are called Inferi, they are reanimated corpses killed by Voldi (Necromancy), they are immune to most magic except for fire magic, hence the firestorm cast by Dumbledore, fire being an exceptionally difficult element to conjure and control. - Dumbledore is really gone, and it the books it is made very clear, that nothing can bring a person back from the dead. - Snape is the half-blood prince because his father was a muggle. - They don't have internet, because its not really a big thing yet, the series takes place in the 90's, Harry was born in 1980, although I am not sure if wizard would really bother with the internet.

The film did a poor job on stuff like the love potion. There is a whole chapter about how Voldemort was born, because his mother poisened his dad Tom Riddle sr. with a love potion, and because the love was fake, Voldemort grew up to be a psychopath, because his genes never knew love or friendship. As for Snape and Harry on the tower, the film did a poor job, Harry wasnt ordered to be silent, he was under his cloak stunned by patrificus totalus, by Dumbedore, unable to move and noone noticed him. Also Snape ordered Draco to lower the wand Also the girlfriend, Lavander Brown, wasnt a new character. She was in the 4 other films pretty often, BUT she was played by a back actress and as soon as she got a speaking role JKR suddenly said "Uhm btw. Brown is the name not the colour!" Thats when many people said, she was "whitewashing" her own movies.

Found your Youtube channel a couple weeks ago and you guys are quickly become my favorite reactors. Love the genuine and heartfelt reactions, please keep them coming.

I really enjoy your reactions to all movies but have to admit that it is the Harry Potter reactions that made me decide to become a Patreon. You two are excellent!

I have been a patreon for awhile and have loved watching you guys experience the Harry Potter movies in addition to all the other amazing content. You guys are one of my favorite channels. Your questions have all already been answered but just to elaborate a bit. The first half of the movie and the while lavender thing is because the story (as does every HP) takes place over a bit of summer and throughout a school year. They are teenage kids finding their hormones. Is Lavender annoying? Absolutely. But she is meant to be. She is the complete polar opposite of Hermione. She plays a bigger supporting roll in the books and is best friends with the Patil twins so bookwise you see much more of her. Also the Voldi memories are much greater in the books. Harry sees several from his childhood all the way up through beginning to aquire his power. Job interviews and more. Also it is kind of explained what happened with the defense against the dark arts job being cursed. Because Tom was raised in an orphanage, Hogwarts was literally the first home he had so just after graduating, he interviewed for the position of DATDA teacher but Dumbledore turned him down. Since that time no one has held the position for more than a year. Lastly, I am afraid I can no longer support your channel. George I am ashamed of you! How can you dislike Luna??? She is a ray of sunshine and is thouroghly beloved by the fans. Is she quirky? Completely. But we love her for it. Her father is even worse, you will meet him next movie. The great thing about Luna is she is beyond any pretenses. In the book she comments that Ron has a mean streak (he really does) and though she considers them friends, she would never presume to call them that without them saying it. They never show it on film so I don't mind telling you but at one point Harry Ron and Hermione see her bedroom and she has painted them plus Neville and Ginny on the ceiling of her room with the word friends. Please note: I was kidding about not supporting you anymore Lastly though I didn't hear you talk much about it I wanted to address Ginny and Harry as I feel compelled to do with every reaction of this movie. Ginny is a much bigger role in the books and there is a lot of buildup of their relationship. She is an absolute badass and I would consider her the magically strongest Weasley. You actually watch them fall in love, or should I say you watch Harry fall in love because in all honesty Ginny has been infatuated since the beginning though it has grown into love. The movie just gives a couple scenes and then bam kissing. It's very rushed. Anyway that's all and great job!

george: i had a feeling that was going to be a controversial opinion haha, i look forward to the YT backlash. but yeah, i dont know something about her didnt land for me. that being said i am definitely starting to see a trend here, where most side characters in the movies are quite under developed compared to the books, so it may just be that in her movie form i find difficulties with.

Shai Jadaka Ture

I hate certain characters too so I'm not going to kill you too much on Luna lol. I will say it's one thing to say a character's personality isn't your cup of tea but when that character is almost always being the most helpful or most knowledgeable person in the room it does seem petty to keep talking about how much you hate her lol. I mean just her always helping and being understanding gotta make u like/respect her a little lol. And Luna (kinda like Neville) is a side character thats almost a main character (especially in the books) so while her character is better fleshed out in the book but she's the same Luna in the book so I dont George would like her in the book either. One of my favorite characters tho. The one thing that can't be argued is how the love stories aren't fleshed out well in the movies it's better in the movie but I honestly think JK is just a narrow minded person and constantly tried to fit square pegs in round holes in regards to gender and love. I'm in the minority but I don't even think the Hermione Ron pairing is believable tbh but I'll save those thoughts till after u guys watch them all. But HBP is amazing for how gorgeous the movie is and the intensity it brings to the franchise. From the muggle attacks at the beginning, to slughorns secret, ultimately ending with the death of Dumbledore HBP ratchets of the story and sets the stage for the two best movies IMHO. Can't wait for u guys to see it. Thanks for the content.

So in the Hogwarts Infirmary when Dumbledore tells Professor Slughorn that he must be so proud of his star pupil Harry for using a bezoar to reverse Ron's poisoning what most people I've seen who haven't read the books and watched the movies as often as some of us have miss is that comment should have been directed at the PREVIOUS Potions Master present in the room Professor Snape because it was Snape who introduced us and Harry Potter to the bezoar in Harry's very FIRST Potions class. What the movie Snape doesn't explain in that first Potions class is that bezoars are stones that are found in the bellies of goats.

Thomas Bengtsson

'Please, don't kill any more important people...' :)

JokerDanny

Snape does explain that bezoars are found in the stomach of goats in the extended version of Philosopher's Stone which they watched

Sammy Rebbo

I always disliked the Hermione and Ron pairing. The movies do show more moments of awkward attraction moments but in the books I always felt both Ron and Hermione had more chemistry with other characters than with each other. It's been a long time since I read the books though.

Sammy Rebbo

Ah The Half Blood Prince, I'll always say this, it's my favorite book yet my least liked of the movies. My main gripe with the movie is that ever since I watched it on it's opening midnight showing I felt this movie assumes the viewers have read the books because a lot of things that happen kinda just...happen. I remember watching it in the theater and a lot of times thinking "how is anyone supposed to know what's going on here if they haven't read the book?" Also, it's ok if George doesn't like her, <3 <3 <3 Luna! She'll always be my favorite HP character!

Jeremy S

Yeah, I agree. The book was really good, the way it delved into Voldemort's past. I really think the movie would have benefitted from getting ALL of the scenes about his past, not just the one from the orphanage. Surely they could have found a way to fit them in. They could have cut the pointless and ill-fitting scene where the Burrow is burned down for one. It's my least favorite scene of all 8 movies, because it just makes no sense.
