I'm gonna chime in and say that I like the fourth movie, and honestly don't get the hate for it. It's no more fantastical than the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail, and it includes some lovely character growth for Indy as a character.

David Lonewolf Wright

I will also join in on the you should watch Kingdome of the Crystal Skulls. I would say it is the weakest of all of the Indy movies and has some ridiculous moments, even for an Indy film, but I felt it had some pretty great moments as well. As a sideways recommendation, I just finished watching both Temple of Doom and this today and it made me think of recommending RRR as it is also set in British occupied India and one of the cast members is played by the actress who played Elsa. It is film with the most genres stuffed into it and yet somehow works in the most epic fashion. I am also new to your channel, so I don't know if it was brought up or discussed previously.

Logan Kerlee

Woo! I'm gonna watch this now. :D

Hey look! It’s the LAST Indiana Jones movie! lol. In all seriousness the fourth movie is quite the experience haha. I don’t dislike the movie as much as many, and I will watch it with you, I would be shocked if it ever won a poll. But I don’t blame those who hate it. It’s very hate-able. If you do watch it you would see lots of meme sources lol. Watching the movie with you guys now. So the start of the movie is in Arches National Park, the train is in Colorado. I rode on the same track when I was younger. The water tower was there and everything, it was part of the tour we went on. I still have the engineer hat we got at the gift shop haha. Since you guys like this side of Sean Connery so much you should watch The Rock (1996). He is great fun in that movie as well. He is also great in The Untouchables (1987). Won an Oscar for that role!

Wonderful reaction! Super enjoyed it. :) I'll have to go back and watch the previous Indiana Jones reactions, now. Looking forward to it!

When you guys do the next 80s movie poll, I'd love to make a few suggestions of a few movies I loved growing up that I think you would enjoy! Time Bandits (Sean Connery cameo), Clash of the Titans, Krull and Willow. And lets not forget, Poltergeist! For 90s, BRAVEHEART!

Chris S

The fourth Indy movie isn't great, but it's not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. It's definitely not as good as a Raiders or Last Crusade, but I like it more than Temple of Doom, personally.

Michael_AP

And Time Bandits is kinda Monthy Python so it might do good collecting views. (not the full cast of Monthy Python) ohhhh Poltergeist. I second that one.

Michael_AP

I completely agree. I think the dissing comes down to one single person being in the movie.

Christopher Greenley

Hi Simone. I have a movie suggestion for you both to put on a future fantasy movie poll. Legend - The Directors Cut. Starring Tom Cruise, Tim Curry, and directed by Ridley Scott.

Marko T.

It was so fun to rewatch this with you guys. Its hard to choose the best movie in the trilogy because they are all so good. They are my favorite adventure movies. I recommend watching the fourth movie too. Its not as good as these but its still fun. Would be great to hear your opinion about it. They are now filming Indiana Jones 5. Can't wait to see that. Harrison Ford is 79 years old but he is still in good shape.

NotlobParrot

There is a TON of great behind the scenes stuff for this movie. The Illusion Bridge? Practical. The Aging Effect? Very close to what you guessed and insanely innovative. The Tank Chase alone is a marvel of practical effects, camera tricks, and stunts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgwh8Erobj0

Raiders of the Lost Ark is set in 1936. Temple of Doom is set in 1935. Last Crusade is set in 1912 and 1938. The years are shown onscreen of each film.

Thomas Malley

The only reason they set Temple of Doom before Lost Ark was so they didn't have to explain what happened to Marion.

Marko T.

You should watch Sean Connery Bond movies. Dr. No from 1962 is great. Its the first Bond movie.

JLee

That Maester Pycelle is a real piece of work.

Githerax

Wow, great documentary! Thanks! But I'm sorry to say that you are a dead, deceased parrot.

MacGuffinStuff

Okay I agree with the purists that Raiders is the best, as a singular movie, it's basically perfect. But this is still my personal favorite for a few reasons. One is obviously the humor, this is the most fun, Ford and Connery's on screen comic chemistry and timing is awesome. Two we get a lot of back story to the character with the young Indie sequence, even the scar on Harrison Ford's chin (which I heard actually came from a seat belt pulled too quickly). Three, River Phoenix (RIP) playing young Indie was incredible, damn he was taken too soon, even Joaquin says he was the real talent in the Phoenix family, stay away from those hard drugs kids. Four, I saw this in the theater when I was young and have loved it ever since. Five, it WAS a great cap to the franchise, right up to and including that shot of them literally riding off into the sunset. And well, I'll just leave it at that, no need to kick a dead horse with the criticism of the fourth film (even though that's what Lucas and Spielberg did by making it).

JoeySnowyNoey

This is my favorite of the three!

Nate Terry

if you guys liked Sean Connery and comedy and action, you might like him in "The Rock" with Nicholas Cage!

Craig Brennan

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at gets really under rated and even though it is bad, the real reason it is bad has to do with the fact that if you don't know about the actual theories about the real Crystal Skulls it gets totally lost on everybody. I saw it the opening day and was like everyone else thinking wth. Then about a year later I watched a documentary on the real Crystal Skulls and then shortly after that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull happen to go on a movie network on the TV and I watched it. It wasn't as bad that time around because I actually had the background for it that time watching it even though it was still the worst of the 4 of them. The movie is written more as a pass the buck to the next generation movie.

Thomas88

You can watch it in chronological order 1912, 1935, 36, 38 and Indie does have a propper character arc :)

Thomas88

The reason Cristal skull is bad is...Lucas and Spielberg couldnt find a common ground. Spielberg didnt want a Indie 4 to begin with.... after Lucas got him into the project, Spielberg said "We cant do Nazis anymore and i have done more than enough alien movies" And George Lucas was like "Well i have a script about russians and aliens?!" Spielberg was like "Ok im out, call me when you changed your mind George!" That night, Lucas called him and said "Ok we ont do aliens...." Spielberg "Oh George thank you so mu..." "We call them interdimensonal beeings!" Spielberg "What the...???? What ever...."

I've been binging through your content and, while loving it, keep being surprised at how often you guys question some fairly mundane things. Maybe it is bias due to your youth, but it isn't something I've seen in other reactors. Good example in this episode was doubting the existence of the speedboats used in Venice. FYI, the movie is set around 50 years after speedboats were invented. Boats with engines had been around well before that, and a speed boat is just a small boat with a powerful engine.
