imagine if they knew about electric cars back then. They can run on Mr Fusion forever, way better than tesla xD

Benny Chistensen

Keep in mind that when discussing the fact that people statistically didn't live as long in the Wild West, it also relates to the high number of child deaths, which generally skewed the overall statistics. This doesn't mean that there weren't individuals who lived to an old age back then, just as there are today. While many did die at a young age, the high child mortality rate makes the statistics appear worse than they actually were.

The way the films progress through genres is the thing that surprises new viewers. You both started out thinking you were going to watch a scifi film that has angry Libyans, but it's really a highschool romcom, which eventually leads us to a romantic western.

Morion Williams

The way to describe the series is just fucking awesome. A sci-fi with angry libyans that is really a high school romcom that turns into a romantic western. Thats awesome.

David Lonewolf Wright

I have seen this movie countless times and I just realized that band from 1885 festival is ZZ Top. My only problem is that Maggie McFly looks a lot like his mom, yet Marty's father line is the McFly line... so the family tree has a few too many straight branches. Not Marty McFly... more like Mary McButtflap. There was a Saturday morning cartoon series that continued after this ending. My order of the movies is 1, 3, and then 2. If you like the Western aspect of the movie, I highly recommend Silverado. It has a stacked cast, great acting, great action, and some good laughs. I also recommend Quigley Down Under too.

David Lonewolf Wright

I am 47 and this was the first time I recognized them as the band... and I can't believe it took me this long to notice.

JediLounger

Wells Fargo is a bank. They have established and changed names several times, but they can trace their origins back to the 1850s.

Eik104

Great reaction :) Third one is my favorite too

David Eldridge

"Make my day" is from Dirty Harry. A Clint Eastwood movie series.

Mike Adams

Favorite "blooper" that made the final cut is at the end (About 1:50:42) when Doc is talking to them and his kids are behind him, the youngest motions to the camera and points at.... himself.

Theoshin

I am not sure if it has been suggested in the past, but if you are looking for more time travel I would recommend to put Bill and Ted's excellent adventure in a poll

Andrew T

I just started watching this reaction. There's one thing that's triggering my audio engineer brain, and that's seeing Simone's microphone positioned the way it is. The Rode NT1 is a side-address mic, not a front-address mic, so the top of the mic shouldn't be pointing at the mouth. Also, given the microphone's cardioid pickup pattern, the logo side of the mic should be pointing toward the mouth as well, not toward the camera. This is to say, the captured audio is not optimal. However, the sound is adequate in this video, so yeah, I acknowledge this is an "it sounds fine, shut up Andrew" post.

Raven Dark

Yay! I'm glad you guys reacted to this one and you loved it. So happy. The first is still my favorite, but this one is almost equal for me. I love them all though. As to what you guys said about how things might be better without Biff, I don't think that's true. Because as horrible as he is, remember what happened in the timeline Marty and Doc created by going back in time in the first movie. Marty's mom ended up finally falling for and marrying George McFly because Goerge punched Biff and saved her from him. If Beautford Tannon died because Marty killed him, then Biff would not exist, which means Biff would not exist. If Biff didn't exist, Goerge couldn't punch him, Loriane wouldn't fall for him, they wouldn't marry, and Marty would never be born. Which probably means that as soon as Marty shot Beauford in this movie, Marty would disappear from existence. Except, maybe that creates a whole other timeline that is so different that it's impossible to tell what would happen. Goerge and Loriagn might still fall in love, the way they would have in the original timeline, where Goerge is hit by the car in the first film instead of Marty. Wow, that's trippy. Goerge, as to your question about where the term yellow belly comes from, and why yellow belly? I tried to look it up and it's kind of hard to understand, but what I found was that the term originated in an area of England where they have yellow bellied eels, and a saying evolved that the people in that area have yellow bellies like their eels. It also said the color yellow has long been associated with cowardice, but no one knows why. The person who wrote the article guessed that the belly part might refer to when an animal rolls over, showing its belly when it gives up a fight. Beast I could find. *shrug* Simone, I agree, Mary Steenburgen (pronounced BERG. like the way we pronounce hamburger) is a great actress. She stars in an old eighties Christmas movie you guys might like, One Magic Christmas. Oh, and I thought you might appreciate this--she also did a guest role in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, in which she is a serial killer who murders her own child. She does a fantastic job, and it's so chilling and neat to see her in such a creepy, evil role. Her acting range is insanely good.

Craig Brennan

The reason Clare name was on Doc's Tombstone was because Doc changed the future in the timeline before Marty went back to 1885 and meet Clara and fell in love at the train station and prevented it that way. When Marty and Doc are at the train station you see Clara in the background waiting for Doc and since he doesn't meet her it sets her on the original path but this time Doc saves her before it happens. Also if you want to continue the story line you should play Back To The Future: The Game. It takes place after Back To The Future: Part III and is 5 Episodes.

Githerax

Keep talking, Andrew. Simone's audio has been *DRIVING ME INSANE* (mildly annoying on occasion) for a while now.

Andrew T

Oh, how my heart sinks when young react-ers don't recognize ZZ Top. I'm so old.

Githerax

S&G: The 'earth nipples' at the Drive-In theature are buttes, an equally funny word with a predictable etymology, at Monument Valley in Utah. The actual 'Earth nipples' are found in Wyoming at the Grand Teton (yes, Teton does mean what you think it means) Park. Turns out men have fondly pondered feminine attributes since time immemorial. And did you know that the city name 'San Diego' means 'A Whale's Vagina'? Learn more by watching 'Anchorman' with Will Ferrell, if you haven't already done so.

Prophet2272

He could have used kerosene because the byproduct of kerosene is gasoline.

Githerax

BTW Simone, FYI, Emmet and Clara's first kiss was the first time actor Christopher Lloyd had kissed on screen. Awww.

JD Nevesytrof

BTTF2 gets a bad rap, honestly, it's still considered the "worst" of the trilogy but I think people forget how good it actually was. Heck, it was a direct inspiration for Avengers Endgame among other things.

Githerax

Nah it's bad. Trust me, *I was there*, 3000 years ago. I saw BttF1 *10 times* in our small town theater when it came out in 1985. They could've thrown that script for 2 into Mount Doom, but they produced it instead, and it led to the end of the age of Elves. Thankfully, Elrond and Gandalf wrote 3, and brought the magic back to Middle-Earth.

Torsten Maekler

I think that according to the inner time travel logic of this series, Jennifer shouldn't know about their time travel experience to the future, since they parked her in 1985 before correcting what Future-Biff did in 1955. So when they went back to 1955 to correct what Biff did, they "erased" Marty's original Jennifer together with the alternative Biff-1985. But that would have meant, that there wasn't any Jennifer at all at the end of part 3... so, it is just a movie ;-)

David Brown

Doc, Clara, and their kids stay in the present in the spinoff animated series. Emmett Lathrop Brown. Doc's middle name is his mother's maiden name. This was revealed by co-writer/co-producer Bob Gale, and the name itself was mentioned in the animated series (which Bob Gale also co-produced).

Pajander

Surely 23 for life expectancy can't be right? Edit: Seems like that was the expectancy for women at age 50.

David Crabtree

Great reaction! Part 3 is my absolute favorite of the trilogy! I love how they made it Doc's movie.

Torstein Skurve

I hope this one does a lot better because you guys deserve it! Oh and because these are my favorite films of all time😁. I've already watched the other two fulltime reactions twice❤

Dor

Only one Zemeckis film left to really cover his greats: Contact (1997). Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey in an adaptation of a Carl Sagan novel. Great film.

Christopher Greenley

Loved your reaction to this film. Glad to be sharing this experience with you all. Even the movies I've seen before. It nice to see peoples reactions to great film classics. I grew up watching. Even the latest ones. Oh, George and Simone. Don't forget sequels to other movies you reacted to. Predator 2 & Die Hard 2 Die Harder.

Daryl

Next up: The Time Machine (2002) and Blast from The Past. 👌😎

Christopher Greenley

Appreciate you both bunches lol.😎 Remember every day we wake up. Life is a blessing. Lets all remember to spread, joy, happiness, and love. Life is the ultimate journey. Live your life to the fullest. That goes for everyone else on Patreon. We are not only just watching movies together. I'd consider us all an extended family.

MacGuffinStuff

One of the happiest endings ever, involuntarily smiling still. And this is my favorite of the trilogy as well. Yeah Mary Steenburgen is the best, I loved her in Stepbrothers and Ron Howard's "Parenthood" with Steve Martin (add it to the list maybe? If for no other reason to see a young Keanu Reeves and a VERY young Joaquin Phoenix, also it's a funny, down to earth movie with a lot of heart). Also, Mary Steenburgen is such an attractive older woman lol, sorry, had to be said 😆 Oh but one thing, clearly neither of you is a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan because Needles, the guy who fires Marty in part 2 and the guy trying to race him at the end of 3 is played by Flea, the bass player for RHCP (he also plays a small in the Big Lebowski and has been in a few other things, I think). Ok one final thing, Marty using that stove door as like a bullet proof vest is from a Clint Eastwood movie, I think it's from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", but I'm not that familiar with spaghetti westerns, but I do know it was an Eastwood movie.

J.p. Gill

The guy that plays Needles, the guy who challenges him to a car race, is "flea." He is the bass player for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

E.P.B.F.

Close, but not quite. The stove door bullet proof west is a reference to 'A Fistful of Dollars' the first of the Dollar Trilogy movies by Sergio Leone which starred, and made a star of, Clint Eastwood as The Man with No Name. The second and third movies were 'For a Fistful of of Dollars More' and 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly'.

RE: "Indians." The politically correct folks say it's best to use the term Native Americans. But my family is friends with a few and we've even been to a few pow wows. And the people we know don't seem to mind the term "Indian" and even use it themselves. They themselves prefer to be called by their tribal name, like Cherokee or the like. But "Indian" seems to be fine as secondary choice. I can't speak for all of them, of course. But this is my own personal secondhand experience for you. They do, however, take offense at folks dressing up in stereotypical garb, especially a feathered headdress.

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Remember the guys playing at the Clock Tower party? Those are ZZ Top, also the series continued in a short lived animated series where Doc Brown would show up as live action for moments during the show...also they recently made a videogame that kind of counts as Back to the Future 4

Githerax

Yeah George's 'life expectancy' "fact" is so wildly off it's cringey. At that time, an infant girl had a life expectancy of 40 years, but that's a statistic that is balanced against high child mortality. By age 10 the expectancy was 50, and after reaching adulthood, a woman's life expectancy in 1850's would climb into the 60's and stabilize there. In fact, according to this chart, a woman's life expectancy was *longer* than a man of the same age throughout adulthood: https://www.infoplease.com/us/health-statistics/life-expectancy-age-1850-2011 Based on data from dhhs.gov and cdc.gov

Githerax

Predator 2 was a miserable bomb and nobody likes it. Don't recommend bad movies for Cinebinge, they need good ones to attract viewers on youtube. George thinks he needs to guarantee they watch all the dreck that gets posted here and he doesn't realize he'll reduce his channel's views by putting stuff like this in the mix, just like it did with the sub-par Speed 2, Indiana Jones 2, Jurassic Park 2, and Back to the Future 2, all of which were acknowledged in the comments as poor sequels. Indiana Jones 3 did better than 2, which was predicted in the comments of people telling George it was a better movie than 2. Godfather 2 obviously a classic, Die Hard 2 was a moderate success. Rocky 2-3 are better-loved sequels, and performed moderately well on other reactor channels to prove the point. Also, reacting to the same movies that other reactors have done will help their SEO by recommending them after people watch the other channels, so if there's a question about what movies to recommend, check out the most popular ones on other channels and carry them over here.

Githerax

Yeah the movie is fast and loose with time travel logic; one fun joke in the first movie is that 'Twin Pines Mall' is renamed 'Lone Pine Mall' after Marty goes back, runs over one of the pines, and returns to the present. Apparently the poor tree took the space-time continuum by surprise. Yet Doc's tombstone says 'beloved Clara' *before Marty went back*, but in Marty's time the ravine was named 'Clayton Ravine', meaning she would've died when the wagon went over, which was before she met Doc. So the Mall name needed a retcon because Marty killed a tree, Marty's alteration of the Clara event was destiny? Not that I'm complaining, I agree with Simone, BttF 3 is the best one.

Cinebinge

interesting! up here its First Nation, Aboriginal or Indigenous are the preferred

BND

So you guys were wondering how Clara could have dedicated the tombstone to Doc if she died in the ravine...well in the original timeline she dies because there's no one to pick her up from the train station so she rents a wagon, but if you remember Doc volunteers to pick her up when the Mayor asks him to, so he does pick her up and therefore saves her. However when Marty comes back for Doc there's no one there meet her at the train station so she rents a wagon, and that's what happens in the movie

Githerax

But in the original time line she does die; even Doc thought it was 'Clayton Ravine'. So Marty's distraction was destined, but Doc's horse-riding skills were *not*.

Githerax

Movie: *Marty and Doc start chasing train on horseback* Simone: *Doesn't blink for 15 minutes*

Kate Suhr

So in part 2 Marty sees Biff watching a Clint Eastwood movie where Clint has a bullet proof shield on and Biff says "bullet proof shield. Brilliant." In this movie Marty seems to have remembered that and does the same thing under the guise of Clint Eastwood which leaves reason to believe that's why the real Clint Eastwood does it in the movie. Also the arcade game was Wild Gunman. And yes Biff's actor in real life is really nice. I met him at the horror hound convention center near Cincinnati where I live. I went to it a few years ago.

Kripke's Corner

Anybody notice this before. When Doc and Marty are looking at the map, at the train station, right near them is Clara. 41:50 and appears to be waiting for Doc. I thought she always came by horse and wagon with the runaway horses that were spooked. It appears that Doc could have met up with her before this all along. lol

Githerax

Yeah apparently there's a contradiction in the time-travel "logic" here. They clearly wanted to pull a 'changing photo' trick like in the first movie, and also the "Twin Pines" to "Lone Pine' revised history trick too, but here's the problem: In 1955, Marty and Doc found a tombstone that said 'beloved Clara', meaning they met and fell in love. Back in 1885, the mayor asks Doc to pick up the new teacher, so that makes sense. *But* Sonash Ravine is known by both Doc and Marty as 'Clayton Ravine' because a teacher died there; Clara! But the only reason it seemed she would die there is because Doc *didn't pick her up* and she rented the wagon and lost control of it. So if the tombstone is real, he did pick her up. If Clayton Ravine was real, he didn't pick her up. But both were real to Doc and Marty. Whoops! Unless Clara flung herself into the ravine in grief after Doc died, then both the tombstone and the ravine name would work.

Another great time travel film is Looper. Much darker than bttf but seriously good

Odd Thomas

The other great Michael J. Fox film is The Frighteners, directed by Peter Jackson.
