Power outages suck. You are thinking of The Mummy Returns with the terrible Rock CGI. This movies CGI holds up surprisingly well I’ve found. You guys should watch that and Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Neither of them are great movies, but would make great reactions. Hope you guys are having fun hanging out! Watching this reminded me of another movie by the same director you guys should watch, Deep Rising. That movie is a riot.

Can't wait to watch this. This is actually a remake of a 1932 movie with the same name starring Boris Karloff. Its a very different kind of movie but the story has many same elements. Its one of the classic Universal monster movies.

The Mummy Returns is a continuation of this one and with the same cast. I think it's worth to watch and no doubt you'll have fun. The one with Jet Li is the third one (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor). Also featuring Brendan Fraser but otherwise has little to do with the first 2 movies.

Brendan Fraser is a phenomenal sweetheart of a human being. Got Shat on/shafted by Hollywood in the early 00s, for not kowtowing to the industry, and calling Shit like it is/Fucked up when he saw it. This coupled with a few personal tragedies happening in his life pretty much at the same time, kinda screwed his career/mental health so bad he had to stop/was forced out of acting.... A terrible shame, since he is a terrific actor, and greatly dedicated to the craft. A look into him, and his performances is HIGHLY worthwhile...

Yeah George 'mage' is the English version of the latin 'magus', and 'magi' is the latinate plural. Simone, I think if camels were faster we'd see camel racing today instead of horse racing. George, the ancient Hebrews weren't even Israelite yet, much less Jewish (Judea formed after Israel split up) and the Star of David, a king of Israel hundreds of years after leaving Egypt wouldn't mean anything to the mummy; but the mummy must've recognized the Hebrew speech as the language of the slaves. I give the movie credit, that was a clever moment.

Super enjoyed this reaction! I first watched The Mummy back in '99 or 2000. Didn't get to watch this in the theatres but I was also 11 or 12 years old at the time. I was laughing a good bit at your reaction throughout! Very happy that you did this one for us. :)

Also, when Rachel clutched Brendan's arm and Simone blurted out "Bicep!" it reminded me of Michael Cera in Scott Pilgrim saying "Tongue." Maybe he really *is* your soulmate, Simone! (In case you don't remember, that was your comment after Michael said "Chill as in cold." and you told George "OMG I was thinking that and then he said it. Is he my soulmate??")

Definitely react to The Mummy Returns and the first Scorpion King is still fun and even The Mummy 3 has some good moments.

There is camel racing. Although camels are slower they can travel farther which is why they’re more suitable for the desert terrain.

Since you've asked before about if lighting matches by striking them against any (suitably frictional) surface works; it does work with a certain type of matches, that was more common back in the days. They are still possible to find, but the more common type of matches in use nowadays require you to strike them against a specific type of surface - i.e. the strip that is attached to match boxes - for safety reasons. They're generally referred to as 'strike-anywhere matches' and 'safety matches' =)

I didn't realize before but before he was killed and became a mummy, he and his lover were basically murdered and just wanted to be together. Had they been able to, nothing bad ever would have happened. So the guys watching guard were doing so because their ancestors caused all of this.

Mummy Returns isn't as good but still fun. The third one loses Weisz & Sommers & is just a cash grab. Sommers made Van Helsing instead which is a guilty pleasure
