Buff can also be an off-white, beige, neutral shade of color... And yes, Run Lola Run is the English title of the German movie Lola Rennt (Lola Runs). Thank you for the videos!

ExtraBigAssTaco

This is one of my absolute favorite movies, by the way. I love to rewatch things, and Amelie never lets me down. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

WalrusWallace

Just got around to watching this reaction and I enjoyed it so much. I haven't watched Amelie in forever which was great since watching it now made it seem new again. Also what a coincidence that you mentioned Run Lola Run here and will be reacting to that this Saturday lol

Prof. Writhms

The director of “Amelie” (Jean-Pierre Jeunet) also made one my all-time favorite sci-fi/fantasy films: “The City of the Lost Children” (1995). Can it be add it to the poll list for non-Hollywood or "foreign" movies?

JediLounger

I also want to echo the suggestion of The City of Lost Children (1995). Your minds would bend like the spoon in The Matrix.

Eik104

Haven't gotten to the movie yet but you already made me spit out my drink in laughter when you said "Kill her!" haha. Also it's a white rug, thanks Simone! 😅

Roby J

If you guys haven't seen Hugo (2011) I would add it to your list. I got similar vibes while watching Amelie, so I think it's something you both would enjoy.

The guy with his right sleeve in his pocket (Lucien in the movie) is a french comedian/actor/filmproducer that lost his right arm at the age of 15 by playing around train tracks. His best friend past away in this incident too. Just putting this in here because i noticed you said something about his arm being in his pocket.

JokerDanny

please react to Gotham

A trilogy I like in the same style of storytelling and filming is Cédric Klapisch's films: L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment), Les Poupées Russes (Russian Dolls) and Casse-tête Chinois (Chinese Puzzle)

Eik104

And Audrey Tautou who plays Amélie is in all three of them as I remember

Githerax

?? There was no spoon in the Matrix. That's the whole *point*, man!

Monica Alarcon

You should check out Wes Anderson Movies... starting maybe with Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums...

Monica Alarcon

12 minutes in... geeez, Amelie is so strange... I mean... who enjoys watching people watch movies??? weirdo...

Githerax

After Groundhog Day, they asked for more Bill Murray and I looked up Bill Murray movies; he's been in almost every one of Wes' movies! I hadn't seen any, so I watched Rushmore and *haaateeeed iiiiit*. So I dunno if that's going to work for me :D Oh well. I'd like to see Gemone's reaction to a Wes movie though.

Dustin Lollar

His most recent movie is BigBug and it is really good.

James Quinn

Some more suggestions for ya... Kung Fury, Turbo Kid, & even COMMANDO NINJA (just the trailer for that one will do). Why? Bcuz they beee spoofin’ yay yyyo!

Tim Boxall

Turbo Kid! Yes! Oft-overlooked yet hilarious in its own inimitable way. Also has the utterly divine Laurence Leboeuf, which sells it straightaway!

Just as I was going to recommend Run Lola Run, Simone asked George if he's seen Run Lola Run. So...never mind.

I Ride A Pegasus To Work

I'm with Simone on this one; I love this film and I think it's a great love story. The two are perfectly weird for each other. I also love the artistic set designs, cinematography, the soundtrack, and the dedication to all the little things in life. The original French title is "The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulin" and I think that lends more to the tone of fairy tale/magical realism that simmers under the surface in examining the imagination and loneliness of the characters. I'd like to see your reaction to Dear Frankie, a little Scottish film starring Emily Mortimer and Gerard Butler (thematically, it would work well for Mother's Day). I'll also recommend Lars and the Real Girl for some more Mortimer in another odd sort of love story starting Ryan Gosling.

Odd Thomas

Simone attempting French is my new favourite thing. Jeanet & Tautou reunited for the war film A Very Long Engagement which is every bit as good as Amelie, though naturally darker. Highly recommend.
