Boba Fett next

Eric S

Agreed. And Season 3 please. Also be sure to watch the "Mandalorian" episodes of Boba.(on here please!) Feel free to watch Book of Boba off channel. Some of it was good. some wasn't. Season 3 is a bit messy, but still worth the watch. Are you guys planning on watching it?

djKENTO

No Season 3 was not a “new deal”. Star Wars and Disney don’t work that way with Star Wars or Marvel.

Poddington

using the term "old protocols" is mostly in reference to the Empire being before now and not necessarily that the protocols are out dated and no longer used. The Empire is old and out dated under the New Republic rule, but to any existing groups of Empire scattered about its just protocol. The 2nd Death Stars destruction and the end of Palpatine and Vader is only 5-6 years by this point in Season 2.

What does it matter if it's CGI-Luke? I don't get the issue with this. We have the tech to do it now, it was incredibly moving, works with the timeline, and allows the show to respect and applaud Hamill as an actor of an iconic character. I was so disappointed in your reactions, honestly. I was so moved when I watched this the first time with friends -- we actually cried. I just think you're overthinking this to a certain degree. There is nothing wrong with CGI-Hamill (nobody had issues with CGI-Tony Stark, for instance), if it serves the story and Hamill himself was supportive.

I'm a little surprised you haven't started watching Book of Boba Fett yet but I'm sure you're all very busy :) That being said, you MUST watch Boba Fett BEFORE watching Mando Season 3 FYI.

Beddoe

I'm really hoping you will do more Star Wars series. I would HIGHLY recommend 'The Clone Wars'. There is SO much good stuff in there and it will fill in gaps you didn't even know you wanted filled. It's some of the best Star Wars ever.

McShades

It's weird, this version you watched of episode 8 had different music in it. It didn't hit as hard as the original music did. It's a bummer they changed it.

Texas Anla'Shok

No, that's digitally de-aged Mark Hamill. That shot with Grogu and Artoo is going to be one of the iconic scenes of the entire franchise.

Foodassassin4life

If you can dodge a blaster you can dodge a ball!!!

MrCAL

I totally understand your want for more scenes involving Mando and his fight to rescue Grogu. Personally I felt the inclusion of Luke Skywalker here was very therapeutic for not only myself but for everyone else who..., lets say felt unsatisfied with Luke's character development in the sequel movies.

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

What’s the deal with the Dark Saber? Well there are two shows you have to watch to fully understand it ;). Basically Mandalorians respect strength, if you beat the pwner of the saber in combat, it means you’re more worthy than them, so you get to rule, until someone proves themselves better than you by besting you in combat.

Kripke's Corner

I'm rather surprised that the Book of Boba Fett was not included in the poll list for next seasoned show. I don't think they are aware that 2+ episodes are basically "The Mandalorian Season 2.5" and is freakin awesome! :D Well, since season 3 is still many months away, there is plenty of time. :D

Markus H

Simone, you don't have wait for the season 3 of The Mandalorian, you just need to watch The Book of Boba Fett to see how Mando's story continues.

George Baxter

I think Book of Boba Fett retroactively made Mandalorian worse. They made the conclusion of season 2 so emotional... Then wasted all that in two episodes of rushed storytelling

Githerax

Simone: "Love snipers. So satisfying." Try Far Cry or Hitman video games, Simone. So satisfying. Also, Simone, rolling your eyes at George asking how the trooper falls out of the gravity-generating ship, and not fall back in? Same question would apply for artificial gravity of the Enterprise, lady. So you 'splain it!

Charlie Keeler

with the exception of 2 episodes Book of Boba is skippable, Fett yet again gets the shaft story wise imo

JLee

Without looking it up I think the "ooo wee ooo wee" instrument is a bass recorder or some similar bass flute... but maybe not. Regardless, Ludwig Göransson killed it as always with the theme and score

Monica Alarcon

As others pointed out, you do need to watch The Book of Bobba Fett before season 3... honestly I only watched the episodes with Mando...

Jason Pratt

Will there be a YouTube version of this reaction?

Andreas

On your curiously about the reception. From what I gathered Star wars fans where mostly overwhelmingly excited to see Luke in action, basically in his prime, for the first time since Ep. VI. Also this time not as a failure which a lot of people really disliked about the sequel trilogy. Wanting Mando more involved at the end is fair. But he did have 2 big fights showing struggle prior, with Gideon and the solo Dark Trooper. I feel it was established that they would 0% chance against the platoon if they breached the door. Most watchers I think were happy to get as much Luke as they could get, me included. The episode has something like 9.8 on IMDB and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. De-aged Luke did get some deserved flack for looking a bit off though.

Cinebinge

Hey Jason! no, we don't do youtube edits for the tv show reactions at this time. Editing is a lot of work and we don't want to reduce our content output :)

Jack Burton

The msg Mando sent to Gideon about Grogu was Gideon's msg from another episode that he sent to Mando about Grogu. So it was narrative poetry but I don't think you guys recognized it and I'm bummed for you that you didn't. Those kinds of cool writing turns are so much fun to get live. Also they just got through wrapping filming on S3.

Ian Forbes

Same. I watched the first episode of Fett and was so bored I didn’t plan on watching more but was pulled back in for Mando-related elements … it’s sort of Mandolorian 2.5 but with an unsatisfying Boba Fett story attached. Could start on episode 5 or 6 (wherever Mando is brought in) and just use the “previously on” to get a recap of the first half. Saves time and effort.

Peter Hudson

It would be RAD if you two did some reactions to stand-up specials; even if it was a once a month thing for patrons. My suggestion, especially with recent things that've happened, would be Chris Rock's Bring the Pain special from (I think) 1996. One of the best stand up specials ever, hilarious

Dustin Lollar

I didn’t notice till this time that the theme for the Bill Burr Mando escape score is the Book of Boba Fett theme.

Florian Hoyer

while some here say boba fett wasnt good, i rly rly liked the series. it had a few weakpoitns but all the major issues people have with it ... i liked. also it has crucial mando episodes so u cant rly watch season 3 without it xD

Kripke's Corner

What really upset me with the Book of Boba Fett is the Sarlacc Pit scene. It should have been at least half the episode. Not 1 minute long... :( It was such an iconic moment for fans to witness and was just deflating... other then that, I didn't mind Book of Boba Fett. The Sand People story was cool to watch, the sand train was great. Didn't like the Power Ranger gang... :( Fenic was awesome! Boba should act more like her instead of easy going... Anyways. :P

Nate Terry

why are ppl talking about Book of Boba? sure, lets just spoil the show before they watch it....I counted at least 3 comments above citing scenes or characters that isn't even in any trailers for the show....

JoeySnowyNoey

I don't mind the way it ended, but I can see y'all's point.

Thomas Yanez

I have to throw my vote in for pointing out that while "The Book of Boba Fett" is OK, it's not awesome - yet the last three episodes (5-7) are essentially "The Mandalorian 2.5" that have a pretty significant impact on how Season 3 is going to start, and you should definitely watch those at a minimum, even if you don't do reactions. The first four episodes will give you some of the Boba Fett lore you were looking for, and some other stuff nobody was looking for. And when we say "The Mandalorian 2.5", we're serious. Boba Fett isn't even in episodes 5 and 6.

Thomas Yanez

"The show is not called 'The Jedi', it's called 'The Mandalorian'." About that... as has been said many times before, this show was a love letter to Star Wars fans made by Star Wars fans. Old school Star Wars fans. For many of us, especially going back to those of us who saw the original trilogy half-a-dozen times or more in their original theatrical runs, something we never got to see (outside of books) is Luke Skywalker doing Jedi shit in his prime. After decades of waiting, we finally got live action Luke again in the sequels and... he was old and he was broken. He was bitter and in some ways pathetic. In this season finale, finally getting to see a live action Luke Skywalker, kicking ass as a Jedi master, when he was still full of optimism and trying to rebuild the Jedi... it was catharsis. When the X-Wing showed up, I started getting excited, and by the time we saw the green lightsaber and the conspicuously displayed gloved hand - I was already in tears. Yes, the show is "The Mandalorian" but Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau knew what many of us have been wanting to see for a very long time.

Gnosis

I think people sleep on Comedians as real actors - I would think they have high emotional intelligence to get a room of people to feel how they want (typically laugh). So getting them to feel anything else should be child's play.

Justin Wolford

So you guys need to watch the book of boba fett before season 3 because the last half of the season is more mandorlian and grogu storyline.

Steve H

Yes the Book of Boba Fett is the story most fitting your concerns for the chara ctors.
