Steve

you should really watch PAUL this is their rip off of little grey aliens movies. much better than AT WORLDS END. also stars Sigourney Weaver. Steve

Steve H

I was already to say goodbye to all this lunacy & have a coke then it got real crazy.

Cristian Garcia

I know you are busy but I'd really recommend you watch this again and pay attention how many things are spoiled or just referenced at some point in the movie and then they happen. I'll give you an example: Aaron A. Aronsson.

China Andronicus

As always, you are just way too much fun to watch movies with. Another actor of note who often gets overlooked is the member of the NWA who confronts them at the very end and winds up blowing up the station. That's Edward Woodward, famous British actor who starred in the original Wicker Man with Christopher Lee. Amazing talent. This was his final film role. I definitely recommend the OG Wicker Man, if you haven't seen it. Both Woodward and Lee are phenomenal, as well as the ensemble as a whole, but make sure you get the director's cut.

brian burke

maybe someone else referenced this but i recently found out that the priest in HOT FUZZ is paul freeman, who was belloq in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. it was cool to see him again. out of the trilogy, i think SHAUN OF THE DEAD is the best, but PAUL seems it should be listed as part of the series too, that would make it a quadrilogy?

Charlie Keeler

I love how goofy you two are together 😆

Githerax

Youtube: "George & Simone watching Firefly, or George & Simone watching Hot Fuzz?" Me: "Which will I prefer?" Youtube: "No, which do you want to watch first?"

Tim Pierce

The two biggest cameos are Peter Jackson (as in Lord of the Rings) as the Santa in the beginning, and Cate Blanchett as Janine (Angel's ex in the biohazard suit).

Michael_AP

You definitely should watch "Paul". It's hilarious, and it has a cameo by a WERY well known Alien-movie actor/actress. ... and if (when) you watch it, then have Simone pay close attention to the bird. LOL

Michael_AP

Me to. It's one of the things that makes this channel worth supporting.

Torsten Maekler

To answer the question: we call traffic cones a "Verkehrshütchen" ;-) Simone: "Oh, he is in Harry Potter, The couch." George looking weirdly puzzled. Priceless ;-) It is also a Simone-Friendly film: no animal was harmed during the making of this movie... they even saved the Swan... After all this promotion for CineCringe, I was hoping (just a bit) for Simone to trip over "And this wraps up this Episode of Cine... ", but you didn't :-( So, when is "Point Break" scheduled???

wroot

I just wish all reactors stop doing "oh, this actor is from..". At least not during the movie and packed dialogs.

Githerax

I'm sure Simone appreciated them saving the swan. In fact, the swan was a hero! Also, as a big crossword fan, I paused the crossword puzzle and 9-across is 'Birds that mate for life' and the answer is 'Swan'. But here I have a complaint; the lady says 'fascist' is 7-across. Although 7-across has enough squares for it, the clue is 'shut off'. 14-down is the clue she's reading and is 'f-a-_-_-i-_-_' in the grid, so 'fascism' would fit. SO WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST SAY '14 DOWN'?? Interesting, though, that both her clue and the one Simon Pegg said were both in the list of clues and on grid in the right place. They would've had to compose that crossword puzzle for the brief shot in the movie; I respect that. Also, I agree Simone, small town people are weird, scraggly-toothed, river-paddling, apple-cheeked yokels from places with names like 'Penobscot' or 'Kootenay' or 'Pawnee'. (Although I once lived near 'Mackinac' so who am I to judge?)

Persnickity

I'm glad you two caught on to the romance tropes in the movie. Apparently the script was originally written for a female love interest character. After awhile they switched it to Nick Frost and didn't change the dialogue or scenes.

Githerax

George, speaking of Brits making fun of redheads, check out Tim Minchin's 'Prejudice' song.

wroot

You have no idea what "The World's End" have in store for you :D Wink, wink :) The bit with fence jumping is hilarious :) You kind of spoiled this a bit for yourself that you saw Nick Frost as a policeman on the poster. That's one of the best bits when Simon Pegg asks where did that guy go that he arrested for driving while drunk and Nick Frost casually asks from behind "Who is gone?" :D

mpd

"what is he like 40??" That one stung for some reason. I had to look it up, David Threlfall would have been 53 during this film. To be honest, I was hoping he was much, much older....

Opti_Frog

Oh hell yes! This is going to be a blast!

James O'Sullivan

What I love in this film is everything that happens in the final act is referenced earlier in the film. Such as "deal with it you're a doctor" or the overacted deaths of the "semipro actors".

James O'Sullivan

I'd also throw in they were different pubs, and stylistically chosen well. Sean of the Dead was very much a "London Pub" and this was a quintessential country pub

Tim Boxall

I've had a bloody awful day, but coming back and watching this with you is giving me so many laughs - thank you so much! And its all for the greater good...

Xandermud

This was my second time watching this and I didn't realize the first time Danny asks a lot of questions about things Nick had done on the job like shooting two guns while diving through the air etc. and they do them all at the end of the movie.

PickettsChargingPort

"Dude's like 40" George, your age meter is off, or that's a rough 40.

MacGuffinStuff

You know what a lot of people miss? The guy who played Noel, the annoying 17 year old in Shaun of the Dead is one of the Andies, the younger one. In the DVD commentary for Shaun they mentioned he was actually really fun on set and had them all laughing. The commentary on SOTD BTW is Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and the actors who played Liz, Diane, and David drinking wine and reminiscing about the filming, it's pretty entertaining. I don't know, I love Shaun of the Dead AND The World's End but yeah, like apparently a lot of people this one I think is my favorite, so many gut busting laughs. The thing is Edgar Wright and these guys made movies for themselves essentially, Gen Xers who get all or most of the references to pre-Walking Dead zombie classics and 80s buddy cop type action movies. Their show "Spaced" was even more reference based humor and I love it, but while their style and the performances make their stuff funny even if you don't get the references, I think I might laugh just a little more because of an added layer to some of the jokes. Those guys are a bit older than me but I watched all those same movies growing up, many of which will no doubt be on Cinecringe lol, I'm gonna have to check that out.

Andrew T

I just discovered Simone's Instagram post from many years ago recognizing Olivia Colman. Makes this reaction that much better.

David RedEagle

I love that no one removes the evidence tags. Also the next one you should be drinking.

RocktSurgeon

I love, so much, that the bad Romeo and Juliet production was clearly from the Baz Luhrman/Leonardo DiCaprio version... A wonderfully weird movie itself but already so barely pulling it off weird/cheesy that the bad amateur version is perfect.

JoeySnowyNoey

I've been going through a funky time thanks Simone and George for bringing the positivity and laughs! You don't know how much good your reactions have done for me in my life right now!

Drew Acheson

You guys are so much fun! I really enjoy watching these movies with you both.

Logan Kerlee

Point Break is a FUN movie! I hope that we get to watch that on here. :) You both are a joy to watch. :) This reaction was a ton of fun to watch along the whole movie.

JarHead0351

I did enjoy "Paul" more than I did "The world's end" but glad you both want to watch them both

Smellwell

Paul is underrated. Seth Rogen's voice was made to play animated or cgi characters.
