The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is like the next generation to Firefly's original series. I'm happy for you that you've read it, George, but it does basically everything good this show does so much better than it does, and does so much more too, it almost makes me feel bad when you bring it up. It's hard to make any favorable comparison, although, one thing we could say the show and Becky Chambers' book have in common is: the worst part is that they end so fast.

George, I think Discord does have noise cancellation... have to check, but I remember some settings... I also know with whom you, George, are going to fall in love with next episode :-). Prep for a super fun episode... George (on the hooped skirt): "How do you go to the bathroom with that? Simone not answering... looks like we need to get you two to a 19th century party, so you know... ;-) Or you could watch films like Pride & Prejudice... . And you two are wrong. Jane would never betray them. NEVER... . He is loyal to the last dime... ;-)

George, all answers do come in the final movie "Serenity". Just watch it :-) Plus, keep the guessing up. It is sooo much fun seeing how accurate and far off you are (at the same time) on what is going on :-)

A cool little bit of trivia that definitely adds to the chemistry you see on screen between the crew. They actually had separate trailers and places to relax during breaks in filming but the crew got on so well that they literally spent their breaks together on the ships set.

Shindig has my favorite line in the whole show when Kaylee wants to get over to the buffet table, “How do we know if we don’t question it and such?” Lol

Sadly a lot of the answers we get are somewhat unsatisfactory. Especially everything with regards to the reavers seems really illogical, hurried, and, at least in my personal opinion, kinda lame. I get that after they'd been so prematurely cancelled they felt that this was their last and only chance to tie up all the dangling plot threads and mysteries with a neat little narrative bow, but a little more courage for imperfection, to rather concentrate on telling a good self-contained story even at the expense of leaving some things unresolved, would have made for a much better movie. The more they reveal about the reavers in the Serenity movie the less interesting it all becomes. It's one of those things that does and in fact should not ever be explained since nothing the writers can come up with will ever be able to measure up to what the audiences imagination comes up by itself. Just my 0.02 $ YMMV.

I take it as it is far in the future and Chinese mixed up/evolved/devolved into something different from current language. Or most probably because actors are not Chinese and can't pronounce it right :) Same as people sounding like Klingons when trying to speak Russian in Hollywood movies :D

Agreed with regards to Episode 6 being one of if not the best episode in the series. Jayne's Town is fun but a bit fluff for the character (development) episode that it's trying to be. Perhaps i'm being a bit too hard in my judgement because the next episode Out of Gas does so much more with less by comparison. Also i can't shake the feeling that Episode 7 would feel more natural in terms of Jayne's character trajectory if it happened after episodes 9 &10. If i had to rate my favorite Firefly episodes (excluding the pilot) i'd go with: Our Mrs Reynolds, War stories, Objects in Space and Out of Gas. Roughly in that order.

Actually Gorram is an old American slang term. It's a combination of the words "God" and "Damn". Atherton called Serenity a flying piece of Go-se ( 狗屎). Yes, you can find even that on the Internet. Evidently it means dog shit. The website I found said that Atherton pronounced it more Taiwanese than mainland Chinese.

Other Chinese youtubers, like Chinese With Jessie, who is based in Hong Kong, had difficulty understanding the version used in the show. It’s definitely not a problem with his fluency.

For the NOISE issue, just use RTX Voice for discord. It surpresses EVERYTHING expect ur voice, u can literally put an vaccum cleaner next to ur headset so loud u cant understand urself anymore but the other person only hears ur voice

RTX Voice suppresses a lot of continuous noise, not all. And it doesn't catch sudden burst. But more importantly, it does affect the quality of the voice. Less than old school noise reduction (think Teamspeak), but much more than something non realtime like Izotope. And *all* affect the voice in some way. Usually the background noise is apparently fixed here in post, in part, and also mixed in the voices and movie sound. I very rarely hear it, and it's not distracting. But I can hear some bleed from the headphones from time to time (Simone's voice in the Youtube edits, plus some movie sounds in the Patreon full length). There's no shortcut for good audio. Post production can help mitigate some damages, but as usual "fix it in post" often is more work than doing it properly at the source, more expensive, and not as good.
